“well, well. There are fields anywhere out side the city walls, as well as the old narrows that were still demolished last time I was here.”

Augercorn haply bounced forward and said “great want to split up! So I advertise YOU set up?”

"Alright, il set this up. Just stay safe and meet me in the demolished narrows. If you start to get trailed come straight back us" Sky would say before looking at Sherma. "Can you lead the way?"

Sherma nodded and said “I ahh believe they are … this way”

He said leading them close to the fine shops. “it’s a couple blocks away.”

Augercorn smiled and ran into a crowded bar.

“ATTENTION EVERYONE WHO DOESN’T SUCK!!! WHO WANTS MONEY! WHO WANTS ENTERTAINMENT!” he did a back flip and slapped the poster to the wall and pointed to it “IN THE NARROWS! BE THERE OR BE @#@$”

everyone in the bar was a bit taken back by his swear and with that he ran out of the bar!

As they reached the narrows sky got straight into action. He grabbed some hey and set up archery targets. He then started to work on everything else and made a archery field they could use.

"so uhh you just want to lure her out and take the daggers back right?”

asked sherma as he set up a post

meanwhile

Augercorn was running around the streets slapping posters to everything! Walls windows peoples backs! He ran into a hookah bar and noticed everyone was smoking and just generally chilling out

He jumped up on a table and said “ATTENTION …patron! We shall be giving out free flavors in the narrows next to the amazing archery competion!”

With that most of the lounge eagerly got up and walkd out.

A female camel ran up to him and said “HEY what’s wrong with you!” Augercorn simply turned around and backhanded her knocking her out.

As Augercorn walked thru the streets yelling things like “THE GREATEST THING THAT WILL EVER HAPPEN TO YOU HAPPENING IN THE NARROWS!”

Or “free pie in the narrows” or sometimes “THE DHAKA IS COMING YOULL E SAFE IN THE NARROWS!” but then heard a call from behind him “excuses me sir”

He turned around and sure enough 2 rebels were approaching him, Augercorn gulped and realized that setting up a n archery completion while on the run …was probably not a good idea.

“we work for Captan Sefero, he is the leader of the rebels in this area … he would like to talk to you and hopefully we can deal with this peacefully.”

Augercorn looked at the two and shrugged “o.k let me get my partners. And we’ll decide weather not to do this … yeah.” The 2 rebels nodded and said “take your time if you would like to meet us here we can lead you to him.”

Augercorn felt a burning in his stomach, was this a good thing or a bad thing?

He quickly ran to Sherma and sky and said “umm guys, the rebels know we are here. and want to negotiate. ... should we go?”

"Il watch from the roof" Sky would asy as he climbed the wall and up to the roof. Out of the three he was the most wanted. If he was seen it would doom the others.

“Umm o.k they seem friendly though”

and with that Augercorn and a nervous Sherma walked back to where the rebels were waiting

sure enough the two were still there and they simply smiled and gestured to follow.

“I hope you can handle this if things go sour!” said Sherma.

They followed the rebels to the end of the city by the gate, several other rebels were there and they all stood down. As they approached the gate there stood a pony in a rather nice robe sitting at a table with 2 hawks on it and a nice box. upon seeing the 2 he stood up and in a uncommonly friendly tone said “howdy! I’m Sefero! Please, please would you like a cigar? There baahamin, quite good actually got a light smoky flavor but at the end its nice and spicy! I think you would like it!”

Sherma and Augercorn looked at each other nervously and Sherma said “thanks but I only smoker Sheesha.” Augercorn looked at the Captan curiously and said “umm smoking bad, besides one of my friend s tried to make me smoke a peace pipe with the buffalo before and they all gave up saying I was too stupid to learn to smoke.”

The captan laughed and opened a fine wooden box taking out 3 cigars “now, now there are only 2 things a stallion needs to know in this world, how to treat a lady! HAHA and how to smoke! Now here let me show you, he lit one cigar on fire and waited till it was just smoldering at the tip he said “first you properly light and handle it, then you make a seal with your lips almost like your kissing it,” he made a funny face demonstrating “then you suck in some of the smoke, taste the flavors and the aroma, then … let go!” he demonstrated and handed the lit cigar to Sherma who took a puff and released the smoke starring at he Captan, then he handed it to Augercorn who only looked at the cigar strangely and said “so … you brought us here to smoke?”

