A hobby store owned by a minotaur named Five-Star. He will often be seen playing strategy games with customers, while one of his assistants works behind the counter. He still works there, though, and thus he (reluctantly) has to man the cash register from time to time.

Five-Star sat behind the counter. It was 8 AM and he had no customers since he opened up at 5 for Early Bird Gaming. This was getting weird. He fiddled with his minifigs as he glanced boredly around the dimly-lit room, which barely had any walking space between the shelves. His best friend from his original club, Pewter Soldier, walked up to him.

“Hey pal, I’ve gotta run. Sorry, I promised a friend I’d check out their club. I’ll be back tomorrow!”

Five-Star merely nodded as the unicorn pony dressed in cosplay armor left the store.Five-Star was completely alone in the shop now.

 • 3 weeks later...

A grey unicorn stepped through the doors of the shop, a bit reluctant as he looked about. It wasn't a usual thing of Bohemian Blank to come to places like this, but since his recent friend had gotten him to play a short, short session of Ponies and Parasprites, he decided he'd check these 'tabletop' games out. Growing up only the nerds of the school would ever play those sorts of games, and he'd always that it was a bit weird and more than a tad confusing. But, part of growing up is realizing your mistakes, and Bo decided that labeling these sorts of games as weird was definitely one.

"Uh, hello?" he asked, not really seeing anypony yet. "Anypony here?" Bo called out for good measure. He shifted the beanie on his head to help get the ebon hair out of his eyes.

"Oh, hello!" said Five-Star, looking up. The minotaur smiled warmly and got up from his chair in a somewhat tired manner. He got out from behind the counter, walking over to the grey unicorn. "Welcome to Rush Tactics! I'm Five-Star, the owner. How can I help you?" He said happily, extending his hand in greeting. He wore his normal clothes, for he had forgotten to put on his cosplay stuff that morning. It felt kind of weird, not being dressed like some other thing. He shrugged it off and looked behind him, making sure that the entire store was perfect. As per usual, it was. Everything was organized by alphabetical order, and then sorted by colour and type.

Bo was not expecting a minotaur to greet him, and was caught off-guard by the looming (even if he looked thinner than most minotaurs) figure. "Uhh, hi." he said a bit awkwardly. There were paint flecks in his hair and on his fur and hooves, but he shook Five-Star's hand nonetheless. "Well, I'm new to the whole, uhh..." Bo told Five-Star, gesturing to the various RPGs and what-not surrounding them. "I was wondering if there's anything to explain the basics? Like, what are Dee-Twenties?" Bo ran a hoof through his hair at that.

"It's fine, no worries! A D20 is a 20 sided die. Like a D12 is a twelve-sided die, or a D6 is a 6-sided die. As for an RPG for a beginner, I would recommend the "hoof20" system. It's simple and easy to learn, and requires little to no preparation. Feel free to browse the store and read the books!" Five-Star said before he walked over to a large shelf. "Let's see here, what would you like..." He began shuffling through book after book, skimming the first chapters. Eventually, he triumphantly held up a book, which read "hoof20 Core Book" and pictured several ponies battling a large manticore. "If this is too complex, I could always suggest "Muffin Wuffin," it's the simplest book in the store, albeit difficult to read." Five-Star smiled as he talked, pacing the room and admiring the many books and minifigs.

Bo was definitely surprised that the whole dice-type-system was so easy to understand. "So, theoretically, if they made a thousand-sided-die, it would be a dee-one-thousand?" he asked, just for the sake of conversation. He followed the minotaur as they moved to a shelf with some books on it. He only briefly glanced at the titles of the books, rather choosing to pay attention to Five-Star. Upon the lifting of the hoof20 manual, he smiled. Though, when Five-Star recommended some book about muffins, Bohemian had to raise a brow. "I think I'll stick with hoof-twenty." he said, glancing at the minifigs. It was still a new experience, looking at all of this stuff, but it was a good one, too. "What else will I need?" he asked.

"Well," said Five-Star, glancing around quickly, "That would depend on the kind of setting you like! hoof20 is a modular system, fitted with countless worlds to adventure in. Would you be a space marine, fighting in the stars on giant spaceships? Or would you be the classic knight in shining armor, or maybe the ruthless assassin? Why, you could even be the CEO of a company, hoping to gain a monopoly of the market! The possibilities are endless!" He seemed a bit excited at that point, but quickly regained his sense of calm. "On the other hand, are you more of a strategic pony? I have wargames aplenty, all ready to be taken home! Oh, and we're having a sweet promotion. For every Warhoof 40k product you buy, you get a random minifig, free of charge." He smiled happily, enjoying the opportunity to spread the idea of roleplaying. He was even getting a new customer, he hoped.

Bo listened to Five-Star go on about the many possibilities of hoof20, smiling wider as the options grew. "That all sounds pretty cool." he agreed with the minotaur. "I'm kind of privy to the thought of more Renaissance themes, so I'd probably end up going with something along the lines of that..." he explained, though wasn't sure if Five-Star even really cared about what he preferred. Upon the talk of wargames, Bo wasn't really sure what to say. He was the kind of pony that would protest against war, but because this was a game, he figured it couldn't hurt to inquire about it... "What is Warhoof Fourty-Kay?"
