1. Update: Due to my general inaciveness in the past, and after announcing my coming back here, I decided to start off a clean slate by clearing off any inactive threads. For anyone who was in an older RP with my character and wants to continue it, feel free to PM me about it and I'll be happy to continue with it! :)

I may be slow since I'm still getting into the feel of things since I left, but I'll catch up with with the swing of it, I promise~!

  2. Oh! Uh, hey guys. Some of you may remember me from waaaaaay back. Others? Er, not so much.

I left the site around April/May without warning, mostly due to real life stress, former feelings regarding the site's direction, and among other things that I feel too lazy to discuss in depth at the moment. :P But now I'm back, I see that the site is in the process of making some nice changes, and I am slowly integrating myself into the wonderful world of ponies from which I took a break from!

For those of you who still remember me and may have been in threads that I dropped by default of my departial, I'm here to poke it and apologies for said silent thread-dropping. :v I may attempt to start off on a clean slate (I've actually done a bit more roleplay for another fandom or two - my responses have got surprisingly faster, though I still tend to write at the speed of molasses) though if you want to poke in and continue an old thread with me/what not, just give me a poke?

I'm still weening myself back into ponies (gonna be rewatching the show from the beginning just to get pumped), so I might not get back into RP too immediately. It'll come sooner than later though, so don't be surprised if you see my characters/handle on here more often. :3

  3. Not leaving, just here to notify that, forum RP-wise, post responses have/will still be panning out much slower than usual (though Jadebug = kinda slow reply-er anywho). Co-curricular choir (particularly in preparation for the New England Music Festival in March) and schedule-related planning/craziness involving plans for what I'll be doing once I graduate in June are primarily to blame.

...I should have said this much earlier, I know. For those of you who are currently in/planning to RP with me in the near future. My megaton-riffic apologies guys. *-*

  4. Figurines to arrange, and perhaps a few more prices to bump down. With Joy out in the back room, the older mare’s apprentice worked diligently - perhaps too much so, as she didn’t even notice the dark figure making their way along the path from the display front. As the mysterious stranger made its way toward the front door, the pegasus began humming what vaguely sounded like the tune of ‘The Little Drummer Colt’ as she finished up. As far as Swift Kite was concerned, the knock of the door was the first thing that hinted at somepony’s arrival.

“Heh, didn’t think anypony’d be here...” She mumbled under her breath. The humming ceased of course, and the young mare brushed more tinsel behind her ears, its unintentional embellishment aligning her mint green bandanna whilst confronting the source. The door swung open without much haste - and at first glance, the plucky, red-pink pegasus seem unfazed by the cloaked, if not ominous-looking unicorn by the now open entrance.

“Hey there- I mean, uh, welcome to Joy’s Toy Shop!” Swift flashed a smile - a sheepish one, as customer greetings weren’t her forté, but it was still a stark contrast compared to her acquaintance’s stoic expression. “How may I hel- oh! Sorry, should’ve let you come in first...” She stepped aside to make way for entry, scolding herself mentally.

Within view, the shop’s inside was just as welcoming as its quirky, colourful exterior. Hoof and unicorn-made toys of many sorts - perhaps dragon-made as well, at least for the wooden figurines - lined the shelves. They appeared of quality grade for a cottage plunked in the middle of nowhere.

“So uh, anything you need?” The young mare said.

For somepony having coming across a peculiar cloaked acquaintance, she wasn’t all that perplexed by her presence...maybe she was thinking that the figure was like any other toy-seeking customer, or perhaps she just didn’t bother with judging a toy by its paint job.

  5. Because updates are mandatory:

    balancingpierrot.png

You might have either seen this either in my gallery or my latest app, but I'll just pointlessly advertise place this in here anyhow. 'Tis my first stallion-based drawing, but I'm really, really happy about this (those leg joints and the fact that there's a background, for starters). The quirky pony you see is Pierrot, a wandering Prench (or excuse me, Fancy)-Itailian actor and (secondly and slightly less of an) illusionist who, like many ponies in this day and age, seems to be lacking in luck in regard of the job department.

...oh, and he's mute. And perhaps has his origins set within the prestigious Circo dell'Arte. And yes, the 'dell'Arte' portion was blantly taken from artfully incorperated due to him being concieved after researching Commedia dell'Arte for his characterization (though technically Pierrot - the stock character, I mean - didn't exist until the troupe made its way into France).

