1. Did Damain just change the title in honor of my idea? :')

Oh, yes! The idea sounds great! :D

I think that would be wonderful. There's the original group, and as they travel, they either recruit other ponies to join or make friends with ponies along the way. So that way, this shouldn't get out of hand. Or at least, I hope not. :-|

You got the right idea, sir ;)

Should there be a posting order, just to be safe?

That's how it usually works to let everyone participate, but we have to make sure that everyone posts or there's a risk that the whole RP will stop. :-|

Also, we can't really even start this without a few of us getting our characters approved. Can't RP with unapproved OC's.

And who knows how long we'll have to wait!?

Well I'd say that we'll wait for some time but we can't keep it on the ice for too long or it might never happen at all. I think that we should wait for those that have applied now to get approved so we can have a full crew. But not to wait for further more people with their OC's waiting or this won't happen this year... Those can join when their OC's are approved.

I had an idea for the RP. What if they group has a limited amount of rations? That way there would always be something going on in the journeys in between locations, as we'd all have to monitor how much everyone eats, uses first aid, etc. Or would that just overcomplicate things?

I do like the idea, but that would be hard to execute. We could find a way to pull that off though...

Here's my idea of how that could work:

Let's say that each character is given a certain amount of food/water to devour each day, the leader is responsible to make sure that each pony is given this amount and may strain it if it's necessary. Also the leader is supposed to keep count on days and be accurate with the days versus distant to travel -- also with the terrain in mind of course. The leader's main job (if it's not appointed to somepony else) would be to make sure to stuck the food in a way so it will satisfy everypony and still be enough left by the time they've reached another city.

There might be obstacle in their way that can slow them down, such as: Timberwolf attack, a pony getting sick, or just something simple as a rough nights sleep due to a hard surface. It would be up to the ponies to solve this issues, a sick pony can be cured, especially if they got a doctor with them, a hard surface could be solved by a bedroll made by a somewhat handy pony and a timberwolf attack could probably be repelled with fire, a weapon and a brave heart. I would like to see a RP where every character's skill is lifted and each weakness covered by the other ponies' skills.

There could also be benefits by the road, such as: berry bushes, rivers and healing herbs, that would help the travelers in their journey. We can also assume that their resources will be restored when they reach a city/settlement.

    ------

Maybe we can make up a public list where we can read how much we got in our 'backpack'? Where we can also read which day we're at and where we're going versus how many days it's supposed to take before we'll reach there. Set up up a carrying limit for each pony along with a list of the amount of food/water devoured each day, tools, weapon and such are of course included in the carrying list. A sort of a 'status report' for each pony and the journey in whole.

I could take the responsibility on myself to make such a list for you to check at whenever you want to know how the journey's going if you all are ready to send me some information about your OC -- how they are built and so on, an app is appreciated -- together with what he/she will bring to the travel.

This is of course if Damain accepts my offer to make this list, I'm not the RP-leader after all! :)

    :Pinkie::smirk::Pinkie:

  2. ((OOC: just to clear some things out for you. Quillhart is an adventurer in Equestria -- not just an author. Due to the dangers we know exist, for example timberwolves, we will have to see the fact that a non-weapon pony like Quillhart would possibly have to protect himself at some point. [running away doesn't always help] That's why he would have to evolve a different style of fighting. I know that I should have added this into my app, but it was my first one and it is far from perfect. So I will just have to ask you to go easy on me with this one. :/ I'm not intending to make my character OP by using a lot of powers that he does not actually have. It is just so that an adventurer can't really be completely defenceless. I promise that there won't be anymore surprises.

So for the earthpony question. A pony can stand perfectly on three legs last time I checked.

So yeah, I hope you're not mad at me for doing what I did.))

  3. Well, he's a a young adventurer/author so he would probably travel along with the group. He personality though is 'too shy to take the first contact' but he tend to have to do so anyways because of his evil author who forces him into those situations. (BLAHAHAHA! >8D) He's really scared of conflicts and would not engage into a fight if it wasn't for his or his friends safety. May it be a real fight or even just a quarrel; he's scared of them.

Quillhart possesses a true fear of Diamonds dogs as well (includes panic) Which I think that just that fact would make up for a pretty funny RP itself if we're visiting a DDD (Diamond Dog Den).

I've already RP'ed with Fire Walker and Whirligig so I think that they are already friends with him which would facilitate his social interactions.

