A Roaman Sunset (Chocoswirl and ThunderCrash)

Electric Vibe sighed, as she trudged through the thick Everfree Forest. The eerie night and random sounds that accompanied the already uncomfortable atmosphere poked at her nerves. She often masked her fea-"uncomfortable feelings" by growing angry. She had a very small saddlebag attached to herself, which contained a sketchbook, sharpener, eraser, and 3 pencils. Not too long ago, she met a rather interesting pony while searching the forest for inspiration for songs and art. In fact, he happened to be a pirate, which interested her even more. The new stallion and herself had almost immediately formed a connection upon meeting, and found herself going out with him to take a trip to Roam to view the sunset. The original intention was to help give her some inspiration for her art and music, but it soon turned into a date. The thought of going on a date made her rather uncomfortable, as she never expected herself to be going on dates, yet at the same time, it joyed her. It also made her quite nervous, as she didn't have any experience with dates and the like, but she hoped she would come up with something on the way.

"Darn it. This stupid overgrowth is really getting on my nerves!" Electric hissed, as her hooves ended up tangled in a rather large and flowing vine. She swept off the vines with her wings, and continued to make her way to the spot where the pirate and herself met. They had planned on meeting up at the same spot they came across each other, and Electric had to mark the area by piling leaf, by nut, by vine, by pulled grass on top of one another with the help of him. Soon, it turned into a large mass of forest-based items, and would certainly stand out, also given the fact that it was in the middle of a clearing.

Soon, the white pegasus found herself at said spot, and she looked around the area, searching for signs of the other pegasus.

Thunder Crash had never really figured he'd end up with a mare that wanted to be with him in the dating sense. Not to mention one that was gorgeous... and nice... and smart... and awesome... and - okay, simply put, she was the best that he could pretty much think of, shy of royalty, and... let's face it: royalty probably wouldn't come close to matching her. She was just so... so... her. Yes, that wasn't all that descriptive, but he was kind of tipsy on love right now. Or was he starstruck? Either way, he wasn't sure, but the entire crew had noticed. Now, he wasn't normally the type to shrug off responsibilities, but... hey, he'd already given his word to her. He wasn't going to back out now, especially when he was sure that there was a real shot at happiness here. The ship was going to be stuck regardless. Maybe this trip would be good for him - might even give inspiration for getting the ship un-stuck. Yeah... that was a valid excuse to run off with a mare while his ship was stuck, right?

...Somehow he doubted his father wouldn't see it that way... though his mother... well, she might. She was the romantic of the two adults in his life. Granted, he was an adult himself, but he often felt like a kid with how they treated him. He'd been hoping that this mission might be the one where he finally did something right and proved to his parents that he'd be able to take over once they retired. Totally not going according to plan, either. Oh well. The massive upside was that he was going to be spending time with a mare that had grabbed his interest and that he was actually hoping for a future with - assuming this date went well. Goddesses did he ever hope that it did!

Saddlebags firmly in place, he had tested his wings and the weight, decided he was set to go, and shot off into the Everfree Forest. He'd flown back to the ship from the clearing this morning, so he knew to look for the one with the pile of... well, forest stuff... in the middle. Wasn't hard to find either. He also saw Electric already standing there, and with a wicked little grin, he swooped in and landed behind her.

"BOO!"

"EEE!"

Electric let out a high-pitched squeak as she heard the sudden sound. She whirled around to come face to face with Thunder. She glared at him with ice in her eyes for a few moments, but the ice was soon melted by the warmth in her forming smile. Grinning, she began to laugh for a bit. A part of her had to try and expect this ever since she got to know him quite a bit.

"You're here!" she smiled, nuzzling him affectionately. She shuffled nervously for a moment before mentally sighing and pushing aside all thoughts of screwing up the date. "Ready to go? I can't wait to get there!" Electric spoke enthusiastically all of a sudden. Sure, she was very nervous about it, but she decided to try and bring out the more excited side of her thoughts on it. C'mon Electric! This'll work out just fine! This is a date- you should be excited! You should be stoked!

Thunder couldn't help but chuckle a bit as she span around and glared at him. When she fixed him with that icy glare, he just grinned a bit and played innocent - which was probably the most ironic thing that a pirate could pretend to be. Innocent. Right. Uh-huh. As her smile formed, so did one upon his own lips. One that was warm - and so much unlike what one might expect from a pirate.

"Of course I'm here, Electric. Why wouldn't I be?" He said softly and nuzzled her back lovingly. He noticed the shuffling, but decided not to comment on it. She was probably nervous, just like he was, but why were they? They liked one another. In his heart, he knew that was the important thing. "Yup! All packed and ready to go. Soon as we get there we better bed down for the night so we can be awake at sunrise."

