About $70 on iTunes for every episode to today. For related but not specificially FiM, $80 on art supplies (and $5 for the train fare to get to the store ;P). So about $150 give or take. Probably gonna get a 20% Cooler hoodie, which will tack on about another $20-25. Except for more iTunes downloads as each ep gets released and to restock on art supplies when needed, I probably won't be investing much more. Like others have stated, I invest time into a fandom rather than collecting stuff.

Haha, You're Gonna Go Far Kid became one of my favorite songs (either the re-pitched version or original, I love both xP) because of that remix, lol. I actually hadn't heard the song before the remix, so I was tricked into thinking it actually was sung by RD's voice actor until I read the description, lol. It was also before I decided to watch the show, but was really a major deciding factor for me and probably why I love Dash so much in the first place. Same story here, although instead of wearing the clothes, I have FiM for my laptop and cellphone wallpapers and draw the characters in public. No one's stopped and chatted so I dunno if that means no bronies or no bronies want to reveal themselves. Actually, I did come across someone drawing FiM-style characters on her laptop and stopped to talk but it turned out she was just a fan of the toy line, not the show itself. Sooooo.... cloooosse....

Do you do much traditional art or is it all pretty much digitally editted stuff like your avatar? And as for your reference to grimdark, I assume you're talking about Cupcakes? Personally, that one got me into the genre all together (although I've only read two so far - Cupcakes and Rocket to Insanity) - the way the authors explore the psyche of the characters involved is amazing and I can't get enough, lol. Although yes, Cupcakes was over the top.

Basically Twilight in battle. Although what she's running from I have no idea, maybe here number came up? AJ finding Dash at Sugarcube Corner and trying to comfort her after the events of said fanfic which shall not be openly described here (warning: read Cupcakes and Rocket to Insanity at your own risk, if you are so curious ;P). I really need suggestions for this one, particurly AJ. I just don't know how to have her hug Dash without making her upper torso look stretched and deformed. Any ideas for the background would be nice too. As for the shading, I shaded the parts that will be the darkest in the colored version. Any opinions on that - like or should be tweaked? So yeah, that's my trek through pony art over the past month. Any tips or tricks? Suggestions? Any constructive criticism on the manga aspects would be appreciated as well.

D: And wow, I pretty much became a brony the same way you did and in the same amount of episodes. As far as favorite pony goes, I kind of felt the opposite - leaning toward Rainbow Dash and feeling she was underrated compared to Applejack (but I still love AJ, second best ).

