  1. I feel i should mention that S.M.I.L.E. is a canonical organisation. It's the secret agency that Bon Bon discloses she was a part of in "Slice of Life," and it was later expanded upon in the book "Lyra and Bon Bon and the Mares of S.M.I.L.E." (i can send a link if you'd like to read it. it's actually pretty good)

  2. Cloudy gave a sympathetic expression. "I'm super relieved to hear that. That sounds awful! I'm glad you got to live your dreams, though! If you hadn't, I wouldn't have gotten to see that spectacular performance!!"

Cloudy was glad to hear she wasn't the only one who found distaste at the idea of eating fish. She perked up at the mention of pie, though. "Strawberry. Silk. Pie??? Three of the most delicious sounding words combined into one meal?? Oh my goodness, that sounds amazing!! I can't wait to try it!" She trotted gleefully, following Windy's lead to the restaurant.

  3. Roleplay Type: WoE

    Name: Johdpur, Alias Lope Lighthoof

    Gender: Male

    Age: Stallion

    Species: Earth Pony

    Eye colour: Blue

Coat: Sky blue with a white strip down his muzzle

    Mane/Tail: Navy blue

Physique: Fairly average physique for a stallion, think the Doctor Hooves template

    Residence: Manehattan

Occupation: Secret agent of the Secret Monster Intelligence League of Equestria (S.M.I.L.E.)

Cutie Mark: Johdpur’s cutie mark appeared as a colt when he ran in the Running of the Leaves in Ponyville, where he was born. He wasn’t a part of the main event, of course, because he was too young, but he ran in the foals bracket. He and a pegasus wound up neck and neck in the last hundred metres of the track, and he was able to push himself forward, winning by a horse length. His cutie mark (three hoof prints) appeared, affirming that his athleticism was his destiny.

Unique Traits: As a trained agent, Johdpur has picked up several skills along the way. He is a gifted charlatan, which makes him good at undercover operations, as well as a good lie detector; he was trained back before the transformation of the changeling hive, and therefore was trained on how to spot them, facial expressions and gestures being one of those methods.

History: Johdpur was born and raised in Ponyville, and grew up with all the accompanying traditions, including Winter Wrap-Up, the Running of the Leaves, and many more. He was always outgoing as a colt and enjoyed all sorts of outdoor games and sports. he even seemed to have a knack for them. After winning the foals’ bracket in the Running of the Leaves one year, he earned his cutie mark in just the kinds of games and sports he loved.

As a young stallion, Johdpur tried out for and made the Ponyville buckball team, replacing Pinkie after she retired. He made his name as a talented player, though he never gained national popularity like his predecessor had.

On a return trip from the national championships, Johdpur’s train was derailed suddenly by a passing Ursa Major. Enraged by the pain of being struck, it began to tear the cars apart. Johdpur was still recovering from the impact as the car before them was crushed beneath the great bear’s paws. He knew he had to act fast. Adrenaline propelled him through the nearest opening just before the car was ripped apart. Only two other ponies escaped the carnage. And the monster still had several cars to go.

Suddenly, popping sounds were heard all around as unicorns in black vests and sunglasses suddenly appeared around the Ursa, confusing it. They brought with them earth ponies and pegasi in matching attire, who immediately began rescue efforts on the other cars while the unicorns kept the Ursa Major at bay with magical beams. Johdpur did what he could to help, and managed to rescue a couple of foals who were trapped near the front. Most of the ponies were evacuated by the time the engine exploded.

At length, the Ursa Major was tranquilized, and aerial support arrived to move it out of the area. Airships also landed to supply trauma support and medical care for the wounded while they awaited another train, which took it’s time in arriving. Before boarding, each pony was shown a hoof mirror by a unicorn and was explained where their injuries had come from and why they hurt the way they did. Their story was that the train had derailed, but that paramedics had helped them. No one on board would remember the Ursa Major or the Mares in Black.

Johdpur was one of the last to get on. He had sustained a fairly severe hindquarter injury which he did not notice until it was pointed out to him by the paramedics, who treated him for it immediately. He looked into the mirror, unaware, as the others had been, that his memory was about to be altered, when the unicorn stopped. She commented on Johdpur’s bravery and skill in the situation and invited him to join their secret agency. He would have to leave his Ponyville life behind. According to everyone who knew him, he would have died in the train accident. The unicorn gave him a choice between not remembering the traumatic experience as it was, or becoming an agent of the Secret Monster League of Equestria. After some deliberation, Johdpur signed on.

