  1. Ha! The female pony shape just looks more dynamic and interesting. And since there are so many of them, it is hard to remember that the males look different. I didn't even notice that weesh got the more appealing look until just now, but I like it more this way.

I'm just a colt who loves the ladies. ;) And apparently...guys shaped liked ladies... o.O :o

But seriously XD If its not specified or I plan to make a pony look different most ikely it will have a female-ish pony appearance.

  2. nothing wrong With a black outline... Cause I cant seem to Get the outline to look right otherwise

The way mines works is that, i start with the outline first, then do individual fills for each laer. My layers are usually labeled parts of the body like: Body, Left Front Leg, Left Back Leg, Mane, etc. I could have "colored" them if I wanted to but, decided on just leaving them black.

  3. I'd like to think that being a princess has some advantages, and not needing to wade through 1000+ pages of boring financial documents should be one of them. But how would you make a 1000+ page tax form interesting?

Maybe she is just checking the summary sheets after someone else did the heavy lifting?

Or maybe her assets are not expanding much, and the form stays similar each year. In this case, she could just be reviewing the changes?

Or maybe she needs an excuse to wear those cute glasses?

I like the second reason better. "Buck the tax forms, I want to look 20% cuter!"

  4. So adorable. :)

    Fun idea!

It amuses me to try to figure out why a princess wouldn't hire someone to take care of her prodigious assets.

Perhaps the tax code is structured to make the process fun?

Or it breaks up the monotony of her duties?

Another reason would be because she wants people to treat her like a normal pony/like everypony else. Maybe in Equestria ponies don't usually hire somepony to do their taxes.

  5. If they're actual Chuck Taylors/Converse shoes, the inside ankle has a large, round logo. He'd have to cover it up or remove it to do their cutie marks.

Edit: PS: Not doubting Lovin's shoes, just sayin' that's what's on the other side of the shoe ^^

Yep, they'r legit Chuck Taylor's, so yeah, the other side had that giant logo on it. Once I learn how to remove it, I'll...

Are the other sides blank? Because you could paint their cutiemarks on the blank sides!

...Yeah! Thats what I planed to do before, because you can't really see all of their cutie marks. I also thought I'd paint 3 more of my OC's on the other side for Folarin's shoe and 3 more of the mane 6 on Twilight's shoe.

You're a very talented artist, and I'm not. I wonder what it would be like to spend a day in your shoes. I bet drawing awesome ponies is a walk in the park for you. Being able to do things like this must make you feel pretty good and levitated, high top even.

Whoa! :-|I thank you for the compliment, but you don't have to say your not. The only way to get good is to practice. Talent will only take you so far; Its about 10% talent 90% skill, maybe lower for talent.

...Yeah, it is easy, but look at it this way. Why is it easy? Because I practice, practice, practice. I've never told anyone, but I've been practicing since I was old enough to draw lines (three years old). And even then, there are people a lot better than me!

I'll admit, I do feel a little on top because my artistic ability is better than a lot of other people, but lets face it...everyone could be a great artist if they practiced. People I know are quick to say they can't draw or have no artistic ability.

I think everyone has ability to do whatever they want, whether it be art, writing, music, or even any other type of activity. You just need to practice and keep working at it. Its only easier for some people because they have a bit of talent which helped them.

In all honesty, I'm a bit envious of you. You don't have the spark of talent like I do, which means you don't have anything to start with, you start from the ground up and build your artistic base from there, sure its probably harder (I would assume), but I think you would ave a lot of determination to do it if you wanted. (Become an artist I mean)

A lot of artist stick within there comfort zone when it comes to art, meaning they really don't try new or different things aside fro what they know, which can make them really good in what they know how to do, but they are oblivious to other methods of doing things.

Sorry this is so long, This is just my opinion of things. Yes, you may not be a talented artist (who knows, maybe you just haven't found the method your good at using), but that doesn't mean you can't be one with skill. There a huge line between skill and talent, believe me. I've seen to many people rely on their talent on my way through the school system, and it just ended up getting sad because they never did anything different. Not that its a problem, but you won't get better if you stick to what you know.

  6. Do you live in a clean city? I'd never be able to keep the dust from my shoes save never wearing them outside.

It's rather clean here. I live out in the suburbs and it's really clean out here. I sometimes travel to the city, but its still moderately clean, just need to watch where you step.

9 times out of 10, you'll stop in/on a pack of McDonald's Honey Mustard before anything else.

  7. I suppose there is benefit to calling attention to a work of art that is not at the normal viewing level. What color laces are you going to use?

At the moment I'm using a pair of grey laces, but I'll eventually swap them out for something else. Maybe something obvious, like purple for Twilight's shoe and Yellow for Folarin's shoe.

Or I might get shoe laces based on their eye color.

I suppose there is benefit to calling attention to a work of art that is not at the normal viewing level...

Sure, let's go with that. :halo:

  8. Thanks everyone for the great compliments! I appreciate it. :)

    As for Weesh...

    Excellent.

Why did you add the outline to Folarin? It doesn't look better or worse to me. They are both fantastic, so I am curious what the thought process was.

Um I honestly don't know! It just seemed kind of bland with just him on the shoe.

Okay, here's a solid reason...I wanted a color that contrasted with the black. White was just what popped into my head. It might not make any difference, but hey...

Edit: Don't take that reason seriously, sometimes artist just..do stuff. This was a moment for me. :D

  9. If I had money I'd comission you a pair with Pinkie Pie on the right foot and Pinkamina on the left.

Sadly I'm flat broke and potentially in the red.

Yeah, thats why I think it wouldn't be a profitable endeavor in many places. I'm not sure how many people can afford them, how much I should charge, etc.

I guess I'll start a thread (eventually) and see where it goes from there.

  10. How the hell...? This is badflank. What about the Cutie-Mark though, it seems to be missing.

Its there, its the greyish looking part near his flank. The drawing was large enough that only the top part of it would fit I wanted the whole thing though.

I would wear the hell out of those.

Thanks. :) I'm glad you like them.

you could turn a healthy profit with thoes

Thats if anypony/anyone would want a pair. I love making stuff for people :D

  11. I really like this. I can't be of much help though. :( I only know a few freeware programs and they were already stated.

Inkscape is closest to Photoshop/Illustrator so thats probably your best substitute.

I tried Gimp, but I guess I was to accustomed to Adobe and Adobe kock off's that I found it hard to use.
