  1. It's not as elaborate as you may think. After all, treasure hoarders need to get to their treasure again.

Says who?! lol, back on my old server I had 2 treasure rooms, one was hidden, only accessable through a series of 3 well-hidden teleporters, and the other was a severe deathtrap, filled to the brim with lava, 'bottomless' pits, cacti, TNT, you name it! (my old server didnt have locking chests so bizare measures were often needed, an, in fact, I like that idea, even if it is inconvenient)

  2. But some shipping is just plain horrid (anything with either Twi or Fluttershy it seems)!

I've seen a few good FlutterDash shippings, based on their Canon relationship (which appears closer than any of the other ponies) it can be taken romantically and work... but ANY romance is tricky to pull off and I tend to agree, it's VERY hit-or-miss

  3. I've built a hidden Treasure Trove near Spawn.

Oh, and the chests are Unprotected! It contains many goodies; like 24 Gold Blocks, several Diamonds and more. I'll be adding more to it as I go along.

Finding the trove is only 1/4 the battle, if you know what I mean. :shifty:

ooo! you mean you have traps, puzzles, and in short... a dungeon!?! I'm game! Let me grab my stone sword and see how many corpses I can leave in the level! lol

  4. A large brick to the head should shave off enough IQ points that he wont care anymore! (j/k!)

I really want to say that if you explained your feelings and told him the truth, that it would make the difference, that he would accept you and you'd hug and be best friends forever... but unless you find a portal to equestria, that ain't gonna' happen...

Best bet is to watch it on a laptop, sitting against the wall, with headphones on, so that he cant see what it is, and be ready to quickly alt-tab to something else. Depending on how obvious your bronyism is, you might even look at picking your least-favorite episode and making a loud rant about it, claiming it destroyed the series for you and you'll never be able to watch FiM again, then go deep underground with it.

Not the best of options, but somtimes you gotta do whatcha gotta do... Short of moving out I really dont see much options since he obviously isnt going to move out...

  5. It's probably not true, but I can actually very easily see a plot like that working fine.

Well you gotta remember, the ting about evil siblings is they have to be dealt with. It's almost impossible to make them 'not evil' so they have to be killed, put in jail, shot into outer space, etc. There really isnt a clean way the mane 6 can handle it (which is a little disappointing, I love "evil twin" episodes, even more so when "cant get in trouble for nuthin'" is invoked!)

  6. I'm still trying to decide wheather he can send objects this way or not. Obviously if they fit inside the scroll (such as the 2 tickets in "The Ticket Master") but what about larger objects? (for instance, I'm writing a story right now where Spike is trapped in Dash's cloud house (fun story there, if your interested I'll post the outline) and he's trying to tell celestia where he is, so he sends random items to her from RD's house in hopes she puzzles it out (Wonderbolts Poster, Cloudsdale Weather Factory Hat, Cloudaseum Best Young Flier ticket stub --- amusingly these convince clestia that he's in cloudsdale)

  7. *Sighs*

Cartoon Network used to be so good. Same goes for Disney Channel and Nick. Those were the good old days.

Oh geeze, i think I can name maybe half of them from memory (OMG! Huckleberry Hound!) a large number I dont even know... still great pic though, lots of nostalgia there.

    About the Looney Toons show:

And that's all I'm gonna say about that.

HOLY S***!!! When did WB start hiring real animators and real songwriters! I actually saved that! (For anyone wanting to really dig back, that's techncially getting back to their roots - Loony Tunes and it's opposition "Merry Melodies" both began as a sort of music video (back in the days of B+W movies) but they were never this awesome! I might just have to look into the new series if they're all like that... (or was that the one-in-a-million good clip?)

Ahem... back on topic... TV as a whole is falling apart. Everything is going to on-demand and everything else is going to the internet (and soemtimes both!) I seriously think in 10 years or less "TV" as we know it will no longer exist, and we'll all just have a giant super-simle PC hanging in our living room that connects to verious video services like youtube and Netflix.