Training was rigorous, and lasting effects of his leg injury often held him back, but it was worth it. Johdpur moved from city to city, confirming changeling sightings, capturing escaped prisoners of tartarus, and running damage control on various monster attacks. He was no longer known as Johdpur. He was officially Agent Lope Lighthoof of S.M.I.L.E.

Currently, he operates out of the Manehatten Hidequarters, but he is prepared to relocate at the drop of a hat. He works closely with his Unicorn partner, Agent Tangent Line.

Character Personality: Lope is friendly and able to fit himself into virtually any social situation (part of what makes him such an effective agent). He is confident in himself to the point of being somewhat prideful.
Character Summary: Lope Lighthoof is a proud but overall kind pony who was involved in a traumatic event as a young stallion and as a result became a member of a secret monster defense agency which is in danger of collapse due to replacement by the STAR force. He has no friends, and according to all those he used to know, is dead. He can fit into virtually any social situation and is a proficient runner, though his back leg makes this more difficult for him than it used to be.

  4. "Alright! I'll leave you to it then!" Cloudy said, turning back towards the entrance. She turned back as Wind called to her, then accepted the lanyard and placed it in a pocket in her saddlebag. "Oh! Hahaha That could be important! Good thing you remembered! Now let's just hope I can do the same..." she said, rolling her eyes at herself, knowing her tendency to forget things exactly like this. She turned to leave again, but then stopped and turned back towards Wind. "By the way, I don't know if I said this before, but in case I didn't, thank you so much for inviting me!! This is seriously one of the coolest and kindest thing anypony has ever done for me! I swear I'll find a way to repay you! Thank you!!" And with that, she turned and trotted gleefully to the exit, giving another little squeal of excitement before rushing through the rotating door and flying up to the sky to get to her aunt's as soon as possible.

Her aunt and uncle were cordial and kind as always, and insisted she fully unpack and have a bite to eat before she left. Her uncle owned a place on restaurant row that they took care of together, so they took food very seriously. In her excitement, Cloudy left her list behind and rushed straight back for the hotel to meet Wind. With any luck, she wouldn't keep him waiting too long...

  5. "That sounds like a plan to me!" She squealed slightly, then abruptly remembered where she was and regained her composure as she wrote down the information Wind had given her. "Sorry! Hahaha I just can't wait!! This is going to be so much fun!!" She did a little gallop in place, then regained her composure again. "Anyway, I should probably head to my Aunt's house soon to drop off my stuff. Do you need help getting your bags to your room, or have you got it covered?"

  6. Cloudy crinkled her nose at the mention of fish. What kind of pony would eat fish? She supposed it made sense for malnourished ponies in danger of starvation, but for ponies today to carry on the tradition? It didn't make much sense. It also brought her memories of a seapony who had enlightened her to the fact that fish have thoughts and feelings just like any other animal. She didn't think she could stomach a fish, knowing what she knew now. "I think I'll hold off from the fish for now," she said. "Besides, who'd want a nasty little fish when they serve something that sounds as awesome as a Hurricane Salad??"

As they approached the door, Windy mentioned what sounded like a very painful experience with a revolving door she had. She tucked her wings in tightly as they went through, unfurling them only once they reached the other side. "Oh my goodness! That sounds awful! And right after surgery, too? Did you have to go in for another??" She looked concernedly at her own wings, thinking of what might have happened if she'd been more careless. She dared a poke towards the door with her wingtip and yelped slightly when it plucked a feather as it made its rounds. It didn't hurt, but it certainly startled her. "I see why you're afraid of those!" she said, backing away from it.

  7. Uniforms. She made a mental note not to wear her Spitfire t-shirt. "Sounds like a plan! Ooooh I can't wait!!!" She quickly jotted down the address of the hotel and the time of the dinner, but then suddenly had a thought. "But wait. Hold on a second." She reached around and rummaged through her saddlebag for a moment, finally withdrawing a schedule for the event setup/takedown crew. She had to be sure they weren't taking down the course directly after the show. If that were the case, she'd be unable to attend the dinner...

Nope! Looks like because it would be in the evening, takedown would be taking place the following morning! "Whew! Looks like I'm free that night! I was worried I'd have takedown that night, but looks like it's not until the next day!" She put the schedule away and then returned to her parchment and pencil. "So where should I meet you before the event?"

  8. xD fair enough

what kinds of characters do you have?

so far i've got a pegasus who works as a cloud machine technician in Cloudsdale, a unicorn filly enrolled in the School of Friendship against her will, and a Lord of Chaos. I'm also working on an Earth pony employed as an agent of S.M.I.L.E.