Also, while this song has be pushed into peoples' faces almost as much as that illustration,

    :D
  6. Winter. The weather behind its veil of white could be a fickle mistress, but the midday snowfall was relatively light within Saddleveil Plains.

Even still, next to what appeared to be a quirky, colourful-looking cottage with with a glass display front, it was beginning to cover the path connecting Fillydelphia and Ponyville. Some spots were aligned with cobblestone, but it seemed otherwise a dirt road the farther a pony traveled north. It remained visible still, however, for now atleast, along with any particular ponies who may be roaming about for the time being. Nonetheless, the residents within the aforementioned dwelling worked with diligence, without much mind to the conditions outside.

An elderly, lilac-coated mare sat behind the counter, appearing to attempt fixing a toy train without much success. From the look of her pale pupils and aimless gaze, even the wide set of glasses she wore didn’t help her see what clearly needed to be mended. With a heavy sigh, she turned around and called out:

“Swifty, you think mebbe ye can watch th’ storefront? Methinks I’ll man the workshop for the time being...

It didn’t take long for a cranberry-coloured pegasus to burst through the end of a narrow hallway from across the checkout desk. Both wings and sky blue mane were haphazardly wrapped in silver tinsel, as though having come back from trying (and unsuccessfully) putting away stuff left over from the last Hearth Winter. A chipper “Mmhm!” escaped her muzzle and, with a chuckle and light facepalm from her superior, the elderly mare and Swift Kite traded working spaces.

Aside from pushing aside pieces of entangled adornment from her face, she seemed to ignore the shimmery trimming that coiled around her. Business was especially slow after the holiday rush, considering how spread out the cottage-like store was from other towns. Either way, the young mare went happily to work, organizing shelves here and there while replacing price signs with lower, after-the-holiday salemarks.

  7. ^A point you do raise, yeah, that's very intention for the most part - they don't quite exactly fill up an entire room, but yeah. It's more of something that he might on certain occasions use in acts, or charades and the like. Or both. Sillyllusions of lightheartedness they are, m'dear Mamascotch. :D

  8. I get the impression that Pierrot was rather groomed by his family to be an illusionist, and he ended up spectacular at pantomime. :) Illusion magic is supposed to be fairly difficult though, and his special talent is definitely a complex mixture of making people laugh and masking his own feelings, not necessarily illusion magic, which is a dicey subject within board canon as it is.

HOWEVER, I am 100% OK if his "illusion magic" is really just regular lifting things in a fine tuned manner. If the magic users in the troupe just as a family secret perfected the art of ethereally manipulating a particulate matter like glitter? The audience wouldn't know the difference...plus it'd be SPARKLIERER! It would be great if he could hone his skills one day to actually form words above his head!

Prench-Itailian Hmm. Prance hasn't been officially incorporated into the map. I get it, I get that the accent definitely exists in-universe, but I am trying to think of what you can call it without referencing a place that technically doesn't exist! :wail:

Also, is he left in care of both his aunt the bearded lady, and his aunt the illusionist?

Other than that he is fantastic and well thought out. I want to snuggle his little face <3

Oi vey. Where have I been all this time?

    Anyhow, time for critique respondence!

    1. While you've definitely an interesting suggestion for ammending the whole illusion bit, I wasn't even intending him to be an uber amazing illusionist in the first place. *-* I thought that mentioning being 'caraictured' would have given the intended implication that it was just that: Cariactured. Mostly just symbols and figments that, while they may be used to form shapes and the like with particular concentration, don't even begin to measure into something close to, say enveloping an entire area in realistic, dramatically overpowered glamour. Basically, at most, it's just something that would be amusing to see in a performance for its novelty instead of how 'ermerger eets AMAZING'ness, and likely to be used when trying to communicate to somepony without words (therefore explaining why he normally doesn't nail a lot of jobs, since they're more nonsencical than impressively overpowered).

Perhaps it could even be said that it aids in his special talent, as opposed to seeming completely different from it (as it involves both making ponies happy as well portraying emotion - whether he hides it or otherwise). Mentioning Phantasm* was just a way to hint at explaining how he even managed aquire even that level of magic usage, as opposed saying that he had a higher percentile of magic mastery.