    He also loves gems.

    So to summon up:

Since Quillhart is young, shy and inexperienced compared to many other adventures, I think he wouldn't be the leader type in this group. Rather the opposite in fact. He's pretty docile and easy to push around since he's scared of being forced into an argument. Quillhart can really get things done though due to his 'a-bit-over-average strength' and quick head, even though he would probably claim that he can't. A leader who would like somepony to make something and wants to be sure that it will be done would might ask Quillhart because he would be too nice to say no and to scared to be yelled at to not do the work.

    Pretty much so :)

    And so the APP!

  4. Quillhart was just about to answer Fire Walker when he felt a hoof on his neck, his pupils shrank, the ears perked and his whole body braced for an assault. Qullhart had just returned from an adventure which had sadly enough been including an attack from a pack of timberwolves. And he hadn't quite realized that he was out of danger just yet. Quillhart froze in shock for several seconds with his life flashing by his eyes and was not aware of the happenings around him.

He conducted a low bow, quickly turned, grabbed and lifted the other hoof with a minor twist to lock the striker from moving while he in the same movement snatched up a sharp quill by the feather from his yellow saddle bag. He swung his head in a swift movement to lash away the quill at the temporarily exposed throat. Quillhart then realized that he wasn't about to attack a timberwolf but a fellow pony, the quill had gone to far in his lash to be stopped but Quillhart noticed a dartboard in the far end of the room. He quickly changed his aim and heard the quill when it hit the dartboard. He hurried to release the pony and stumbled back a several steps with his head and ears down.

"Sorry sir, I am a little tense today." Quillhart shock his head to clear his head. "Let's just forget about it." He then remembered the question that he had been asked, so he turned back to Fire Walker with a fairly guilty face. "I am sorry to disappoint you but I am not one of Docket's coworkers, but yes, I do know her. She is actually one of my greatest friends when it comes to help me to translate books. And also no, she's just fine as far as I can tell. I know your name and look mainly because she told me once about you."

Quillhart's mind was suddenly filled with the conversations that he had heard in his subconsciousness while he was paralyzed and he remembered that the scar-filled pony had been fairly rude to him. He slowly turned his head back to the pony with a faint smile and a vicious glimpse in his eyes when he gazed into the stallion's eyes and said. "Good thing you said 'no offense' or I just might had been offended. My friend." Quillhart turned back to Fire Walker, "So I basically just wanted to say hi and see if you was quite as awesome as she claimed you to be." He glanced back to the pony behind and the ponies around him and became a little worried when he saw that they were all armed, "But erhm... I can leave again if you guys want to be alone... I don't mind." Quillhart really didn't want to start up a fight, he guessed that he had made the pony behind him all mad as it was already.

  5. They're awesome! Especially if you "hack" them.(I use quotes because each device has a specific term for it). I digress.

You didn't specify your OC's name, all you said was "me" so I wasn't sure what to assume.

It seems like you either don't want to spend any money or can't. So I suggest using GIMP (its freeware) and going with vector art. There are tons of tutorials that I can link to you them and well as give you some of my own advice as well. I'm not sure how much you know so I'm not sure where to start. :geek:

    I know: ........ nothing

so teach stuff like: how to draw a straight line xD

  6. Pst, loop! My OC is named Quillhart not shenanigan <.< Shenanigan is the skilled artist that made my profile picture! :)

My guess is that you're thinking of an Apple or Andriod tablet, and yes those things are outrageously expensive!

I'll never get what all the fuss is about those things

Loop is most likely referring to a drawing tablet, I'm guessing that their current tablet (or an early one at least) is Wacom brand.

Prices can range from approx. $55 - $3,000 on Amazon. There's a good selection of options to choose from, but what you're really paying for is size and whether or not the tablet has a built in screen. Just be sure that if you grab a tablet, you'll stick with it mate!

We've all been there Quill, you'll be a pro before ya know it! :)

Thanks for you concern. It's most appreciated! That's still some money though ._. I'm just a poor student! :scream:

  7. I'll add you to the list, and nonsense, there no such thing as bad art work! I see nothing wrong with your arts. As for tips, I dunno about being a master, but I give you a few protips. :geek: Well, depending on what program you use your art will come out differently. I'm not sure if you're using a tablet, but if you are, I suggest Painttool SAI. Its a very good freeware program. Short version, lines are a bit hard to keep to a consistent thickness, because of the pressure sensor in the tablet (at least from my perspective), so I use Photoshop for line art. If you don't have a tablet, but want clean consistent lines, I suggest vectors. GIMP is usual people's free go to program for this. I can give you a more in depth analysis on all these programs if you want as well as what I prefer since I've used all of them.