  9. Cloudy wasn't sure what to make of his response. She felt bad that he didn't have any friends, but also touched that he considered her one. "Well in that case... I'd be delighted to go! When is it?? Oh! And where is it?? What should I wear?? Should we meet up beforehoof or meet at the dinner itself??" She got out a pencil and parchment to take down details so she wouldn't forget, then looked at Wind expectantly for details.

  10. Cloudy's eyes grew wide and her mouth hung open. "WOULD I???" She was stunned with disbelief! Would this pony, whom she had met less than an hour ago, seriously ask her to go to such a prestigious event with him!? "Would I!? Of course I would! A dinner with the Wonderbolts?? Oh my goodness, this is a dream come true! I can't believe you would -- Wait a second! I can't go with you! You've got to have somepony else! I mean, I'm a nopony compared to the Wonderbolts! And besides, you barely know my name! Heck, if I'm being honest, I already forgot yours! (What's your name again, by the way?) I mean, we hardly know each other! How can you ask me to the greatest dinner I will ever experience when you don't even know who I am or anything about me??" If she was being honest, she was really mostly just flustered at the offer so suddenly, and from somepony she genuinely did not know (she legitimately had forgotten his name. She was bad with names. And remembering things in general. That's why she had lists). But she really did want to go to the dinner! She was just... nervous, she supposed.

  11. "Sounds good to me!" she said as they approached the building. She pulled her wings in as they went through the revolving doors, having learned on her las trip to Los Pegasus that those could be dangerous to pegasus wings, and then took in the majesty of the room around her. Cloudsdale architecture was some of the most beautiful in Equestria, of course, but if there was a building that could rival it, this was it. She felt extremely out of place in front of all these high-class ponies. She was certain at least two stared at her as she entered. "You can say that again..." she responded.

She deposited Wind's bags on a luggage cart while he got checked in, then brought it over to him. "Do you need some help getting these to your room, or have you got it?"

  12. Cloudy definitely had a hard time believing that Windy hadn't been a talented flier as a filly, but reserved her comments. "I know I certainly do!" she said in response to Windy's remarks on friendship. She was going to say something else, but hadn't the chance to open her mouth before another pony flew up behind them, calling for Windy by name. Well, so much for that. But it was fun while it lasted! she though, presuming this pony had more important needs which Windy would then need to attend to. She was caught off guard by the pony's actual intentions. Cloudy couldn't believe this pony! Not only was she the sweetest pony to talk to, but she also donated all of her proceeds to charity!? After even this short time knowing her, Cloudy was convinced that Windy was the true Element of Generosity. She decided to withhold any comments on the situation, not wanting to tread on the topic of finances. "Lunch sounds great! Remind me the name of the restaurant?"

As they approached, Cloudy took Windy's advise seriously. She had gotten her wings stuck in all sorts of sticky situations, being an overly-confident flier. "Knowing me, I'd probably get to experience that firsthand without a warning! Hahaha" she said. Cloudy was an above-average flier when she focused, but the focusing was the hard part. Being as scatterbrained as she was, she often overestimated her abilities and landed herself (or rather crash-landed herself) in the least graceful ways. "You'd think in a cloud district they'd use more pegasi-friendly architecture! Not like any unicorns or earth ponies are going to come waltzing up here!"

  13. Morning Glow was handling things quite well, all things considered. She didn't scream, speak, or even move. In fact, as soon as Chipper made his comment about the class hamster, she locked her jaw, knees, and hooves, and found herself unable to move. By the end of Chipper's story, she wasn't fully processing much of what he was saying. In fact, she pretty much checked out after he detailed his master's death. The cheery way he described everything... All those horrible things... Dark magic, abuse, murder. She was gripped with fear and disbelief. It was so hard to hear him from the end of that tunnel...

Another moment, and she felt the world spinning. Her head hit something hard, or was it soft? She couldn't really tell. Blackness surrounded her as she collapsed to the floor, passed out.

  14. "Oh, I don't have many plans while I'm here! I'm only in Canterlot until after takedown, so I didn't really plan anything!" she said, trying to forget the schedule she had planned out. Meeting new friends was much more fun than going someplace by yourself anyway! this would be better! "That sounds fun! I have to drop off my stuff at my aunt and uncle's, so I can do that while you get settled and then we can meet at the restaurant! Where should we meet? I didn't eat out a whole lot while I lived here, so I know a couple of places, but not very many. I know there are hundreds more that I've never heard of! Hahaha" She paused again to look at the map, this time pulling a pencil from her bag and circling the hotel. Now she wouldn't have to spend so much time looking at it! She just had to find where they were right now... there! She rounded another corner. Only a couple more blocks to go!

