[Ponyville] A Pegasus's Day Off(Open)

Rain Leaf sat idly outside the Ponyville Veterinary Clinic with his new violet pack sitting in the snow beside him. He had just finished dropping his cat, Yarrow, off for an emergency appointment. The foolish feline managed to swallow something that he shouldn’t have while Rain Leaf was out on an errand. The grey pegasus wasn’t too worried as it seemed to happen on a regular basis but he just wanted to be sure. The veterinarian told him that it might be a while before the cat was ready to go home.

Rain Leaf wasn’t sure what to do. It was the first time in a while that he didn’t have anything to do. He hadn’t gotten any requests from anypony. Aside from his lost field guide his research was up to date. His garden had already been tended to. His house was clean. There wasn’t a thing to do. He looked up and down the streets, unsure of what to do next. ‘I could try my luck at the bowling alley…’ he looked up at the cloudy sky ‘….or maybe I can fly up to Cloudsdale for the day!’ He spread his wings as he prepared to take off. A dull pain shot down his left wing. One of the muscles was still sore from his latest venture. He knew that it probably wouldn’t be wise to do any extensive flying for a few more days. He let out a soft sigh as he tucked his wings in. ‘I guess that rules that out.’ Without much further thought he tossed his new violet pack over his neck and started to make his way down the street.

It wasn’t very often that Rain Leaf decided to hang around Ponyville and when he did he would usually just fly to and from each shop. The walk was a nice change of pace. The fresh winter snow covered the ground and most of the wildlife was still in hibernation. Winter Wrap Up was still several weeks away. He smiled as he thought about the upcoming event. It will be the first time that he will help out in the process.

He paused to look at a unicorn that walked by drinking from a milkshake that she was levitating in front of her. The fact that she was drinking a milkshake in his weather seemed absurd to Rain Leaf. He did think about it a bit and he was rather thirsty. A milkshake might be the perfect way to start off his day.

Rain Leaf exited Sugercube corner carefully balancing his chocolate shake on a tray. He looked around for a place to sit nearby. Many of the tables outside the bakery were still covered with the snow fall from the previous night. One of the tables not far from him was partially uncovered. He trotted over to the table and set the tray down. The tray clattered a bit once he set down causing a little bit of the whipped cream to slid down the side of the cold blue glass. Rain Leaf cringed as he plopped down into the snow. He had momentarily forgotten about the the snow that was on the ground. He couldn't help but chuckle at his own silliness.

Rain Leaf watched some of the ponies that were going about their morning business as he took a drink. He had managed to burn about thirty minutes so far. What was there to do now? He too another drink and then looked up and down the street once again. "Hmm. What to do?"