Also --- and I'm really really sorry for coming off as a pest, Scotchie. I don't like arguments, and I know you and the others have dealt with people nitpicking at your critiques while completely missing the point of them --- Rarity, while it's generally assumed that finding gems is the only thing she can do beyond telekinesis, may also have used illusion magic in "Suited For Success" for the scenery surrounding the Mane 6's attire near the end (skip to 18:35 to save time). If going by the notion that Twi's didn't help behind the scenes or something, it appears that the Element of Generosity has plenty more powerful illusion magic that mister mutepony, hmm?

    2. Fixed that tout de suite (right away). Replaced Prench with Fancy. Yeah. Not the most ideal way of going about that, but it'll have to do.

    * = 3. Oh. And the illusionist is his uncle, not another aunt. I read the app over and added a word or two here and there to make it a little more clear.

    4. And because I'd rather not finish on a sour note....aww, thanks Scotchie. :D I think he'll appreciate all the snuggles he can get. Poor guy. <3

And for what was mentioned in note number 1, I'm just gonna wait to see what your/anyone elses' thoughts are as far as magic usage goes, so I won't make too many edits beyond what was listed under 2 and 3 until there's either a final say or more persuasion/replies indicating to make the changes as listed. Jadebug shall be ah waiting~

  9. Still waiting for Harlequin to make an appearance

Silly Dio, don't you mean Lovestrong? Er, I mean, there's always a chance I may app him too at some point, though not at the moment. Because Sibling Wars: The Older Brother Strikes Back would totally be worth the wait. :P

  10. As someone whose range of music is a leeeeetle bit varied with perhaps a few shining trends (I like a lot of folk rock/folk in general, soul/neo-soul, synth music - yes, even some dubstep, (can tolerate some) modern pop, a whole bunch of music from the early 50s and back...), I'm having a hard time deciding. Also Scotchie, LOVE the links you've put up for alt. country music. Admittedly, I don't quite like as many modern country song (okay, so maybe you could find some more of those that are good, but eh), but I'll have to say that music from said genre back then is a little different than that of today's (on a good way).

Though to list some modern country artists/bands that I've found/like IMO: Lady Antebellum, Christina Lambert, Crystal Bowersox (yes, the one American Idol contestent with the sister-locks), Darius Rucker, and Little Big Town. Does anyone else have a few more to add to the list?

...as for anything else? I'll just lurk back into the shadows, waiting for someone to point out much they loathe choral music. I'll make sure to spam them constantly with as much Eric Whitarce as possible show them a few beautifully arranged songs by Eric Whitacre, along with some other interesting choral stuff. :3

  11. How do you say his name?

Roughly speaking, it can either be pronounced "PE-eh-row" or "Pyeh-row", if you're going by the English pronunciation (Pierrot is named after a stock character/a type of clown known in French pantomime/Commedia dell'Arte).

...so uh, yeah. Sorry about that. Will add that to his application, because Fancy names are too Fancy not to have them.

  12. " ... I'm going to make some more tea. I'll be right back !"

Swift Kite could barely even shoot Moondrop an ‘okay’ nod before the young mare dashed for the kitchen. Taking a biscuit for herself, a rather bewildered look dawned her face. With a few nibbles of her snack, it receded to make way for a passive shrug.

“I...uh, guess we’re not her only company?” She said between bites. She scratched the side of her bandanna-covered mane - perhaps a certain white unicorn wasn’t the only novice toy-related businessmare.

Patches could only counter with silence. He had noticed Moondrop’ nervously peeking at him, so his mind didn’t doubt one bit that his own presence had something to do with it. A muffled yet sharp sound made its way into the livingroom, one decipherable with a pair of keen ears. The sound certainly reached the dragon himself, and it took every ounce of wanting to maintain his dignity not to curl up into a temporary ball. Glancing at his bag, he snuck out a handful of gems, trying (and failing) to maintain a casual air whilst finally having something to properly fill his stomach.

….and of course, frankly on cue, a certain white mare could be seen hurrying on back. In a sudden panic, he practically stuffed what uneaten jewels he still had into his mouth, adding just a pinch more to his companion’s perplexity.

"He he ... sorry for that."

