  1. Once LoC is done, I'm probably going to just hand in my brony card. The fandom just doesn't seem as good as before and I quit watching MLP:FiM after the episode with Derpy speaking. The quality of the show plummeted imo, and I have other things to do than watch ponies. Along with leaving the fandom, I'm also going to be leaving this site, for obvious reasons.

The ride was fun while it lasted. Thank you all for bringing me along, but now I must hop off.

  2. Furry -- at least to me -- is a fandom that celebrates anthropomorphic animals (or animals that share human characteristics or traits) in culture and art.

Do you need to label yourself under one fandom or another? Wave your banner wherever you like, in both, or not at all. We have members on this forum that enjoy Pony but do not consider themselves Bronies, and that's just fine! The same could be said of people that might like watching movies with talking cartoon animals, and that doesn't necessarily make them furry, either.

Do what you like, and do as you please! Remember if it's not fun, interesting, or entertaining to you, maybe it's better to look toward other interests.

That answers a bit, I guess. So Furries enjoy humanized animals? Is it allowed to be up to a certain point, but no more? Some art styles and points of humanization stop being cute and fun, and get to the creepy and ugly side. And what about all the rest of those questions?
  3. What makes a furry?

Are all furries real animals or creatures from ancient mythology?

Do they ever come up'with their own species?

What's so special about their fursona?

I'm sorry, I would just like some clearing up on this. I chose to just try being tolerant, and finding a group I feel I belong with. I admit, I almost no longer feel like a brony, and am afraid to watch the latter part of season two - I lost hope at the episode where AJ refused to return home because she lost a competition.

    So... yeah.

  4. I can almost picture Artax sitting in a dark room, watching his computer screen as it cast an evilish glow across his features, smiling to himself as he pet his required villain cat and spoke... "Yes... This will do nicely. Bwahahaha! *thunder*"

LOL, villian cat! 007 refference, Blofeld had a Persian cat. That's what started the villian cat thing! Thank you, Ian Fleming!

Also, this one is TOUGH! However, I think I know the answer. I've never seen that or the background it's on before, so it must be the one episode of those 4 that I have not seen yet. Yay, logic!

  5. Severe pyrophobia (Light a match, throw it into the kitchen sink while screaing so loud the people 2 doors down can hear it, not exaggerating - actually happened before. Got a strange look from my mother... ^_^; )

Magistophobio (Cell phone taken in class, I have a total meltdown and get forced to see the school counselor. Actually happened before)

All of my phobias. Not many, but enough to mess with me.

  6. Lucan was the name of my first RP character - no, he wasn't pony related.

Usually I use the username 00lucan00 due to habit, but I rarely go through with the name Lucan. The zeros represent nothingness, spaces. 00Lucan00 is basically the same as Lucan and can be read either way (I encourage reading it as "Lucan," but I usually say "Zero-Zero Lucan Zero-Zero," since I normally say the username when telling people irl to add me to their friend's list).

I thought about making a Griffon named Lucan on these boards, but I'm unsure. If I make a Lucan character, it won't be for crossover - I am not making any characters for that! Or RPing in any of those RPs, either.

  7. Hello all, I'm Lucan - Writer and Founder of the Legend of Celestia fangame project! I've got news for you all.

I know this site has good artists on it - I come here once almost every hour. Every. Single. Day. I always see that the Gallery has amazing things posted on it, so for those of you who post there, I've got some cool news for you!

The Legend of Celestia Dev Team is seeking a new spriter! Our old spriter, Soak, was recently hired, so he doesn't have the time to do this. What we're expecting -

    > Maturity - Soak was mature, and mature people are good. We don't want anybody acting like 6 year olds!

    > Skill - We hand pick our members (no rly?), and skill beats all. As Artax said - saying you did something is different than showing you did something (those might not be his/her exact words). I'm a HUGE supporter of this idea - so I will also need a work sample.

    > Be Open - Our game's storyline is wierd (Unsure about the rest of the cutscenes, but some of our members even thought that the Intro cutscene was creepy), and some people just don't like the wierdness. You have to be willing to say "Alright, this is crazy, but so what? It's different, and that's good!" Our team does have expectations and rules, of course.

    > Politeness - We don't like being offended. Don't insult us. It is guarranteed to backfire on you.

    > Speed - Looking for a fast team? Look here! Our team is almost always *very* fast - we're only slow when something is dragging us down. We are the guys who had the engine up and a functional Bit (money) system in the game two weeks after the project was announced PLUS music, SFX, and plenty of tiles and sprites. We're quite serious (most of the time), and we get things done (all the time)

    > Accessable - I need a way to contact you. If I accept you, you should have an AIM screenname of Steam username for me to add you. Steam is preffered, since most of our team uses it.

