  1. Radiant swiftly grew angry. She could handle being mocked herself, but that wasn't all this pony was saying. This pony had the nerve to speak mockingly of the princess Radiant had admired so much all her life... the princesses she had sworn to protect. That was just too much for her to handle.

"You dare speak so contemptuously of the princesses?" Radiant shouted, taking a step toward the other pony. "That hardly speaks innocence to me!"

Radiant took several more steps toward the pony. "Tell me why I should allow someone who openly mocks the princesses so close to the castle they call home?" she then demanded.

  2. "My name is Spirit Flame," said Spirit proudly. Her mentor had given her her name. She really treasured it. For most of her life she hadn't had one.

She considered the rest of the pony's words then. Sketch? That meant this pony liked to draw pictures. Spirit appreciated the art she saw in books. She hadn't ever seen much in person. It sounded kind of... fun. She was still a little confused, but she was really curious.

"And... um... okay... that sounds good..." she said with a very subtle nod.

  3. ((It was really kind of a struggle for me to get these two to come together... but this should work... hopefully..))

Lady shook her head. She was bored. The marketplace was too quiet today. There was absolutely nothing to catch the eye of a discerning pony like herself. Giving a sigh, she began to wonder where she should take herself for the day's mischief. She really didn't have any interest in Rockwington's metalworkers and their dingy workshops, but it was a part of the town she didn't know so well. Who knows, maybe she'd find something kind of nice if she investigated? It might at least prove an interesting diversion.

Out of pure curiosity, she decided to investigate. She picked a quiet looking workshop from the many at random and walked up to it. With a shrug, she entered. A single young stallion was inside hammering nails. The shop was small and dirty. It didn't really look worth Lady's time. She almost turned back without saying anything, but she was still curious. Besides, it was some relief that this was a pony run shop. That made this easier for her to deal with.

"Hi there, handsome," Lady said in a low, slow voice as she walked up to the stallion. "You wouldn't happen to have anything for sale that would suit a discerning filly like me?" Lady flashed her best smile as she wondered what was in her luck that day.

  4. ((heh... these two are great. So awkward but in completely different ways...))

Spirit didn't quite understand this pony's logic. Her words just further confused Spirit, but they left her curious.

"Why is it silly?" asked Spirit, tilting her head once more. She didn't see anything absurd or foolish in a suggestion like this. She didn't understand it, but nothing in it seemed "silly". Her comment about being friends with flowers seemed a far sillier thing than this suggestion. She wasn't sure what she could get from continuing to talk to this pony, but maybe it would be somehow to her advantage.

  5. "Help?" Spirit tilted her head, not understanding. The pony's words in general served to confuse her. How does a pony have a flower as a friend? Their biological makeup is far too different... There would be no way to communicate, and even if there were, they're concerns would be far too different for there to be any sort of connection. Besides, flowers could be scary. Spirit remembered that far too well from her time in the Everfree Forest...

"How can you help me if you just said you don't know how either?" Spirit asked in a very soft voice.

  6. Spirit listened to the pony's words. She really did seem almost as terrified as she did...

"I... uh... see..." said Spirit, trembling. "I... well..."

Spirit looked down. She just wasn't good at talking to other ponies. She didn't know how to express herself. The pony seemed to want to know what was troubling her. Spirit really didn't know how to say it. She was troubled because she couldn't fulfill her mentor's request of her. She couldn't "go out and play with friends" like he had said. She couldn't do this, because she didn't have any friends. She didn't have and friends because she didn't know how to make friends. Was that what she said in this case, then? She didn't know, but it was worth a shot. Maybe then this pony would go away. Spirit stiffened up and stepped forward.

"I don't know how to make friends," said Spirit simply while looking at the other.

  7. ((This particular location is really pretty dead it seems... But I already have at least one Rockwington pony to RP with... It's open to anypony (or griffin or whatever else) though.))

Lady Luck sauntered slowly through the Rockwington open market. It was good being back in this town. Rockwington was a kind of rough place, but Lady had come to think of it as her home, even if she was only ever here for so long. Sure, she had to put up with the hungry stares of all the griffins, but a mare of Lady's caliber was used to hungry stares. She'd get those anywhere she went from the stallions. It didn't really matter regardless; she knew how to fight if charm wasn't enough. Whatever the case, a few hungry birds were hardly more trouble than the Appleloosa lawmen on her trail... and Rockwington was also definitely preferable to that poor, dingy Roughrider Ridge.

