1. (I'm going to cheat Shimmer into the room with Time) Shimmer looks to her fiancé as he shouts at Twilight. She was aware of the distrust between the two, and it was something that saddened her. She loved Time, but still had an obligation to Twilight as her guard. Shimmer places a hoof on Time's shoulder, speaking calmly, "Celestia is right, Time. Please, calm down." Carmus remained silent throughout most of the 'conversation', merely standing by Spitfire. He did agree with her, though. Especially when Twilight mentioned the price of the gems. After Celestia calms Twilight and, alongside Shimmer, addresses Time, he speaks, "These gems are like a larger version of the shield used by my brother. What I am mainly curious about, is do these gems need a constant feed, or do they store excess energy for later use? They would seem pretty impractical if we needed to have a constant group of volunteers standing before it!"
2. "Oh, thanks, but I can--" Denim had begun respond when Jack when he pushed back her mane, but was cut off by the kiss. When he released her, she gave him a scrutinizing look, "Well that.. was certainly spontaneous.. and random," she cleared her throat and looked up at the pegasus for a few seconds before punching him squarely in the jaw, "But that certainly wasn't." She takes a couple steps back from him, "Sorry about that. I'm just one of those that takes things a little.. slower."
3. "True as that may be, we would still be tampering," she brushes a bit of her mane out of her eyes as she speaks, "If we caused another pony to perform an act that wasn't meant for them originally, it would still be a different history." Denim sighs as the lock of her mane falls in front of her eyes again and she beds her head down to readjust it. When she lifts her head again, she sees Jack is standing slightly closer to her. The mare raises an eyebrow, "Is there a reason you are standing closer?"
4. Carmus listened to and watched the presentation in relative silence, merely holding Spitfire's hoof. When she mentioned her hope that Horizon and Jet-Stream knew what they were getting them into, he nodded slowly, "Yeah.. I hope so to. I trust them, but that doesn't mean I'm not skeptical about this."
5. Denim shakes her head slightly, "No no no.. Well, OK, maybe for something small. But you missed my point. What I meant was if we screwed something important up. Like, even something we didn't know was important. Like if we inadvertently caused the death of some influential pony, is what I meant."
6. Carmus nods slowly, looking up at the device, "Yes... It is quite a sight." He says in response to Spitfire. He braces himself when the floor rumbles, keeping his eyes on the machine, a mix of awe and apprehension flashing behind them. Carmus glances over at Spitfire, wrapping one hoof around her's, "It'll be fine... The Princesses know what they're doing."
7. "So if we did screw something up here, then we would have felt the repercussions of that happening in the time we came from? Like throwing a stone in a pond, the ripples spread out over the entire surface of the water?" Denim says, brushing a bit of her mane out of her eyes, "But what about alternate realities, or timelines? Maybe we did screw something up here, and that branches us off into another time? I'm probably thinking to deeply into it, but hey, that's always where the fun stuff is!"
8. "Just because it's from the future doesn't mean it's not enchanted. I don't really see it ever working without magic." Denim says, looking at the small device with scrutiny, before shrugging and looking around at her surroundings again, "Sure thing. Though it's gonna be kinda hard not to tell ponies about you guys if you end up staying in Ponyville. Especially with that box."
9. "Oooh, well this is convincing." Denim says, glancing around at her surroundings, "Ponyville's gone, and there's next to nothing else. Fascinating." She trots a short distance away from the two stallions, still looking around before she wheels about to face them, "That's a fancy device you got there, Jack. Who enchanted it for you? I'd love to meet them!"
10. (Ever so sorry for the long wait. I was at Hershey Park all day, and my phone died on me half way through. Anyway, to business,) Carmus listens silently as the announcement was made, and the short conversation between Horizon and Spitfire. He nods to Spitfire as he clears his plate, standing and picking it up, "Same here. But, we'll never know until we check, huh?" He carries his dish over to the pile before walking back over to his fiance, "Alright then. Let's be off." The Raptor Captain looks to Time as he walks, "Wait, really? Huh, guess it's the time for ponies to be getting engaged, eh?" Shimmer chuckles at Cloud's comment, giving her one more squeeze before releasing her. The Sentinel smiles to her friend, "Not a problem, Cloud. Good luck, with everything."
