  1. How is that at all funny?

I enjoy the humor if the message, yes they're angry and yes they were inapropriate, but the wording is humerus, not to mention their prior letter to Hasbro.

I didnt mean it's funny that the site was taken down, I meant their replies were funny.

(keep in mind the replies are PG-13 rated due to language)

  2. Desert survival? Are there trade routes across the sands, oasises, sandworms? Are vast cities hidden beneath the shifting sands? Is there in short, a need for a pony who can navigate his way across the trackless dunes, find water and a three course meal under a rock and a patch of scrub brush, and speak fluent camel and dromedary?

Oh Gawd, sandworms... I wonder if such monsters exist in Equestria... *scribbles notes* Well in MY equestria they do! lol (thanks for the inspiration!)

I like it, I think it's a little expansive, but then again Dunes is sorta one of the main characters, so... (And an explanation for how he got it would be easy - he got lost in the dessert and found out he coudl survive untill he made his way back home!) It also gives him a job, he can be a Guide as well as a food/water scavenger! This is brilliant! THANK YOU!

  3. That...

...bothers me quite a bit even though I disliked that episode. As annoying as it was to see my favorite pony act like a jerk then be made a fool in front of the whole town, it seems disrespectful to snub it.

I've developed a new theory for why the episode was made:

People have long since chided Dash for being too arrogant, but when you have a character who's already ~17ish it's hard to change their basic characterization. I believe this was part of a 2-part arc, starting with May the Best Pet Win, to inflate Dash's ego enough that they could grind her into the ground so hard it made a permanent change to her character. If you notice since then she's been noticably more humble (though certainly she still has some arrogance, it's just not nearly as strong and she doesnt brag as much)

  4. Geeze you sure get around, I've seen you on so many different websites over the years (assuming your the same Webkilla, since your Avatar has never changed)

I might post direct asnwers below, but right now I did want to point out that while Bronies have no centralized leadership, etc, there are 2 main websites, "Equestria Daily" and "Ponychan" these seem to the the larges hub of information and communication (though for some of us the latter is just TOO big) the First is mainly a blog of all things MLP, including art, music, fanfiction, and any official news.

    1) How old are you and on what continent do you live? (europe, north america, australia, africa, south america...)

-26, Male, North America (Georgia, USA)

    2) What does it mean, to you personally, to be a brony?

-Being a part of the fandom. If you just like the show your simply a "fan" if you take part in the community (in whatever way) then you are a Brony

    3) Are you a brony? if so, for how long?

-Yes, to large means! I finally watched the show in Early November (after much proding and forcing, It took a LOT of convincing because of the stigma left from G1-G3 MLP) The first 7 minutes I didnt care one way or another (and almost turned it off at one point) but once I met Rainbow Dash I was hooked, after seeing episode 5(?) "winter Wrap Up" that made me love the series enough to join the community.

    4) How do you personally express being a brony? (through art, roleplaying, give your car rainbow stripes, socializing with other bronies, etz)

-I do some art (hopeing to expand into full animation), a lot of Fanfic (mostly outlines at this point but will be far more) All my devices have pony images as backgrounds (Mainly Rainbow Dash), I'm planning to get a RD plastic figuine to live in my Car among my other plushies there as well as a RD decal for the window (so jelous of the guy who redid his Charger(?) in Rainbow Dash theme, would do it if I had a better car and the $$$), I enjoy socilizing on forums like this one, and I *may* roleplay in the future, but right now all my creativity is going to other sources. I also watch Equestria Daily and listen to the weekly "Bronyville" podcast. On the far extreme I'm also planning a MLP cosplay, hopefully for Dragon*Con.