The newer fixture of biscuits and tea was quite strange, to say the least. He tried to swallow the gems as he was hoofed over the jug, but alas - he only managed to make out some gargled choking. Thinking quickly he tipped the jug over to his mouth, appearing to take a drink. It proved to be a good place to spit out some of his excess snackage, and sipping intervals made it easier to drink up a mixture of tea and and glimmering sapphires. As the duo listened to the the apprehensive unicorn, Swift Kite spoke up in the midst of Moondrop’s eventual loss of cohesive words.

“Now, wait just a minute! I don’t mean to interrupt ‘n such, but really - if you’ve got other guests around, you don’t have to keep it secret.” If honesty meant completely missing the point, then she was certainly nailing it in the forehead. “And look, I’m pretty sure it’s my first time in Canterlot, so uh, you’re not the only nervous one of the bunch, ‘kay?” She flashed a nervous, if not confused smile.

A particular orange dragon could be seen shakily nodding his head, the creature hastily finishing up another gulp of his tea - and covertly, what gems he’d scooped up. With that, he chimed into the conversation. “Um, f-forgot to say thanks for the tray and beverage, s-so um...th-thanks...” He said timorously.

Yet another awkward person to contribute to an already awkward conversation, and one that seemed to lack a graceful resolve.

  13. Roleplay Type: World of Equestria RP

    Name: Pierrot (PE-eh-row or Pyeh-row)

    Sex: Male

    Age: Young stallion

    Species: Unicorn

    Eye colour: A pale, grey-ish blue (#6699CC)

    Coat: Ghost white (#F8F8FF)

Mane/Tail: Black (#1F1F1F) with royal blue highlights (#002366). Both are rather wavy, with his mane protruding his face yet not quite covering his eyes. While the tip of his tail hovers just above the ground, his mane just barely inches past his back.

Physique: About as tall as most stallions, Pierrot maintains an agile frame that serves best for quirky hijinks built on stage magic, a secular range of tumbling with a pinch of acrobatics, and circus-induced whimsy. His strength beyond that isn't much useful, however, as he isn't quite athletic in the conventional, jock-that-can-run-the-marathon-and-lift-twice-their-own-size sense.

Residence: Formally on the road by his lonesome, usually being seen about in towns or cities, or at least traveling in the direction of one. Ever since leaving the circus, he’s hadn't a real home to speak of, minus whatever he managed to live on at a day-by-day basis. Though he has now joined The Traveling Players, he doesn't quite have a home base for himself outside of tours and general troupe shenanigans.

Occupation: Once disbanded from his parents' troupe, he was traveling street performer and mime artist in his own right, at one point lacking a stable, concrete job. On-going wanderlust aside, Pierrot was on the move due to searching for a place in the world of theatre...of which, while were certainly sects for non-verbal ponies such as himself in the performing arts, depending of where one l;ooked, he had the tendency to search for roles in all the wrong places.

However? Still being able to do what he loves, joining "Celestia's Court" as some call it, has changed his job luck for the better.

Cutie Mark: The comedy (grey) and tragedy (blue) masks overlapping by the chin, with the overlapped section coloured a deep blue as though the middle of a venn diagram. The comedy's smile appears asymmetrical while the tragedy's frown is replaced/hidden by the venn diagram-like middle. Both are surrounded by four golden yellow stars.

The hidden frown of the tragedy mask represents a few things: How Pierrot tends to prefer comedy over the latter in his routines (both archaically and in today's usage), and those occasional moments where he’s prone to ‘mask’ his sadness for the wellbeing of others, even at his own expense. The lop-sided smile of the comedy mask represents his creativity as well how he can be particularly expressive – even if it's not through talkative means. As for the overlapped bit and the stars, the former links both masks as two intertwining forces; the latter merely shows that he's a bit of a dreamer.

He received his around mid foalhood. The troupe settled down for a few days of rest within the countryside, and the colt’s aunt – known as Golden Curl or “The Bearded Mare” while performing – was teaching him how to balance on a ball. Whilst following her instructions, he could barely stand on the large sphere without losing his balance, the only thing preventing a painful fall each time being Curly as his spotter. Disappointed by his lack of progress, the young colt was about to give up on the ordeal when the mare had halted him to a stop. With that, she said the following:

“But mon petit poney, it is just as important to learn how to fall as it is to perform! Consider it as part of an act.”

