Mane/tail colour/style: Mane and tail are a mix of gold and silver. Her mane is short and looks similar to a circular saw. Her tail is longer and groomed to spiral like a drill

Physique: Average, slightly taller than most fillies

Origin/Residence: Born/raised in a workshop on a cliff face outside of Canterlot

Occupation: Engineer/Inventor

Motivation: Wants to fly (without magic) yet has no idea where to begin. Strives to be like her father.

Flaws: Insecure about her lack of femininity. Also has a short temper in confrontation. Has a tendency to set her goals a little too high at times.

Personality: Not particularly shy, though not particularly attention seeking. She can be very outgoing, and likes to avoid conflict. Not only does she dislike yelling, she knows that she has anger issues when confronted in a malicious way. Being raised by a family of mechanics, she isn't the girliest of all fillies, and tries to force herself to be feminine. Of course that slips every now and then and her true, tomboyish nature will peak through. Whirley Gig also has a tendency to go with whatever anypony else says rather than speaking her own mind. Ergo, if somepony brings up a controversial topic, she will most likely nod in empty agreement.

History: Whirley Gig was born in the work shop of her parents on the outskirts of Canterlot. She was born into a rather well known family, as they have been contracted for high profile jobs all over Equestria. Her grandfather for instance helped in the construction of the Friendship Express. It's specualted that when she reaches Marehood, she will join her father as a traveling engineer. Her life overall hasn't been that different than any other pony, but her thirst for knowledge and research on her flying machine has driven her to wander to different towns for days at a time. She has also been known to set her goals a little too high, causing damage to property and funds of her family. This of course isn't due to a lack of ability to build, but more so on trying to achieve the impossible. The watch that she wears was made for her by her father.

Parents: Her father, Turn Crank, runs a work shop on the outskirts of the city. He sells machine parts and devices to help in every day life, as well as overseeing many projects in Canterlot. Her mother, Coil Spark, maintains the machinery and was Whirley's only female figure. Her relationship with her parents is good, and she is especially close with her father.

Cutie Mark Story:When Whirley Gig was young she had a music box that her grandfather had made for her to help her sleep. She became reliant on it to be able to get any rest, but when she reached the age to go to school, she accidentally knocked it off of her night stand. It broke upon impact with the floor and she of course began crying. Her father heard her and rushed in to see what the problem was. Rather than sugar coating it and fixing the box by himself, he decided that it would be a good time to start introducing her to the family occupation. He takes the broken box to his workshop and brings Whirley with him, overseeing her as she fixes the broken music machine herself. Once the casing was put back on, she turned the crank and it bagan making music. Her eyes filled with wonder as her prized music box came to life, elated that she had brought it back to life herself. Her mark appeared as the soft hymn of the box lulled her to sleep on the work table. Her father carried her back to her bed room and placed the music box back on the night stand. She didn't notice her cutie mark until the next morning.

About the only thing I can see that might get a red flag from the Senior RP staff is the reference to 'electronics.'

Technically, according to Lauren Faust, electricity does not exist in Equestria and all devices such as indoor lighting, kitchen appliances and so forth are powered by magic. I personally disagree, but as the creator and developer of 'My Little Pony, Friendship Is Magic'. we have to yield to Miss Faust on this one.

Other than that, I believe this app can pass muster with the Senior RP staff!

Alright, that's a pretty simple fix to be honest. Engineering is all about finding work arounds like that. I actually look forward to it

Thanks for making that change. Senior RP Helper Rosewind took a look at this app and she pointed out two things that need to be fixed. First, can't mention the father working under Celestia since the rules specify that relationships with Cast characters (like the Princess) is forbidden. Second, the desire to build mechanical wings is, in her words, "a no-go." Since this is a MLP FiM roleplay, we have to stay within the established parameters of the series.

If you can fix those things, I believe this app will pass!

I dare say you'd be correct :3 As for the flying thing, it's not a big deal. It actually works with her character to have her confused about the whole thing, seeing as she tends to over estimate her abilities and draw up plans that she can't finish.
