  1. That may not be the same farm; no surprise that there would be several others. Makes you wonder though, why do ponies need a pig farm?? Yeah, I don't quite like the idea of AJ tending animals. The other ponies don't recoil at her smell, so I'm just going to assume she just tends to the orchards. She'd probably smell like someone else said earlier...kind of a sweet earthy scent. I dunno about the pigs, though. Maybe the ponies have a fondness for truffles, and use the pigs to locate them?
  2. In the cartoon the ponies are shown bathing quite frequently! I'm certain some things are not shown (as each episode is only 22 minutes, screen time is a bit of a premium). As horses and ponies do sweat, I can see them being able to do this without drying out their skin. I'm also going to guess that because they're intelligent, they've developed social norms about relieving oneself. While there are no toilets shown in the cartoon, there are few toilets shown in almost any cartoon. I think it's one of those things that are just assumed. Assuming that, I think they would at least smell freshly cleaned. --I can see Rarity wearing a perfume. --Fluttershy probably is fine with how she smells after her bath. I think she'd choose whatever shampoo doesn't bother her pets. I think she takes very good care of her animals, cleaning up frequently so nothing stinks. So her cottage would probably smell like a mix of small animals and pretty flowers. I can see that mixing with her scent. --Twilight would smell clean, and probably like books and ink. I don't know if performing magic would leave a smell (like how electricity can leave the smell of ozone). --It depends on what Rainbow Dash is doing. If she's working with the weather I think she'd smell like breezes and rain. If she's been working out on a routine, she'd probably smell a bit sweaty afterwards. --AppleJack works on the orchard and fields. I imagine after a hard day's work she'd smell sweaty, dusty, with a mix of apples. I could swear there are cows and pigs on the farm, as well as fields. Soooo, depending on what she's doing, she may not smell too nice at the end of the day. I think she'd spend her evenings relaxing in the tub. I can see AJ smelling like her shampoo she uses. --Pinkie Pie would probably smell like bakery and sweets. The smells would probably stick to her coat. Considering she lives above the shop, I can see this being reasonable.
  3. Lauren Faust will be auctioning off four original MLP sketches to help Japan! http://fyre-flye.deviantart.com/journal/39270057/ She'll be offering four pieces. Three of them were used to originally pitch the show! There are pieces of Applejack, Twilight Sparkle, and Pinkie Pie (who originally was going to be a pegasus pony!) She also is offering a new sketch--Derpy Hooves! This is the first time she's ever drawn Derpy, too! Lauren is awesome beyond words.
  4. It's things like this that make me love Rarity more and more. She is indeed a very classy pony! Even though it was killing Rarity to see Fluttershy succeed, it took some class to support the shy pony even at her "worst"!
  5. Welcome! I am a guy, and while I like the design of the old G1 ponies...yeeeeaaah the cartoons aren't too great. XP The new show is completely awesome. You'll find nothing but FiM lovers here!
  6. Welcome! I hope you have a great time here.
  7. I found it either on Ponibooru or Bronibooru, I was like "D'AWWWWWWWW!" ^.^
  8. Thank you! Believe me, I'm working on it.
  9. Hehe. "Let's finish our holiday cheer!" LOL, you know, in all seriousness...I haven't taken down the Christmas lights from my apartment's porch yet. I think today would be a most excellent day to do this!
  10. The reaction has been pretty positive! I've already converted a few bronies--male and female alike! I really want to get my cousin into it. She loved MLP as a kid, and I think she'd greatly enjoy the new show. She loves cute/silly/funny things. Hehehe, I wonder if I can make her husband a brony too. *cackle* *steeples fingers* Tho' really, some folks don't get it. I just tell folks not to pass judgment till they've seen a couple of episodes. I pass them a YouTube link and tell folks to go watch "The Ticket Master", "Applebuck Season", "Bridle Gossip" or "Sonic Rainboom". Maybe even "Dragonshy". They start out skeptical..then...PONYCRACK.