  8. A friend on another forum had an addition to this idea that I love - with how Applebloom loves to help Zecora, perhaps the filly accidentally mixed up the potions, which would explain why Dash got the wrong one (and would add another level to the story where AB would have to decide whether to come clean and admit she made a mistake, or let it slide and allow Zecora to think that SHE messed up (of course AB would make the right decision in the end, but it would be interesting to watch her squirm and worry that if she admitted it, Zecora would never let her help again!)

  9. hi hi

There was no heart of gold underneath Discord's evil exterior. He was literally a spirit of Chaos. He enjoyed destroying friendships and bringing misery to ponies... Discord ships confound me something awful.

Meh, So many villians have a hard exterior and a soft nugat inside, Discord we really dont know. In my opinion he could go either way (though hoenstly, I agree - that's how I always play him off in my stories, completely insane with a dash of evil, but he's never killed anyone for better or for worse...)

  10. I haven't had time to play lately, but there's a question I'd like to ask.

Are there any rules regaing where you can set up mines? I'm going to need to start mining for materials sooner or later, and I don't want to break into someone else's mine by accident. Is there some sort of ettiquette or minimum distance I need to observe?

I cant speak for anypony else, but my rule is to find the farthest-out area that's in use, then walk a full day/night cycle from there. If you want to be insane, I walked THREE cycles once to make sure I wasnt in anyone's way.

I decided to play proper. I have a hole! It's a lovely hole... or was... the front side is now missing from creepers... and why are there so few trees?

I swear this game wasnt as hard in Beta... *bought waaaaaay back in Alpha*

  11. This was posted in another of my threads and I'm cross-posting it here:

All the Wonderbolts seem to have a stream of a color similar-ish to their mane from time to time when they fly fast, and we don't even know if they produce that, so you'd have to rule out the usage of some kind of devise embedded in their costumes that emits a smoke or vapor trail refracting the colors of her tail.

My PERSONAL take on this is that all pegasai can create clouds, however it takes so much effort that for large storms and such, it's better to mass-produce them instead of making the individual teams create them. But, seeing as outside of the wonderbolt's we've never seen a Pegasus create a cloud, I'm relegating it to fanon...

    @ Strife:

Innate (Unique) - Abilities gained from birth, but unique to the individual. Examples:
    • Rarity's gem-finding spell
    • Spike's transportation breath (on scrolls)

These are interesting points because (1) Twilight was able to copy rarity's spell, which makes me wonder if all unicorns can perform magic if they learn how (or alternately if mage unicorns can copy any other unicorn's magic if they choose) and (2) We dont know that Spike can ONLY transport scrolls. Logically speaking, scrolls are simply paper, and so if paper is transported, Twilight's book (in Owls Well that Ends Well) should have been transported too. I'm thinking there is some kind of spell that spike uses (possibly as simple as wishing to transport the scroll) that sends them. However, if this were the case, then all the scrolls in "Griffen the brushoff" that he burned when he got the hiccups should have just been incinerated... Alternately, the scrolls all bear a seal on them that could be enchanted to transport whatever it's attached to directly to celestia when it's burned. Which then begs the question of what happens if the seal is attached to something else...

  12. Wow, I'm not a fan of Plasmas (VERY bad for getting burn-in, and I tend to leave my TV/Monitors paused a lot) but major props on fixing it!

And yes, if you *know* whats wrong and can fix it on the cheep, you can make a huge profit off ebay buying broken ones for ~$100-$200, repairing them, and then reselling then @ $400 or so.

  13. I'll never understand bronys need for making sure everyone knows they like MLP.

I dont think it's "all my friends must like MLP" but more "I cant hide that I like it" and "It's an awesome show, I'll share it to spread the awesome around" Some bronies are simply not as good as hiding it as others (for instance, anyone that looks at any of my devices will see an MLP wallpaper)

Also, if people know you like it, they might admit they like it too, and then you'll have somone else to discuss it with. It's no different to saying you like WoW/Skyrim/Zelda, or Fantasy books, or Anime, or Pizza. It's just that you are sharing your interests in hopes they overlap with the interests of your friends.

