1. S'more updatin' (spoilers because largness)~

    wisteria.png

A potential character design for another OC I may app, Wisteria Bloom. Her Cutie Mark will likely have something to do with the flower she's named after, but how it'll be used/shaped will be a little more creative than just 'stick some flowers on her flanks and call it her special talent'. For at least a basic idea on what she might be personality-wise, let's just say that I'm incorperating both European and Japanese interpretation of the flower's symbolism and see what you can come up with...

  2. ...alright, well I kinda figured that you would guess she had multiple personalities from when I said she had voices... :3

Excuse me, while I don't mean to butt in or get off topic, but someone having a 'multiple personalities'/dissociative personality disorder and hearing voices are not quite one in the same. Sure, the etymology of the word schitzophrenia literally means 'split mind', but as a medical disorder? While the symtoms and affects of various contitions may overlap, and can be hard to discern when someone has multiple disorders with related syptoms, a characterer that has a 'split' personality isn't enough of an indication to affirm what type of schitzophrenia they would have, let alone schitzophrenia in general. While I already know that Mane and Tales have ruled that out (and I agree with them on the matter), and as much as I'd rather not sound like a know-it-all, I just wanted to point that out.

  3. Quick update! I whipped this up a while ago, but I sort of forgot that I even had a thread open. Silly me. ^-^;;

    Gale.png

'Tis gale, my little donky. Her legs/belly/eyes are supposed to take on a beige color, but scanners can be quite fickle. I think I'm the only one on the 'net who's a fan of the female donkey (or at least Matilda's) design, methinks.

  4. hi hi

I admit it, I'm a sucker for those little curly things. :) Also: I'm really rather curious about Splatter's hair color. Are those beads different colors than the rest of her mane?

As someone with curly hair myself, so am I! :D As for Splatter's mane, I was trying to make her mane appear to have particularly thick/curly hair without going for the usual curly Qs (or create an exact replica of the linework used for Pinkie's hair). I haven't quite out a mane color however: I was thinking about giving her a blue or purple mane, with the latter being more of a red-violet or a shade of indio as to differentiate from Rarity's hair color (as I intend on giving Splatter an off-white pelt). Though now that you brough up the 'beads', I think I might use two or more colors for her mane...

  5. Gale couldn’t help but slip a smirk at the acknowledgement of their names, resisting the urge to lightly giggle at the monk’s hint of dry wit. Taking wind of the stallion’s related questions, Gale looked over at Plucky once more, who was dragging a her talons back and forth as the hen eyed spacily as nopony in particular; the perfect “I’m innocent” pose, not that she had much to do with the donkey being up so early. Making a subtle shrugging motion, she set her gaze back on Zephyr and Swift Breeze.

“Eh, not quite.” She answered Swift first, “She jus’ follows me around some. Plucky’s more of a pet than a farm animal, but speakin’ ah which,” The little jenny turned more towards Zephyr. “We - my brother an’ I - we moved jus’ this week, from our family’s farm I mean. But the house he got? It’s a little, well, beat up in places...” Gale scuffled a forehoof nervously at the understatement.”But m’ brother, Finch, he’s stardin’ up business as ah repair jack, so things aren’t too bad. Still, we’ve been fixin’ up the place since we got ‘ere! He lemme take a break from workin’ today, so that’s why’m up early.”

The warm desert air was slowly started to take the place of last night’s chill, but that seemed to be the last thing on the donkey’s mind. While she noticed the warmth creeping alongside the rising sun, such an instance didn’t particularly matter much in her mind. After all, Gale was anything but an indoor show horse, and while the sweltering heat could be bothersome while working on their new home, it was more of a tedious thing than an annoying setback.

  6. I'm adopted, and while I appreciate the whole "you don't need to be a frat boy to be a boy" dynamic, I think I should cover the adoption part of the story, if only because far less people here will have any context for it.

