  1. This is the third time I've ninja edited my post.
  2. Going to watch this tonight. Without spoilers, what's the episode about? The synposis is a bit vague for me. I'm trying not ot read your guys' posts, because I don't want any spoilers.
  3. Wish I could have gone, but i'm gonig to watch what I missed in the archives tonight. Mainly the VA Panel, and the auction. Fighting is Magic and Equesria Online both look awesome! Even in their pre-alpha stages.
  4. Yeah, the collectors toys (Or more accurately, figurines.) would be good. However, a lot of children wouldn't want glass figurines over one that they can play with, so it WOULD be for us bronies only. With the exception of some children who have a hobby in collecting, of course. So just the figurines would be enough for me. The accurate toys for everypony, but the figurines for the adults, so to speak. The show itself is fine, but liek I said, some "older" humor would be nice. It is in no way necessary, but it would be a cool good touch. Maybe references that only adults would understand, like older films and such. It wouldn't be the first, and it wouldn't have an effect on their target audience. This is completely optional, and wouldn't affect me either way though. The "Collector toys" would HAVE to be made of glass, or porcelain, or a material similar. That way, they can be 100% accurate to the show, as they would be made of paint and molds. They could be priced at around $25-40 a figurine, which, to me, is reasonable IF it is a collectors' item, and not advertised solely for children. The nods to the bronies is at a perfect level for me, too. With Derpy, and other background ponies as you all have said, I thinnk the level there is perfect. Just my two cents. ^^;
  5. So, what I'm sure all of you are aware of, is that Hasbro is acknowledging it's "older" audience. There will be people that only want more accurate toys, and others who want the show "devoted to them" so to speak. If it was up to the community to choose the perfect "balance" for Hasbro and their "older audience" what would be the right amount? I'm not adding a poll, because this is COMPLETELY opinion based. But here are a few examples to get your mind going in the right direction. A.) Some more acknowledgement, but nothing much: More accurate toys, Derpy Hooves toys, more mention of the older audience in commericals, and T-shirts for older people. B,) Extreme devotion: Expensive collector toys, Derpy Hooves added to main cast, contests and conventions primarily for the "bronies", new episodes with older humor. C,) Less acknowledgement of "bronies": More toys that appeal to younger audiences. (Innacurate, but eye candy for children) more pink and "girly" episodes. More G1-3 like-episodes. Please note: These are ONLY examples so that you understand what this is about. You will not be oblgiated to choose them. Make your own! Personally, I think that more t-shirts, and accurate toys and MAYBE more background pony toys would be enough. Not too much, and younger audiences can appreciate it too. Some episodes that incorproate older humor, while the chidlren still understand what they are talking about. (Something like the DIsney movies, and some Spongebob episodes, as an example.) Nothing too extreme, and we can all enjoy the show still. Now what do YOU think is the perfect balance? Note 2: The "balance" would be applied naturally in the future, and not from the beginning of the show, hope this clears up some confusion.
  6. Something is terribly wrong here. It like-, er, I-I don't even know. help.
  7. To me, "everypony" is not distracting, and I find my self correcitng my self when I use it in real life. I use it so naturally nowadays..
  8. In the show, both "everypony" and "somebody / everybody" are both used, quite often. Especially by Twilight. "Everypony" is harmless wordplay, that's all. If you don't like it, don't use it, and it IS only two different letters.
  9. In my opinion, I think it was the three week break from episodes that did it to you. I had started feeling the same way, until last night, I remembered the new episode was today. (Still need to watch it ) The fanbase was over running the show during the three week period of no episodes, so it kind of felt like the show wasn't 'on" any more. The immense amount of PMVs, fanfics, artwork ,and such that have been made since the last episode has really blown up, and I think it started to over run the show itself. This sounds "extreme", but it's not really. Because they're getting back on the track of an episode a week, your love of the show should return. Especially if you get more episodes about your favorite mane6 pony. Try to go as long as you can without even thinking about the show, or what is has spawned. Try to make it until the next new episode. That's pretty muc hwhat I did since last Saturday, and I feel my love for the show returning quickly! Hope this helps!