  11. Lauren Faust is such an amazingly intelligent and classy woman! I have nothing but mountains of respect for her. I love what she's doing with this cartoon! As a guy, I've always thought discrimination against women was ridiculous. I love how Faust is treating girls (and grown women, of course) like the intelligent, clued-in human beings they are. Like they should be! I love how Faust considers men in the equation, too! If a person wants to do something and they are perfectly able to perform--if not excel--at that thing, it shouldn't matter one bit at all how many X or Y chromosomes a person has. It's just kind of awesome in a way. I think just seeing how many guys are into the cartoon is a big freaking clue that in some respects maybe guys and gals aren't so different. I keep dreaming of a future where men and women are truly equal and respected. I don't know if it will happen in my lifetime, but it's something I hope I live to see.
  12. I only have AJ from the Happy Meal toys. I'm actually thinking of at least buying toys of the six main characters for MLP:FiM, maybe Celestia and a few others. I've always rather liked ponies--I thought they were cute! I also would like to encourage Hasbro to keep up the awesomeness that is MLP:FiM! Hopefully the thread doesn't 404 anytime soon, but there's a great thread on Ponychan regarding how to make the toys' manes and tails resemble the characters from the show. http://www.ponychan.net/chan/toy/res/431.html
  13. When I first read this I think my eyes almost popped out of my skull. Bronies everywhere! =D
  14. Ah! Now THAT makes a lot more sense. And it's awesome they include references like this!
  15. I don't remember exactly. I know that a couple of my friends seemed excited about it, and I think this was about the time the first episode was airing. So I caught it on YouTube not expecting much. (Oh boy, another reboot!) Whoa, was I wrong. I remember watching it for the first time... Okay, this is starting out kind of familiar. Twilight Sparkle? Really? REALLY? Well...okay, she's kind of an awkward geek. Okay I can relate. Applejack. She's kind of cute and charming! Haha, Granny Smith! Apple Bloom? D'AWWWW. Whoa, alright, Rainbow Dash is pretty cool. That's not anything I remember from the original.. Rarity dressing up Twilight just made me smirk! I was amused at how uncomfortable Twilgiht was. OMG. Did that shy pony just *SQUEAK*? *FALLS IN LOVE* D'AWWWWWWWWWW! Pinkie Pie is just infectious! I was worried she'd be a little annoying, but. WHOA, NIGHTMARE MOON. I *HAD* to watch the next episode. I loved this. It was so different from what MLP used to be. The expressions, the characters, the story..it was just so amazingly cool! Each episode continued to deliver. I was not disappointed. Now, we no longer call Friday "Friday". It is now "Ponyday".
  16. This was such an AWESOME episode. I laughed so hard, and I'm still smiling. I've actually watched the episode several times now, and it's still amazing. Pinkie Pie SLAYS me! And Twilight's outtakes. Fluttershy is just way too freaking adorable. And I love Rarity! Pony Gaga! This episode cannot possibly contain all of the awesome, yet it does! I love the little *squeak* noise Fluttershy makes when she smiles. Someone else had said there's no AJ or Dash in this episode. Applejack and Rainbow Dash do make an appearance! Applejack is selling apples out of crates with Fluttershy's face on them, and Rainbow Dash is pulling a Fluttershy banner across the sky. =) Regarding background ponies, I recall Lauren Faust saying that there there are a whole bunch the animators can choose from those that are already made up. She did say they didn't have a whole lot of time to complete each episode, so I'm guess the animators took the easier route. I also noticed that in some audience scenes, it looks like they were going for a color theme rather than a variety of ponies. Like a "bluish atmosphere" in some shots, for instance.
  17. Hello! I'm a new brony here, and this looks like a rather cool place to discuss all things MLP! =) I've been watching the episodes for a few months now and I LOVE IT. It's such an awesome and fun cartoon! (BTW, I dunno who drew the L'il MacIntosh pic I'm using as my icon, but it is just so freaking adorable! I hope no one minds. I'll be drawing my own pony character here shortly...)