Most stories about adopted children use it as a trope to have a quest for your 'true family' and, often, finding out about some secret that makes you special (Harry Potter and the Hercules movie are two examples). And that's all very well and good except the message it inevitably sends is that your real family is your biological one. Most of these stories end up with the child or teen staying with his 'deal's family.

This makes for great escapist tween dreck when your family is getting annoying and you want to imagine your alien/wizard/mermaid/devine parents will drop in any second to reveal an amazing ability you have and whisk you away to adventure. But for adopted children it denies the reality of your family and insists that they can't love you nor can you be happy with them.

I went through what Spike did. I don't look like any of my family and want to understand myself better. And I am so glad that Twilight was supportive of this. Yes, it looked like they might loose Spike but as his guardian, she wanted Spike to be happy.

I was glad the message at the end was supporting adopted families being a real and valid family. I was glad they emphasized that with little Pipsqueak. I am tired of adoptive parents being shown as either abusive or, at best, okay but never as good as the real thing.

I suspect Princess Celestia's letter was encouraging Spike on his quest but it might also have been saying where his egg was found. After all, I'm surprised they never asked her.

    ^THIS. SO MUCH.

    *ahem*

Being adopted myself, I'll admit that, at least at first, I had been a little dissapointed with the episode. Specifically, I didn't see any message beyond "Spike wats to know more about his dragon origins, but gains nothing out of it after running into the dragon equivalent of a group of fratboys" and felt as though the adoption message had been completely lost. But the more I thought about it, and the more I read about others' interpretation of the episode, I have more respect for the (now more complex) message that was being conveyed. I believe that my former oppinion was due to various things, the main one being that, still being a young 'un, I've yet to completely go through that stage where I come in contact with my biological origins, so maybe I was hoping for a different outcome for Spike that would give us, the viewers, more answers.

But I'm glad that you're the first one to have given some deeper insight on the adoptive perspective, and to be honest, you really hit the doornail there. The whole "adopted kid in a plain/boring family that goes on an epic journey to discover just how awesome they and their 'real' parents are" is especially overdone, even if it's a little better than the (dated) wicked stepmother trope (and when both tropes/literary devices are combined...let's just say that it becomes riddled with unfortunate implications). My likeing/respect has been earned for you plentyfold.

  7. Hmmmm, now that you mentioned it, I've wanted to put Gale in Bistro's Grand Opening for awhile. I have another Appleloosan character I want to apply (her brother), though right now I've been filling out (and have writer's block on) another one entirely. Maybe I could have Gale enter the inn and have her brother join later once he get's accepted?

  8. Aaaaaaand, here's some pony doodles:

    prettypony.png

This isn't really an OC as much as it's...a random pony I drew. I'll probably have it be an adoptable/give it to someone who really wants to use the design for a character of their own.

    splattertinge.png

Once I get Gear Savvy's application done (and once I finish Gale's brother's app), you just might be seeing my dye-making/botanist pony, Splatter Tinge, showing up in the RP. And as for the random blotches on her pelt, they're just dye stains...or you know, splatters on a very pale coat, hence the name.

And as Dio nicknamed her in chat..........Liartinge

  9. Welp, it's time to update! This thread isn't dead, or at least I hope so...

Some multimedia stuff from my visual journal (in spoilers because size):

    eye-2.png

An experiment I did with collage work, acrylic, paints and some charcoal pastels. I first made an eye-shaped collage of magazine scraps before painting it over. Then I peeled and folded over some of collage pieces. 'Twas quite fun!

    ^^

    shining_star_by_xthexjadedxbugx-d33vosi.pngflower0001.png

My first two experimental collage pieces. Again I used magazine cutout, but with these I used felt tip pens and water colors.

    crow.png

And last but not least, another collage experiment. This time I only used a sponge-like thing to add splotches of acrylic paint. Frankly, that was the only easy part about making this.