With that in mind, Golden Curl quite literally taught him such: Lessons on balancing were put aside, and they acquired a practice mat used for stunts to review landing techniques. While he may have known how to position himself in case he fell without a spotter, he hadn’t quite learned how to ‘fall with style’ per say. It was a surprisingly fun little activity which was put into practice with a few tumbling techniques, and after that and a small lunch break, the two went back to practice and set the ball onto the mat.

The young Pierrot wasn’t perfect, and he again was spotted for his falls, but he was growing better with each try as the afternoon went on. Some of the troupe’s performers, mainly other relatives as opposed to his immediate family, began to watch him practice from a distance before eventually surrounding the foal like an audience, and at one point even attained near-perfect balance…until he had rolled the ball under his hind legs a little too fast, and Golden Curl wasn’t fast enough to catch him. The unicorn foal would have landed hard on his back, at least had he not managed to use what he’d learned to angle himself just enough amid the fall to land the other way. With quick thinking, he made a speedy summersault as soon as he landed on the mat, the witty save – once shown that he was okay – having prompted the familial audience to laugh heartily and hoofclap for his amusing showmareship.

Wearing a wide grin the young colt had bowed, barely even noticing his Cutie Mark's presence until after the fact.

    History:

Being the youngest of Commedia and Lunaire’s two sons, Pierrot comes from a long line of ringmasters who run Circo dell'Arte. Though he is of both Itailian and rather Fancy descent, his family’s troupe being on the move, along with tall-tale retellings from extended family of his circumstances, makes it difficult to pinpoint the exact locale of his birth. Either way, being raised in a circus brought forth happy memories as well as its tiresome growing pains.

In normal circumstances, or at least “normal” as far as the family business went, oddities of all sorts have always been received with open hooves – that is, if they didn’t get in the way of – or even better: If said oddity enhanced – a performance. Being one of two direct airs of the troupe’s most important members made way for plenty of pressure, and when compared to his flashy and rather vocal brother Harlequin, Pierrot’s muteness made it quite clear that the elder would presume the role as the future owner of the circus. After all, what was a ringmaster without a compelling voice? While his brother’s life had been planned out to a vigorous degree, the younger of the two was left with, more often than not, in the care of a certain floofy facial-haired aunt, as well as with Circo’s illusionist, his uncle Phantasm, on occasion.

Though never intended from the start, Lunaire and Commedia didn’t know what to make of his condition, and their unassuming lack of attention from both sire and dam made it so that he was never quite as close to them as many are to their parents. Still, it wasn’t as though he was left in complete neglect, and aunt Curly and uncle Phan did their best to ensure that, in spite of the circumstances, he still had as happy of a foalhood as anypony could have.

His intermediate years were, in his mindset, not the greatest in retrospect. Cutie mark notwithstanding, finding one’s place in the world is not always easy for a pony, and Pierrot found it increasingly harder to, pun not intended, find his voice within the family-run circus. Exactly why he left isn’t exactly lucid upon explanation, but one thing was clear: He often found himself typecasted amongst the sidelines, usually as somepony’s assistant fool or working behind the scenes, roles that didn't quite emphasize his theatrical strengths. Piling that with a growing case of sibling rivalry, and perhaps a pinch of heartbreak involving his former colthood sweetheart, a renaissance mare – or filly in this case – named Colombina (try as you might, he normally doesn’t like talking – figuratively – about the specifics behind the breakup), one could say that bad luck was ever pertaining before he struck out on his own.

As one may figure from what was mentioned beforehoof, he's been on the road ever since he reached the cusp of stallionhood, eventually coming across and joining The Traveling Players. With nothing in his possession but his talents, will, and the occasional random object he finds that serve useful performance-wise, Pierrot is making his mark in the world, one performance at a time.

