It works rather well. I'm able to relax and be intellectual on this account. Despite loving being energetic, friendly, and random, which I usually am, people also expect that of me constantly on Pinkie. Which isn't necessarily bad, just tiring on days like this.

Wasting is your opinion I'm afraid you won't find me celebrating mediocrity. I will encourage others to do better, yes, even praise them. However, if I were to present my likes every time I moderately approved of something, I could very well be promoting laziness in the fact that they would have nothing to strive for. What more could I offer them if they did better? Another like? They've already gotten one with less effort. These are my thoughts on the matter.

Mmm. I've given approximately 5-6 likes total in my time here. I'm of the opinion that a like symbolizes greatness in whatever the target of said like has endeavored, not something to be thrown carelessly. As you've said, there is a limit, which reinforces my belief. Thus a like from me should let you know that I truly think highly of you and the post/artwork upon which I've deigned to place my mark. I'm afraid I cannot apply this definition to the like I just gave you, however, Fawkes. That was a gift. In short, if you get a like from me I mean it whole-heartedly.