And on a small note, I'd rather not spam this page with every single thing I've submitted on my dA account. These here are actually some early stuff that I did (as in last year and the year before). Some of my stuff on there will likely show up on here with more updates, but I'll mostly focus on pony-related art/doodles.

Oh! and my first gif. I found out that, well, they're incredibly easy to make actually:

  10. Well folks, I knew I'd have to do this sooner or later...*braces everyone before they face a plethora of text*

    1. Flying and/or buzzing insects in general. For the exeption of bees and wasps, I can tollerate it when I see insects...that is, when they're on some sort of surface. But when they're not? Let's just say that, unless they can't sting or give bug bites, I'll stay away from them as far as possible. And when they make noise? I was once startled by a vibrating phone because I thought there was a bee in the living room, so I'll just point out that it only amplifies my flying insect paranoia. Oh! And ladybugs, moths and house flies will send me running. Especially ladybugs, those sneaky *******s.

    2. Being upsidedown in midair/falling. The latter fear isn"t quite as strong as of late, but ever since I went on this one ride called "The Ring of Fire" (aka, one giant rollercoaster track in the form of a circle that goes around and around and around...), I've never been able to stomache going on any upsidedown rollercoaster ride. I'm somewhat alright with going down one at a fast speed, since I usually go from "GET ME OFF OF THIS THING!" at the beginning to "THAT WAS SO AWESOME! LET'S DO IT AGAIN!" once it actually finishes, but anything else...*shudders*

    3. Talking in front of groups of people while being (or feeling) unprepaired. I'll admit that I used to be ridiculously timid, and maybe I still am to an extent, but even when I was little I was good about keeping calm durring school plays, choir concerts, and the like. But anything else, however, is a different story altogether. Unless I do something, like doing a ton of rehearsing what I might have to say, and unless I feel that I have everything I need, I have an extremely hard time with making presentations, even if I'm part of a group rather than alone. Even if I double-check that I have everything down, I then worry about how I present myself, because looking at an audiece (size reguardless) makes me feel really uncomfortable, and attempting to look at the wall or some random object while talking just makes me look like I'm spacing out (which has been and can be a problem with concerts and past plays, but in those cases, for some unknown reason, it's a lot easier for me to overcome them).

Also, when I'm really anxious/nervous/stressed out in general, I'm particularly prone to pausing and doing TONS of stuttering while possibly being prone to making lisps, which thusly makes me look like an idiot who knows absolutely nothing on the subject of which I'm talking about, even when most people would have no difficulty at all. Or sometimes I don't even bother to speak at all when I'm nervous, just so I don't have to deal with said stuttering/lisping/looking like an idiot. Combine that with fear number 3 and, well...

    4. Dying a gruesomely painful death/being killed. I'm pretty sure this should be self-explanatory. I'm not afraid of death in general, but of how I'll meet said death. I would rather die peacefully on some sort of deathbed, no matter how long or short my life turns out, than being stabbed in the heart, getting run over by a car...

And last but not least...*takes a deep breath*

    5. The idea of meeting either one of my biological parents. Yes, I just so happen to be adopted, and yes, I live in a supportive/caring/loving family that may or may not tend to treat me like their little baby girl (being the 'youngest' has its pros and cons, trust me). While I'm not going to harbor over the details reguarding said adoption (other than that I young enough not to remember my biological parents), I will say that knowing about my birth parents in the first place is...well...kind of surreal. And to better explain it: I've known about them for a good portion of my life, while being filled in on specific delails about them as you get older/mature, but I don't actually know them. Which, now that I think about it, it's surprisingly similar to knowing about a celebrity without ever meeting/getting to know one...for the HUGE exeption being that they're not famous, and that, obviously, they have a MUCH stronger connection to me...and now that I think about it again, comparing celebrities to biological parents is a really bad analogy, but I'm not sure how else I could explain it.

Or to put it in short, I actually do want to meet them in the future at some point, but I'm also afraid to because it's out of my comfort zone/like jumping into unknown territory/insert-other-reasons-to-ramble-about. I have the feeling that I'll be fine once it happens, but even thinking about it is enough to make nervous at this point...