    Character Summary:

Sentimental yet playful, Pierrot is an animated young stallion for a pony who can’t vocally speak. Since even a story-less, acrobatic performance containing bright/gaudy costumes requires a stirring act, and because as opposed to in spite of his mutism, it’s easy to say that this prevalent quirk had been retained and honed relentlessly whilst living amongst the circus, even when out of the spotlight. Bearing an outward streak of upbeat perseverance, he may come off as rather naïve to a seemingly comical degree, especially when in the face of new encounters of many sorts: For example, Pierrot has been known to thrown mini-performances – usually with harmless, amusing (though nothing huge-scale) stage magic during interviews for temporary odd-jobs, even when said interview is not related to his actual expertise. Though his spontaneity can make for some pretty irrational premises, his tendency to try and impress is most often met with genuine intention.

For convenience sake, of course, he’ll write things down that he needs to ‘say’ so to speak. Yet even then, he has a fondness for using illusion magic (mainly caricatured, even cartoon-like representations of living beings and objects as opposed to overpowered grandeur) and various gestures with both fore and hind legs to get the (literal) message across whenever he can get away with it – charades in other words, though with a pinch of magic.

Though perhaps not a total living example of the ‘sad clown’ archetype, Pierrot’s special talent pertains to the performing arts, whether through improv or within the means of many a visual gag and expressive fancy – and in particular, seeing ponies light up to what he shares and pours his heart into is what, to him, makes it all worth it. Due to this – especially as a colt – he was prone to putting more value in the audience, or just about anyone he would perform for, over that of himself, sometimes to the point of disregarding his own worth. While he’s grown as a person since such brooding habits, on rare occasion he might lapse within these seemingly forlorn thoughts, particularly when he’s down on his luck. Through and through however, inspite of being on the go having its drawbacks, Pierrot still manages on his own with a steady stride, the young the unicorn’s buoyant moxie still urging him on.

  14. A few things to throw out there:

Actors/actresses - there's a whole lot of range one could use for this, and I'm not just talking about a ponified Broadway show either - perhaps some of 'em could even be carnies. Speaking of such, here's a character in mind I've had for a while - a thespian mute unicorn named Pierrot. Maybe I should plan on apping him sooner than later?

Techies - You know, the people behind the fancy curtains! Those who set up lighting, sound effects, create costumes, apply makeup, making sure that things run smoothy as others enjoy the show. This 'un is also open for many possibilities, from plays, musicals, fashion shows, concerts, ext.

TOY MAKERS/TOYSHOP KEEPERS - Eeyup. Aside from my Swift Kite and Patches (and perhaps an NCP of mine), I've only heard of a few other character that happen to fill either of these role. It's rather sad - are my peggy and young dragon who work at a toy stop in the middle of nowhere that's right at an intersect of a path between Ponyville and Filly (and a few notable others) the only souls who make and sell playthingsfor the young at heart? Jeeze, Equestria's really lacking in the toy department...

Creators of fabfric, dyes, strings, yada-yada - We have plenty of designer/fashion ponies, but what about the colts and fillies who are talented enough to make their materials in the first place, huh? Or better tey, why can't there be a few smiths out there who specialize in molding pieces and parts for brass instruments? Why can't people go beyond the obvious professions and ctrate characters who make it so these professions can be fulfilled in the first place?

She still partook in the chase, however, and before she could even think about tending to her cuts, Gale couldn’t help but snicker at Thorn’s comment - all of which was true, by any means.

There was a part of her wanting to just...well...give up on the chase. To just let the calf go home. Gale followed Thorn as he went into a faster gallop, the jack in frustrated pursuit, and Gale knowing better, at least for now, than to make an attempt to ditch the chase.

  16. You know, I'm starting to feel as though there's a little too much of me art-posting and too little feedback. Ah well!

Anyways, you see the sketch from above? Welp, I edited/finished it up today! Lookee here:

    streamer.png

I've decided to officially name her Streamer, as in for party streamers. In a nutshell, she's basically a semi-introverted, artsy fartsy party planner - and by introverted (though not Fluttershy-esque, introversion and shyness are two different things), she oddly enough feel more a home/is a bit more social at parties, special occasions and holiday events than in normal, everyday situations. Leblablablah, insert-more-tl;dr-blurb-here~

  17. 63) Magic is not an excuse for anypony with any sort of physical limitations for them to function with full motility/senses as though they were never disabled in the first place. After all, wouldn't be rather straining for your blind unicon to use their 'totes specialz second sight' to 'see beyond' 24/7? And it'd get rather tiring (if not wearing on the throat) for somepony who is mute to cast a spell that grants them to use their own variation of the Royal Canterlot Capslock Voice at will.

