CrimsonNova
Pesto smiled at Grey, and her eyes watered a little bit. She nuzzled him. "You arranged dinner for us?"She nuzzled him, wrapping a wing around him in a gentle hug. "That's very sweet of you!"The two began to trot down to the restaurant, hoof in hoof. Pesto smiled all along the way. She was glad Grey had thought of food; Pesto sometimes forgot herself and forgot to eat. She glanced to Grey, blushing a little. She couldn't understand how she could have been so lucky.
GreyMatter
Grey nuzzled back, and holding her close, walked inside. "Matter, party of two." He said, before they were escorted back. A waiter asked what they wanted to drink. "Apple cider sound good, dear?"
CrimsonNova
Pesto nodded eagerly, smiling at the waiter, and then to Grey. "Good? Some apple cider sounds amazing right about now."She blushed and once they were escorted to their table, Pesto took a moment to whisper in Grey's ear. She wanted to say something she hadn't had the courage to say to him throughout the years. "Thank you. For everything," she murmured, and then dropped her eyes down to the table, smiling a little shyly.
GreyMatter
Grey pressed his hoof to her mouth, as if to shush her, "I don't need thanks, I just need your company." The waiter left to get the Apple cider for them, as Grey just looked at Pesto, amazed at his luck. As she had admitted to him, he continued to her, "I was starting to think I would never have a fillyfriend. I guess good things DO come to those who wait." CrimsonNova
A pink blush powdered Pesto's cheeks at his words, and she raised her head, smiling shyly still. She patted his hoof with hers and nosed his cheek, not needing words now anymore. If only there was some way to express how she felt about him; someway to repay him for everything. She stared at the wood on the table, thinking hard. She shrugged it off and just looked back up to him, smiling as the ciders were placed on the table. She took hers. "Meeting you had to be the best thing that happened that day. Forget meeting Syd," she joked lightly.
GreyMatter
Grey Matter chuckled. Syd had mostly faded from his memory of that day, obscured by the memory of everything involving Pesto. "Do you know what you want to eat, Pesto?" Whenever the two weren't actually talking, they still knew what the other thought, and knew how the other felt. Pesto knew how much Grey loved her. CrimsonNova
Pesto picked up a menu, and then realised how little she thought she could even eat. She wasn't really that hungry after all. The excitement of the day had clearly gotten to her.She looked to Grey and then put the menu down, stretching a little. "I think I'll just have a small portion of hay fries." GreyMatter
"And I will have a...hay and grass sandwich, if you would." He then gave the menus to the waiter, and just looked in Pesto's eyes. "I love you."
CrimsonNova
Pesto looked back into Grey's eyes, and smiled, blushing once more. Something she loved about Grey was his ability to be rather spontaneous. She pursed her lips and blew him a kiss, teasing a little as she fixed her glasses, then folded her hooves on the table, waiting for her fries."I love you too." GreyMatter
Grey, in an attempt to be cute, leans in to catch the kiss, nearly falling out of his chair to do so. Just as he regains his hoofing, the waiters drops off the meals.
CrimsonNova
Pesto laughed at Grey. Every minute they spent together, he became more and more endearing. She thanked the waiter and smiled, digging into her fries happily as she watched Grey regain himself from his slip. She was still bubbling with excitement, and she smiled to herself, thinking about the future. Their house, their foals..
GreyMatter
Grey looked into her eyes, and knew what she was thinking. Granted, it was what both of them were always thinking, but nonetheless, the two were a perfect match, and almost always on the same page. Grey Matter began to eat, awaiting the other events he had arranged for the night.
CrimsonNova
Pesto finished her fries slowly, and patted her stomach with a wing gently, indicating that she had enjoyed her meal. She smiled warmly to Grey, and began to look around at the art that hung around the walls of the restaurant. She was working out patterns and shapes in the frames, but she couldn't help but wonder if Grey was waiting for something. GreyMatter
Grey always loved when Pesto used her wings instead of her hoof to do something. It was what made her stand out, what made her unique. Grey noticed she was looking at paintings, and was torn. He didn't want to be rude by asking her to stop, but the next step on his night was even better, and he knew she would love it, and love them being together for it. CrimsonNova
Pesto had quickly filled up on her fair share of looking at the paintings. They weren't something she was interested in. Just paint on a canvas; no prints, no trees, no sculpture. She turned back to Grey and smiled, but her smile faltered a little at the look on his face. There was a tiny bit of tension there she couldn't explain. Her smile returned as she tried to rid him of this tension, by putting a hoof on his. GreyMatter
Grey perked up when he felt her hoof. "You ready?"
CrimsonNova
Pesto nodded, and stood up, smiling. Despite her excitement, the nerves of being in an unfamiliar town were getting to her, and it was nice to have his hoof to hold onto. For stability. "To leave? Yep, I am." GreyMatter
Grey left the money on the table and escorted Pesto out. He led her up a hill that overlooked the water, just as sunset was beginning.
CrimsonNova
Pesto's smile widened as she saw the sunset. She loved sunrise and sunset, though she wasn't sure she had told Grey this. She had a few paintings loosely inspired by the rising and falling of the sun.The light shimmering off the water was beautiful, and she couldn't seem to take her eyes off it, but she forced herself to look at Grey. GreyMatter
Grey turned to look at her, because he knew what to expect next. When he saw her looking at him, he pointed over the water again, as, at exactly that moment, as the sun fell off the horizon, fireworks began. "This scene is almost as beautiful as you are..." he whisperred into her ear.
CrimsonNova
Pesto looked back out to the water, and she gasped as the fireworks exploded in the sky. She was glad that it was becoming dark, but she knew that the light from the fireworks would expose her blush. When she felt his words against his ear, she giggled softly, and scooted over closer to him, so she could lean her head on his shoulder. GreyMatter
(I figured out a better one!)Grey rests his head atop hers, a cute little thing that they did often. As the fireworks died down, Grey had two more tricks up his sleeves. He gently nudged her so that she would know they they were going somewhere else now, and began downhill. Grey had found out that the local theater was putting on a production of her favorite play, Little Shop of Horrors. Regardless, they walked in unison, in about that same position, without a word, all the way until she could see the marquee.
CrimsonNova
Pesto, still reveling in the moment. She followed Grey and looked up when she saw the marquee. She then looked at him. "What is it?" she asked, giggling softly.
GreyMatter
"Little Shop of Horrors. Your favorite, if I recall. Best seats in the house." Said Grey, softly. He enjoyed the moment, and wished it would never end...
CrimsonNova
Pesto clapped her hooves together, and giggled softly again. "Really? Gosh, Grey! You thought of everything!" She kissed his cheek. She wondered what she had done to deserve so many treats. She giggled more and wrapped her wings tight around him, holding herself close to him.