  11. It was mid afternoon, but the snow storm made the sky look gray and gloomy, even more so than normal during the winter season. The sign in front of the door of Joy's Toy Shop read OPEN, but most sane ponies wouldn't bother to travel through thick snow in an open field just to buy a toy for their little ones, especially in this kind of weather.

But the few employees there were still working, and there were still things to do before anypony - or anyone, as Patches was a dragon - would even bother to flip the store's sign. The Pegasus Swift Kite, along with Patches, who helped with sculpting the parts, had recently finished making and painting a wooden toy dragon with jointed legs and wings. It was modeled after that of an adult, and its 'scales' were a bright red that was lighter than Kite's pelt. It was placed on a nearby shelf where it could be left to dry.

There was something strange about this toy, however, something that neither of them had picked up on, but they may, sooner than later, discover just why...

"You know, thank's for helping me out with that!" Swift Kite said gratefully to Patches as she opened up a sack filled with toys. It was around this time of year where some of the toys from the shop would be gathered and then donated to foals in need. But considering the storm, this would have to wait, and a good way to pass the time was to make a few more until it passed, even if they had to wait until tomorrow.

"Y-you needn't mention it..." The orange and blue dragon replied timidly, giving a warm yet toothy smile at her. "I-it was nothing really, they were just a few pieces for assemblage, is all." Patches then looked down a shelf and arranged a few stuffed animals, knowing that his friend would comment on his modesty.

But before the young mare could open her mouth, a black Pegasus suddenly opened and staggered through the doorway of the shop, appearing cold and exhausted from the storm brewing outside. Patches winced, practically startled by weary stranger's sudden intrusion, and Swift Kite's eyes widened, showing that she was startled too. With a quick exchange of glances, Swift Kite spoke up.

"Patches, y'think you can check to see if the fire's still running? And maybe get some blankets, or, or..." She tried to think of other thinks she could get for the tired stallion, but Patches lifted up a claw-like index finger and nodded slowly. While nervous about leaving Swift Kite alone with the newcomer (as they barely even knew him, after all), he glanced back at the two Pegasi before heading through the back door. But as he did, he almost swore that a certain toy was moving slightly, but quickly dismissed it from his mind.

Cantering towards the stallion, Swift Kite put a hoof on his snowflake-covered back to help his balance, unsure if he had the strength to walk any longer. "Hey, you okay there?" She queried softly with concern. Considering his tired demeanor, is was obvious that 'okay' was an overstatement on behalf of his condition.

  12. No application needs to be long, so the fact this is "your shortest yet" doesn't count against you in the slightest; you have already gone well above and beyond what we would expect in an app anyway. :)

    For Great Justice! :D

Yes, I know that x] I was just pointing out that, well, I tend to make long apps anyway even if they're not expected of me. It's a habit I guess, on this site and others in the past.

But on a different note, you SO much Brian! :D

  13. Patches felt a little better as the unicorn began to muster an apology, but he couldn't help but look a little nervous himself. It had been some time since he had gone out-and-about after his last growth-spurt and, while the white pony seemed less inclined to run away than he thought she would, her uneasiness was still very much apparent. Her mentioning that he didn't have to stay outside, however, gave him even more reassurance, and the dragon nodded gently at her words.

"Th-thank you for your understanding, M-Moondrop..." He managed to mumble as he lightly bowed his head in a humble manner. Admittedly, he wasn't even sure if that was the mare's name, as word-of-mouth had actually brought up a number of them by the time Joy had heard of her. Still, out of all the ones that showed up, 'Moondrop' seemed the most fitting to her striking pale coat and mane. His ears perked back to normal, but he kept his wings folded all the same. He still wanted to leave a good impression in front of the toymaker, after all.

