Looking more closely, he could tell that the water bender was a different person. Gears began to turn, and he started to wonder if something was afoot! He's the avatar! But what was the avatar doing here? It seemed the crowd was mimicking his surprise, and if he didn't do something soon, a riot might break out. Not likely with the avatar present, but it could happen. He left his post at the front door and headed out back to the training area. If a riot did break out, the players, and the avatar, would need a secure path to the exit. Not that the benders needed it, but it would be better than them fighting off all of the civilians.
