  1. Because its over the internet all it'll need is a notepad and maybe an online dice roller.

Oh and in the notebook it gives you a template for your characters stats etc that you can fill in so you wont need to remember anything :D

maybe its the way its written but after the elements of harmony part, my mind started to wander

the dice roll is the least of my worries, what is really impt IMO is a GM who's got a good dungeon storyline

  2. “What manners!” Cheerilee thought as Axis scurried past her.

She turned her head and glared at Axis, who was fortunately still facing the other way, suppressing her instinctive urge to say something about his manners when she heard somepony call her name. Turning around she noticed Spitfire and her extended hoof.

“Thats me! Pleased to meet you too Miss Spitfire and your colleague too” said Cheerilee, returning Spittfire's hoof-shake and giving a nod and a smile to Soarin.

“Please, this way” Cheerilee beckoned as she turned and started down the hallway, hoping against hope that the crashes she heard earlier were just a figment of her imagination.

  3. The only thing that strikes me as a little odd is the lack of motivation. I can't see how a pony who's part of an acrobatic team would have no motivation whatsoever, but...I suppose whatever. I'd like to see something in here. But if you can come up with one, I'll let you put it in later. For now, I'll go ahead and approve this:

well if you see motivation as " the psychological feature that arouses an organism to action toward a desired goal; the reason for the action; that which gives purpose and direction to behavior" (shamelessly ripped off from somewhere). Its quite easy to see why he has none; He's not hankering after fame or fortune and has no interest in self improvement at all and has no goals in life to work towards

He sees the Sbolts as just another job and maybe you could say him wanting the Sbolts to succeed is a motivation in itself but I don't really think that counts

  4. I liked Luna Eclipsed, but I think Luna speaking in royal equestrian was...wrong.

Please correct me if i'm wrong, but there's about a year's time difference between her first appearence and Luna Eclipsed, right?

So, wouldn't someone in Canterlot have corrected her, even if she IS royalty?

Also, why was her appearance even a surprise to everypony?

She's royalty, wouldn't somepony have mentioned "Hey, Luna's gonna be in town for the celebration?" at the beginning of the episode or something?

maybe i'm over-thinking this, but her having difficulties making friends ought to have been portrayed more sensibly...and not so loud.

I actully imagined an Equestria where it was primarily an aristocracy during Celestia/Luna's joint rule for a fan fic, so just listening to the Royal Canterlot Voice made me smile

  5. Interesting character! I am curious though to hear, is there any particular reason for his anti-social and apathetic behavior? Or does he simply suffer from some sort of inherent depression that prevents him from being motivated about most of life? (either route is acceptable of course I just like to see clarification) I do like how he sees the Shadowbolts as an opportunity for find meaning before things become too difficult for him to try and that he recognizes that. (probably because I can personally emphasize with that feeling). He is a tragic character, suffering from so many flaws in his personality while being so talented.

I based him on the steotypical loner-drifter-introverted-emo character, and I also can't really think of any specific series of events to make him so grimdark (nuture) so I made him inherently anti social (nature), and because he didn't go out to experience the world, he gave up whatever little chance he had at finding something

Being forced to work in Weather Control by his parents didnt fufill him and the Wonderbolts was just another "job" in that long list.

Being in the Shadowbolts isn't much different from the Wonderbolts with regards to performance demands, but while the Wonderbolts are cheery, friendly and full of team spirit, the Shadowbolts team enviroment is grittier and much more grim, so he secretly feels more at "home" there.

He'd basically be nothing without his flying talent carrying him through life

  6. It's not a double life(Since everypony knows who she is in and out of uniform) she just happens to be a berry farmer first and a shadowbolt second. She doesn't get a kick out of being a shadowbolt it's more of her second calling, a craving for more. She has no problem about sharing her life outside of competition with the other Sbolts if asked she doesn't keep it a secret at all.

    duly noted

at least she isn't as driven and ultra competitive like the rest :P

  7. well from what I know there are 2 ways:

    Chapter One:

    Dear Diary,

It’s been a few years now since I moved from Ponyville to Manehattan. Most of my family and friends question my choice to move from quiet Ponyville to the busy life of Manehattan. The truth is that I hate the busy life. I hate the fact that when I come home my fur is matted down and black instead of a its usual brown; I hate the fact that my mane and tale look like the muddy waters in the Everfree Forest, instead of the it’s natural blue, and I’m pretty sure my horn is much more brittle than it used to be, not very appealing to other colts. Sometimes I go back to Ponyville to see what I’m missing, and of course it’s wonderful. I love the scenery, the shops, and even the Winter Wrap-Up. And then it happens, I have to see my family again. I come from a large and ancient family of unicorns who make a living by writing spell books. I’m the fifth child out of seven, with three brothers and four sisters. There an unfortunately conservative family, who feel that the ancient ways are far superior to the new, not only in magic, but in what you do. I can’t stand them. I remember the first time I brought home my first colt-friend; he ran out of the house crying after just two hours and never came back. That’s why I put up with all the rush of Manehattan, so I don’t have to be around my family. It’s not like I don’t love them, I just can’t stand being around them.

[ponyname here] [did something such as sighing and closing the diary] [rest of story]

the alternative is to break it to manageable chunks and spread them around the 1st chapters so basically you'll have a character doing random things and thinking to him/herself

  8. No what I did was that Blueberry is a fruit merchant and a shadowbolt by nature. She does both at certain times not just one during the day and one at night and it's not a secret.

I'm just trying to find out if she's a berry farmer who gets her kicks out of being a Shadowbolt or a Shadowbolt who's secret totally mundane hobby is berry farming

from your app and responses it looks like you're trying to play it down the middle, hence my comments about a double life. I'm not saying its a problem or anything I just want to know her priorities

  9. More seriously though, I think part of it might be that Rarity can relate to Dash better. They have a lot more in common personality wise. They're both very driven and focused on proving themselves

I think Phil hit the nail right on the head. They are competitive and late losing, but their areas of interest are completely different so instead of being rivals, they better suited than any other Mane6 character to truly appreciate the drive and competitive spirit they see in each other.

I see this a lot IRL and I've made friends this way :D

  10. What I would LOVE to see is an episode about LISTENING TO YOUR FRIENDS when they tell you that awesome person you're dating is a total jerk. Yeah, it's an off-kilter moral, but this show doesn't seem to shy away from those. Might be a bit too mature for the targeted demographic, though. ...though, it probably would in effect be a merge of Griffon the Brush-Off and the Prince Blueblood stuff. But it's still an important lesson.

I know! We could have a Prince Blueblood type character charm the pants off Twilight/Fluttershy the rest will be discouraging her, only to met with rebuffs

  11. I like the meeting, although I just have one small concern, Nightshade is not one to approach others, that isn't to say he isn't sociable. He wouldn't introduce himself, he would wait until LightWind showed some motive by approaching him and introducing himself and his ambitions. Not that big of a deal, but it would make more sense that way.

umm LightWind did approach Nightshade while the latter was practicing