  15. Cloudy was overwhelmed with excitement! She must be the luckiest pony in Equestria to be receiving a tour of one of the most famed cities from a showpony like Wind Dancer! "You've gotta be pulling my leg! A showpony as skilled as you? A shut in?? But you're so wonderful! How could ponies not adore you??" Cloudy asked playfully. With Windy's gentle manner, she supposed she could imagine her being shy once upon a time. Of course, she could never imagine her that way now! She was natural onstage! No way would she be able to shut herself in in her line of work! "Jousting is pretty fun, though! Cumulonimbus worked pretty well because you'd get a nice zap if you got struck!" She giggled remembering the electric feeling.

When Windy mentioned VIP seats, Cloudy's spirit exploded. "No. Way!!! You can get VIP tickets!? That's so amazing!! Well, I mean, of course you can! A pony as amazing as you, of course you'd have connections there! But you'd seriously do that for a pony like me!? I mean, we just barely met! I can't believe you're going so far out of your way for me! There has to be a way for me to repay you! Oh! I know! I'll buy your lunch! It's the very least I can do!!"

  16. "Horseshoe Inn! That's right! Sorry, hahaha, I'm a bit scatterbrained, if you hadn't noticed!" She turned at the intersection and proceeded ahead. "Cafes are fun! I don't know of any around here within my price range though... I've heard the gardens are really nice, though!" She looked at the map once more to make sure she was heading in the right direction, then added, "Is there anything you were hoping to do in Canterlot? We can do that first!"

  17. Roleplay Type: Friendship is Magic Cast
    Name: Discord, Lord of Chaos
    Gender: Male
Age: Unknown, most likely as old as the world itself. The first known documentation of him was 1,000 years prior to the events of the Friendship is Magic series
    Species: Draconequus
Eye colour: Yellow eyeballs with red irises and white pupils
Coat: Predominantly brown, though with different colours to correspond to the different creatures that make up his body:

    • Grey head and neck (pony)
    • Brown torso (Eagle)
    • Yellow/tan right arm (Lion)
    • Brown/tan left leg (Goat)
    • Green right leg (Lizard)
    • Red tale (Dragon)
    • Light blue left wing (Pegasus/Bird)
    • Dark blue/black left wing (Bat pony/Bat)

Mane/Tail: Black mane on his head but pink plates running down his tail and ending in a white tuft
Physique: Tall and thin, very much like a snake or Chinese dragon. He has four limbs but unlike most Equestrian creatures is bipedal. The level of muscularity varies from limb to limb but is proportionate in size to the creature it is from. He is comprised of at least ten distinct creatures (listed above, in addition to the horns, described hereafter). He has two horns (one from a gazelle and another from a deer) and a single fang. He has two wings but rarely uses them, preferring "snap travel" to any other form of transportation. He can manipulate his own shape, size, outfit, and form at will, which he often does for comedic effect (or to bring together four of Equestria's worst villains).
    Residence: Chaosville, Equestria
Occupation: Protector of Equestria: After being reformed, Discord is occasionally called in by the Princesses to help assess and neutralise threats to the kingdom. However, he does this only at his own pleasure, cooperating only if/when he wants to. He knows that the magic of friendship is sufficient (and is in many ways more powerful than his own) for the protection of Equestria, and so will more often encourage its use than employ his own. On the side, he is an avid Ogres and Oubliettes player and professional mischief-maker.
    Cutie Mark: N/A
Unique Traits: Discord is the only known draconequus in Equestria. His magic gives him total control of all reality, and should he choose to use its full potential, he could thrust the world into eternal chaos (which he has attempted three times, twice being thwarted by use of the Elements of Harmony and the third time ending of his own free will in order to keep his only friend, Fluttershy). Chaos is a part of him and is actually one of his sustaining features. Without chaos, Discord would fade away out of existence. For this reason, he is often seen in random positions or outfits, usually comedic in nature, regardless of how serious the situation is.

History: Discord's origins are unknown, but his first appearance was in Equestria 1,000 years prior to the events of the Friendship is Magic series. During his reign, he transformed Equestria into his personal playground of chaos, inverting gravity, spreading chocolate rain from cotton-candy clouds, changing textures of the world, etc. Only after Celestia and Luna discovered the Elements of Harmony and used them to turn him to stone did his reign end and he was imprisoned in the Canterlot Garden Maze for a millennium. At some point, the powers of chaos within Equestria became strong enough to break the spell binding him (pushed over the edge by a nearby argument between three fillies whose names we will not discuss for personal privacy reasons [it was the Cutie Mark Crusaders]) and he was released to corrupt reality once more. Discord is more interested in the thrill and fun of games than he is in being totally victorious and so he left open a way to defeat him, provided the Mane Six could figure it out. After corrupting them individually against their own natures, he practically cemented his own victory and resumed the storm of chaos that the Elements had halted one thousand years prior. However, Twilight soon learned how to circumvent his tricks and unified her friends once more, then used the Elements to turn him back into stone, ending his reign once and for all.