I just wanted to point out that I used to be deep into the old Sonic the Hedgehog fandom (years ago before all the different plotlines merged, dropped out around the turn of the mellineum) and after I left there was a proverbial hole in my soul that the Bronies have filled beautifully (and to some extent, more so because they're not as judgemental as the old StH fandom was)

    5) Are there any aspects of brony culture/communities/expression that you do not agree with/like? (something you don't like, or dont feel match the way you understand it is to be a brony)

-Not overall, I'm not a fan of the major shipping between the mane 6 in art/fics, but overall nothing I really dont like. (discounting the fact Hasbro wont try to throw us a bone and at least make the toys show-acurate, but that's not the community)

  5. I love reading children-level fiction books, as the plots seem more...creative, if not a bit ridiculous.

I really wish I could remember the Author, one of the best juvenile series I ever read was "My Teacher is an Alien" to this day I still quote the Alien philosophy on humans: "Most (alien races) are so busy rejoicing (at learning they are not alone in the universe) they forget to be afraid, while humans are so afraid they forget to rejoice" (paraphrased) Incredibly deep philosophy for a juvenile book series.

On that note, I sometimes will look at the old Picture Books because some of the artwork is absolutely fantastic (I daresay some is worthy of framing in a few)

  6. If you enjoy games like Rift, Aeon, or WoW, but are tired of the same-old-same-old, this game is a winner.

After reading your review I'm gonna give it a try when I have the $$$

    nonstop clopping for this game.

O_o The graphics are THAT good? I must have missed something, but then I'm not a very big clopper at all and with what you said and what my friend said, I guess some SW geeks would find this clop-worthy... just... really... sounds... wrong...

  7. WOAH WOAH WOAH!

I was NOT trying to derail the topic like this! Nor was I trying to say anything about Hasbro's legalities on the Pony Archive issue (that's covered in it's own thread, I have several posts there)

My only point was that Hasbro is sending mixed messages, I was hoping people would stop to think about it and say "Maybe they're finding their footing, trying to balance the fans and the show/profits"

My only question of Legality comes from if Hasbro has the legal right to take down the videos that the VAs made that had nothing to do with the show (that is, were not written by Hasbro and were never used in the show or any associated promotional material) My personal view is this is no different than any of us on here doing the voice and singing, but with it being the official VA... ???

    @ Weesh:

It wasnt actually a video (atleast what I saw) it had Mando start singing Jingle Bells, then after the first verse the music changed to rock and we hear Scootaloo take over and Mando is protesting "Scootaloo! Stop that! That's not how it goes!" It was ALL in-character as Scootaloo

  8. Thanks for responding!

    @Ashton

While I do believe that'd be good to have a sort of "straight man" character to end up leading the story to them leaving, the idea WAS for them to get homesick, and quickly realize their act can't stick much longer. After all, it wouldn't be too long before the zebra realize Celestia is an allicorn...and Rainbow Dash is noticeably missing a horn...Frankly, having Twilight to make it even in the department of character conflict would work, but I'm not sure whether doing that would be for better or for worse...Still, I'll consider that! Heck, I just realized that with Twilight, it'd shape the main cast to be:

    Rainbow Dash - Pegasus

    Pinkie Pie - Earth pony

    Twilight Sparkle - Unicorn

Which would indeed make a good bit of sense to represent each group of pony. Just for the fun, xD

Also, that little bit of symbolism WAS intentional, actually. In fact, my idea was to have Rainbow Dash and Pinkie deduce this that they may have died, but this could be quickly dashed (No pun intended  ) by some way or another. But yes, this bit of symbolism was intentional, as I've seen many types of films that use that technique of symbolism, and I find it a fun little bit...

You could actually play off the three as "ok, we're stuck here, we have to work together!" Dash takes care of flying, Twilight does magic, and Pinky does... pinky stuff, to keep the Zebra convinced that Dash is celestia.

Also if you want to take the death joke a step further, have everything go southward and Somone deduce "we may have died, but we didnt go to heaven, we went to hell!"

If you want to be cheasy about it, you could always have the real celestia save the day, or just to really screw everyone, have LUNA decide to come visit the zebra!

"Oh Princess Luna, your sister is here as well!"

all the meantime the trio then has to lay low and avoid luna untill they can work out a plan to escape...

