Yup, they're definitely cooler when they're familiar. And you're most welcome IRockZ
-
You're very welcome, glad you like it. Ponies with short hair are always the hardest and I get a little nervous each time.
-
Thats awesome, she looks like some kind of super hero rescue pony.
-
Twilight has the best dance moves if you ask me.
-
Looks great, and if it is a less painstaking process, then its double great.
I think her eyes make her look like she's in awe of something just off panel.

I don't use Paint Tool Sai myself, but I did some quick checking and I discovered that there's supposedly a command called "Increment," in the selection menu that should be roughly the same as "Expand Selection," in Photoshop. Hope that helps.
-
And now for a rendition of "The life and times of a pufferfish," by Angie Cakes.
-
D'awww! This is adorable! If you don't mind, I'm going to save this one.
-
Cyberpony hooves? With fingers? Too bad Lyra isn't around to see it.
-
Do you not use a selection tool to fill in your colors? I use egophiliac's method with a few modifications and that makes it pretty easy. (I didn't even know the expand selection tool existed, its squirreled away so far in photoshop 7)
-
I had no idea those existed until today, hehe, you learn something new every day.

If you ask me, its her mane that really sells it. Its got that "I just came in out of the rain and I'm drying off" look to it.
-
Personally, I like how he's got some sharp features while still looking mostly soft. Its a nice blend.
-
Is that a frozen heart?
-
Nah, I'm pretty sure its this one: http://i.imgur.com/4yz2c.png Though Sweetie Belle is certainly adorable in Sisterhooves and could use some more love too.
-
I like the second eyes, but maybe thats cause they're very close to the show eyes. Style is usually what an artist does when they find a way to work they enjoy. If you try to force a style, you might end up being unhappy with your work, and thats no fun unless you're being paid.
On the bright side, I was able to tell that this was an adult Sweetie Belle just from the thumbnail.

Wet manes are the best manes.
-
This was a hard one, but its Twilight Sparkle from the opening of Lesson Zero, isn't it?
-
Thanks, you're too kind.
I know what you mean about the empty space Dessa, I tried putting in some furniture or a window in the background, but every time I tried, it looked like it was something stuck to the baker pony's face instead. You're totally right though... maybe a horizontal line would work? I'll have to give that a try sometime.
Also, should I be making ponies with less precious faces?
-
I'm guessing this was a birthday card for someone?
-
Wings certainly would make those kinds of dance moves really easy.
-
Judging from the squiggly lines in her mane, she backed up the sink again? Or maybe knocked over the Ponyville water tower?
-
Sometimes you can't just plaster happiness on your face, but even then it doesn't hurt to have someone to hold onto.
-
Nice expression, teeth can be real tricky to pull off stylistically, but I'd say you found a good way to make them work.

You're very welcome Kite, it was no trouble at all.
I use photoshop 7.0 for most of my art needs, if I had the moneys, I might upgrade to a newer version, but for the most part the only thing I really miss about later editions is that I can't import other people's brushes.
