I would suggest maybe expanding on her time in magic kindergarden (she seemed traumatised from her time there, maybe come up with the why?) and adding a paragraph or 2 bridging the current end of your story with her 1st appearance as a filly in her cutie mark story (getting the audition letter for Celestia's school)

You guys might be living in a haze of Nostalgia. I remember when Cartoon Network wasn't anything but Hanna Barbera reruns, and Space Ghost + Company running one of out two one-hour variety shows that actually showed original programming that was not originally aired elsewhere.