And as for Swift Kite, she was just relieved about not having to be in the middle of a balancing act anymore. That is, one between calming down a frightened mare and consoling a friend of his many insecurities. With that matter resolved, Moondrop offered them - and uneasily too - if the two would join her in her living room to discuss business arrangements (with a spot of tea, of course).

"Sure thing!" Kite answered with a grin, practically oblivious of the unicorn's hesitancy. While unsure of just how nervous she was, the scaly creature next to the young, red and blue mare seemed to pick up on it, if only slightly. Trying to hide this, he smiled and nodded again before the white pony led the two inside her house, all while Patches trailed behind both of them after miraculously fitting through the doorway. The trip from there to the living room was rather...interesting, to say the least. Swift Kite almost swore she heard the sound of closing of doors and moving silverware, but only thought Moondrop was using her magic to levitate some stray objects out of the way.

"Maybe there's other ponies in the house...?" She mused quietly but out loud, more to herself than at her friend and co-worker from behind. If the duo wasn't about to discuss business with the mare in front of them, and if Patches hadn't known any better, then he might have facepawed at the comment. Maybe he was being a little too attentive, or it was merely his senses picking up on his surroundings, but it seemed pretty obvious: Moondrop was far from prepared for the meeting. It wasn't his first time seeing somepony using unicorn magic, and seeing how much her horn was glowing, he could tell she wasn't just using it to move books from their path.

'Note to self: Remind Kite to contact them back before planning another trip,' Patches was thinking, feeling a pang of empathy towards the white unicorn. It was the first business meeting that either mare would have, or at least for Swift Kite, the first one held inside somepony's house, so he couldn't blame them of them for the situation at hoof. But even then, while the dragon cared for Swift Kite like one of the sisters he never had, he sometimes wished that she could be a little more - or a lot more - attentive when came situations such as this. As they continued on, the dragon cringed at the sound of clattering silverware, almost halting and digging his claws into the floor as he did, but kept most of his composture and followed the others into the living room.

Moondrop gestured at the them to sit. Not wanting to leave a giant sag in the sofa, or let alone break it, Patches sat next to it on his hind legs, almost like dog would as his tail curled to his side. Swift Kite sat onto the sofa next to the larger creature and beamed happily as she accepted the unicorn's offer for tea. Her dragon friend nodded politely and took a cup a well.

"Y-yes please, and again, th-thank you." He replied shyly to the white mare, examining the tea cup as though figuring out how to drink from it. It seemed so, well, small in the dragon's forepaw. His instincts kept telling him to plop the porcelain cup his mouth and scarf it down along with his drink, and ask for a second cup with more tea, maybe even a third one and- 'No! NononoNO! Don't even THINK about it!" He scolded himself mentally. He lifted up the cup with his right paw, trying not to scratch it with his claws, and poured the steaming liquid in his mouth, not one drop being spilt onto the living room floor. He didn't at all mind the tea's taste, and in fact, he actually kind of liked it. Plus, with being a dragon and all, he didn't need to wait for it to cool off either. At least it temporarily took his mind off of eating her ceramics, but he now felt hungry. There was a stash of gems inside of his messenger bag, but he thought that eating them now wouldn't be the polite thing to do in front of an already nervous hostess.

  14. Admittingly I was unsure about it, but it just might work. I've had this character in mind for a while, and to say the least, she certainly gets herself into a bit of piracy. I think she'll suit the GoLucky family quite well, even if her special talent isn't quite related to gambling.

And her name? Gear Savvy! But for the sake of the GoLucky family name, "Gear Savvy" is actually something that she pinned for herself, while her real name is Savoir GoLucky. :D

Yes, I've decided to have ol' Savvy to be part of the GoLucky family along with having her part of the Freedomwings crew (if you don't mind). She does originate from Trottingham after all. I also had in mind that she would have blonde hair even before considering this. Maybe she could be Clover's cousin? If that's alright, I mean.

