  1. I'm working on a project I plan to keep quiet about until I'm almost done with it. I've been asking my friends what they thought of things I've done in the project so far, unfortunately I don't feel they're giving me very good feedback. I'm pretty much just looking for a single person I can get an honest opinion from as I work on the project and that can keep quiet about it until necessary. I apologize for being so secretive, but I don't want to draw much attention to this project until I plan to release it.

I live in the USA in central time, and I'm usually available at night, but I check my emails as soon as I receive them.I need to be able to contact you, so if you check your emails frequently or regularly get on skype then I'd like to get in contact with you. PM me if you're interested in helping.

  2. Ok, so i just made a MLP remake of Phillistine from No More Heroes 2 named - of course- Pinkie Pie.

I have the lyrics and everything ready, i just need someone to sing it for me so i can post it and see what happens from there.

(No More Heroes fun fact: Tara Strong voiced 2 characters in the sequel to no more heroes, Margaret Moonlight and Cloe Walsh and also sung Phillistine, the song i remade just now, and voices Juliet Starling in lollipop chainsaw, the new game that just came out!)

If you need the lyrics to the song let me know and ill post them here so you can try them out

    Thanks!

    -Mist

Well, I can sing but im a dude. Not sure if you need one of those.

  3. Sure I wouldn't mind some music for the game, it's currently one thing I cannot really make myself. Working with only the ones provided by rpg maker vx, it both does not sound very unique or pony-like. I'm hoping somehow to figure out a way to get little sound bites of phrases they say on the show, just nabbed directly from episodes to use in certain situations. "during attacks and some conversation"

I don't want to create any actual pressure though, in case the whole thing falls apart. If you are making them for yourself, for fun, or to use elsewhere. *like you did with those other two* And then allow me to use some in the game, then that would be fine.

I like the two you linked though, they have sort of a unique "snes" sound to them and it's good. Is that what a chip-tune is? I've never heard the actual term before. I will say that a lot of my favorite rpg games were on the super nintendo, it was a great era for games. So since this game does look a lot like one that type of music fits well.

Don't worry I make them rather fast, If you have a scenario or a screenshot for each area I can make them with no sweat.

Looking good! I am liking how its coming along!

A chip-tune is where you make music using the sound chip from a game or other device. At least, I think that is the correct definition.

Edit: I also loved SNES RPG's as well!

Chiptune is a general name for any type of music with a retro gaming sound, within that name there are a bunch of sub-genre's:

    8-bit music,

    Amigacore,

    Bitpop,

    Chipbreak or Chipcore,

    Chip Metal or Bleep Metal,

Chipstyle (both songs in my link),

    Gameboy music, and

    Nerdcore (that one sounds funny)

Those are just a few of the names Woolyss.com list off.

the main differences are the whether the song is made through a vst simulating an old sound card, if it actually made with a game console (they totally gut it and do a bunch of fancy routing)

Chipstyle sounds like chiptune but has modern aspects (drum samples, effects, and so on)

  4. Hey guys, it's about time for an update on this.

-At the moment I have enough Writers compared to the rest of the group.

I will look for writers at a later date.

    -I'm still taking VAs.

I have enough VAs for now, but you won't be put in a permanent position unless you can do impressions of cannon characters.

    -Concept artists.

I need people who can draw backgrounds, monsters, and anything else that comes up.

    This is a permanent position.

    -Vector artists.

I need people who actually have some experience with vectoring (not professional, just know how to draw a pony)

I would also rather use people with Adobe products for compatibility reasons. (nothing against Inkscape and Gimp users, I just don't think they're compatible)

    This is a permanent position.

    -Storyboard artists.

I need you, as long as you know how to do it you're in. (You don't have to be perfect with drawing ponies)

    This is a permanent position.

    -Animators.

I need people with experience in animation, if you don't know how to use models or tween then you need to take lessons first. We're trying to make this look as close to the show as possible, meaning we're going to use the same methods that everyone else is using.

If you do "effects" you will be a good asset to the team, I expect these to be Frame by frames but if you have a better method that's also accepted.