11. Shimmer wraps her hooves around her friend, pulling her into a sisterly hug, "I know how you feel... I've seen that look more times than I would like. In my brother, in Flash." She sighs, "Throughout the entire conflict." Carmus watched Spitfire get up before finishing off the contents of his plate. When Spitfire returned, and sneezed, he tried his best not to laugh, but her facial exppression proved to much, and he laughed alongside Horizon. The Captain put a hoof around Spitfire's shoulders in a mock possessive manner, "Tread carefully now, friend," he says to Horizon, before laughing again, "But you're right. It was incredibly adorable." Carmus looks over to Time, "Not a problem, bud. Oh, you knew about that?" He raises an eyebrow, before nodding, "Eh, no matter. It went well, all according to plan." The stallion gestures to the band around the Wonderbolt Captain's leg.
12. Shimmer chuckled at Cloud's comment, though her one changed slightly as she spoke, "Did you now? That's to bad. It was nice being able to call you a sister in arms I'll probably keep calling you that, but hey. What'll you do now? Just run with the Wonderbolts?" She steps slightly in front of Cloud, "Do you want to talk about it? I mean, how you've been feeling?"
13. Carmus taps his hoof on the table in a slow rhythm, chewing his food slowly as he thinks it over. He swallows, takes a sip of his drink and nods, "Of course. I don't see why not. She seems happy around you, and her spirits seem to have taken a turn for the better. Yes, I give you my blessing to propose to my little Sister." He leans forward slightly, dropping his voice, "You treat her good now, y'hear?"
14. Shimmer landed softly behind Cloud, chuckling quietly, "Change your stance a little bit, and you could go from looking partially heroic, to villainous." She steps up beside her, "You doing OK?" Carmus nods, "Sure, they can be a bit brash, but they'll be capable." He nods to Horizon, "Thank you." The Captain falls silent and begins to eat, listening in on Spitfire and Horizon's conversation. He chuckles at Horizon's final comment, "Aah, she'll be able to handle it... Maybe for the first week or so." He says casually before looking back down to his food. A few minutes later, Carmus looks up from his plate to see Time. The Captain nods, "Of course. What's on your mind, Time?" Across the room, the old members of Ensis Squadron were all gathered around their own table, discussing the new recruits they were receiving, their assignments and the like. Alkaline, still bearing scars from his skirmish with the corrupted Commander, leaned over to a mare who bore a striking resemblance to him, and whispered to her, "Hey, Thallium, watch this," He taps the table, chuckling, "So, Shrike, how're those newest additions to the team treating you?" The Sergeant forcibly smacks a hoof against his forehead in exasperation, "They are driving me insane! One of them questions every order I give, and constantly tries to flirt with just about any mare he sees. I swear, I am going to kill him someday. And then there's the other guy. He was fine, at first, but he's constantly sucking up to me, and I think he's trying to be my best friend or something. I'd be OK with that, I mean, I'm friends with you guys, but he is, simply put, an idiot." He shrugs, and sighs, "He's strong though. I think that's his body's way of compensating for his lack of brain." Alkaline looked back to Thallium, who was laughing alongside some of the others. One of the other Sergeants, Chevron, who was also bearing scars from the conflict, chuckles gruffly, speaking in a gravelly voice, "We've got some pretty similar recruits it seems! One of mine is a major suck up, and the other one is a slacker. He is easily the laziest pony I have ever met. But I'll break him before to long, believe me!" The Raptors continued to speak, joke and enjoy each other's company.
15. Carmus steps over to the table, seating himself alongside Spitfire, and giving a nod to Horizon, "The trick is to swallow your food slowly dear," he says to Spitfire, "I couldn't help but overhear that last bit. It is a dilemma, but I think I might have a suggestion." He points a wing over to Rainbow and Soarin', "Why not a joint leadership between those two? From what I've seen they are both fairly capable, though I've not known them to terribly long. I'll leave that decision up to you, Spitfire." Shimmer glances around the room, chuckling at Time's use of the pet name. It was something she was still getting used to, having only ever been called by her full name, or just Shim by her brothers and friends. "Yep. Seems like things have already kicked off." She looks around the room once more, catching sight of Cloud Dasher as she steps out. Shimmer taps Time's shoulder, "You can go ahead and get situated. I'll find you in a bit. I want to go talk to someone." She gives him a quick hug before stepping around him and trotting outside after Cloud. (OOC: Oh my... Considering the apparent bad blood between Time and Twi, and Shimmer being good friends with Twi, there could be a decent amount of drama in this situation.)