  9. Personally, I think you need either AJ or Twilight (or even Spike) there to help ground the group and provide a voice of reason "Your not celestia! your going to get us all in DEEP trouble!" because unless Dash/Pinky get homesick, I have no doubt they would stay there forever. (unless that's the ultimate plan)

Also I want to point out something here that I see as a potential symbolism that I dont think is on purpose. The pair is mugged and thrown into the river, then end up in Paradice.

Translation: The group dies and goes to heaven.

I dont think that is what you intended (though if it is, kudos on slipping it in!) so you might want to reconsider just how you transport them from manehatten to paradice...

Just my inicial thoughts, I'll think about it more later and give you some more in-depth suggestions :)

  10. Is it just me, or is Hasbro sendiing very mixed messages?

    First they acknoledge Bronies

    Next they attack Pony Archive

Then they hire somone specifically to handle "MLP in Pop Culture"

Now they're taking our Scootaloo (If this is the one I'm thinking of (where I want to say it was Mando started singing Jingle bells normally, then Scoot takes over and turns it into a rock ballad), I'm really P.O.d too, it was adorable!)

Like I said... Anyone else seeing mixed messages here?

  11. Lol, everyone wants links! The most recent (dont recall the past ones) was WingMares off Equestria Daily: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/12/story-wingmares.html

If I remember others or can find links I'll post them.

We don't really know his full story, so he might have done much worse things if he wasn't stopped by the Mane Six.

    This.

It swings both ways, we REALLY DONT know anything about discords motives, he could have been an Absolute Monster, or just a Trickster God. He could have gone psycho or continued to just play the jester. Untill more is known about him we really have no way of telling.

Also lets not forget, being a god, he may suffer from Blue and Orange Morality, so it might not really be his fault...

  12. I still have a large (still growing) collection of plushies despite my age.

I still enjoy a lot of old cartoons (especially Disney stuff from my childhood - Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, TailSpin, Gargoyles, DuckTales, even GummiBears!) and even a few new 'kiddy' cartoons (Bounty Hamster and, obviously MLP:FiM) in that same vein I still enjoy a lot of G-rated movies aimed at kids (BOLT being the first to mind)

  13. It would really depend on how the process itself works. Sounds like he can send objects of any size, but I would assume the larger the object, the more practice and effort and it would take. Although I would draw the line at living material (plants, creatures, etc) since it having to be burned, magical fire or not, would probably not survive the trip.

My go-to answer is any living object that is transported in any way except through normal means or a tunnel of some sort, dies. I'm planning to keep that. ;)

Some explanation on the weather thing has been given via canon!

    Hearth's Warming Eve possible spoiler!

In the episode it was explained that ONLY Earth Ponies could grow food, Pegasi control weather, and Unicorns raise the sun/moon. So Pegasi being able to naturally manipulate weather is canon.

It could be said that their ability to manipulate weather has degraded over time, so it does not come easily to them anymore. With proper intense training they could gain back some of the prowess, hence the Wonderbolts forming clouds in their wake, but for mass-production of weather it requires a factory with efforts of many Pegasi.

It has been seen in the series though (I think) unicorns working on farms and growing things. However I'm going to agree on the pegasus Idea because it fits perfectly!

Just curious...but how would Spike not fall through the clouds that comprise everything in Cloudsdale? Only Pegasi have been shown to be able to interact with clouds as though they were solid objects. Twilight's spell was another option but was mentioned as being only temporary.

In Canon, all flying creatures can walk on clouds, magic or no. Gilda the Griffen could do it, and in may the best pet win, all the birds and insects were seen doing it.

(asuming you mean my story) I planted my flag in the ground after Sisterhooves social (that is to say I split my Fanon after that episiode, so any new information may-or-may-not apply such as Tank never appearing), so there was no way of knowing spike wouldn't have wings (and there is still some argument due to his growth in Secret of my Excess being very uneven and irregular because of magic) Thus I treated him as a dragon who's wings simply hadn't grown in, thus he could walk on clouds.