  10. Lauren Faust confirmed for June 31st Bronycon! I HAVE to go now!
  11. I support the "Read it and weep" episode 100%! MORE DASHIE EPISODES! The idea of her being in a hosptial and reading, alone, is really against her personality, so maybe we're going to see some more character development? I can't even begin to wonder what the "Hearts and Hooves" episode will be. Little girls aren't interested in love yet, so I wonder how they're going ot pull it off. For those of you complaining about two Dashie episodes in a row, she's not the only one getting two episodes in a row. Applejack is, (Or more or less the Apple familly) Mare-do-well wasn't bad, either. It showed the personality we knew she had, all along. And since then, she's acted different. So the episode itself may have been "bad" in some terms, but the moral of it was a very good one. May the best pet Win though, was VERY enjoyable for me! I just KNEW the Tortouise would be involved! Still excited for these!
  12. That's not soon enough. I'd give it until noon tomorrow. Mention a new episode, and have him watch it. (Family Appreciation day this Saturday at 9:00 AM eastern.)
  13. If you have any shirts left, would you consider mailing me one? My guess is that you won't have any left. Rainbow Dash or Pinkie Pie would work.
  14. Yes, but it wasn't until "Luna Eclipsed" that she was addressed as "Luna" officially throughout the fandom. I didn't read any fanfics with that name, or anything prior. MAYBE a mention here and there, but that's about it.
  15. http://www.youtube.com/user/rainbowdashzx?feature=mhee When I pasted this, I was surprised it's still there. Copied it over an hour ago. (Yes, that's my channel.)
  16. Oh gosh, I remember that from like SO many years ago. "Don't Fear the Derpy!" Derpy is awesome, but is a very "touchy" character. If you want an entire episode devoted ot her, what would happen? The entire Derpy fanbase would shift, as a lot of fanon would be demolished. The "spot the derpy" game the creators have made for us is AWESOME! Why ruin it? Don't fix what isn't broken.. Her appearance in Luna Eclipsed made me literally laugh out loud for a good 10 minutes. It was funny, awesome, and cute, which I didn't think was a possible combination prior to it. Her appearance in Hearth's Warming Eve may seem like a bit much to most of you, but to me, it was an episode focused on the Mane 6, so it would have been difficult for them to stick her in there well. On top of that, I enjoyed her waving. It almost felt like she was waving at us bronies, wishing us a Merry Christmas, y'know? The fanbase has made Derpy a great character, and I feel we should leave it at that. If Luna Eclipsed was never released, we wouldn't have the name Lunaa, let alone her new look. But SHE is one of the "main" characters, because she is related to Celestia, so I felt it was necessary eventually. If the creators gave an episode all about the background ponies, then there wouldn't be any left. So the hsow would become very mundane, in terms of most of the scenes. Imagine a scene full of only main characters. It's not very exciting, is it. AND the fanbase for a lot of the background ponies would be demolished, too. Fanon destruction can be good, or bad. In this case, it's bad.
  17. The best way is not ot force it on him. If he says no, and he is persistent, maybe he just doesn't want to like it, or he just doesn't? DOn't force this show on people, it always ends up going bad if you do. Try to show him some PMVs, and other fanmade creations too, if he's willing. Otherwise, maybe he just doesn't want to watch the show? I know it is hard to believe, but there ARE people who don't like this show.
  18. Hello everypony! I've got a suggestion for you! I can't put my finger on it, but I believe this forum is operating on vBulletin 4, or 3 at the earliest. vBulletin has the ability to have an integrated chatbox where you'd like it. And it can be enabled for guests, or members only. If I can remember the link, I'll postit. A forum i'm visiting now uses it, and it has custom fonts, colors, and you can put emoticons, images, and such. No need for IRC would be nice, though. It uses your default username, so all you do is log in, and it will appear. I suggest you do this! ~Dashie
  19. Sadly, I have not invested any moneey in to this show. I WOULD, but my parents don't know I watch it, or anybody except two fo my brothers. Otherwise, I'd have EASILY $100 or more invested in 10. seconds. flat. I've got my virtua lstuff, so that keeps me sane for now.
  20. I'm only 15, so I don't have a "real" job, but I do work around our farm every day. What better experiene than real physical work? I'm not really a person to live in the country, because I LOVE technology, but it is quite peaceful out here. I'm skilled in Computers, and how to build them, fix them, and pretty much clean your system, assuming you're on Windows. I've helped some people, but i've never generated any money from it. Usually, a smile and a "thanks" is good enough for me. I like the "idea" of working at GameStop, but it just seems boring whenever you go in to one and see what the employees are up to. So I'd rather have a job in something like WIndows technical support, or physically fixing computers for people.
  21. I just don't want to be a burden, that's all. If ANYTHING is too much of a hassle, don't worry about it. I REALLY wish I could go! I've got so many stories and things i'd like to share. And hanging out with all of you would be AWESOME!