  14. My best-friend is fanatical about this game, so I'll probably give it a go when it comes out, but I'm not a huge SW nerd (honestly more into StarTrek and was severely dissapointed at the ST MMO...) Depends on costs as to when I get on though, I'm kinda low on $$$ and planning some pony purchases when I do get some disposable income... *is hopeing desperately for a good Sci-Fi MMO*

  15. I'm currently serverless, as my last server decided to go private with Facebook and to this day I refuse to use facebook... (but daaaaaaang was it awesome, if non-pony, anypony interested I'll see if I can dig up the map, these guys were history majors and built things like castle TO SCALE and (as much as possible) HISTORICALLY ACCURATE!)

I think I'll hop on and atleast look around, I have a bit of a policy of not joining servers that dont use Runecraft because I've become overly-reliant on it's magics, but I wanna see what the server's like! (Any chance you have or will build a Cloudsdale?)

Keep an eye open for a tiger blundering about ;) lol dont have an OC Pony skin yet, so...

  16. I'm a little late but just wanted to point something out...

Now I dont know Canterlot's stance on the matter, but legally, an artist *can* offer their work up for free and you can alter it in whatever way you so desire. It depends on how the artist sets up their rights and some just dont care (I've got a few bookmarked that made some nice prop vectors and say that anyone can use their work for anything)

As I said, that's the LEGAL stance, canterlot may have a "only 100% original art" stance as site policy.

  17. I'm just going to go out on a limb and say it would be close to impossible for us to decrypt it without the use of a Rosetta stone like tool. So far though half of it matches letter to letter but changes halfway through making it seem strange as it doesn't follow any repetition in sounds but then again I'm not that very good at languages nor code breaking. But anyway goodluck in your code breaking quest

I think it's just overly complicated. I remember a similar issue years ago with the "alien" language in Futurama, but eventually it was cracked.

Of course this being FiM, it could go either way, could be a "genius bonus" for adults watching, or a "random characters" for kids watching... I'd like to think it's the former though and once it's cracked we'll go back through and find all kinds of hidden jokes in signs, newspapers, etc.

  18. *Dash voice* OhMyGosh!OhMyGosh!OhMyGosh! I got feedback! I got Feedback! Strife, you are now best Brony! ;)

er... yes *clears throut* back on topic...

I like the idea of it being an accident with a potion Zecora brewed, perhaps Dash was going to pick up something for twilight (or even herself, I made a plot comment in one of my stories about Dash secretly visiting Zecora for a potion/salve for her wings when she pushes herself way too hard and strains them) and for some reason accidentally drinks a rejuvenation potion intended for an older pony/animal... which would also explain why there is no immediately-available counter-spell!

Thank you, I think I'm going to use this idea, it sets up a much more complex intro than I had planned! :D

  19. I saw a reference on ED not long ago about and old MLP game that I think is/was on the official site called "Castle Builder" (which is where the "rarity-improved Luna" design was found, burried in the game's Assets) I believe this is what the OP is talking about. If so, it's either on the official site or, if it's been taken down, you might find a working version in the Internet Archive if you roll back in time far enough (no idea when/if it was taken down, sorry)

  20. You do have a point, especially since they're hiring a new market manager that understands it's "relevance in pop culture" or something along those lines. I'd still say there are more kids watching it, though. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure there are only a few thousand Bronies (I say only) while I'm sure there are countless little kids that'll watch it.

Honestly, I'm not sure what the ratio would be due to it only being shown on a high-tier cable channel or over the internet which most 'kids' don't really encounter in full until their teenage years (which is beyond most of MLP's target demographic) Now, when/if the show is syndicated, I think that will change radically, but right now I'd venture to say there are probably a lot more adults watching than expected and a lot fewer kids watching than expected due to the available outlets.

As I said in another thread: Most of the greatest inventions were mistakes, not people aiming to achieve something. I'm not asking Hasbro to go whole-hog on brony products, just something to show they recognize us, with a little more filtering out over time. (heck start with making show-accurate toys and plushies, that alone would increase their revenue and garner good faith without any real "risk")
