Horseshoes and Such [QuickLime]

When fall fell, that was when Wordplay expected to see a good amount of parties, to celebrate the changing of seasons and all that. She hadn't actually expected to be out of town for one of those parties, not until she was an actual adult mare- which wasn't that far away a day for her, anyways- but she had come out to Ponyville for a freestyle competition and she had found herself in the middle of a huge fair-like party. There were quite a few ponies around as was, all of them probably locals. It was pure coincidence that there was an outsider there, though Wordplay was sure she would probably be able to find a few more if she looked hard enough. So look she did.

Wordplay was feeling uncharacteristically quiet today, and as a result she ultimately ended up by an open box of metal horseshoes that was probably intended for younger fillies and colts to play with later on. The last time she had played with these had been when she had been only halfway through puberty, and she had still managed to nearly take off ears with a combination of her rather unladylike strength and her equally unladylike lack of hand-eye coordination. She could dance pretty well, but when it came to tasks that desired more finesse, there were things to be desired in Wordplay. But nopony knew her around here, there would be nopony to bug her about this later... a dark gray hoof poked through the box, produced a light and supple piece. The sand box had already been set out, so all she had to do was hope she didn't fling it into the crowds...

Splash!

Well, at least it hadn't been into the crowds... It had flew straight into a small lake to her hard left. How the hay had she even managed to get it to go in that direction? Rolling her eyes at herself, Wordplay wondered if anypony had seen that. There was a younger filly, probably not gone through puberty yet, lounging around by the lake.
