Aylbirt
[ Pony Related Character ]Name: Aylbirt Amplehoof (Ayl)Gender: MaleAge: AdultSpecies: Earth ponyPelt Color: Deep blueMane/Tail Color & Style:Three shades of green (Light, dark, medium, in that order from top to bottom,) extremely fluffy. Almost always in his eyes, but can be blown/tossed out when he needs to see up close detailEye Color: Yellow, same as his hooves and the lining of his markCutie Mark:[*]A double eighth note above and to the left of a treble clef. Below the clef and to the left again is a single eighth note. These are brown, and outlined in the same yellow as his hooves and eyesPhysique:[*]Built somewhat like a typical male pony; thick body, thick face, thick neck. But his legs are shorter, stockier, and his chest is very deep. He looks a little off, as his legs seem too short for his body, making his head look far too large. There is a lot of muscle in his back legs, his neck, and his chest. He is rarely ever seen without his harness on, which his repair cart hooks into so he can pull it around with him wherever he goesResidence:[*]None, he wanders around Ponyville and sleeps under the stars and trees. He's hoping to purchase a house, but he's new to the town, and doesn't have one yet. Once lived in FillydelphiaOccupation: Musical instrument repair cartMotivation:[*]Watching young, and old ponies discover or rediscover the magic of music when he replaces a snapped string, unbends a dented tuba, or sells them their first tambourine. When they hear what they can make, their faces light up, and that's all the motivation he needs to keep doing what he's doing. Even though it doesn't bring in much money, it makes ponies smile, and that's all that matters. He received his mark just before leaving school; his love of music caused his mother's harp far too much playing time, and he had to re-tune it when she tried to play it. In doing so, he found his cutie mark just after finishing with the repairs, and has been in the music world sinceLikes:[*]+ The sound of wind whistling over the long grass in a field+ A young pony discovering the joys of music for the first time+ The achy, exhausted feeling after a long day's hard work+ New shipments of various musical supplies+ Letters from home+ Warm sun during a mid-day nap+ An honest race where one can stretch the legs and get the blood pumping+ Autumn, when the leaves turn all sorts of different colors, the scent of baked goods fills the air, and the weather is dry and warm, with a slight crisp in the breeze+ Cats, all manner of cats, from small and fluffy to large and raggedy, he loves cats!+ Fixing instruments. Any kind, from woodwind to brass, from string to percussion. It might take him a while, but he's loves to challenge himself+ Quite days and calm nightsDislikes:[*]+ Being told he can't do something+ Other ponies trying to force their ways of living or thinking on him+ Too much pink+ Being cold, and inadvertently, winter+ Heights, he doesn't do well with his hooves off the ground+ Bullies, no matter what age they are+ Oranges, limes, and lemons, they are too sour for him+ Loud, obnoxious places or ponies+ Speaking, though he will do some+ Not very good at aiming+ Spoiled children (and adults!) who never stick to anything 'just because'Character Summary:[*]Aylbrit is a very large, but very kind, soul that wouldn't dare hurt a hair/feather/scale on anybeast's head. He looks absolutely ridiculous with his large head and stumpy legs, mane and tail dragging through the mud; but under the odd appearance is a heart of gold that can find no wrong in the coldest of ponies. He'd fit perfectly into the gentle giant category, if it weren't for his legs that fit him into the shorter of the males of Equestria. But he wouldn't know it. In his mind he's just as tall as the other bronies, he really doesn't know that he's shorter than almost everyone else. While there's nothing physically wrong with him, Ayl chooses not to speak often, if at all. There are some phrases that require him to converse with others, such as give them the total of how much fixing their instrument will be. However, beyond business, he rarely, if ever, says a word to anyone. He relies on writing in the dust with his hooves, some paper and a pencil, or body language. It's not for any reason other than he just doesn't like to talk. He finds that listening solves more problems than talking ever does, so talking just takes up his time and he doesn't partake in it often. He's earned quite a reputation in his hometown as the 'weird silent one.' But he lives with 'silence is golden' and sticks to it. Being an Earth Pony, he does not have any magical ability of his own. So how does he repair music instruments? Using tools, limbs, and good old-fashioned hard work. A string is replaced on a violin using delicate biting of the tuning peg and twisting to just the right tension, a dropped tuba is un-dented by careful kicks and bangs of both shod and unshod hooves. Even delicate horse-hair bows are re-haired with a clamp and a strong neck. Ayl enjoys getting down and dirty in his work, putting muscle and grunt into every inch of making every musical experience the very best.
