  1. Celestia's sun bore straight down upon Equestria just past noon, the day's heat reaching its peak across the land. However, while ponies on the ground got to enjoy some cloud cover, ponies in Cloudsdale were not so fortunate; the city's position above or amidst most of the clouds meant the sun's rays beat down directly upon all of the Pegasuses residing in the city of the sky. All save for one, who'd had more than his fill of both the city and the overbearing sun for the day. A streak of pale gold and burnt orange shot straight down through a cloud beneath Cloudsdale before slightly curving into an angle, aimed now at the great lakes some distance away. As the blur grew closer, anypony or creature near the ground would begin to hear a distant, echoing "WOOOO!", which only grew louder as the Pegasus emitting it grew closer. His wings were angled back, only partially extended from his body to maintain his balance and angle. As the lake rapidly grew closer, though, the pale gold Pegasus would open his wings up wide, the sudden, additional drag causing him to noticeably slow down, his ecstatic 'woo' coming to a halt just as abruptly. Hitting water with enough speed was like hitting cement, and having gotten to 'enjoy' the experience of crashing into cement in the past made him none to eager to relive it. Once he'd reached a more reasonable speed, he would begin to retract his large wings once more, now descending at a much steeper angle towards the lake. When he was only a couple dozen feet above the water, he retracted his wings fully against his body, going into freefall almost perfectly vertically. Seconds before hitting the surface, he took in a deep breath, his cheeks puffing out while he shut his eyes. *SPLASH* The pale gold Pegasus would vanish beneath the surface of the lake, a misty column of water spraying up from where he had impacted as waves rippled out towards the shore. As he descended into the water, he would once again open his wings, the drag once again helping him slow down. Using both his wings and his hooves, he began to swim up through the five or six feet of water between him and the surface, breaking it a few moments later. After catching his breath, he would let out a long, relieved sigh. "Ahhh... sweet relief.". As he relaxed in the cool, crisp water of the lake, he would begin to use his wings to propel himself slowly towards the shore, his hooves lazily paddling beneath the surface. His eyes would slowly open after a few moments, the Pegasus stallion finally taking a minute to see if there was anypony else around or in the lake he had dove into.
  2. I understand. I can deal with that. Thanks for the approve!
  3. Earthbound! I still play it today, even after beatin' it I dunno how many times. And Giygas STILL gives me the creeps.
  4. You wouldn't happen to be Silver Squall, would ya?
  5. Eee! And as for the advantages/set backs, they allow him to move significantly faster than other pegasi that're average/slightly above average his size (though not like "rainbooms go off everytime he flaps his wings" fast ) and allow him to glide for longer distances. If he isn't mindful of them, though, he can be quite a bit of a clutz (knocking stuff over, getting them caught on things, tripping over them if they're drooping, etc.). He also can't exactly fly through narrower areas as easy as other pegasi, usually grounding him when it comes to navigating tight corridors, such as city alleyways or narrrow streets.
  6. Welcome! I'm new, too, but I've been RPing for years. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
  7. Thank you Phil and Skye for the welcomes! I'm glad to see that this place is as welcoming as Flankbook. Anyways... I appreciate all the encouragement for the FMA RP idea, but it's definitely something I'd wanna give a lot of thought to. I've seen a couple in the past, and let's just say that FMA gives plenty of leeway for annoyingly overpowered characters. I'd wanna come up with a good set of ground rules to avoid that kinda thing.
  8. Oh, apologies about the age thing. I re-read the OC creation post to see if I missed anything and I did. I was pretty worn out last night. Fixed the age thing. As for the explanations, I went into greater depth on his early years and whatnot when I first wrote the summary, but then decided to replace them with something a lil more vague but plausible for two reasons. 1) I wanted to keep some things relatively mysterious in order to maybe inspire curiosity in those I RP with and to allow for the possibility of bonding via opening up, s'well as character development and 2) If I left it, the summary would be nearly twice as long, so I figured I'd better cut it down a bit. I'd be happy to add hobbies, but I'm not entirely sure where to fit them in at. I tried to use the Likes section as a place for a few (such as performing stunts or discussing philosophy), but didn't know what would fit and what wouldn't. Anyways... thank you for the compliment! I'm glad you like him. I was worried about reactions, particularly to the whole "abnormally large wings" thing. I just liked those style of wings in comparison to the smaller, normal sized pegasus wings, but realized in an RP based on the show, they would be quite odd. I hope my explanation for them is sufficient.
  9. Hey Blush! Saw your profile, but I missed your introduction post. I was glad to see you joined here, too!
  10. Heh, I would, but crippling laziness may prevent me from doing so. Woo! You're here too, Frag? - Hugs - Thanks! And I'm sure I will!