Lady had just returned from a venture to the frontier. She had made a killing off of some rich stallion from Canterlot visiting the plains as a tourist. Just a little of her charm and the poor sap was completely disarmed. A hoof to his head later and she had more bits than she could even carry without having to even break out her cards. Said bits were now weighing heavy on her flank. She was looking for something to spend them on.

Nothing was catching her eye in the market stalls. Iron working was the towns most famous trade, and really it hardly interested Lady. All of it soon seemed to blur together, until she just wasn't really even looking anymore. Perhaps, these winning would just end up in her vault... She continued forward hopeful that she'd at least find somewhere to spend her money. Who knows, maybe she'd even find an opportunity to make some more...

  8. ((Nice. I think I'll start a Rockwington RP for our remaining characters now.))

Spirit let out an eep at the sound of a voice suddenly in her proximity. She darted ahead a short distance, looking for a place to hide, but she could find nothing adequate. Slowly she turned her head back to investigate, shaking in terror as she did.

It was pony. An unknown pony. Spirit continued to shake as she looked at her. She was older than Spirit by a few years. She looked a little scared too for some reason. This made Spirit being to wonder. What did this pony want from her? Shaking, Spirit took a step back toward her.

"Umm... I-I..." Spirit stuttered as she looked at the other pony. She averted her eyes slowly and trailed off, not really sure what to say.

  9. ((Just read up on your pony. Wow... she's certainly been through a lot... Nice.))

"Who wants to know?" the response finally came. Radiant snarled. She hadn't even seen her, and this pony just sounded like some sort of scoundrel or delinquent from the lack of respect in her voice. Finding the depths of her resolve she stomped toward the shadowed pony, until she was in her sights. Pierced and scarred, this pony just looked like nothing but trouble.

"Radiant Steel, proud member of the Equestrian Royal Guard!" Radiant announced boldly, standing as rigid as possible.

"Please state your name and reasons for lurking so close to the castle perimeter!" she then demanded, ready to fight if the situation called for it.

  10. ((this RP is open to anypony who may want to participate.))

"It's a nice day. A young'un like you should be out playing with friends, not cooped up in here all day!" he had said and then shooed her out the door. Spirit didn't understand. Play? It was a verb meaning to engage in activity for fun and recreation rather than a serious or practical purpose. It sounded so completely pointless. Her wise caretaker's advice was usually flawless. He had taught her so much. He gave her books to read. Why would he suggest something so meaningless? It confused the young filly.

Fun? Fun was learning. Fun was being with her mentor. Fun was having dreams. There was no fun to be had on the streets of Flillydelphia. She thought that as she looked around while walking. Many ponies passed her by each instant. They didn't seem real to her. She was a pony just like them, right? Then why did they feel so alien...? Why did they feel like they were from an entirely different world?

Spirit wandered the streets aimlessly, feeling almost in a daze. In a lot of ways this city was scarier than the forest. She had lived most her life in the forest. She understood how the forest operated. There, she knew what wanted to eat her and what she wanted to eat. There, she knew where best to hide. She didn't know nearly enough about this place. She hated not understanding something. It terrified her.

Friends? Spirit looked around again. What had he been getting at? She didn't have any friends. It was another concept that was just so foreign to her. This whole thing was silly. She hated being outside in the first place, in this world she didn't understand. Shaking her head, she turned around. She hated disappointing him, but this was something she just couldn't do. She hung her head low and began to walk slowly back home.

  11. ((Radiant didn't seem suited to any of the existing, open RP's so I decided to start my own. This is completely open to anypony. Feel free to join at any time if you can think of a way to fit your character in.))

Radiant Steel gave a sigh as she stood perched atop a wall of Castle Canterlot, staring off into the night. Night watch duty was just so tedious. Radiant knew she should be proud. After years of hard training, she had finally made it. She was an official member of the Royal Guard now, just like her father, grandfather, and so many proud pegasi of the Steel lineage before them. This was the job she wanted. Protecting the castle and the princesses, there was no profession a young pegasus pony could be prouder of.

