I just wanna put up here that I will be inactive for a while. At least till I'm off for the summer break. I Will come back and post occasionally, I still have to excuse myself from another RP, so I won't comment on any new RP's or anything, but I won't do any RPing for a while. Sorry if this doesn't make sense just know that my life got busy because of college and I am on hiatus for a while
I promise to come back.Good luck with that college work! I *just* received my certificate in the mail yesterday, I remember just how much work college can be!

I've lurked in ponychan for a while, but I felt more comfortable posting in a forum rather than a Chan.
Let's see...
I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in my country who watches the show, so it makes me feel rather special.
After being a hateful, goth-like Anon for a while, MLP did change my heart (though I kept the music).
I'm sure I'll enjoy being part of the Brony community!

Oh, the last forum I was on had one of these. I would like to make a suggestion that it be dissuaded that the thread be used for small reasons. This was a problem on said forum; members would post things for even a 30 min leave of absence ("Bye guys I'm going to get milk and I'll be back). Of course, it's not the worst possible problem, but it did create thread clogging.

Yeah, this thread is not for like 30 minute bouts- we're talking any period longer than you would be expected to post. 3days might be reasonable, but really not necessary unless you dont think you'll be posting all week.

Based on an excellent suggestion from one of our users, we have discussed the need for a thread where users can inform other RP'ers when they are planning on taking extended leaves of absence. We think this is an excellent idea to help keep things organized and neat!
This topic/thread is open use for any RP'er who is going to be taking a leave of absence to post a heads up to all of their RP's, and let them know they will be unable to respond for an extended period of time. While it would still be best to make an appropriate 'exit' from any RP you will be absent from (a clean way to excuse your character from the RP such as 'oh my goodness I left the muffins in too long!'), we understand that sometimes life happens, and you may or may not be able to do so. In either scenario, we kindly ask that you post your planned leave of absence in this topic here!
For example, if I know I will be camping for two weeks in the summer, I would make a post in this thread bringing attention to the fact that any of my characters (and provide a list) will be inactive for those two weeks. I would try to post this information at least a week in advance, work on excusing myself from my RP's, and then go have some fun in the wilderness! Then when I get back, I could make a new post about my characters being re-opened, and ready to RP again, and talk to the RP's I was present in to see if there would be an acceptable way to work my OC back into the RP. I think this courtesy would go a long ways, and keep a lot of the "Is so and so ever going to post in mysterious thread here again?" at bay.
This thread can also double in the unfortunate circumstance that somepony feels the need to leave the Equestria forums indefinitely. While I personally do not want to see anypony go, if somepony decides that they need to part ways for whatever reason, then this topic/thread can also be used to give a heads-up to their respective RP's and to glean any contact information they would like to from other bronies. In this case, we will hang onto a user's information and OC's up to two weeks before removing any old applications or characters from the boards (freeing up slots for new chars). If the user decides to come back in that time, then all they need is post in that thread that they are returning, and nothing will be cleaned out as outdated information.
Tl:dr version: Post here when your planning on being gone! Thanks for being considerate of your fellow RP'ers, and check back here often to see what is going on with your fellow bronies!

I thought this episode was cute, but what I'd call a "filler" episode. There were some good comedic moments, but no real plot progression. Everyone stuck to their tropes.
So yeah, no development, no real revelations. We found out there are phoenixes in the pony world, and Celestia keeps one as a pet.
Like I said, it was cute; I did laugh a fair bit and there were a lot of great reaction shots that I see being turned into icons/avatars. But from a plot standpoint... eh!
Pretty much this. I enjoyed the episode, but after waiting two weeks- I had my expectations set a bit high. I'm hoping the CMC episode coming up that focuses on Twi, Rainbow and AJ is going to be spectacular because of it.
Still liked the episode, but mostly just that, liked.

