  1. Okay this computer sucks and it's glitching.... >_<

Who throws that last pie? Since it's all up now I thought I could finally ask.

It doesn't show who throw it, it was part of the side barrage.

Also we learned that Buffalo does not like Pinky's singing, and I did not expect Pinky (or any pony) to appear in an outfit like that on the show. :D

I am not sure where I place the episode; it wasn't as good as the previous two, but it wasn't bad either and genuinely funny. Glad they steered clear of stereotyping the Buffalo and the Applossians. Plus, I am personally happy it was an AJ episode, well sort of, she wasn't really a focus (want more AJ!).

  2. So, as you might have guessed, I'm a fan of the original My Little Pony. Draggle truly was more like me than any other fictional character in '86 and admittedly, the original series will always be my favorite. That said, Friendship is Magic is the best thing to happen to the pony franchise since its beginnings, and I love how popular it has gotten. I found this forum by accident by finding the IRC chat by accident, and I hope to stick around.

In real life business, besides being Draggle twenty-five years after riding the smooze on a boob ship and dirtying up Flutter Valley, I'm a married mother of five and a teaching assistant. I don't act my age, by the way. There is nothing intimidating about me, no matter my old fart status and no matter how much I type (which can be a lot).

Welcome to the forum! It was nice to meet you in the chat. :( I hope you have a blast here, and I don't "act my age" often when it comes to stuff like this either. :D

  3. what happened to that picture of foto where you can see twi's cutie mark on her butt? I know I saw it in here at some point but now it's gone :(

they used twi's model for foto and forgot to take her cutie mark off!

Yeah I remember someone mentioning that to Faust, and she just stated it was a mistake, same with Sapphire Shores not having one in the previous episode (originally they didn't have any storyboard shots where it would show, so it was never made).

  4. What you wrote is a very good and thorough analysis of the episode, bravo! I cannot disagree with your definitions because they are most certainly correct.

So in Feeling Pinkie Keen we have an observable phenomenon that has a very reliable outcome. A Theory for how it works is NOT necessary for the descriptive observations to be accurate.

This is true, my concern is it may lead to the conclusion for some that there is no plausible explanation (it is supernatural), which is alright in Equestria, a land of magic, I just worry that it may wrongly lead to that same conclusion for the real universe. I suppose it all depends on how the parents interpret it and then explain their views to the children. Your view is spot on, I just worry that various anti-science bias in the adult audience may lead to the opposite conclusion; again though, this isn't the episode's fault.

  5. So, we're all MLP fans here, we're unashamed of our love... but how do you tentatively probe RL to see if there's any kindred spirits out there?

For instance, at work the other day, someone brought in cupcakes. I took one of them, enjoyed them, thanked them for the cupcakes, and then said, "Could use some hot sauce." Just passed it off as a joke when they didn't catch the reference.

    And, of course, "20% cooler" is a sure-fire code-word.

A lot of it I have done through places like FA, because I can toss up an icon and people will respond accordingly. Discovered several friends who were active fans of the series.

20% cooler works well for real life situations, because people who don't watch the show will chuckle just because it sounds funny while bronies will instantly understand (and hopefully respond accordingly).

  6. A story:

A father is surfing the internet while his 7 year old daughter watches television. He finds this article confirming the second season of MLPFiM. He walks over to his daughter and says, "Hey, they are making more episodes of that pony cartoon you like."

His daughter shrieks, "Yay, I love that show. I'm so glad they are making more of it. Isn't that great dad!?"

Her dad shrugs, "hehe, yeah, it's great, i guess..." He walks into his bedroom out of sight and sound of his daughter and closes the door. He continues by jumping up and down and shouting at the top of his lungs, "YES!!!! They are making more episodes!!!"

He opens his underwear drawer and pulls out his hidden Twilight Sparkle doll and begins brushing her hair. "You hear that, Twi? We're gooing to have MORE adventures!"

I don't know if this is based on a real story or not, but I did love it none the less. That would see so me, publicly going "hey, I guess that is cool, we need more good cartoons", and later back in bedroom snugging my Applejack figure going "yay!", but not the normal Flutershy yay, the Flutershy when she saw the Sonic Rainboom yay!. :P

  7. If FiM is shown on Cartoon Show, it will of course is in addition to the Hub and likely receive the episodes a week later (much like Adult Swim has new Family Guy and American Dad a week after they air on Fox). However, if it happens, it will be during the normal daytime hours with the other kid focused shows and not on Adult Swim.

Adult Swim is for shows specifically designed for adult audiences, with a focus on surreal, dirty, and absurdist humor, and FiM, despite its huge adult fanbase, does not fall into that sort of programming. Hasbro views FiM as a show for young girls and for selling toys to that same demographic. As Tremaine pointed out above, adult toy collectors are just a niche market and not large enough for companies like Hasbro to refocus from the much larger current target audience. Because of these reasons, Hasbro will want to avoid Adult Swim because it may only hurt the brand and not help it in any significant manner.

  8. I didn't like how the stock Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash looked out of the box, so I cut/styled their hair in an attempt to make them look a little more like their cartoon counterparts. What do you think? If I am still feeling this adventurous when I get my Rarity, I'm going to try curling her hair with the soda straw method.

Man I wish I knew how you did that because I would love to (although as a dude, I'd probably suck at it), although I am pretty satisfied with the out of the box Applejack I got as a gift (and of course my custom Derpy  ). At worst, I still have McD ones for the others. Yours though look really well, probably as close to the show as one can get.
