Residence: Lives in a home in the southeast waterfront section of Trottingham.

Occupation: Billiard player

Cutie Mark: A white billiard cue ball, with a black "eight" ball behind it.

When she reaching her fillyhood, her whole family was in a busy state; not only did her father have to work, but her mother had to take care of her younger brother at home (Carom herself being the older sister). Her parents could find little time to be with Carom due to their own issues restricting them from doing so. Because of this, Carom often visited the sports center building where her uncle worked in.

Then, one day, Carom arrived to the sixth floor the building, seeing her uncle and other ponies moving billiard tables into a large, vacant room, filling the whole once-empty room with near-aligned billiard tables, cue stick holders, scoreboards, and many other accessories. From there, she started learning the basics and rules of the game. She liked the game because it didn't require any kind of physical trait, and playing it made her feel sophisticated. Because she wasn't tall enough to reach the billiard tables, she stood on chairs or stools to play the game. Her trips to the sports center building became routine.

Carom's cutie mark appeared on her flank when she had been challenged to a game of eight-ball by another mare who had praised Carom for her skills. She had executed her play well, strategizing ahead of her opponent to prevent her from pocketing, while getting her own group of billiard balls pocketed themselves. Eventually, Carom was able to pocket all the balls in her group; however, the mare caught up to Carom and did the same. Sadly, Carom blundered and missed the eight-ball, allowing the mare to win the game by pocketing the eight-ball herself. Still, Carom had played well, and only some time after the game did she notice that she had her cutie mark.

History: Carom was born to two pegasi parents, who both came from Las Pegasus before Carom was born. She has one younger brother, who is also a pegasus, born some time before she went to grade school. Though Carom loves her younger brother, she couldn't help but notice how tiring her parents has become with an extra member in their family.

Her home issues aside, Carom always found something to do in the city. Everything excited her, from watching some of the older fillies and colts play some competitive physical sports to flying or trotting on the riverside roads. After she became interested in billiards and got her cutie mark, she regularly visited the sports center when she wasn't occupied by school work.

When she had finished off her mandatory school education, her parents decided to move back to Las Pegasus- the former city Carom's parents once lived in. Carom, a young mare during that time, chose to stay in Trottingham. Her parents allowed her to live in their Trottingham home, and, with her younger brother, moved to Las Pegasus. Carom worked in the billiard hall in the sports center; when she wasn't working, she played with other ponies.

She was discovered by billiard promoters when she entered small tournaments and won, and played exceptionally against other ponies, giving her the opportunity to compete in larger tournaments. Afterwards, Carom had gained moderate success as a billiard player. Despite her professional career, her life is still quite typical; she still frequents the sports center and a few times visit her family back in Las Pegasus.

Character Summary: Carom is a lighthearted mare, who doesn't seem to have any pressure from her work, and treating work itself as "fun". She is also pragmatic, but she tries not to allow her realism and practicality to go over her enjoyment. Carom can be fastidious and difficult to please at times, such as asking ponies to orderly place shoes and clothes at a special place. (ironically, her house is not exactly clean, as she squeezes all her items into closets or drawers) When she does something, Carom usually has high standards, and would redo things until the result satisfies her. Carom sometimes finds it hard to retain her frustration when things don't go into her favour.

Carom's main motivator is to succeed and gain fame. She is ambitious and desires to be well-known, and will try anything to make herself so. This is also why she plays billiards so often; she wants to use her talent to gain recognition.

Her attitude greatly changes into a more serious manner when competing with others. Carom usually underestimates her opponents due to her overconfident personality. In any kind of game, she is calculative, thinking ahead of her move. (Unfortunately, she isn't like that in her previous schools.)

Carom plays several different kinds of billiard sports, though she most often plays pool games. (ex: eight-ball and nine-ball) When she isn't playing any billiards, she does artistic trick shots with her cue stick and ball. She also plays table tennis and reads fictional books (Usually crime, mystery, and epistolary) for her leisure time.

Other:

  • She tends to place the 7-ball on the apex of the rack and play with a striped ball group during an eight-ball game.
  • A carom is a rebound in billiards or a type of billiard sport- carom billiards- where the game is played on a pocket-less table and wins are determined by points, which can be acquired by striking other billiard balls.
  • She almost always brings her own cue stick to play.

Howdy howdy! For the most part, this app is wonderfully written. The only thing I can think to ask is that you add a little bit more to her personality that don't relate to billiards. We helpers just want to make sure that all WoE apps show a clear sense of how a user's OCs are intended to be played. However from what I've see already, I'm sure that it'll be easy for you to include the necessary additions. :)
