Creating a Successful Cast Application

The following are guidelines meant to help those who are interesting in applying for cast characters within our roleplay areas. In addition to the information provided below, we urge anyone interested in playing a cast character to look over some cast characters that have already been accepted to get an idea of what exactly our team is looking for.

Quality:

High quality applications are a very important part of the cast application process, as they allow our Roleplay Helper team see your vision of the character you want to play. As a general rule, if your application wouldn't pass critique as an OC, it will not pass as a cast character, either, so make sure you are very familiar with character applications, as well as the roleplaying rules and cast character rules. Definitely make sure you double check your grammar and spelling before submitting your application, even if this means having another person proofread it for you. However, staff will not give any feedback on cast applications beyond casting their votes once they have been collected.

Accuracy and Originality:

Make sure you are keeping your application in line with what you could expect to see from the character you are applying for in the show. This isn't the place to express your headcanon for a cast character, or to create history or connections with other characters out of thin air. You don't have to stick strictly to the events we have seen in the show, and in fact, we encourage you to make your application unique, but it should still fit in and make sense. Most importantly, anything you add yourself should be something that doesn't change who the character is, and can be easily removed. You should keep things that haven't been covered by the show as flexible as possible - you never know when an episode is going to give us new information on our beloved characters!

Roleplay Response:

As part of the application process for a cast character, all applicants will be sent a roleplay prompt, to which they must give a response that will be included with their application during voting. This is your chance to show how well you will play your character, as well as a perfect opportunity to show off your ability to add something unique to the character without breaking them. As with any roleplay post, you should make sure you are keeping our quality and etiquette guidelines in mind
