1. The same one wherein the level five adventurer was granted demi-god rank simply for completing a 99.7% finished spell created by a level 20 mage, rather than actually create a new spell.

Also, if the creating of an entirely new spell warrants ascendancy to demi-god rank, I can only assume that Starswirl the Bearded was already an alicorn, given he had created time travel, and 80+% of the magic used in Equestria. Similiarly, anyone who created the other 19% must of also achieved alicorn ranking. And if we're assuming that the storybooks aren't a total nonsensical canon-break, then you don't even need to succeed in creating a new form of magic, since Cadance became an alicorn through little more than stopping a single villain with the power of love - and not even creating a new form of magic in the process.

So yeah. Level 5 adventurer tier = Alicorn rank

  2. I am both fascinated and horrified as to where Alicorn Twilight will take us. As an analogy, 'You don't use a 20th level mage to clear a cellar of rats.'

I think given that Hasbro has decided to suck all the mystique and grandeur out of alicorns by making them as easy to become as clearing a 5th level adventure campaign, then it's safe to say that alicorns are no longer 'level 20 mage' tier.

  3. If you compare her behaivior with the symptoms of Schizophrenia, They fit.

There have been studies on it... sadly enough.

People have also said she might be a sociopath... but meh. :/

I think there is a lot wrong with Pinkie.

Which just makes it so much more right. >:3

Or! She's just really, really clingy and people are reading way too much into it. If you correlate this with another study, called Occam's Razor, then you'd find that this is far more likely. And more right.

Seriously, diagnosing her as Schizophrenic because she's clingy and needy is basically like diagnosing a kid that's bored at school as having ADD. Oh wait, people already do that. Guess the fault lies with the poorly researched diagnostic studies.

  4. And it gave a look into her Psyche.

    Its highly possible she's Schizophrenic.

Can you blame the fans for taking it and running?

What I took from that episode is that she's clingy and incapable of being by herself for longer than five minutes without throwing a fit. Sorta the same conclusion I derived from the Cranky Doodle episode.

    • Season 3 succeeded in neutering Discord

Can't help but agree here. He didn't need to be redeemed since in the first place as he wasn't ever really that malevolent. I've always viewed him as the same as the character they heavily took from in forming him: Q from Star Trek. Q could be arrogant, haughty, self-absorbed and entirely out for his own amusement and entertainment, as well as a highly disruptive and chaotic force - but that never necessarily made him 'evil'. Same with Discord. I never viewed Discord as being 'evil'. Just a self-serving trickster. Heck, Discord could of easily served as a 'neutral' character, amusing himself but in the process providing the necessary conflict for the protagonists to learn new lessons in life by dealing with this adversity.

  5. The hedgehog retracted his finger from his ear, blowing on it to rid the digit of any dirt that he'd cleaned out as he listened to the swordpony retell his adventures.. or would they rather be misadventures, given the manner in which he was telling the turn of events? His characteristic grin never lowering for even a moment, he simply nodded in acknowledgement that he was listening, briefly looking around at the road, and the skies for any signs of interest. It was certainly a quiet day, and while he could spot some of the ponies working the apple farm, the road itself seemed to be more or less void of anyone passing through at the present time. No doubt most were either soaking in the sun at home or busy in the town itself. Finally, the pony finished his tale, and turned the question back to him, which caused the blue speedster to shrug.

"Eh, I've just been takin' it easy and seein' the sights. It's a pretty big world out there, so there's more than enough for me to explore," came the short and simple response - ever the adventurer and explorer, there wasn't much else to it. He had no need for money, usually, unless it scored him a bite to eat, and so therefore he didn't make a habit of part-time jobs and the likes. With a lazy stretch, the hedgehog flexed his legs and leaned down to touch his toes, "So what's your next big plan, anyway?"

  6. The sound of a lazy 'hmm?' would roll down from the branch and to the swordpony's ears, signifying the rousal of the hedgehog up above. Lazily, he opened his eyes and began to stretch, releasing another yawn in the wake of his nap being disrupted, and then sat upright and scratched behind his ear with a gloved hand. Leaning over to look down below, the corners of the blue hedgehog's lips curled into a confident grin of amusement, as he called out, "Yo, Bowie! Long time no see!" and then swung his legs out around him, pushing off the branch and nimbly leapt off the branch, landing effortlessly in front of the pony with just the smallest bend of the knees and dusting himself once he stood upright afterwards and faced the sword-wielder.

"Ain't seen ya since the teahouse! What's up?" he casually inquired, acting in that same old familiar fashion with his most recent friend as he did with any other friend he'd make. The way in which he said it conveyed an attitude that said it didn't matter if the time had passed between days or months, every meeting was a 'hello again!' as if they'd barely even been apart longer than a few minutes at best. The hedgehog shifted his weight to one side, cocking one leg a little while the other supported his body, and rested his hand on his hip, while the other raised to push a pinky into his ear and scratch the insides, providing the very image of laziness in this summer heat.

