''Hello,

My name is Violet Charm. I'm a unicorn and I live in Ponyville with my two parents, Cherry Blossom my mother and Monarch my father. I love them both very much. They've taken care of me up until now with so much love, I never want to disappoint them. With my mother I often work on our garden in the yard. We grow different kind of flowers there and every year we try to extend it with more different species. It doesn't always work because some of the flowers have different needs. We know a lot about flowers, but not everything... but that doesn't matter. We still try and we gradually make it better every time, even if it's just by a little.

As for my father, he's a real jokester. He keeps teasing me and my mother with small harmless pranks. Well... not always so harmless. One time he decided to scare me while I was watering the flowers. He came from behind wearing a scary mask. I never saw it coming! There was then a shadow cast over me and that made me wonder if there was somepony behind. Like anyone else I turned around out of curiosity and it's then that I saw him with a dragon mask! I screamed my lungs out on this one and I was seriously about to hit him! My hoof would have gone to his face by reflex, but he was too fast! He caught me and embraced me then... Yeah... Maybe it was not a very nice prank, but as soon as I felt his embrace, that's when I knew it was him. I managed to calm down when he told me ''Hey, it's just me!''... I laughed. The scary monster was gone and the only one who was there was my father. I didn't say it yet, but my dad is very protective of his family. Everytime something bad happened he was there. Even for the smallest things he was there to comfort me. I could trip and fall, he'd come to my rescue instantly. I could say that I always feel safe whenever he's around.

As I said, I grew up with their love and I don't regret it at all. Actually I wish that anypony else could have parents as nice as mine... because it happened a few times where I encountered other ponies whose parents were not always fair with them. In cases like these I keep myself quiet because I don't want to tell them I have no problems with mine. I think... I think there is only one pony who doesn't mind it. My best friend Glady Leaf has told me her story with her own family. It's nothing pretty... but then she got me to talk about mine. She wanted to meet my mother and my father. She's kind of jealous, but not in a bad way. She's not mad for that. Actually she appreciates them a lot and so she comes over often.

Oh! Speaking of my friend, I have two best friends who I always hang out with. The first one is Glady Leaf who I already mentioned, but my other friend is more special than anypony else in a certain way! See, I've been told stories in the past. Fairy tales and all those stories with different creatures. When I was young I always believed in those, thinking they really existed. Like fairies! Those small magical creatures with the pretty wings. I always loved those because they were also related to flowers. Anyway... what I'm meaning to say is that my other best friend is actually a fairy. Not a small one, though, she's about my height, well... slightly taller than me. I'm not allowed to say too much about fairies, but what I can tell you is that she is really one of the nicest and most beautiful pony I've ever met before! She's very kind, sweet, smart and even funny! Her name is Seria Rosa. It sounds rather different from the names I'm used to hear, but that's probably because of where she comes from. Speaking of which, I heard that her home is very beautiful. I wish to go there one day with her and Glady. But I think I'm lucky enough to have an actual fairy friend!

Oh, I haven't told you about my cutie mark, right? Hmhm, that would be silly of me to not talk about it. After all, a cutie mark is something big and important for any pony. But... sometimes I'm somewhat confused about mine. Well... I mean, not really confused, but when I look around, I feel as if it's really different from the others. It's a knife over a purple flower. It shows my talent at manipulating blades, actually. Now, when I look around at other ponies, I see talents being like... drawing, singing, baking and some have more of a meaning than a special talent too. Yet I think I understand why mine is like that. I'll speak of my parents some more... See, my mother and father did not have jobs like teaching or selling things or working in a restaurant. It's... a bit darker than that, but today they're retired from this because of me. They were warriors. Yes. I rarely ever speak of this because I don't know what others might say, but... yeah, my parents still own their weapons. My mother has a long masamune blade and my father owns a spear. They told me some of what they did in the past and it sounded like they were doing really important things to help others. They never went in full details, though so I don't know everything. But I guess that it can explain why I have a cutie mark like that. I remember how I got it, actually. When I was younger I learned how to use some magic at an early age. I'm not all that good with magic, to be honest... but I learned how to move objects at a young age. One day I found daggers that were owned by my mother and while they were not around, I decided to take a look at them. They were pretty sharp from what I remember... Ah I-I didn't cut myself! I mean... from the look of the blade it was really, really thin! But I didn't pay so much attention to that... because of my curiosity I grabbed one with my magic and began to move it around. I wanted to be careful of my surrounding so I made it float above me slowly, but... but then the more I was making it float around, the more I enjoyed it. I knew what they were. It's just that these looked different from the kitchen knife my mother would use to prepare meals. I was using a tool I shouldn't be using, so I was kind of defying my parents at that moment. Well... I'm not so proud for disobeying them, but that's what earned me my cutie mark in the end. By the time my parents found me I was up on my four legs while swinging the weapons around. My parents found me and instantly got worried. When I looked at them... I smiled and laughed like a dumb filly who had no idea of what was going on. I was proud. I was doing something I shouldn't, but I was proud of what I was accomplishing with my magic and those two knives. My father rushed in and used his own magic to take those things away from me. I remember his look... It was maybe the first time I really saw his angry eyes, but not just anger. He was worried too. As I said, my father is very protective of his family, so... of course when he saw me using sharp objects he'd remove them. I felt so bad back then, I didn't dare to look back into his eyes. I had lowered my head on the ground and tried to apologize before he could say anything. It's then that I realized I had done something wrong. He began to tell me that what I was doing was very dangerous, that something could have happened to me, but he was then interrupted by my mother. When mom talked she sounded surprised. She had seen something and told my father to look. Of course, I was curious too and I looked where they were looking. Right at my flank. There I saw what they saw and we were all speechless. We all knew what it was. My cutie mark appeared without me taking notice of it. I remember that while I was swinging those knives around I had a huge grin on my face. I was happy to be able to do something like this. I really enjoyed it for some reason, but that might be because of the stories my mom used to tell me too. There were always heroes fighting against evil creatures to save someone. Of course I always wanted the good guy to win to hear the happy ending. Besides... when your own parents used to be warriors who helped others, you think of them as heroes too. So... that you want it or not, kids can get easily inspired. It so happened that for me I was inspired by my parents and by the stories I was told. So yeah... that's how I got my cutie mark. I have to say, that was a pretty unexpected thing to happen to the whole family. They never thought something like this could happen and my parents were happy for me, I think. They didn't really say much, but I remember that once again my dad embraced me with a hug tighter than usual and I think that he was crying a little too... I felt better once again, as if he had protected me from something.''
