Coat Color: Base coat is very light gray and this is split throughout her body with dark grey stripes of various lengths and thicknesses.

Mane and Tail: She has a mane that naturally grows into a mohawk. This she trims but it naturally stands up all on its own. Her tail has an exposed dock for a few inches and then a slightly stringy tail much like any other pony's. Her mane and tail are alternating dark and light grey just like her coat. 

Physique: Lithe and fit

Residence: A home within a tree is the place for me, deep within the woods of Everfree.

Occupation: Zecora is primarily a potions maker and general sorceress. Though she is not a unicorn she does seem to posses some innate magical abilities. These are mystic and probably passes down from her ancestors. 

Cutie Mark: 

A swirling spiral surrounded by triangular points. The image looks as though it is a representation of the sun however Zecora believe it has a deeper meaning as well. 

 

The sun beat down on the tiny village in the wide expanse of the Uyansi deserts. This was a daily occurrence for the village's residents and life moved on as always. Gatherers went about finding food for the evening meal,  zebras sat in small circles and chatted while making tools and other items for daily life. The head shaman sat in his tent, studying the way pebbles and sticks had fallen from his toss. Suddenly the old zebra stood and went outside.

 

His eyes scanned the village, looking for a particular filly. He spotted her not far away with a group of young zebra. One young male was on the ground, others kicked dust at him and laughed. They made fun of him as untrained young ones had a tendency to do. The head shamen was about to step in when a filly spoke. 

 

"You all shouldn't behave this way! Can't you see what you've done? He's crying and he's hurt...this is not right! This is not fun!"

 

Zecora pushed the others out of the way and offered her hoof to the younger zebra. The head shamen smiled and after the incident was resolved he took Zecora to the side.

 

"You're behavior doe not surprise me young Zecora. The omens were right about you. You are to reach those far beyond our village, as the rays of the sun reach to all corners of this world!"

 

Zecora knew the truth in his words. She had already set in her mind to travel far from the village and learn more of what the world had to offer in other places. The shamen's words confirmed this desire and in a flash her cutie mark appeared. A spiral swirling outwards and arrows pointing out in all directions. She would influence those near and far with the goodness of what she had been given within. She would touch ponies near and far as the rays of the sun touched all the world. 

 

Unique Traits: 

Her ability to rhyme is by far her most noticeable trait. This zebra never speaks without rhyming whether it be a friendly conversation or an emergency situation. 

 

She seems to have a handle on all sorts of natural magic which is an uncommon trait in her land of Ponyville for anypony other an a unicorn or alicorn Princess but is nothing out of the ordinary in her homeland of Uynasi. 

 

Is very reliable and trustworthy, often used by others as a sounding board for tough decisions.

 

History:

 

Zecora's early years involve her running about in the Unyasi sun, learning and playing with other young zebras. She was raised by caring parents and taught the ways of peace and harmony. These traits she tried to impress upon others, even in her youth.

 

After receiving her special mark Zecora traveled throughout many lands before eventually settling on the outskirts of Ponyville as her home. The unassuming nature of this quaint town spoke to her humble ways. After selecting an area of the forest that suited her taste the zebra spent a time incorporating her home into an ancient tree. From here she is able to work on potions, mythical and natural magical art forms, and bring her good vibes to the ponies of Ponyville and beyond.

 

 

Character Summary:

 

Zecora is a kind and humble pony that is quite powerful in her speech and actions. She can be cunning but always for the good of others and growth of herself. She has a soothing way about her that most ponies grow to appreciate. She can be a bit off putting at first because she is slightly odd to most ponies. She has helped many from Princesses to the CMC!