  15. It wasn't the first time Patches had been to Canterlot - and in fact, he used to live inside one of its so-called 'esteemed' magic schools - but anypony could tell that the young mare flying excitedly around him was a newcomer. The moment they entered through the gates that afternoon, Swift Kite had basically been wide-eyed and awed - if not a little intimidated - by just about everything the city had to offer: The tall and gleaming towers, its spiraling, winding streets, she never thought she would one day visit what was practically Equestria's capital!

But even the red and blue Pegasus was aware of it: They were here for their occupational sake, not just to fool around. While the aesthetically appealing architecture was hard ignore, Swift Kite did her best not to get sidetracked...or that is, whenever she wasn't fluttering back and forth between eying the city's towering structures and zooming back towards her much larger friend. Patches knew the way after all, or at least knew the streets well enough without having to look at a map every few seconds. Still though, the dragon couldn't help but feel a little, well, uneasy, to say the least. Maybe it was Swift Kite's (quite literal) flighty behavior, a trait that could make her the target of more unsavory beings may feel inclined to use that for their selfish, harmful advantages. Or maybe it was the passer-byers that kept giving the unlikely duo odd and questioning glances. Or maybe it was how the Pegasus seemed completely oblivious of either possibility...

...Or maybe he was concerned. Too concerned even. But honestly, he couldn't help it. A small sigh escaped his scaly muzzle as he continued walking on his fours, hoping that any ounce of worry would drain out of his body from one single beath...nope, he still felt the same, but at least he didn't exhale a fume of smoke and flames, something that would surely raise suspicions amongst the surrounding populace. Upon realizing they were heading towards another street, the orange, blue and purple-scaled creature came to a halt.

"H-Hey Kite...?" The dragon called towards his airborne friend, his voice surprisingly soft for someone his size. "I-I believe we are almost there, b-but I need to make sure. Y-You still have the map, correct?" He sat on his hind legs and curled his tail to his side, a front paw clutching the strap of the sizable dark blue messenger bag he had on. Swift Kite beamed a cheerful grin, landing by his side with a small 'thump' from hitting her hooves on the paved cobblestone. A twitch of his ear was the only sign of Patches being startled by the sound.

"Yep! Should be in this one somewhere..." Swift Kite chimed, unaware of any nervousness he may have had.

She stretched her right wing upward while the left one retracted, revealing one side of a mostly empty saddlebag. The large creature opened it - careful not to tug too hard, the last thing he wanted to do was to break it - and gently pulled out a map of the city, which was given to her in case she wound up separated from him. But what was especially important was the marked path on it that lead to a specific street, with a particular address written neatly above it. He unfolded and showed it to the young mare before taking a peak at a nearby street sign. Patches was correct, to his relief, and all they needed to do was take a right and find the second house on the left.

They continued on their way as normal, though the newer street was a little quieter than the last one. The Pegasus didn't stray as much now that they were nearing their destination, for the most part keeping her hoofs on the ground. Patches became a little more relaxed as the two tread on and, before they knew it, they were right in front of her house! That is, the one of a mare who apparently made or could be commissioned to make quality unicorn-crafted toys. They heard about her through their mentor Joy Spinner, who found out about the mare through connections with a local toys store in Canterlot, one that Joy's late father Jigsaw once owned.

The house was small, but it was a nice one either way. Swift Kite especially was eager to greet the fellow toymaker - and heck, she might even let the two bring some of her creations back to the shop, once they settle on a price! Both dragon and Pegasus reach towards the steps of the house, and the young mare pressed the doorbell with a hoof, smiling brightly at the prospect of meeting her for the first time. But what was her name? Was it supposed to be 'Moon' something, or did it start with a 'D'? Ah well! They would meet her anyhow. While his friend waited happily for the pony to peak out of her home, Patches started to sport a weaker, unsure smile. An ounce of worry started creeping over him again; What if Joy had misheard the name of the address, or What if they weren't expected to arrive? What if she was afraid of-

The door opened to reveal a small, pure white unicorn, one who seemed faintly curious at first, but with one frightened glance at Patches she suddenly shook in fear. Swift Kite, who was used the dragon's presence, had a look of confusion on her face. But Patches - for obvious reasons - was already dreading what was the mare might have been thinking. Before either of them could say something however, the little pony finally spoke up.