    > Often Online - We need to be able to contact you!

    > Able to turn things in on time - Tardiness *really* gets on our nerves. After so much time after the due date (not too long, but not too short, usually 3 or 4 days UNEXCUSED), we will try to replace you - we don't want any anchors on this ship!

Think you have what it takes?

    Post applications in THIS FORMAT.

    > What you want us to call you

    > Experience (Have you worked on other projects? Are you in an art class? Anything you are well-known for? Is this a hobby of yours? If it's a hobby, how often you do it?)

    > Work examples

All of those fields are required!

    Thank you! ~ Lucan

  8. she is the king of partying and randomly makes up songs.

SHE is the KING? You're implying that she's a male...

... Nightmare Moon for the win. Eternal night? I'm okay with that. I am in love with the moon IRL (I actually called it Luna before I ever heard of FiM). Also - awesome eyes. Enough said.

  9. FIM will never die, it lives on in the hearts of those who's lives it has touched, the people who before were sad and depressed but now have the happiness of ponies to make their day, the people who had a little Rainbow Dash in their pockets that made them deal with abusive parents.

For as long as you keep them in memory the fandom will never truly die.

Thank you. That's part of what I was saying, but I honestly don't think I said it right.

    You did.

    Sir/M'am, I salute you.

  10. And it really is a shame, Queen is one of the best bands ever. What would Freddie Mercury think about his work being compared to My Little Pony?

I'm not sure, what would he think?

Plus, what would his view be on MLP:FiM?

But I'm not comparing his work to the show, I'm using his fans - the queen fandom, really, as an example.

And, yes, while MLP:FiM will probably never reach the popularity Queen ever had (curse you, prejudice against ponies!), Queen's fandom can still be used as an example of how a bunch of fans can last a long time, if not forever, with something wonderful yet discontinued.

  11. Indeed we do, If the clowns happy. Everypony is happy!

    Unless you're afraid of clowns...

... Also, I believe that this fandom can survive off of Fanon. If a piece of Fanon becomes popular enough, it can be globally accepted as fanon-canon (or near-canon) (See: Lyra), or even reach a point of true canon (See: Derpy Hooves). Of course, if we take out the creation of true canon, something very interesting can occur. Assuming that there's a constant stream of fanon (which I believe there is), and still fans willing to accept it (Hey, there are still Goldeneye players after 14, soon to be 15 years, why wouldn't there still be Bronies?), this fandom can easily become... everlasting, I guess you could say. There are still large groups of fans for things no longer updated, so you can say these are immortal fandoms. Unless we all begin to hate all things pony, including our fanon, because of low quality canon being released, Bronies will last forever.

Really, look at my example - Goldeneye. It still has it's following fandom. Don't believe me? Go on YouTube, you'll still find good ol' machinimas, soundtrack uploads, walkthroughs, lets plays, parodies, and videos made with friends. If it is truely loved, it's followers will make it last forever.

Also: Queen. There are still TONS of fans. People still listen and love their music. Queen's been gone for a long time, but it still has it's fandom!

So, if Queen and Goldeneye can have immortal fandoms, why not Ponies?

TLDR: Nightmare Moon: THE BRONIES. WILL LAST. FOREVER!!!

  12. Mine weren't discorded. Mine were actually Poison Joke! :D

    Now, when Discorded...

... Dice Focus suddenly does something nice to a stranger, and treats his little-if-even-existant friends like he normally would strangers. Somebody, grab Discord!

... Azure would become intolerant. Bigtime.

... And I would become a total contradiction. Very violent, and a bit on the nice side.

  13. Dice Focus is the easiest of my characters to make a Poison Joke effect for. He'd become clumsy, and unable to do anything in anything near a straight line.

Azure Tune is a bit trickier. He'd probably end up doing everything a bit too strong. Breathing strong, nothing but shouting at the top of his lungs, and playing his flute WAAY too loud (RIP eardrums?)

And for me? That's tricky - I don't have many talents. However, I'd probably do everything too soft/weak. Write soft (I can't stand it when my writing is pale and not bold, so I'd flip out), speak soft (flipouts caused by constant need for repitition), and not be able to do much of what I normally do (I can carry heavy things.... I'd die in school if I wasn't as strong as I am. I hate going to my locker, so not being able to constantly carry 22 pounds would DESTROY me)... hey, it'd be funny to my classmates. Pretty much everything is.