Not long after his second defeat, Celestia ordered the Mane Six to bring him back as she felt he could be a powerful ally. With time, love, and friendship from Fluttershy, Discord soon reformed and proved Celestia right, making himself a powerful ally to the kingdom. It took him a while to warm up to the other ponies, however, and for some time, Fluttershy remained his only friend and sole motivation to do anything in Equestria's favour. He refused to lift a finger to assist when his seeds of chaos planted before his first entombment sprouted and kidnapped the princesses. In fact, his bond with the other ponies was so weak at first that on his first mission, he quickly defected, choosing to side with Lord Tirek in his attempts to overthrow Equestria. This taught him a difficult but meaningful lesson, and he has remained loyal ever since. He often acts selfishly but typically has the best intentions in mind. He has been known to feign disability and injury in order to prove the power of his friends' friendship, and even went so far as to stage a massive, elaborate attack on Canterlot on the day of Twilight's coronation for the sake of boosting her confidence (a plot that backfired terribly on him and the rest of Equestria).

Character Personality: Discord is the picture of chaotic good. He acts only if and when he wants to, and is not a fan of work. He is more spontaneous and random that Pinkie Pie herself as it is within his very nature to be so. Though he is loyal to his friends, he tends to act in his own self interests first (unless of course Fluttershy is involved). He shares a powerful bond with Fluttershy that many take for romance, but is in fact simply a very strong friendship (he has already displayed in the series his distaste for and lack of understanding of romance and love). He is optimistic and incapable of not finding humour in any situation. It is in his nature to be as chaotic and comedic as possible.
Character Summary: Discord is arguably the most powerful being in Equestria, having control over all reality, but only if he wants to be. He typically only exercises his power to the extent of entertaining himself or benefitting (in however roundabout a way) his friends. Once, he was the most powerful villains Equestria has ever known. Now, he is one of its truest friends. His best friend is Fluttershy. He loves Ogres and Oubliettes and all things chaos. He requires chaos to survive, in fact, having nearly been wiped from existence in an incident in which he tried to behave normally. He is the only being of his type and the only known creature (other than perhaps Tirek) capable of safely harnessing the powers of chaos magic. He loves to be the centre of attention and often does things simply for their comedic impact. In the end, he is a loyal and powerful friend.

  18. Cloudy breathed a sigh. "Oh good! I thought you would want to get away from me as soon as possible! Hahaha Y'know, steer clear of the crazy pony!" Of course, this had never really happened, but Cloudy was always anxious when meeting new friends in new places. "What?? Of course it's cool with me! You, a Wonderbolts reserve, want to hang out with me?? How could I say no!? What should we do?? Ooh! You could show me some of your tricks! Or we could go to the Canterlot Garden Maze or do a castle tour or--" She stopped for a moment to check the map again. "Where did you say you're staying again?"

  19. Heyo! welcome to the community! and don't even worry! when i first joined i was totally lost! it takes a little bit, but once you poke around the site a bit, it becomes easier to understand. read through all the site information forums for guides on how stuff works and if you're curious about the rp, feel free to read some of those forums too! all of those things helped me understand. plus asking questions! i did a lot of that! you'll pick it up pretty quick, i'm sure!

  20. Cloudy waited up for the other pegasus, taking a second look at the map before she continued, this time alongside him. "Pleased to meet you, Windracer!" she smiled, checking the street one last time as they trotted. "Oh, I'm just staying with my aunt and uncle. They live here in Canterlot, so they thought they'd spare me the bits by letting me stay over! They really are some of the nicest ponies in Equestria! I stayed with them for a while while I worked here, and they put up with me the entire time, even when I would come home in casts."  She chuckled slightly at that last comment, hoping to hide some of her embarrassment. "How about you? Where are you stay-- wait, I already know the answer to that one!" Cloudy laughed at herself a bit, mentally facepalming. Nice going, Cloudfeather. Really hitting it off! She sighed. "I promise I'm not always this scatterbrained. I just tend to lose it a bit when I get to a new place, even if I have been here a hundred times! Plus I love making new friends! Or I mean, if you don't mind! If that's crossing boundaries, then I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have assumed! We don't have to be friends!"