That didn't change the fact that the night watch was dull. Nothing to do but fly up and around, swoop up and down, observing the exterior of the castle. In the month since Radiant had been doing this, she had seen absolutely nothing happen. Yet her duty was several hours long. Several hours of standing and flying around with nothing happening and no one to talk to unless she happened to bump into another guard, most of whom were hardly the best conversationalists. The golden armor on her back began to feel a little heavier at these thoughts; she sighed again, and took flight into the night.

Radiant's powerful white wings spread as she stared at the ground along the castle walls. As usual, there was nothing. She shook her head. She couldn't let herself be discouraged. If she performed well here, soon enough she'd be moved on to bigger and better things. Someday maybe she'd be in charge of guarding Princess Celestia herself... Just imagining it made Radiant smile brightly. She nodded. Yes, for Princess Celestia she was going to be the best night watch pony that anypony could ever ask for. Nopony suspicious was going to get anywhere near her side of Castle Canterlot, not while she was around!

Radiant flew swiftly back and forth, her eyes locked on the areas around her side of the castle, seeking tirelessly for anything out of the ordinary. For several minutes, there was absolutely nothing. Then, out of the corner of her eye, Radiant wondered if she didn't just catch a glimpse of some color in the darkness. Not wanting to allow anything to slide, the pegasus swooped downward to the ground below to investigate.

"Halt! Who's there!" Radiant called out fiercely into the darkness about where she had seen whatever it is she saw, still not entirely sure she hadn't just imagined seeing it. She took a step forward, her eyes locked on the spot.

  12. Might as well get this up right away. I like to champion this particular ship (I still think I've written one of the only fanfics out there for it), so I kind of snapped at a chance to conceptualize their offspring. Here goes nothing...

Name: "It's Prism Shine. Isn't that the coolest name ever?"

Sex: "I'm a filly, of course."

Age:"Old enough. It's not like the adults know anything I don't."

Species:"I am a unicorn and proud of it."

Pelt Color: "Oh, my color? It's a soft, white-ish color, just like my mother, Rarity."

Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: "My mane is amazing. It is striped in every color of the rainbow... And it's styled kinda like my mentor Twilight Sparkle's mane, only longer and frayed at the end. My tail is really, really long and also rainbow striped. It's so long I've tripped over it before... but forget I said that... It's embarrassing."

Eye Color: "My eyes are a cool azure blue."

Cutie Mark: "My cutie mark is a multi-ringed circle filled with all the colors of the rainbow in order, starting with red at the center. I think it's really cool looking. It represents my amazing talent with manipulating light and colors with my magic. I'm really proud of it."

Motivation: "That's simple. I'm going to be an amazing master of unicorn magic just like my mentor Twilight Sparkle!"

Likes: "Hmm... Let's see. What do I like? Well, Twilight Sparkle, obviously. Oh, and my parents mean a lot of me too. I love reading new books whether they're about magic or just contain fantastic stories. I love good stories period, actually. There is nothing more awesome then getting to listen to one of my mothers or Twilight talk endlessly about one of their adventures. I also adore playing with my many friends. I love anything related to rainbows or rainbow colors. So pretty. For food, give me something sweet to eat and I'm in heaven. And of course, nothing beats showing off my magic for all to see. I love being praised for it."

Dislikes: "What I don't like now? Heh. I guess I'd have to say I really don't like being made to dress up in outfits by my mother. She's just too pushy about it. Actually, I hate being treated like a child in general! I'm old enough. I"m practically a fully grown mare by now. I also hate sour things. Seriously, yuck. Oh and thunderstorms are kinda scary... and, as a weather pony, my mom would always be so busy when they came around, which always made me sad... But... yeah... that's not very cool, so leave that part out, okay?"

Character Summary: "Heh. So now you just want me to talk about myself? Awesome. I never pass up a chance to do that. Let's see... So yeah, I'm Prism Shine, Ponyville's premiere unicorn magician in training, and this is my story. Hehe. This is gonna be fun.

I guess I should start with my parents first, huh? That is where I came from, after all. Without them, I wouldn't be here. Well, I got two mothers. That's kind of different I guess, but I don't mind. I'm just used to it by now. They're really amazing ponies and I wouldn't trade them for anything in all of Equestria. That really sounded sappy, didn't it? Please, forget I said that...