    64) 'Being a DJ' is not your day job.

    65) Your soul is that of the normal pony and/or creature that you were born as. Marey Sew, I'm looking at you.

  18. Aaaaaand...welp, even more OC-related drawings, including a sketch of someone elses character:

    patchesfours.png

I'm not quite as happy with this one as I am with Patches standing, especially proportional-wise (and the fact that how I draw dragons varies differently than the shows). Before Dragon Quest, I thought that teens would be a little less anthro-ish (or at least be such to a lesser degree), but even after said episode, I still plan/see him as walking on his fours more often than not, simply because most ponies would feel a little intimidated if he were to loom over them on his hind legs.

Also, a rule of thumb: The average adult mare, assuming their tallest point is the tip top of their ears, would basically stand a few inches taller than where his wings meet his back. Thus, he'd roughly be around Luna's Season 2 heigh, if not a teeny smidge taller. He a rather lanky dragon, I know.

    (And spoiler'd because old sketch):

    ribbonpony.png

Random pony sketch of a random pony design that I really, really like at the moment. I think it's the mane. Or tail. Or her eyes. Will hope to finish this up soon, and possibly give a name for this ribbon-themed equine, and perhaps a bit of backstory too.

    miasketch.png

And last but certainly not least, a slightly more detailed sketch of Apolline Allura's griffin chatacer, Aposemati - or as she prefers, Miasma Vice! This is definitely on my to-finish list.

And before people start requesting freebies outta me, here's what I'll say: Nnnope. 'Twas draw for someone who was a leetle clower to me as far as the internet friend hierarchygoes, but even, 'twas just something drawn at random, as requests aren't the most motivating way of getting me to draw at the moment.

  19. 54) Your coat color - whether pitch black, red, or some other 'scary' or 'gothic' palette - is not the reason why your parents, superiors and peers despise, make fun of, ridicule, harrass, abandon or otherwise drive you into being the edgy little angst waffle you are.

    55) Actually, scratch out angst waffle - a bit of sadness is alright, but keep in mind that Equestria isn't exactly Silent Hill.

    56) Being a hybrid is not a way of getting away with rule 54. Of course, confusion and misunderstandings are bound to happen, but if the whole land keeps getting filled with "half breeds" who are totally bitter and unrealistically asocial over their circumstances 99.9% of the time, then we might as well call it Equestria by another name: 'Murica. No offense to the US. I live there. =|

    57) The term 'half breed' also doesn't exist. There's a reason why I used quotation marks in the last 'un. And by the way, it's particularly insulting to call someone that in real life, so why some people even use the term in the Mane RP, where things are supposed to be a little more on the G-rated side, is rather mind-boggling.

  20. Gale continued to maneuver her way out from the mini-minefield of splinters and glass, nodding at Thorn as she did. It didn’t take long, however, before the little jenny let out an eyeroll - at Honovi, specifically. As much as she found the chase fun while it lasted, the calf really seemed to be pushing the limits.

“Oh fer cryin’ out loud...” With a groan a few agile sprints, she averted her way out from the sprawled shards and wood, quickly catching up. Glancing behind her, the jenny plucked a prominent splinter sticking out from her shoulder and promptly spit it out by her open side - not the most ladylike action, but impressing anypony - or in this case, a buffalo and a jack - was the last thing she was hellbent on doing at the moment.

“Hey you -” the sorrel donkey rose her voice at the calf in front of his pursuers. “ - Haven’ ya had enough chase scenes in ah day!?”

  21. Heya - I'm pretty sure that this is where I should ask this, and here's a little problem that's popped up : For some reason, in just about every topic I've been to that is somewhere in World Of Equestria RP, it says 'You cannot reply to this topic' on the right hand corner above the first post, and in any of its subforms it says "You cannot start a new topic" above the form's topics (with both messages next to 'Mark this form as read/go to first unread post' on its right).

Now before you answer, I would like to say that yes, I have characters submitted and accepted (5 at the moment, will be growing....anyday now...), so the problem shouldn't be due to me not being on the RP list, right? I'm bringing this up since there are a few RPs at the moment that are waiting on me and I happen to have finished post, and it's a little inconvenient that I can't exactly reply to them at the moment. .-.
