  1. Not that I nessecarily approve of Hasbro taking down a lot of stuff, but, if I'm honest, them taking down Pony archive made sense, so I wasn't really annoyed about that. I haven't seen this video, so I guess I can't really say whether I think it makes sense or not.

um... *points up* I posted it like 2 above...

  2. There's this phrase that I used to hear growing up as a warning...something to the effect of "beware the man who doesn't like children or dogs".

The point being that...I'm not really sure but the implication was that there was something wrong with him. I've never been clear if I needed to like both or just one to not be creepy.

It has haunted me somewhat since the dog thing totally applies.

Bah, just embrace the dark side! I openly admit to being Chaotic-Evil. ;)

In general I like dogs, but I in general do not like gremlins (kids) because they're just one big ball of screaming, trouble, and expense (from birth all the way till they move out, Proud to say I dont plan to ever have kids)

  3. I am an engineer! What else would I use to analyze the minutia of a cartoon about ponies?

I hereby christen thee 'Spock'! *smacks you on the head with a champagne bottle* hummm... it didnt break, so what was that loud CRACK sound? O_o (lol)

On that note, I just realized that by showing the airship christening, alcohol is now canon...

  4. If I cared about animals at all, and if I liked dogs, and if real dogs looked and acted like Winona, and I wasn't allergic to them, I could imagine thinking about getting a dog.

Huh, I think that is the second closest I have ever gotten to getting a pet.

My experiance is you have a 50/50 chance of getting a real son of a... well... yeah... I had one dog, a German shepherd who was as good as she could be, now I have a Chihuahua who keeps me constantly cleaning up where he marks his territory... though in his defence he's also the most dedicated animal I've ever seen! (though he has a temper...) Still... never again...

  5. I find that quite amusing...but do you think it is because she is trying to make it look cool, or because she doesn't care enough to go to a real stylist?

you know, that's a good question... I really hadn't thought about it... given that she's not really into even the mildest of fashion I'd think the second, but at the same time as obsessed as she is about being cool... I can see either being the case! (I think if I *had* to pick an answer I'd go with the former mainly because it's such a hilarious scene, the "carefree" Dash getting all meticulous and obcessive as she slowly, very slowly cuts tiny amounts at a time to make sure it's *perfect* lol)

Somepony write a fanfic! we need an answer! lol

  6. Actually, I think Rarity gives Rainbow Dash a run for her money...

But yeah, I am much more drawn to the more relaxed and carefree style.

Well... yeah, I guess have to give rarity props for her mane...

My personal opinion is Dash's mane and tail are jagged not from styling but because she cuts them herself

  7. I remember loving Milo and Otis as a kid, and when I saw it for a steal I picked it up recently. I have never met anyone else who could stand to be in the same room as it.

I saw that one! I thought it was adorable, had some sad moments, obviously (there is not one single animal movie without a sad moment where you think one or more animals have died...)

  8. Pretty sure all the McDonalds toys had brushable manes. There is a molded Dash toy for sale though. She's included in this pack, and also the four pack. Not sure if you can find her individually outside of the Blind Bags though.

    -snip-

    O_O THEY MADE SHOW-ACCURATE PONIES!!!

Durn you, Tales, now I'm gonna have to hunt down that set! lol ;)

  9. Disregarding the now-missing synopsis, here's a thought:

Granny Smith is old, maybe she feels she's too old for a "round up" (take it as you will, could be anything from herding to square-dancing) but she wants to try it one last time, so it's her "last" round-up even though she's not dieing, just old (who knows might even involve a temporary rejuvenation spell or something for her so she can have that "one last round-up").

    Just a thought...

  10. Is that not the truth!

At first I thought the selection was just poor due to my location (also true) but after looking online I was surprised that I couldn't find any ponies that look like the ones that I love.

There are a few here and there. I saw a FiM-accurate Dash out of pure molded plastic - no hair-mane-tail at all (I think it was actually a Mc Donalds happymeal toy...) but mostly if you want show-accurate go to ebay or Etsy and get a custom, only real option right now, sadly...

  11. I'm not privy to the numbers, but most indications are that adult fans are a small fraction of product sales. We have money to spend, but we're not huge in numbers (yet).

I do my part, I own official MLP Merch!

Seriously though, My complaint about the sales is that they can make little tweaks that WONT EFFECT their kiddy sales, but will persuade more ponies to buy - namely Show-accurate ponies. No little kid is going to care if the pony's mane and tail are a slightly different color, they wanted them because they're ponies (and if they watched the show and didnt notice the difference, who's to say they'll notice if they're accurate) Whereas most of us DO care and very few of us will pay for misdone ponies. Same with the plushies! (I've given up saying hasbro should make specific "adult merch" like collectible statues or video games, or such, I just want something that matches the show!)

  12. That's a pretty immature message, though I doubt Hasbro care, to be honest.

Hasbro will only care if it's the across-the-board message they're recieving from fans, if they percieve us as "we wany free ponies or else!" then they may decide to terminate the series early or not make a 4th season/4.5 gen series, etc. If this is the "one odd response" then no, they'll just chalk it up to immaturity too. This is why we all need to maintain a unified front and not, as somone else said "bite the hand that feeds us ponies"

  13. there are only 2 anime cons in my area, I was considering going to at least one of them, but that would mean I couldn't wear my Rainbow Dash cosplay I'm working on, so I settled on a furry con (FWA in March, if I have the $$$) and a Fantasy con (Dragon*Con in sept).

  14. Honestly, I could give a soggy snot rag about the difference between DVD and Blu-ray. As long as it's ponies on a screen and I can see it clearly, gimme.

Depending on your PC and TV, you can probably hook it up as a 2nd display. I've watched HD movies on my HD TV without issue in the past...

But I agree, glad to see DVDs being released, hopefully we'll get full seasons instead of 'theme' packs soon!

    @ DashieInTheDark:

BluRay is fine and dandy if you can play it. Only BD player I've had was my PS3 (which I had to sell to pay the bills) and honestly I can think of very few friends of mine that have BD players, so really it's still not as wide of a demographic. Also you *can* do widescreen on a DVD, though I dont know how much more space(MB) it takes so it might not be an option for these... and personally I highly doubt they're going to do it widescreen anyway unless it's a lot cheeper not to convert it.

  15. I find myself drawn to the simplicity of the Rarity one... odd as she's my least-favorite pony (not that I dont like her, she's just TOO dramatic and too Snobby for me)

The first word that popped into my head when I saw the Dash one was "Radical!" lol

I suddenly wish I'd finished learning guitar so many years ago... lol

  16. Obviously, redbubble.com is an excellent place for shirts. They offer free shipping with four purchases, if you're willing to buy a few at the same time. I got four tshirts for about a hundred or so, including this one. (It was a bit more as I am quite a tall chap)

redbubble has a larger selection, but if you want to support MLP, welovefine is the official store.

Also, just ordered my Wonderbolts shirt tonight! woot!