    "H-hello...P-please don't eat me !"

The dragon mentally cringed at her words. Not out of feeling insulted, but at the very fact that the small unicorn feared him in the first place. Okay, so maybe he would be frightened too in a similar position, likely even more so to be honest, but that was beside the point. He dejectedly lowered his ears while his wings retracted to his sides, or at least as much as they could.

"I-I-I'm sorry Miss, m-maybe I should w-wait away from the house...?" The dragon stuttered with a timid, almost quiet voice. Countless memories of staying behind shelves in fear of scaring off customers played in his mind, as he started slowly backing away from the mare’s doorstep. Swift Kite glanced at Patches, then back at the white unicorn.

"Um, uh..." She fumbled on her words. Maybe it was poor judgment, but she hadn't quite expected the mare's frightened reaction. Or maybe Swift Kite forgot that most ponies wouldn't consider having a huge dragon near their house to be a normal Equestrian happening. At first she thought about saying something to Patches so he wouldn’t try to leave, but considering that the small unicorn was afraid of becoming his meal - and it didn't at all look like she'd expected the two to show up in the first place, well...

"D-Don't worry, Patches wouldn't hurt anypony if he tried! Or eat anyone, I think. He's one the nicest dragons I've ever met.” She attempted to reassure the white unicorn, though felt a little unsure if it was actually working. ”W-Well, actually, he's the only dragon I've met, but that's beside the point." A small chuckle slipped Swift Kite's muzzle at the statement, but it was more out of nervousness at whether the white unicorn would believe her or not. Then, momentarily turning her attention to the dragon, she quickly flew towards him and nudged his side with her wing - urging him come back near the steps - before gliding back to her original spot. Patches stopped reluctantly in his tracks, but didn’t dare step forward. His head craned lower as though he were ashamed of himself; He didn’t want to scare the little mare any more than he already had.

“We heard about you through my mentor back at a toy shop we work for.” Swift Kite continued. "She has connections to another store around here and I thought maybe we could, say, buy off some your toys in bulk? To supply the shop that is.” She dragged a hind hoof back and forth, before realizing that she hadn’t introduced herself. “Oh! And I’m Swift Kite! Sorry ‘bout that. And like I said, well, over there’s Patches. He’s really friendly, honest.” She said with a genuine, soft smile. She took another glance at the large creature with a tinge of concern.

  16. Swift Kite blinked in surprise at Whirlwind's interest in the store. Maybe the red and blue Pegasus had jumped to conclusions, thinking the filly might judge the establishment due to its modest employee count, but she was relived that this wasn't the case. While Mojo's business ran smoothly around them, Her confidence slowly started to return as she answered the light pink pony.

"Yep!" Her mane flickered lightly up and down as she nodded. "I guess you could say It's my Special Talent - kite making that is, hence the namesake - but I've been learning the ropes when come to other toys too." A grin peaked on the side of Kite's muzzle. Using her left wing she temporarily shifted one of her saddlebags, revealing a simple, red and green toy kite for a Cutie Mark before the bag slid back into place.

"Yeah, it's a really a really neat place!" Swift Kite continued, "And as for the others, well, there's Joy Spinner - the unicorn mare who owns it - but I'm pretty sure I brought her up already." She made another genuine smile before naming the second employee. "And there's Patches. He's a dragon taken in by Joy's family from way-back-when, I think. He's definitely not a baby now, but he's still gotta ways t'go before adulthood." While unsure sure what Whirlwind would think of a dragon working at a toy shop, Swift Kite had an inkling the fast-flying filly would find it rather interesting, to say the least.