With a stretch of his broad wings, he readied himself for lift-off. "So, how about we get outta this gloomy place, gorgeous?"

"Great!" Electric smiled as Thunder answered her question, nodding happily. Now, it was time to get to their destination: Roam. Electric smiled at the thought of finally getting there, but she needed to make sure they got there at all first. Of course, she couldn't get this excited just yet. Roam was a long ways to go, so they had to be safe and secure on their way towards the amazing city.

Grinning mischievously, Electric nodded, and she also readied her wings. "Yup!" In the blink of an eye, she rushed ahead of him, taking off into the air, flapping her abnormally large wings. Smiling widely, she hovered in the air just a few feet in front of the stallion. Blowing a raspberry at him and making a face, she zipped off, but making sure she didn't stray too far from him. "I'm waaaaayyy ahead of you!" Might as well have a little fun along the way! Whenever there was a chance to sneak some mischievousness into her activities, she wouldn't waste anytime getting it done. Her love for having fun knew no limits. Especially when around Thunder. "C'mon! Catch up slowpoke!" she called out as she flew off.

That mischievous grin of hers was something that he'd grown used to already. Seemed like most of them were that way, even if she didn't mean for them to be. But then, he could hardly blame her. It always seemed to mean some sort of fun was in store for them both. When she rushed ahead of him, he blinked, then smirked at the face and the raspberry she blew his way. Oh, that was the game, now was it?

As she flew off, he jumped up, snapped his wings, and shot after her quickly, falling in behind her in short order. He wasn't the fastest flier around, but he knew little tricks that could help him seem faster. It came from sailing and having to deal with the wind all the time. It always had little tells that most wouldn't notice. The air wasn't something that was fixed. It was always moving, and a slight adjustment of feathers could take advantage of those movements.

"Roam's a long way, Electric." He chuckled, "Don't wear yourself out at the get-go!" He smiled and adjusted his wings, popping up through the treetops. He had to admit, Everfree was much nicer looking from the topside.

"I-I knew that!" Electric spoke, a bit dismissively. All she wanted to do was have a little fun, but Thunder did have a point. If she wore herself out like this already, she would've been the most embarrassed mare in the world. What would he think of her if that happened? Would he laugh at her? Think of her as stupid? In fact, why was she asking herself these questions at all? Nothing could go wrong as long as she stayed herself, and had some common sense. Nodding mentally to herself, she slowed down her pace, but not by an extreme amount. Just enough to keep her moving at a steady pace.

Seeing him fly upwards, Electric followed him upwards, flapping her wings to gain more height. She hadn't flown like this in a while, since she often go on large trips requiring long periods of flight. She only hoped that her wings were up to the task. Her wings were rather large, but she didn't consider herself athletic in many ways. Sure, there were the Iron Pony competitions that she had won, but she surely would have lost to more athletic and hard-working ponies. Attempting yet again to get rid of her worries, she allowed her face to take in the welcoming breeze of the air that came her way as she flew.

The mare decided to just let herself take in her surroundings. This was what she should've been doing on this date. Spending time with Thunder and enjoying the scenery together, which was their intention. The sunset would just mark the grand finale of it all, and she knew it was going to be just perfect. Sighing contently, Electric continued to fly, but she flew much closer to Thunder, feeling much better that way, especially with the wind blowing in her mane and tail.

Thunder smiled to himself as he noticed Electric flying closer to him, and he couldn't help but do the same in return. She was a lovely mare, smart and funny too, and such a loving thing. He wondered if she realized these things about herself, or if she thought lowly of herself, as seemed to be so common among the young mares in this day and age. He certainly hoped she had her confidence. It just wouldn't do for her to think low of herself when she was such an amazing pony!

The flight was an amazing one - accompanied by a beautiful mare that he felt a great deal toward (even though they'd only known each other for a very short time) and flying over some of the most amazing scenery in all of Equestria. It was splendid - and made sure that he got to stretch his wings properly. Sailing was a grand thing, but he rarely got call to fly when his ship and crew needed tending and direction. Being that it was stuck though... well, it meant he could move without worry. It also meant his officers could handle the direction of the makeshift drydock that was being constructed around the sloop.

Hours passed as they flew, but finally, with about half an hour to spare, they reached the outer foothills of Roam. Now it was just a question of finding the highest place to watch the sunset from.

"We're here!" He called, doing a quick barrel roll and them popping up again. "Now just where to land..."