The Captan laughed, “he he, almost, come sit down” they all sat down at his table, Augercorn bit weirded out starring awkwardly att he cigar and Sherma hiding his fear and discomfort thru a sneer and iron eyes.

Once comfortable the captan continued “well heres the thing, I like you both, you escape one of the better prisons we have, make a joke out of our forces, evade us twice … I’d rather give you a job than a death warrant! Come on think about it, we need more mercs to handle things Al-fatay doesn’t want his troops working with. Come do a few jobs for me, we pay you well and you be on your way!”

Auger and Sherma looked at each other questingly

Sky had heard the whole convesation. He doubted it, though he knew he had to find somethign out. "Four conditions. One, We want to know the pay and what types of jobs, two, you have to promise that the guards will stay away from us as we work, three, once we do some work you let us go without any strings attached, four, you need to help us find something" He would call from the rooftops while staying hidden.

Sefro chuckled as he heard the echo’s of sky

“umm that’s sky, he’s silly .. but he has appoint!”

Sefro finished laughing and said took a puff of his own cigar. He released the smoke in a long stream making him look almost like a dragon. He smiled and said

“you talk of us like were some rag tag mercenary gang NO! he said loudly “we are the alliance of freedom and very soon we will run the government. What kind of government can’t trust its workers.”

He stood up and faced where he heard the echo

“why don’t you come down here with us, I guarantee your safety and I assure you it will be much easyer”

"And i guarantee you that unless you answer the terms i just said, you wont be getting any help from me" Sky would say, staying hidden. He did NOT trust these people but if they would agree he was willing to maybe sort out something.

The captain stood up from his chair and set held the cigar in his pony fingers. He yelled

“I can guarantee 3 out of 4 right now, but even that might be arranged if your more civil.”

“ONE. We will always brief you for our missions, and the pay is very good each time. TWO we don’t control this corrupt government ;we have no TRUE authority over the town guards, militia and police. But perhaps something can be arranged. THREE we have no intentions of holding you back, hey in fact let us help you! I know about you Sky imagine it you leading a group of the finest camel commando’s and mercenaries charging straight into the assassin guild headquarters! Getting them off guard and having the one’s who tormented you your whole life at your mercy! Sherma imagine all the money and power you could possibly imagine ….” He turned to Augercorn and said “I don’t think I want to know what you want … but I’m sure we can help”

Augercorn made an evil grin and the captain turned back to Sky’s echo

“and off course so long as we have a means of contacting you we will think no such thing of holding you in our facilities! So what say you Sky Zipper? 3 out of 4 ant bad! And it’s a heck of a lot better than how the empire will treat you!”

he said holding out his arms in a to his side as if holding out a hug for acceptance.

Sky would think for a moment before walking back towards the back of the roof. He took four steps before turning around and standing ready. Sky counted to three before taking four steps and jumping from the roof, landing next to the captain. As sky neared the land he flapped his wings. "Are you able to help me find someone?" He would ask. He agreed with the terms so far, though he wanted to know if they could help

“woah! that was like … awesome!” said Augercorn amazed as he gave the cigar back to Sherma

Sefro took a step back and held his up arms in a lame defense but lowered them and said

“well probably depends on who you are looking for”

"A girl was asking about who i am, a Pegasus, you able to help?"

Sefro quirked his eybrow

“mirage? Why yes if that’s who your talking about, she works for me! She is part of the order of scorpions a group who opposes the assassins guild and got the information on all of you.”

his smile quickly went sour and he said “you don’t want to hurt her do you?”

"I want to know why she was looking for me, and i want to know who she is"

Sefro smiled and behind him Augercorn mouthed

Sky and mirage sitting in a tree!

“why she was looking for you because I asked her took she works with us you see in a position not to different from your own. She is a free lance mercenary of the highest rate, like I said which is what you shall be.”

He took a puff of his cigar and Augercorn began slowly approaching the 2 hawks on the table.