As you mentioned in a way Diomedes, this character's magical abilities are very refined, almost to a D&D mindset or type of style where they specialize in 'healing' magic. There is a huge problem I see with this though- there is no evidence of healing magic in the series, and rather, there is counter evidence to it.
Twilight cannot cure illness nor even simple ailments that befall other ponies (poison joke, bad muffins, etc), They also fear injury and death when Twilight would fall of the cliff if not for AJ, AJ saving the other ponies from falling boulders, or running from the hydra.
I like the idea of a pony that uses magic to help heal- and a pony that uses magic to make precision weave by manipulating thread or knife in very subtle- important ways is much more balanced and in line with the show, than a pony who can alter their DNA to create armor, or literally use magic to regrow tissue. That is too much a battle/fighting mindset, and not an Equestria pony mindset.
Granted Faust claims that flowers grow faster/better when earth ponies tend to them- so maybe patients can heal quicker (but naturally) when a nurse/doctor pony is nearby, but just the sheer ability to control these things is too marysue for this RP, even if they seem basic in a complex system like D&D where magic of that level is necessary.
I'd just like to ask you to reconsider how you define healing magic- as right now it seems like something not even Celestia or Luna could perform. While doctor and nurse ponies may exist, it would seem wrong to introduce a pony who can literally keep other ponies from dying or being grievously wounded by using their magic.
Ex. Rarity uses her magic to aid her in the creation of dresses- she doesnt materialize gems, or material, or even whole dresses. She has to work at it. The same should apply for your healing pony- sure magic helps, and maybe patients do a little bit better in his presence than in the presence of others, but magic is only a tool they can use to help perform their craft- it shouldnt be one with the craft itself.

Lets talk about some basics real quick though: first thing you'll want to do is hop around and get your post count up to 5+, then you can post anywhere else in the forums (except for RP until your OC is approved). To do that, go ahead and welcome a few other users to the board, or tell us more about yourself here; we like to know our bronies, and as many similarities as we share, we have some pretty awesome diversities as well.
If you happened to miss them before, I have a super-handy link to the rules page in my signature, and just underneath that, a link to the character creation board where you can find nifty tools to help you design/create/whateverify your own OC for the RP, but it looks like you've already got a character in mind. In that case, you might want to take a peek at our OOC discussion board to see what character applications look like. If there are any questions you have, don't be afraid to ask.

Noir was directly inspired by the Noir Genre and i thought making a traveling character would be a good way for him 2 fill in any role i gave him. id would love for him 2 be a detective but music and theater just cried for me this time but i dont know why i would ever oppose him him doing some detective work if it ever came up because im trying 2 have the impression hes kinda done a little of everything on his travels.
also Ponysville is kinda a nice pitstop for Noir i thought it would be an easy start for his role-play
Noir is dream-bound his journey wills take him everywhere even trottingham.
I was just thinking that traveling makes him so much more wordly- and a little bit of that mysterious air. Plenty of opportunity for him to film a variety of cities and action in Equestria. When I think of it this way though- Ponyville might almost seem backwater to him; a good place to rest, but almost too peaceful for film making. Hmmm, I wonder what he will find in Ponyville that might help him as he works towards his dreams of Canterlot.

The fact that she's not good at baking other goods proposes a real challenge for her! Does she crruently try to create other baked goods still and struggle, or does she only make cinnamon twists now?
I don't think its necessary to tie her into sugarcube corner or Pinkie Pie necessarily; but I would be interested in seeing this character's home set in other locations than Ponyville (Ponyville is getting rather crowded as a place of residence). Have you considered having your OC travel to different towns, to share her excellent goods with the world? If her true ambition is to become the best, then I can see possible journeys into different lands to refine and share her cinnamon twists with all of Equestria :3

Haha well I stumbled upon this site over from DA/FA and it seemed a pretty rocking place so i figured why not join :3 Im an Aussie MLP FIM fan and have been watching since around ep 6 or so, it took some convincing but I got 2/3 of my roomamtes (males) obsessed with this show as well so they might be popping up here as well in the near future! Im also an anime/comic fan and do a bit of art work on and off depending on time, i love meeting new people and cant wait to jump into the RP section with all you bronies. Not too sure what else to say here, so I hope this makes for an alright intro post!