As for videos, I myself have not watched any tutorial videos for arting so I wouldn't be the best person to direct you. I'm more akin to the deviantArt "How-to use/do such and such" tutorials.

Hope this helped even in the slightest. I'm always willing to help.

Goodie! Just a iny tiny detail. I have no clue what a tablet is, so there's no way for me to know if I use it at all... But if it's one of those electronic draw-on-it screens. There's no way for me to have one with my poor budget ._.

    That would be lovely! :)

    -------------

Thanks for your understanding! Got to be rough to drag around a newbie like me. <.<

  8. Care to draw me? :) I have no bounds so feel free to do what you like!

    References!:

Thank you Shenanigan for making this one <3

I got one in my application too. You might get some inspiration from his personality! :)

I'm a link to the application 'cause the weirdo who made this 'spoiler' is scared of links

DO NOT WATCH THIS! I repeat. DO NOT WATCH! I have made this one myself! ._.

Last warning. DO NOT press this link... You just might not recover from the drawing's poor quality as well as its eye...

I guess that it would be wrong of me to ask for some tips from the master? As you can see; I am trying out the dark paths of drawing and I really suck at it. If there is some small drawing tips that you can give me. You're maybe aware of a nice (free?) software I could use? Maybe there's a video that I should watch? I would gladly accept any advice from the expert! :)

  9. Quillhart pushed away his quill and eyed through the paper. Pleased with the outcome he decided to continue on the story later; he pushed down the quill and ink into his saddle bag while he held up his paper with the other hoof. When he then smiled and turned back to put down the paper; it was suddenly nowhere to be found. Quillhart blinked a several times with a doubtful face and thought that he must be hallucinating. He finally realized that the paper really was gone and he began to look around the con to see where it had gone.

    And so he spotted it.

It was soaring above the crowd a few meters from where he sat. Quillhart snatched his saddlebag with his mouth and initiated the hunt for the paper. He kept his eyes on the flying paper and didn't see the pony that ran into a table at the same time that he ran next to the very same table. The table flipped over and splashed a huge amount of paint on Quillhart. He was completely taken by surprise and Quillhart fell headlong to the floor as a consequence. He glanced up and noticed that his 'run in' had saved the majority of the ponies from getting their expensive costumes soaked with colour. All except from a few now very sorrowful ponies it is. The rest of the ponies gave Quilllhart a rather thankful look, and he assumed that they thought that Quillhart had ran in and protected their clothes on purpose.

He suddenly remembered the pony that had ran into the table in the first place. Quillhart trotted around the table and noticed a pony's shape below a huge black cloud of flies. He fluttered his arms at the flies to make them fly away but he only received some nasty bites. "Shoo! Bad flies! Can't you see that this pony has had enough already?!" He grabbed a span of water from a cleaning lady and threw three colourful bits to her, "Sorry, need to borrow this. An emergency." He then turned back and poured the whole bucket - which content appeared to not be as fresh as Quillhart first thought - on the unfortunate pony. It actually worked. The flies gave away a last angry buzz before they flied away and Quillhart bowed down to help the pony up on his hoofs. "Are you okay, sir? Sorry about the water... I... I only wanted to get rid of the flies for you."

  10. Cheerio! ^^

I'm a writer (typer) by heart and I've been writing since... ever. My stories tends to have a dark touch in them. (I don't know what's up with that, but it won't stop! :scream: )

I've only posted one story so far since I recently began to use FIMfiction. It's not my best one ever made but not my worst either so here you go if you want to check it out! :)

The story is about Quillhart and his friends when they were out camping and things turned... Not quite as planned.

    http://www.fimfictio.../a-moonlit-path

This is not my main story though, that title belongs to Time Spinner. It's a beautiful story about how the time was made and how time is controlled by two forces/persons. It begins with the story of the little colt: Time Spinner. The rest is to be read. ;) It is a working progress though so I can only give you a preview.

    Here's the prologue!

And if you still wan't to hear more; I also got a voice act from the very beginning of the story. It's voiced by my friend NeoExlucky who came up with the idea and owns the OC. :)