Well, first we have my mother Rarity, a legitimate star in the world of dress making. Celebrity ponies come to Ponville specifically to visit her shop, Carousel Boutique. How totally awesome is that? I'm really proud of my mother and I gotta admit, the clothes she can make are pretty spectacular... but... she can really be a bit much at times. There are only so many dresses I can be forced to wear before I just lose it. I mean, come on mother, I'm not your little doll to show off to everypony! I'm not a little foal anymore. Gah! It just gets embarrassing... But... even when we disagree or argue... which is a lot... I do really love her a whole bunch... as sappy as that sounds.

My other mom, Rainbow Dash, is also pretty well known. There's nopony faster than her in all of Equestria! She's just really cool. Did you know, she's the only pony ever to pull off the Sonic Rainboom? She showed it to me before, and I gotta say it was super inspiring. If I can create something even half as awesome looking with my magic, I'll be happy. When I was a foal, she used to be a little pushy with me sometimes. I think she kind of wanted me to take after her and be more athletic. She's come off that though, and now totally supports me in my own life goals, even if she sometimes makes fun of me for it. Despite all that, I can just tell she loves my magic.

So, that's my parents... what else should I talk about? Oh yeah! That's obvious, Twilight. Twilight Sparkle is the most amazing unicorn pony ever (sorry, mother, but you know it's true). When I was just a foal, I saw her do magic that was just amazing. She's like the best ever. Did you know, she learned magic from Princess Celestia herself? How incredible is that? The personal disciple of the princess lives right here in Ponyville! Even better is that she's friends with my parents. She's been like my teacher since I was really young. She's so nice too, and is just a really amazing teacher. I never stop learning from her. It's so much fun.

I've learned everything about magic from Twilight. I've gotten really good. Not to brag too much, but my magic looks just awesome! At the Summer Sun Festival last year, I put on a surprise show for everpony in ponyville. They were all so impressed! You should have seen the looks on all their faces. All my studying payed off in that moment as I showed everypony everything I had. Most of them had never even seen my magic before, and they all showered me with praise for it. Princess Celestia was even impressed. She offered me a spot at her school in Canterlot! I was so honored, but learning directly from the Princess' personal student still seemed like the better deal to me instead of going to some school with other unicorns, so I passed. The Princess smiled when I did and told me that she thought I made a good decision. Oh, and to top it all off I got my cutie mark that day too, which is just awesome. Some of my friends still don't even have theirs yet! That was so my shining moment.

Oh yeah, I should probably talk about my friends. I have so many, I couldn't hope to name them all, so I'm not even going to try. We have lots of fun together! My parents and Twilight both tell such amazing stories about adventures they've had and sometimes it really gets me excited. I love to get my friends together for adventures of our own. Sometimes it gets kind of scary. One time me and my best friends went pretty deep into the Everfree Forest. I really don't think I'll be doing that again... My parents rarely yell at me... but yeah... that time... Not to mention, it was just seriously creepy. But it'll be a great story someday, I'm sure of it!

Hmm... If I were to describe my personality in words, I'd say I'm a lot of fun. I'm easy going and totally cool with anypony, no matter how different they are from me. I can be talkative, and maybe I'm just a little teensy bit boastful at times, but I can so back it all up! This pony is far from all talk. I never hesitate to speak my mind, and I'll definitely call you out if your acting stupid. I have a playful sense of humor and love being around others. Not to brag too much, but I really am one cool pony. Just like my mothers, I'm destined to be famed throughout Equestria one day! That said, most of the time I'm pretty relaxed about it.

But I'm not all fun and games, of course! I take my studies very seriously. I aim to be a unicorn worthy of my teacher Twilight Sparkle someday, after all. It's a lot of work, but that's okay, because I really love reading and learning new things anyway. You can really learn so much from books, not to mention read some great stories in them. I'll often stay up really late at night reading one. Sometimes to the point where I'm really tired the next day. But it's cool. I can't ever neglect my studies. With hard work, dedication and my friends to help me along, I'm sure that one day I'll be just as amazing a pony as both my mothers and Twilight! Wow... that sounded really cheesy, didn't it? You can go ahead and leave that line out..."
