  1. Milky mustered the stallion with one eye. She wasn't exactly here to make friends, but there was no need to be rude. She could use something to drink.

"Thank you." she says calmly, vaguely turning her head in his direction. "I don't know you, I think." She attempted a smile, which wasn't very convincing. She hadn't had much practice. "My name is Milky. And you are..?"

'This doesn't seem like a dangerous situation, but I mustn't let my guard down', she thinks.

  2. it had been a good day today. Milky had found out that the ponies in these parts weren't really prepared for aerial attacks. It had been quite a big pony, too, standing around all alone a bit outside the settlement. But if you put all your weight into it, and hit somepony by surprise, it didn't matter much. At first she had been pretty disappointed, since there was no food to be found on here victim, but then she noticed a little bag, tugged between the stallion's saddle bag and his body. It was filled with those round, shiny things she had seen changing hoofs all around this place. She wasn't quite sure on the concept, but she was pretty sure that she could exchange those for food somewhere.

She didn't want to go into the settlement with her loot, since that weird pony with the shiny star and the piercing eyes had watched her all the time last time she'd set hoof in there. But there was place a bit outside, in she vaguely remembered the smell of food coming from that direction.

She entered the building, holding the bag with her teeth, still wearing her flying goggles. She had never been in here before. Many eyes flashed in here direction, and away again, as if she wasn't who they were looking for. It was all the same to her.

Milky walked up to the counter. As she cleared her throat, the owner looked up from the glass he had been cleaning. Since she was no fool, Milky produced three of the round, shiny things from the bag and put them on the counter, and the bag aside it. "I want something to eat", she said while narrowing her eyes (which was all the same, since nopony could see them). The bartender raised a brow. "No can do, miss." he said. "you would need need at least..", and he thought about that for a split second, "..double of that."

That sounded wrong to Milky, but on the other hoof she hadn't eaten today, so she didn't argue. She fiddled around with the bag, metal tingling, and produced three more. "Something without apples." She said, calmly. "Comin' right up, miss."

She sat down at the counter, waiting for her food.

  3. K, so I did some research, and appearently there are hippogryphs with horse heads, but they look a lot more like pegasi, rather then griffons.

And just as some food for thought, griffons and hippogryphs come as a combination of lots of different birds of prey, not just eagles, and though the beaks don't change much in form, they do vary in size. Maybe that's something you can work with.

  4. Both griffons and hippogryphs usually have beaks. They don't look all that different. The difference is that a a griffon is part lion/part bird of prey while a hippogryph is part lion/part bird of prey/part horse.

Interestingly, if you were a hippogryph, your mother would most likely be a pony, at least following classic mythology.

Either way, good luck with your application. :)

  5. Although, if they did, I imagine it would be more of a hidden message like how the Dragonshy Dragon's smoke was a sort of subtle message about smoking around children.

I took that as a pollution metaphor.

    @ Topic

When we consider the age group the show targets, I do think they already took it as far as they will ever do, with rarity's "date" at the gala. Romantic relationships really are of little concern to children that age, except in that specific romantic believe in the "knight in the shining armour"-kind of romance, which the show debunked, within it's restrains.

  6. As Seeker crossed the finish line, all the exhaustion of the race fell back on him. He didn't even cared how he placed, but did notice with some satisfaction that there were still Ponies finishing for a while after him. Looking for a shady place, Seeker lay down in the shadow of the nearest house. Taking of his goggles, he noticed that he had lost his number. Oh well, it didn't matter. He wasn't even sure what they were used for.

Checking trough the things in his bags, Seeker had the distinct feeling something was missing, but he couldn't put his hoof on it..

Blacky was at the mountain pass they entered earlier, but the smell of tree sap was still overwhelming. He remembered hearing water nearby, and it had been quite a while since he last drank. Sniffing around, the dog made his way up the path, following the fade sound of flowing water.

    "Blacky!!" Seeker suddenly proclaimed.

He jumped up, looking about. There was no sign of him, but several of the ponies around gave him surprised looks. He whistled. No answer. Still frantic, Seeker ran up to the nearest group of ponies.

"Have you seen my dog? He followed me during the race. Short, black hair. My Blacky."

If his mind hadn't been so preoccupied at the moment, Seeker had probably noticed that he was still covered in several layers of mud, tree sap and leaves.

  7. I don't really like Steven Moffats run on Doctor Who, mainly because for me, Amy is a textbook example for a Mary Sue, and I can't stand her. Which is a shame because I do like 11th Doctor, and Rory, a lot. I'm ok with how he wrapped up River Song's backstory, but judging from the end of the God Complex

it doesnt look like we will get a good explanation why Amy is able to wish the universe back into existence.

Then again, I swallowed quite a lot of dumb plot points in RTD's run of Doctor Who, so I guess I shouldn't be overly critical about this now. I most likely feel different about it because the tenth Doctor was my first exposure to Doctor Who.

Or because David Tennant is just so dreamy.

  8. Blacky was not happy at all. He had lost his master. The dog sniffed around, but the smell of tree sap numbed his sense of smell significantly. Stalking around in the brushwood, he looked for a way out of the woods.

Seeker pushed himself further down the track. This was getting harder by the second, but he got too far to just give up. Even here, there were still leaves whirling from the trees around. He could see the end now.
