If the part of the shading thats bugging you is her mane, I suggest finding a light source and sticking with it, or perhaps try two different light sources, each with a different color. Then you can highlight the parts of her mane you want and not have to worry about which angle the light is coming from.

She looks more fuzzy elf than fuzzy pony. Still, a cute one.

Sorry, but such human eyes on a pony creep me... You could add a shading line outlining a more Equestrian eye... Dunno...

She reminds me a lot of Jadesprite in Homestuck. Very nice job.

Oh god so adorable. To be honest it reminded me of the character 'Soubi' from the Shonen-Ai anime 'Loveless', had to check it out. And yeah, the eyes are a bit creepy, but this is still brilliant, you did great.