“ah” he said enjoying the flavor of the smoke “well what can I say about Mirage Hunter she’s a very useful very proficient mercenary, a strong flyer for someone in the desert under the effects of the stone. She’s usually pretty distant and does not like to talk to others but she has been shown to do acts of extraordinary kindness, like last time I sent her out she had to assassinate a rouge pony general for the empire, this general took 3 kids hostage and … I don’t know what he wanted to do with them. but mirage put an arrow in his head and carried all three of the children thru the dessert by foot!. If that’s not admirable then I don’t know what is!”

he looked sly at sky and said “would you like to meet her … and a Cigar oh where are my manners!”

"I dont smoke, and i would like to meet her" Sky would say as he stood there, his quiver on his back along with his bow.

Augercorn stuck his finger out and poked the hawk, who didn’t seem to care, the bird crooked its head then went back to starring at nothing,

“o.k one moment. Um please don’t antagonize my friends” Savero said to Augercorn who then jumped back and stood straight at attention.

“I just helped them preen there feathers," he said as he lovingly let them come on his arm.

He began writing down on a small not of paper

“I’m glad you accepted, I had Letro and Duncan here ready for the worst. Let me just tell her to come here and. …” he finished writing and tied it around the first hawk’s left foot “there” he shifted his arm sending the hawk off.

“now as I said she is quite fast and will be here soon.” Said Savero as he stroked he remaining hawk on the head

“So why are you part of the rebels if you’re a pony” asked Augercorn

Savero turned around and said “simple they believe in what’s right, I don’t like the current leaders, and they can offer me a lot more.”

“If the empire is so bad how come everyone isn’t in the rebels?” asked Augercorn with a rare serious tone

“Well the empire is backed by celestia, that alone gets many people on there side, combined that with a lifetime of brainwashing and we have a very dangerous force. … Now I hope you can forgive us for our misunderstanding earlier, and that we just acted the same way you would”

"I just defended myself and my beliefs, let me know when she gets here, il be resting against that wall" sky would say as he walked towards the wall to rest while he waited.

“huh. So do you work for al-fatay?” asked Sherma

Severo shook his head in the no gesture as he feed his hawk a treat.

“I report to several other, who in turn report to the General, but I don’t work directly underneath him. … met him a few times, shook his hoof.” He let the bird jump to the table

Augercorn watched as sky went to the building he was resting against. and sighed

“so uhh, what kind of jobs do you have in mind for us?” the captan released some cigar smoke and said

“well whatever comes up really, assassination, escorts battle field reinforcement, intel. Could be a variety of things that I cant tell you exactly right now.”

Augercorn nodded and shouted

“HERE THAT SKY! INTEL”

Sky would sigh. In his time traveling with Augercorn he had seen countless conflicts, and his time here showed that these guys really did need help if they couldnt catch a wounded Pegasus. "Tell me when the missions up" He would call back

Sherma sat down and looked to the sky.

“so now were working with the rebels. Funny how things turn out”

Augercorn knelt down and picked up a hand full of sand and began playing with it

“hey Savero why don’t people build big sand castles here?”

Savero gave Augercorn a strange look then simply shrugged

Suddenly Augercorn looked up and pointed to the dark sky. and

Whoomph!

A Pegasus gracefully landed next to them in the sand. She was wearing a full body hijab, that allowed long feminine white wings to come out the back, she took a few steps towards the Captan and with each step folded up her wings concealing them In the robe.

“I am here Captan, where is he?”

Savero smiled and said “glad you could make it Mirage, sky is right there by that building.”

Mirage turned and walked straight to him. Augercorn stood up and observed her.

She was medium sized for a mare, but her wings were quite long when she had them out, she had a slim but probably well toned body underneath her robe. (he could tell by her head and neck) and she had some cyan-purple colored eyes, very pretty actually.

Also her robe was not your standard hijab, it had special openings not only for her wings but weapons, and clearly had some armor plating to it in certain spots. The way it fell against her body when she walked, she no doubt had some weapons or tools inside there.

She quickly walked to sky and starred at him a moment, then said

‘hello Sky. I am proud to finally meet you. I am Mirage hunter of the house of scorpions” her voice smooth sultry, with a bit of a saddle accent.
