Thanks for the feedback, though I did have a few of those things mentioned in mind. Though I guess what I wanted to say is; are there any powers that you've seen often, that may be reasonable but you're just sick of seeing?

A character in my fanfic is going to be learning spells over time, I was wondering if any of you readers, or other writers out there can tell me of any powers that really feel out of place, or that feel overpowered or stupid. It'd help me out because I can see what the populace doesn't like, and work out new powers while dodging common and powergame-like powers.

Eye Color: Silverish-blue. Cutie Mark: A sun peeking over a raincloud. Physique: Wispy. Origin: Painted Pinto Desert, settled in Appleloosa Roleplay Type: Mane Equestria Universe. Occupation: Firepony(like fireman, not pony who sets everything on fire.) Motivation: Saving lives! And with her specialization in water magic, firepony was the best career she could want. Likes: Water,trees, reading. Dislikes: Fire, unless s'mores are involved. Character Summary: Summer Squall, an only child, used to belong to a roaming desert band along with her parents. She would help the band find hidden water wells with her special water themed magic. She found about this peculiar power one day when she concentrated on levitating some water into buckets for her and her parents to carry along for their desert wandering, and turned it to a raincloud by mistake! Which earned her cutie mark, and also earned her a new name: Squall after a storm and Summer because of her yellow coat. When she was passing through a town called Appleloosa, she saw a building catch fire. Using her water magic, she helped to put out the blaze, and was offered to settle in town as the first official pony fire brigade. Also, she could make small rainclouds, handy for helping keep the field of appletrees watered. It's a pretty easy life actually, despite all the town's buildings being made of wood, so she has plenty of free time to wander about, she isn't the only pony in the brigade. Summer tends to be the timid type, though nowhere near as timid as fluttershy for example. She does tend to get a bit full of herself when she uses her magic however.
