Unique Traits: Chip is a rare species of winter dragon, causing him to have cold ice breath. It freezes most things on impact, though he never uses it to hurt anyone. Mostly, he uses it to keep his sculptures cold or to show off.

History: Chip was born into a small tribe of what is known as winter dragons. Unlike most dragons that breathe and are resistant to fire, Chip and his tribe have ice breath, and are resistant to the extreme cold. They live in the snowy peak of the mountains, collecting gems in caves as most dragons do. As Chip grew up though, he noticed something. Life as a dragon was so... so boring.

The young dragon wasn't the only one who thought this. Another dragon his age named Blizzard had the same feeling, and the two quickly became friends. Then one day, out of sheer boredom, Chip came up with an idea. Pull a prank on the adult dragons! Together, they pulled it off- Blizzard was to get Chip's dad out of his cave, and as soon as he was outside, Chip pushed a huge heap of snow on him. It was hilarious! The two practically died of laughter. Chip's dad though, wasn't as impressed. That night, he got punished, and wasn't allowed to talk to Blizzard for two weeks. The boredom was worse than ever then. But as soon as he was ungrounded, Chip and Blizzard began their pranks again. Only this time, they targeted the younger dragons instead of the adults. It was the most fun Chip had in his life.

But as time went on and he grew older, the younger dragons grew to accept their natural way of life. Even Blizzard got bored of the pranking. But Chip didn't. He still found dragon life more boring than ever. And then one day, something dawned on him: Why not leave? There was much more to the world than living in a cave! When he told this to the others, there was a mix of reactions: Some didn't care, while others laughed at him and told him he was crazy. Which gave Chip even more determination to go. So, one random boring day, he left his tribe with nothing but a sack of gems that he stole.

The dragon traveled for several days until he came across a small town: Marellia. A pony town. Ponies! He had never met them before. They were so cool so interesting. However, they didn't seem to think the same way of him. In fact, they shyed away from him as he walked throughout the town. Why did they look so scared of him? He considered going back to his old home. He may not have been liked that much, but at least he was accepted there. Frusterated, Chip sat down by a block of ice at the edge of town.

Chip had sat there for a while before he noticed that he was picking at the nearby ice block unselfconsiously. He found it amusing and continued, using his claws to sketch designs in it. He thought about shaping it into something, but he didn't know what. Eventually, he started to sculpt the ice into a tree that was nearby. He seemed to be really steady with his claws.

After a while, a young unicorn mare noticed Chip and walked up to him. "Wow! That's pretty good! Are you a sculptor?" It was the first pony that had talked to him since he arrived in the town. He didn't know what to say, but the mare cut him off anyway. "Listen, I have a big party coming up, would you mind making something for me? Here, I'll give you my card. Oh, I gotta run now, late for something." She quickly handed him a card and walked away, leaving Chip beaming with pride.

Chip decided to take the offer. He made the scuplture for the mare, who was geniunely impressed. "You've got some real talent there, kid," she had said. It turned out that that mare was one of the most well known ponies in the town, and so the town grew to accept him. He decided to settle there, and enjoyed it. He even took up the name 'Ice Chip' instead of just Chip, his original birth name. He didn't even mind that he was a completely different species than the rest of the town. He fit right in.

Character Summary/Personality: Ice is a snarky little dragon, to say the least. He's laid back, a little cocky, and loves to have fun, especially when it comes to pranks. Not to mention he can be brutally honest sometimes, he has a habit of blurting out his thoughts without thinking. Ironically though, it takes a lot to insult him. He's not shy at all, perfectly comfortable around others, not minding that he's a different species than most others he knows. (But he's still looking for a pretty girl dragon to flirt a little with...) Basically, Ice is like a typical teenager- brash, lazy, and maybe kind of dumb, but also loyal, fun loving, and adventurous.

However, his personality is completely different when it comes to sculpting. He becomes full on serious and focused on what he is doing, as shaping ice is a delicate work. His steady but sharp claws help him get the job done easily. It's about the only time the dragon has some patience.

It goes without saying that winter is Ice's favourite time of year. Especially in Marellia, where the snow always piles on. It leads to some pretty intense snowball fights, which is practically considered a sport to him. He's even learned how to snowboard, with a board specially made for his unusual feet. He's gotten pretty good at it... but doesn't like to talk about that one time he went straight into a snowbank and couldn't get out... However, Ice, like most winter dragons, absolutely hate the heat. It's a good thing northern Equestria never gets that hot in the summertime.

All in all, Ice Chip is completely content with his life, as it was way better than it was growing up. He really enjoys his life, couldn't wish for anything better. The young dragon has even gone to some other cities around Equestria, and quite enjoyed them. He may be a dragon, but he fits right in.