    Current Location: Ponyville,

(Road between town and Sweet Apple Acres)

Sun shining, birds chirping and a cool breeze in the air. Now this was living! So thought the blue hedgehog as he lay back against the body of a tall tree, atop one of its long and sturdy branches, his eyes turned towards the sky while he watched the lazy crawl of clouds passing overhead, pressed against an otherwise clear blue sky. Back in Ponyville after a hypersonic trek across to visit the capital, he figured he'd earned a relaxing break before he'd speed off to check out the other cities that he'd heard about in this land they called Equestria. After all, if he was stuck here without a clue as to get home, he might as well enjoy the ride anyway and see the sights! He hadn't really kept count of the days since he's arrived in this strange new world - though in truth with a peaceful world like this one, why would anyone even care to keep score? - and while his thoughts occasionally wandered back to the safety of his friends, he merely shrugged away such cares. After all, they were his buddies - there's no way any nefarious old McNosehair would be able to pull a fast one on them! Well, okay.. maybe all but one of them he didn't need to worry about, the hedgehog let out a chuckling grimace at the thought of the troubles everyone would face if that darned echidna went wild on trickery again.

The sunshine decided to turn it up a few notches, bathing the whole town of Ponyville in its warm glow, and in turn drowning out any lasting concerns that anyone might of had that day, drawing forth a lazy yawn from the hedgehog in the process. A short distance away he could hear the sound of the apple farm being worked on, and a little further away the sound of goings-on in the town, though neither sound was intrusive. After all, that's why he picked this spot! It was just close enough to keep an ear out for anything interesting, but at the same time, safe from any annoyances that might disturb his relaxation. Another yawn escaped the blue blur's lips, even as his eyes started to close.. maybe an afternoon nap wouldn't be such a bad idea, come to think of it..

The hedgehog got its name because of its peculiar foraging habits. They root through hedges and other undergrowth in search of their favourite food - small creatures such as insects, worms, centipedes, snails, mice, frogs, and snakes. As it moves through the hedges it emits pig-like grunts — thus, the name hedgehog.

Hedgehogs have about five thousand spines. Each spine lasts about a year then drops out and a replacement grows. The spines are hollow and springy with a flexible neck and they are erected by muscles, meaning that a hedgehog is actually very soft to hold unless it's feeling threatened. At the base there is a smooth ball which bends on impact. There may be up to 500 fleas on one hedgehog but the specific hedgehog flea (known as Archaepsylla erinacei) rarely bites humans.

  9. It was talked about in Twilight's book. Im a lore pig.

I'ma just delegate to this post:

I'd be wary of mixing canon from comics/books in relation to Friendship is Magic, the cartoon. Lore is already pretty vague/loose as it is, and not everyone follows the comics or other outside sources of lore. A good example of how these things don't match up is with the various "official canon" maps we've seen of Equestria. The one found from a promotion, the in-cartoon map, and the comic map are completely different.

  10. Cadence did much less, had no formal instruction prior to her becoming an alicorn, and probably no education. She was an orphaned pegasus in some backwater village, unknown to the world until she ascended and was discovered by Celestia.

..when was this? Did I miss something somewhere in Season Three or somethin'?

  11. I'm actually a huge fan of Twilight becoming a princess. The idea of the "earning your right to princess status" over having necessariy been born into it sat right with me. I never especiay found it a mary sue quaity. Actually, it just seemed like a natural evolution to her character. I feel like the show had been dropping hints from the very beginning that Twilight was going to ultimately assume the role of princess. Namely, the fact that Princess Celestia took an unusual interest in her as a student. I think it might just be unspoken lore that every pony is born with the potential to be something special, but that not all of them necessarily exemplify all of the qualities necessary to succeed as a leader? From the finale, I was kind of gaging that Starswirl the Bearded could have possibily been Celestia's prize student in the past, with the potential of becoming a prince, or a male alicorn. However, the fact that he couldn't come to terms with understanding the fundementals of caring for others likely prevented that from ever happening --- hence her focus on pushing Twilight towards friendship rather than academic studies?

Either way. I like the change. It actually pushed Twilight into my favorite character spot. She grew a lot as a character from the very beginning, and I was ultimately satisfied with Magical Mystery Cure. I loved the episode. I wasn't bothered that it was a musical, and felt the songs were really strong, and memorable. c: Ultimately, for a one-episode finale, it was pretty epic! Better than I'd really anticipated.

I don't think anyone had a problem with the fact that it happened - just WHEN it happened. That sort of change would of been better suited for the series finale (which if memory serves was Faust's intent). By having it happen right at the end of the third season, when so much more could of happened, cheapens the magnitude and significance of the transformation. Twilight hasn't done THAT much, even though her feats have been quite impressive, and so this is kind of like making an adventuring hero royalty for saving the kingdom a couple of times - an act that would be treated with great favour and praise, but not an immediate spot on the royal family tree (short of being promised a princess' hand in marriage), let alone the power of the gods.
