  1. Rairty to Fluttershy: "I promise I'll never keep my feelings a secret again!"

and then there was a explosion of a thousand Rarity/Fluttershy shipping fanfics...

In all seriousness, it was an excellent episode and even though it was mainly about Fluttershy and Rarity not assuming stuff and instead learning they should say what they really think (and a lesser subplot about Twilight and secrets), Pinky almost stole that show with her hilarity!

Also, lol, Pinky can appear in mirrors.. she is watching! Ever watching! O_O

  2. You can, you take the little code at the end and put it in =3

I'm not getting this to work in other threads

    see...

You need to cut the text before and including the equal sign, so "watch?v=iK-G0cAqUwQ&feature=fvsr" should be iK-G0cAqUwQ (you need to remove the "&feature=fvsr" too). You can grab the needed section from the "Share" feature below the video on Youtube.

  3. I'm gonna be picking up Ashi and spending the day with my bestest pal evers for the first time in person. >.> Maybe we'll watch ponies, since she'll be in a car all day today and won't be able to watch it.

Oh yeah, you guys will be driving from North Dakota to Kentucky, likely driving right by my house half way there, lol. Well good news, the weather should be nice and sunny hear in Chicagoland that day. :)

  4. I think you guys are forgetting that she doesn't have to have a 'limited pool' even if this were the case - every living being in existence brings in energy from an outside source. It's called eating, or photosynthesis. In the case of ponies, they might also be manavores.

But I doubt very much she needs to 'manually' keep her youth. I would rather suspect that Royals are just naturally long-lived.

Well if you all want to get real science technical, the outside source of energy that allows her (and everything else) to control would be the Sun, which she seems to have some power over.

Sadly in the show we will probably never find out the true age or power limit of Celestia and Luna (or any other alicorn). All we know for sure is they live thousands of years in comparison to decades for the other pony sub-species. They have immense magical powers and probable power over the fundamental forces of their world, although it is likely limited to some degree. I wouldn't be surprised that they are born, age very slowly over time, have offspring, and eventually die, but in a much larger timespan.

Besides everyone knows god's name in Equestria is Fyre-Flye :)

  5. Mmm, also very well put. I had guessed that Trixi's talent was actually parlor tricks, as opposed to genuine magic, unlike Twilight who's cutie mark suggests that her strength *is* the 6th element, magic. Someone mentioned earlier that Twilight's cutie mark was a star with five other small shining stars around it, as if it was a representation of the elements of harmony. Since the 6th, and Twilight's element, is magic; it would follow that Twilight's true talent *is* magic, unlike Trixie, where even the name suggests that her talent is tricks.

Twilight does appear to be the only one in the series who possesses an extraordinary gift revolving around the elements of harmony. I'm not sure where that places Celestia/Luna, who also have very unique/rare gifts of their own.

It could be that Trixi's power is no more that based on parlor tricks, although it would be more interesting it was based on the magic of illusion control. I always wondered if Trixi actually changed Rarity's hair to that green bird's nest or just gave the illusion that she did (and thus have the potential to cloud minds). In addition to general telekinesis she seems to be able to control "objects" like rainbows, which normally only Pegasi could. Yet again, it could be all parlor tricks, it just be cool from a story point if she had something much more to her ability. :)

I definitely noticed Twilight's mark as being directly related to the Elements of Harmony, so I suppose it was always her "destiny" from the start to do this and have magic itself be her specialty.

  6. I think Twilight was being personally tutored by Celestia. Perhaps Celestia wanted something more to do with the Equesterian populace, so she took on a student as a side project. Also, if she is buddy-buddy with a regular member of society, it can help her see from the eyes of regular pony, someone who is among the people. She can be closer to her subjects, without intruding into their daily lives.

That seems to be a very commonsense answer; it seems to fit the series best too as it doesnt assume anything out of the ordinary, or hidden motives. I think i'm personally hung up with the idea of Twilight being groomed as a successor, all because of that art of 'princess' Twilight.

Well we know unicorns all have magical power, but perhaps among the unicorns there are those few individuals who's specialty is magic itself and not merely having magic for the sake of merely supporting their special talent, and these are the most powerful magical users. Celestia (or the alicorns in general) may take special interesting in them and thus train or mentor them to reach their full potential as powerful magic users, Twilight being one of those with this special rare gift (perhaps the only one at this time). I image there could be others (heck, perhaps even Trixi, but unlike Twilight, she cannot see and thus reach her potential because of her personality flaws and her current inability to overcome them).

  7. I'm not sure if anyone has posted this video yet but I just wanted to show this epicness that I found. Now I'm a huge fan of the Mass Effect series I'm already putting money down to get Mass Effect 3. So here you go an amazing video.

I LOLed and then I LOLed some more. Man I love the Mass Effect series and this is just hilarious, "Manly Spike" as Shepard.