  11. I would like to note to any admins/moderators checkin' this that I'd much prefer for the last part'a my summary (the bit about current residence) to have Mobius living in Ponyville. I altered it so that he's still in his place of origin after reading the "Character Residences" post (missed it while I was making my profile ) because I didn't know if the intent of that post was for the "Origins" part to be spread out, or because you want the ponies to technically be living in other places than Ponyville. Not a big thing, but if possible, I'd much prefer Mobius to be currently living in - or well, on the outskirts of - Ponyville. If not, then I understand.
  12. Name: Mobius Blaze. Sex: Male. Age: Stallion. Species: Pegasus Pony. Pelt Color: Pale Gold. Mane/Tail Color & Style: Burnt orange with natural orange highlights. Medium-long length and usually moderately messy, as though he's in a constant "just got out of bed" state. Eye Color: Gold. Cutie Mark: A pair of slightly tilted wings wreathed in or made of flame. Physique: Tall and somewhat slender, with very slight, almost unnoticeable muscle toning. Origin: Cloudsdale. Roleplay Type: FiM/Show "Mane" Equestria Universe. Occupation: Odd jobs, usually in weather/cloud control. Motivation: High-speed stunt flying, much to his parents' dismay. He earned his cutie mark after successfully performing a dangerous stunt/obstacle course that included copious quantities of fire, which ultimately also earned him a large number of trips to the Cloudsdale infirmary. Likes: Flying, star gazing, sleeping, racing, performing stunts, discussing philosophy, tea, coffee, muffins, almost anything vanilla flavored, helping others, goofing off. Dislikes: Unnecessary austerity, excessive frou-frou behavior/style, genuine jerkiness, "Nothing" arguments, monotony, pointless/malicious/unnecessary lies, self-serving disloyalty, blind self-destructive loyalty, malicious teasing. Character Summary: The son of a retired stunt flyer (his father) and a mathematician (his mother). His parents gave him his name due to the fact that he was a hyperactive foal, even just after birth. His mother insisted on the name 'Mobius' in reference to his seemingly endless energy, due to the relation of the term to infinity (and because she felt 'Mobius' sounded better than just 'Infinite,' 'Infinity' or 'Lemniscate'). They later added 'Blaze' to his name as he got older, due to his tendency to go even the shortest distances as fast as possible, constantly going at a 'blazing' pace, so to speak. Mobius was able to fly at a slightly younger age than most foals due to a rare genetic trait that results in abnormally large wings, a trait passed through his family by his great grandsire. However, the energetic and optimistic colt learned the hard way that being different wasn't always a good thing upon attending the Junior Speedsters Flight Camp. He prefers to keep his foalhood to himself, so few know what exactly happened to him. However, it was what ultimately lead to the bright-eyed, hyperactive colt to becoming the laid back (in comparison to his younger self), understanding and usually slow-going stallion he is today. Mobius continues to reside in Cloudsdale, though he frequently leaves to explore other parts of Equestria, having grown tired of the hustle and bustle of city life. He often frequents Ponyville, due to the hospitable, kind nature of its inhabitants and its tranquility. With no real set job, he usually looks for odd work where a Pegasus is needed, often helping with cloud/weather control or, in rare cases, acting as a courier for special deliveries. The gold pegasus has what some might call a peculiar manner of speaking. He often cuts words short or runs them together, even if it isn't proper to do so, such as using just " 'n " instead of "and" or substituting a simple " t' " in place of "to." However, he has no drawl or real accent despite his informal manner of speaking. He oddly - or perhaps deliberately - takes on a much more austere, proper form of speaking when dealing with a particularly serious issue, or when his sincerity is called into question. Picture
  13. Nah, I understand. I helped run some more rigid, stat-based RP sites years back 'n I know what a pain it can be to deal with Mary Sue characters. I'll probably be stickin' with the show RP area, as well. Buuut... if I happen across any Full Metal Alchemist-esque crossover RPs, I might hafta make an alchemist pony...
  14. Oh, I've been readin' over the rules already. n n. Mostly the OC creation rules, since I don't wanna cause any problems or the like. Someone asked if any of us knew any good pony RPs, 'n said she was lookin' at canterlot but wanted to know if there were any others. Curious, I decided to look it up 'n once I found the site, I began readin' it over. What caught my eye the most was the "keep it PG" attitude, since one of the aspects of the show I love the most is the light-hearted innocence. I don't judge those with uh... certain interests, in regards to ponies, but it's just not my bag.
  15. I heard about this site on flankbook 'n decided I'd give it a looksee. I like what I see, 'n I wanna enjoy some RPin', and this seems like a very reasonable site, so I joined! I'm twenty-two, male, sadly unemployed but attending college, and I live in California. I got bronified relatively recently in June, after curiously flipping on an episode one morning when I'd been up all night. As luck would have it, it was the episode "A Dog And Pony Show," 'n Rarity's whining scenes instantly made me fall in love with the show. x3. There's plenty more, but I don't think the introductions board are here for a life story, right?