  22. Hm...Let's see...I've got Rainbow Dash in my name, an avatar, and I talk about her all the time. Who's is my favorite? Applejack's in the episode "The Elements of Harmony" in season one immediately after the giant dragon. (Who Rarity lends her Mane to) falls in to the water, and she has the long bangs in the front. Yes, I'm being that specific. I'm sure a lot of you know what I'm talking about, and others, well, look it up, I can't seem to find an image. Otherwise, OF COURSE it's Rainbow Dash!
  23. Gosh, I hope you guys don't ignore my novel of a post, but here goes. Even if this is fake, it's a good moral lesson to all of us. You can't just come out with a bombshell like "I'm gay." or lanything similar, or on that level. You need to takes these things slowly. My parents or sibling don't know i'm a brony, (Except for two of my younger brothers, one being paradox.) I'm very open about it, but I don't show it off, basically. I'll make references, mention the show, and crack some jokes about it. But I don't scream "I LOVE MLP!" every day. That's just you begging for attention. If oyu are consulted about it, you can't hide it. But if nobody asks, don't telll. (Unless of ocurse, you're attempting to convert somebody.) What they don't know, won't hurt them (Or you) right? I've got all of s1 and s2 on my PC right now. It's not hidden, but it's not plastered all over my Computer, either. In regards to the original Reddit post: I don't think it's fake, but I don't think it's real, either. Rather, somebody made up a story, and that story is to teach us a lesson. Otherwise, if it IS real, then I DO feel sorry for him, and wish him the best of luck. In his case, he didn't tell his parents about his love of the show, but rather, they found it. This is never a good way for parents to find things out. Instantly, they are filled with mixed emotions of anger, confusion, and betrayal. They feel you're hiding ti from them, mad that you are (Even if you're not) and feel betrayed because you didn't tell them about it. What I, myself, have noticed, is that the term "Love and Tolderate" is being overused is some cases. Find the average brony online, ask him if he's gay, and his response wil most likely be anger, and bashing back at you. This may not hold true to you guys, but it is true in a LOT of Youtube comments, blog posts, and the like. You can't get mad at others, but love and tolerate. It just doesn't work like that. Since ponies have come in to my life, my attitude has changed a LOT for the better. My parents have noticed, but they haven't asked why. The relation between furries and bronies is what is getting on my nerves. Personally, I HATE furries. But I won't flame one, or anything like that. They like what they like, and I like what I like. I just personally find it a little bit creepy. (But many think the same about bronies..) It's like, bestiality, but not at the same time. Bronies are fans of MLP FiM, and the occasional g3 and earlier bronies. Furries are fans of half-human0half0animal creatures. Of ANY game, show, and such. So how are we similar? We like a show for "little girls", and they like half-human-half-animal creatures? I'm not seeing the connection. However, I can kind of see the connection between bronies and "child molesters". Although I am SURE ( I hope..) that none of you guys, or any bronies are, when you look at us from an outside point of view, it can be a bit creepy. Lets say...a 30 year old man watching a show for little girls. Sounds creepy, doesn't it? If you are to post. "If he likes it, that's just him." then your post is classified as a brony post. Love, and tolerance. BUT what the general public sees is a pedophile. That is where the connection between broniesand child molesters comes from. I enjoy this fanbase, I really do. I am, however, bothered by these few things; over sensetive / defensive bronies, People that overuse "Love and tolerate." and those who absolutely OBSESS over the show. These kind of people can REALLY get on my nerves quickly. Granted, I haven't met many of them, but they are out there. What really bothers me is people who assume you're "gay" for liking a show wit hrainbows and pink in it. So what? Rainbows does not equal "homosexuality" Does that mean that leprochauns are gay? No. (Even if they aren't real, it's an example.) If I like this show, I like it. So what? Leave me to my ponies, and you enjoy your dull, gray, boring life. Mine is full of Pinkie pie's parties, FLuttershy's cuteness overload, Twilight's smartness, Rainbow Dash's awesomeness, Applejack's awesome accent, and her ability to work very hard, and Rarity's....well, I can't think of anything. AH! Got it! Over-dramatic-ness. The show has changed my outlook on life for the better, and it has made me a better person. I just wish people could see through the stereotypical "Rainbows and Pink = gay for men." and see what this show truly is. Opinions?
  24. I don't need a complicated message or anything. Just a cool "shout out" if you will. Anything you'd like that has my name (Wyatt) or my Canterlot.com username would work. A video would be even better! To anyone else who's going: TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES!
