Origin/Residence: Originally from Trottingham though is currently traveling through Equestria.

Occupation: Illusionist / Traveling Performer (and Trickster)

Motivation: Adventure and Entertainment first and fore-most, though this adventuring tends to lead to the discovery of new tricks and new ideas for the brother's traveling act and provides plenty of amusement and entertainment for Hocus.

Character Summary: Hocus and his twin brother were born to a unicorn and earth pony couple in Trottingham; while their father had once been a great and talented performer he had settled down and decided to start a family. There was some hint of disappointment when his children turned out to be earth ponies as he had hoped to have them carry on where he'd left his career behind as a show-pony.

From an early age the pair proved to be tricksters, enjoying the games they could play on their classmates by switching places and confusing even their closest friends. Over the years those that truly knew the pair would find it easy to distinguish between them like their parents could. It was during a class talent show that their father's dream was shown a glimmer of hope. They immediately decided on a magic show - especially encouraged by their mother who often told them that just because they were earth ponies didn't mean they couldn't do just as much as the unicorns and pegasi.

While they did not have the magical gifts of a unicorn, they did have each other and their own cleverness and under the bright lights of a stage it was so hard to distinguish the slight differences in their eye colors. Their personalities were even perfectly masked behind the stage act that was nothing but dramatic. It took them a number of weeks to perfect their trick with it's smoke bombs and mirrors but they pulled it off and the instant their classmates cheered in appreciation for all their hard work there was the unmistakable satisfaction of not one, but two young ponies earning their cutie marks.

Over the years they continued their act in talent shows and even at classmate's parties before becoming of age and moving on to fulfill their father's dream of becoming performers. Their sense of adventure leading them to take their act out on the road, to learn new tricks, to perform new shows and to meet new ponies.

Hocus is the trickster of the pair, every trick they perform was originally plotted by himself. Along with coming up with the tricks he is the one most likely to chat a pony up, especially the fillies that might be drawn to the idea of such a flashy profession. He tends to be much more out-going than his brother and far more rambunctious. His sense of adventure is stronger than that of his brother's and was ultimately the reason why the twins left their home town in search of something more exciting when their home-town grew a bit tired of their old tricks. A pony is warned to be wary of Hocus when he is bored as that is the most likely time he's prone to playing tricks (sometimes ones that are not so nice and espeically upon his own brother).