I'm ZeroHero, a relatively new brony on the west coast. I've been in the US Navy for over a year and was deployed while this MLP phenomenon came around, so I was surprised to come back to some old gaming buddies on Skype afterwards to find them wearing MLP avatars. At first I didn't understand that they actually liked the show but instead thought of it as some big troll or something - they were just wearing the avatars and claiming to like it for laughs. I guess they were kind of on a “don't ask, don't tell” deal - I never bothered asking (well, I asked what their avatars were and they simply said My Little Pony but didn't elaborate) and they never brought it up. One of my friends isn't a brony complained to me about it once, saying that it all started in the “armpit” of the internet” (I actually didn't learn about 4chan until much later, after I had become a brony - yeah, I'm not very internet savvy). It was about two months later that I came across a thread about FiM that one of my friends had started and, reading through it, realized that they seemed to be legitimately discussing the show rather than poking fun at it like I was expecting. So because of that, I decided to give it a shot. I watched the first episode and didn't see what the fuss was about so I decided it must get better and watched the second episode, which was better but still left me wondering what everyone saw in this show and the third episode was pretty bland. It was at this point I was pretty much ready to give up but against my better judgment, decided to watch the fourth episode a day or two later because curiosity was still nipping at me and found it was considerably better than the first three and the fifth was great as well and unfortunately here I am today. A few of the mash-ups and fan music on Youtube helped as well - two of my favorites are an audacity pitch shift of You're Gonna Go Far Kid to sound like Rainbow Dash and someone's custom theme for Dash comprising of remixes of her solos from Winter Wrap Up and At The Gala. As a result, Dash pretty much became my favorite pony, along with Applejack. I've become a fan of AJxRD - they were especially cute together during the running of the leaves. As for me personally, as I said before I'm enlisted in the US Navy as a Logistics Specialist - in a nutshell, we manage the flow of supplies throughout the command, so essentially we're accountants on a small scale. I had decided to join in 2009 while I was a junior in high school. During the summer leading up to my senior year I was called up by the local recruiter who was calling the top students of the local high schools. I had decided to take a look, particularly interested if the Navy did anything in the form of sports since I love playing just about anything sport I can get involved in but didn't want to go semi-professional or higher - just play for the fun of it, basically. He also asked me what I was planning on majoring in in college and at the time it was accounting, so he told me about the LS rate. He also told me about the G.I. Bill that helps pay for college tuition as well as the opportunity to see foreign countries on deployment. When I started to seriously consider it, they had me go through the physical and aptitude testing and it turned out I was a shoe-in, nailing the PFA and scoring 80 on the ASVAB (meaning I scored higher than 80% of the people who took the test). So I graduated high school in June 2010 and a month later I was on a plane bound for Great Lakes and two months in the wonderful world of boot camp. Went from there to A-school and now I'm stationed on board the USS Ronald Reagan in California. I went on my first deployment from February to September of this year. Over that time, we assisted the Japanese after the earthquake and tsunami in March and then went on to assist the operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. I've also been to a few foreign countries including Thailand, Hong Kong, and Bahrain. It's been a ridiculously bumpy ride, but I felt I've really grown mentally and physically over the past year and very glad I said yes to the recruiter two years ago. I'm still a Seaman, but I'll be up for promotion to Petty Officer 3rd Class in March - wish me luck! Before joining the Navy, I grew up in southern Minnesota. During my high school years I was pretty much the handyman. I grew up in a very small town - the population was about 1200, and I first started gaining a reputation in my communion. My father was the soundboard operator and overall tech support in my church for years but after my parents divorced and he moved away I was trained by a family friend to replace him. In sixth grade I also started a paper route job that I would keep at until I left for boot camp. The route included a lot of people in my communion and school, so between that and my support at church people started calling me for odd jobs and it just started to spread from there - I soon found myself mowing lawns, hauling lumber, installing insulation, assisting with farm work, and etc. for a fair chunk of the town. As far as school went, I held on to a solid position in the top 10 students of my graduating class for the entirety of my high school years (granted my class was only about 35 people or so, so that's not very impressive) and started taking college courses as a junior. While I wasn't as successful at sports, I still enjoyed them. I played on the basketball team for my 9th and 10th grade years, opting to replace the bookkeeper after he graduated after that, and stuck with the baseball team my entire life as a utility player. While I wasn't the best, my speed allowed me to play pretty much anywhere in the outfield and be a very reliable back-up for the infield as well as the other outfielders and I rarely let a ground ball past so I was a solid infielder as well - the only thing I didn't do was pitch and catch. Although my strength and accuracy with throwing weren't the best so I didn't see a lot of playtime. Outside of school teams, I played tennis with my siblings (we were pretty enthusiastic about it but the school never offered a program so we never got formally taught the basics) and hockey/soccer/lacrosse on the streets as pretty much the best goalie in my class (basically because I wasn't afraid to take shots, lol).</p> As for my hobbies, I've been writing and drawing cartoons for as long as I can remember - at least 14 years because I know I was definitely well into it by the time Pokemon debuted in 1998, which become the main subject of my work for the next decade and beyond. I've been fine-tuning my writing skills for the past three years now or so and even “tutored” friends who wanted help with their fanfics for a bit. I've also started to crack down on drawing and really starting to learn manga and new retro techniques - although I've got a long way to go in that. I've been an avid Yugioh player for about six years now - I started playing competitively during the Monarch Perfect Circle format and have been dabbling in a handful of play styles and deck types but my main type has solidly been Elemental Heroes all this time - I'm currently piloting a deck based around Neos Alius built to swing over bosses consistently to the point of whoever can last the longest between getting hit every turn wins - it's a pretty risky strategy but hits hard when the opponent isn't prepared to lose their field advantage every turn so I win some, lose some. I've also touched on Magic the Gathering recently but still have a ways to go in that. I'm currently using an infect strategy that utilities low cost infect creatures with low cost direct damage spells to back up their low stats (typically 1/1) so that I have a pretty quick opening game and a hard-hitting sweep up with Phyrexian Swarmlord in the end. I've been thinking a lot about my future since I was a freshman in high school but I'm still juggling options and really don't know what I'll be doing a few years down the road. I've been considering accounting since I found it pretty natural and was pretty interested when I was introduced to it in school; I've also been thinking of looking into starting a business in the trading card game industry either opening hobby shop or applying for a company that produces the games; then there’s also teaching - I'm slightly interested in becoming an English teacher; recently I've taken a liking to animation (you can thank FiM for that one xD); and I haven't completely ruled out making a career in the Navy. Yeah, my interests are pretty scattered at the moment - I guess if I were an FiM character I'd still be a blank flank, lol.
