This is my first MLP OC -EVER- so if you lovely people have suggestions or helpful hints to make her better, please share them! :3

Edit: looks like 30 people looked at the application already and noone left a comment on if something should be changed, so I'm changing this from a WIP to a Final application. If something comes up though, Application Reviewing peoples, please let me know so I can make the proper adjustments! I really wanna start role playing! :D

Edit 2: Fixing stuff, back in a flash!

Dislikes: Dry Spells, Liars, Being Grounded and Being Slowed Down

Character Summary: Born and raised on Gallopocus Island, Blue Bolt loved to play on top of storm clouds that came over her island home when her parents went to work as weather control ponies for the island. Being of the adventurous and boisterous spirit, the little filly never feared the lightning or thunder, or the gusts of wind that even the adult weather-ponies had to deal with before getting above the cloud levels. She loved it all because it meant she could play with the clouds like she’d seen her parents do a thousand times over for their jobs. Though her parents usually restricted her to one area of the cloud tops where she’d be ‘safe’ from the gales of wind that might knock her into the ocean below, or the lightning that might fry her feathers or worse.

One day, she was jumping around on the storm clouds, imagining how awesome it would be to actually be able to control the weather like her Mom and Dad. She jumped on the cloud tops, pretending to make it rain harder; she kicked at the grey fluff, pretending the result was possibly the loudest thunderclap ever in all the land, then she reared up on her hind legs, eyeing the cloud fluff in front of her between her front hooves with determination, and slammed down on the fluff with all her filly might.

Her pretend play was that she’d make a lightning bolt jump down to the dark wind-tossed waves below like her Father did, but instead of it just being pretend and harmless; she heard the puff of cloud being struck, saw the flash of light fron the cloud under her hooves, which closely followed by the electric sizzle of something about to go wrong – a second later a lightning bolt misfired near by, and split up into the air creating a brilliant sight. White-hot closest to the cloud, and fading to blue the higher it went as it crackled and split into a bright haze of sparks.

Like all other lightning, it didn’t last very long, but the other Weather-ponies of Gallopocus Island had been startled. They’d never seen lightning jump up before; cloud to cloud sure, cloud to ground almost always, but up? The shocked expressions on their faces could hardly match the fear the filly’s parents had when they saw the blue flash by their precious little girl.

The misfired lightning bolt sparked something inside her as well – inspiration. She heard the wing beats of her parents as they raced over to her to make sure she wasn’t hurt, and when she turned to look at them over her shoulder, she saw the edge of her cutie mark between the rise and fall of her wings, a little grey cloud with a bright blue bolt on it.

With such an image of electric beauty as the Blue Jet she had created burned into her mind, Blue Bolt decided she wanted to work with lightning sent out by other Weather Ponies. From the time of that first blue jet, Blue Bolt trained herself for the weather control job she wanted, flying laps around the island after school quick as she could to build up her wing muscles and speed, studying great competitive ponies like the Wonderbolts and Shadowbolts for agility and reading everything she could get her hooves on about weather controlling and how the great Masters of the field kept tiny storms from growing into huge ones, or kept the huge ones on time and task for the safety of all others once they left the weather factories.

Even if she’s grown up now, every chance she gets she still jumps around on the storm clouds, releasing some of the lightning up into the air as Blue Jets, in awe of them as much as she was the first one she’d seen as a filly. Though Gallopocus Island is her home, she tends to travel wherever the storm winds take her or wherever she’s needed to deal with out-of-control lightning, lured by the adventure of traveling to new parts of Equestria and seeing new things. When she does travel, she tends to rest on local clouds or find a nice grassy spot on the ground.

Hay there, I thought I would stop by to lend a helping hoof. You have pretty much everything down pat, although there are a few little things that you might want to take a look at. The first being that if she had been struck by lightning, even a little bit of it, she would have had a serious injury. Maybe she could have been inspired by the lightning without being struck by it? Also there isn't much in the way of her personality, I would really like to see what kind of pony she is aside from her weather-pony duties. Is she quiet and reserved, or is she outspoken and boisterous like the lightning she loves so much? Is she a very feminine Mare or is she more of a Tom-boy? Just some ideas there for you.

Also there isn't an actual cutie-mark story, you should probably work one up for Blue Bolt here. Cutie-marks are a very personal revelation for the pony. Maybe she received it when she first successfully created her lightning storm? That does not seem like an easy task, and one that might be worthy of her getting her cutie-mark! The cutie-mark story and the the personality will give Blue Bolt here more depth and make her a more playable character. Once you take a look at these, I am sure that this will be a Grade-A app!!

Hay there again. We are currently making a site wide push to use 'Title tags' instead of the 'Bracket Tags' system. If you open up your original post in the full editor you will notice up at the top you can edit the title of this thread. Please do so and remove any 'Bracket Tags' such as [Pegasus] or [Final]. There is a second field underneath the title editor in which you can put 'Title Tags'. Please fill this field out to reflect your applications current status. Thank you in advance!