16. Carmus flinched when she hit him with the hat, and chuckled, "Thank you. It's something that you pick up on when your instructor used to talk like that." He watches and listens as Celestia speaks, and nods to Spitfire when she suggests getting food. He follows her through to the dining room, and takes in the plethora of ponies. He chuckles at Spitfire's comment, "That's something we'll need to work on them, won't we?" Glancing over the buffet, he shrugs, "Neither can I... But then again, it's probably an all you can eat, so I guess we can just take anything, then come back for more."
17. Denim fell in line besides them, biting her lip in thought, "Welll, there's the founding of Equestria. The defeat of King Sombra. The Discordian Era and the Nightmare moon crisis, to name a few." She says, shrugging, "And then there's the subsequent return and defeat of those three, though those were fairly recent. Not much else I can think of off the top of my head."
18. (We could probably just have them show up, as if they just got there, have them integrate themselves, interact.)
19. Rune grins, levitating the poster back to himself and grinned at her, "Thank you!" The beige colt steps forward and hugs her as best he can, before racing off to a unicorn mare, obviously his mother, showing her the poster. After some direction from her, he was directed to a Pegasus stallion, his father. Who just so happened to be the Commander of the Raptors, Jet-Stream. Rune showed the poster to his father, who smiled to him and ruffled his mane, before turning his gaze towards Cloud Dasher, nodding to her.
20. Carmus chuckles at Soarin's comment, maintaining the accent long enough to respond, "None that I can see as of now. You can rest easy tonight."
21. The colt grins excitedly, "Rune! My name's Rune! You can put whatever you want on there." Carmus nods, turning to face her and returning her smile, "Yeah... It's still a little strange to think about. But it fills me with a little pride." He shrugs, looking to the door, "Now if only Shim and Time would show up..." He raises an eyebrow at Spitfire as she picks up AJ's hat and places it on him, saying it fits him well. He chuckles, adjusting it so it casts a shadow over his eyes, and adopts a perfect imitation of Applejack's accent, "Well, shoot Miss, that's mighty fine of you t'say." He maintains a straight face for a few seconds before breaking into a laugh, letting Spitfire take it off of him, he turns his attention to Applejack and Rainbow, watching with amusement.
22. The colt beams, then stops upon landing on all fours again, "Wait.. Shoot, I didn't think that far ahead. Oh! Hold on!" He focuses, his horn glowing faintly for a few seconds before becoming fully enveloped, and then flashes dimly. Before him is a Wonderbolt poster, which he levitates in front of him, "There we go! Could you sign this?"
23. Sage smiles, "It'll be great to be here! I'm sure the squad wouldn't mind getting to know the Captain's fiancé a little bit better, eh?" Carmus chuckles at Sage, "I'm sure they would." He smiles to Spitfire, "Of course we could. He'll probably approve as well." He falls silent and watches as the rest of the Mane 6 arrive, chuckling at their antics. He nods to Spitfire, smiling broadly, "Yep, that they are."
24. Sage grins, "That's great! I'm going to have to visit that soon." She nods, "Oh yes, I did. Congratulations!" The forest green mare shrugs, "I haven't really decided yet. I'm thinking I might stay, I like it here, and I am still a part of Carmus's squadron, technically." Carmus looks over to Spitfire with slight surprise, "Really?" He smiles, "Are you kidding? We use stunt maneuvers in combat anyway, you'd be a great addition! Besides," he nuzzles her briefly, "I can pull some strings for you." Carmus laughs and smiles, "Not knowing enough's fine! You have an unspoken recommendation, and I can teach you personally, if need be." The colt grins, "Awesome! Think you'd be able to sign something for me?" He hops, obviously excited.