  8. hi hi

I was watching Feeling Pinky Keen again and I suddenly had a revelation. I recall hearing somewhere that Earth Ponies were supposed to have a strong connection with the earth, plants, animals and living things in general, in the same way that pegasai have a connection with the sky and unicorns have a connection with magic.

But if you can believe that all life has an energy to it, an energy that surrounds us and binds us. Suddenly Pinkie Pie's ability to predict the future makes perfect sense. She's actually some kind of jedi master... One wonders what else she might be capable of.

I wish I had the link but I did see someone asking Lauren about the Earth ponies since Unicorns had magic and Pegasus had power over the weather. She did state that Earth ponies are especially attuned to the land and nature and that is why they focus on farming, growing, animal care-taking, and so forth. Pinky though, her ability may be entirely unique.

  9. ... I just noticed Gramps doesn't have a cutie mark. Why hasn't that been mentioned on that page?

Also kind of half-confirmed that two ponies can share the same cutie mark.

I'd say confirmed, two ponies have the hour glass mark.

In Sonic Rainboom, one of the competitors looks just like "Dr. Hooves" complete with Hour Glass make but as a Pegasus (and a much younger voice). I suspect that is really based on reuse of templates to speed production time, just as Gramps lacking a mark is likely a small animation mistake (I believe Sapphire in the Diamond Dogs episode is also missing a mark).

  10. I don't remember where I found this, or where I got it, but I couldn't help but think this would be awesome to share.

It appears to be every outfit, hairstyle, and color combination from the Adventures in Ponyville game, set to a song some of you might recognize, even as a remix.

    Hope you enjoy!

I originally tried to upload it as an attachment, but seems like the board doesn't like -anything- I upload, so...

I found it here, for the time being.

So is that every variety from the Hasbro flash game?

  11. That is an interesting concept. After all how do the seasons change in the ares outside of pony populated lands? Perhaps some alicorn(s) does it silently. Also like the idea of some abandoning their duties; perhaps there were many more alicorns int he deep past and they are fading away. Celestia and Luna could even be all who is left of the once former alicorn sub-species.

This is the feeling I get from the series, that they are likely the last of their kind, or at least even the royals of their own sub-species (which, its pretty clear that they are.) Perhaps other alicorns are fading away, or becoming unstable for whatever reason- and thus a thousand years ago Celestia and Luna (pre-argument) decided that the land that was suffering without the benefits of the other alicorns needed to be monitored, and they established Canterlot, and taught the pony sub-species how to tend to the land on their own (in the stead of the dwindling alicorn presence).

That would be an interesting concept, even if I doubt the Alicorns will be explored in such a way in the series. It would almost be like Battle Galactica that way where the Lords of Kobal are all gone and humans basically take over and run everything themselves. In Equestria's case, Unicrons for the delicate and sophisticated jobs, Pegasus for the weather and the sky, and Earth ponies for the land and food.

Perhaps once an Alipony gives birth, it starts to age again, and lives out its life. The child will then be the successor, by default.

This, is better than any reasoning/idea I could come up with; it lends a mortality to Celestia and Luna; some type of limit to their abilities and lifespan. They have to either shoulder the burden of their celestial and lunar responsibilities; or give them up to live a different life (to have a family, or whatnot), they have to shrug off that longevity, and produce some type of heir to their position.

That is also a cool idea, as it is possible they would become weary of their current responsibilities, it make also be physically draining over the centuries. The idea of moving on to a quiet life as matriarchs and passing the responsibilities off to offspring is a cool one. Maybe soemthing that only happens every thousand years or so?

  12. Good Point, they haven't shown another Pegasus at her age flying yet now that I think about it...

I actually have no idea where they would take that now lol

There is a scene in the end of episode 2 where there's little baby pegasus ponies putting a ring of flowers around Luna, and they're smaller than Scoots.

Ah, you beat me to saying something about it.

    But here is a photo:

    Flutterponies.jpg

I have little doubt Pegasi around Scoot's age can fly, they just cannot fly like adults such as Rainbow Dash, Derpy, or Fluttershy can, instead I always imaged them as slower and somewhat wobbly in their flight. It isn't established that Scoot cannot fly is it? Or just we really haven't seen her fly? She seems to be decent with her wings, after all she did use them to power that scooter of hers. :(

  13. Managed to snag all the McDonalds ones in one affordable eBay swoop, which is just as well since I don't care for McDonalds and I don't have to explain why i am buying a Happy Meal.

Friend (Bramble Rose on here) bought me Applejack from Target I believe, just need to make the right kind of hat for her. My biggest win was the custom Derpy for a commission trade. :(

  14. The youngest member is 14 and the oldest is 32./quote]

I am older than the oldest stated member.. :? That makes me feel a bit weird for being here. :)

Nah! Trust me, i'm only a few years off and I dont feel weird about it. Hang on to the things you love, and dont sell out!

I definitely feel weird for that same stated reason, I look at those numbers and think "Really? Maybe I should stop :( "