I operate CS5.5 It'd be best if you had that however we can convert to Legend formats if necessary, but that tends to be annoying.

    This is a permanent position.

    -Musicians.

I am no longer taking permanent positions for musicians, when you are needed I will post for help.

-Sound engineers. (editing vocals, making sounds of your own, and other related works)

This is a permanent position, If you specialize in something, please let me know.

    -Video editors.

I'm looking for permanent video editors, just keep in mind that this is a position that will be waiting... a lot...

    -Management.

If you aren't able to help in the previous fields, I could use some help taming this beast. (keeping records, making spreadsheets, managing group chats, nothing hard.)

This will be a permanent position for obvious reasons

    Other stuff

    _______________________________________________________

My goals and requirements remain the same.

If you want any position from this point, I need proof that you know what you're doing. (in other words, I want at least one sample of your work. If there's no sample I probably won't even finish reading it)

when you send applications for the group please use the following format:

    -Real Name

-What you'd like to be called

-Position you want (the main one you want to focus on)

    -Specialties in that field

    -Sample

-Notes (if you have another position that you can fill)

This will avoid confusion and help me respond faster, jumbled up messages with links everywhere make me want to skip it.

  5. This sounds like the start of a good deal. I have a project of my own that I've been thinking of forming a similar production group for, but of course that's a different matter that sounds rather incompatible with yours.

Still, I suppose it's good to start somewhere. Since you have all the writers you need, maybe I could join as an artist of some sort?

Of course! We could use as many artists as possible right now.

  6. I vectored a background for a scene in a Flash animation that my group plans to release soon.

I could use some feedback on it, I think it's missing something...

it's mainly going to be focusing in the middle (zoomed in) and pan up to the moon.

  7. Skype saves messages for those in the group. You'll only be able to read scrollback if you're using the same device each time (or read whatever you received on that device), and those added won't be able to read anything that has been previously posted. Still, pretty effective.

Thanks, Tales. Skype still amazes me X)

  8. So guys, I'm putting together a spreadsheet for you guyzez available times, It looks like there's going to have to be 2 meetings just because there are people from 2 sides of the earth. whenever we do this (still gathering info right now) I'll be present to both meetings, and I'll make sure to cover everything in the other meeting as well. if things feel too cut off I'll either email or find another alternative (I think "groups" on skype keeps every message so everyone will be able to see it even people we add later so it'll probably do fine.)

  9. Hello everyone, over the past few months I've been working on a game, however, I've come across a bit of a problem recently as I am now in need of some music for it, and I suck at composing my own.

So as you may have guessed be the title alone, I'm looking for someone who is good with making MIDI music files for it.

The games an RPG, so just to give you an idea, I'll need themes for:

    - Ponyville

    - Canterlot

    - The Train

    - A Frozen Wasteland

    - A Frozen Castle

    - Normal Battles

    - Mini Boss Battles

    - Boss Battles

I should note I'm looking for high quality original tracks, stuff that could be compared to the SNES or Genesis for example. Also they will need this feel of desperation in a bitter winter overtone to them. Oh yeah, I'm also going to need at least 50 different songs, so I may recruit multiple people for this.

If you think you can help, please post below or send me a message.

Also, if you think you may know where I can find MIDI artists willing to do the job, please let me know.

I won't be able to pay anyone for their help, but I will make sure whoever gets involved is credited.

All help will be greatly appreciated.

I can help, but I have a project of my own.

If you get me some screenshots of the areas you descibed I'll do some work on them.

also, I assume you mean 8-bit (or similar) not just anything that falls under chiptunes?

  10. Psh, I would love to join as a musician, however, I assume you're looking for someone who knows how to do all that fancy stuff on the computer, and not just play the saxaphone or clarinet...

Qualifications, while I don't have any recent stuff on the webs at the moment, I'm section leader at my school for both instruments, and have had a great deal experience with improv.

I wish I could play an awesome instrument like the Sax...

however I would need more of a full orchestra sound than one instrument, however I'll make a note on you, something might open up that we'd need someone with your talents :)

  11. I hate to say this guys, but I can't accept anymore writers right now, the group's at a 1:3 ratio (one out of every 3 people is a writer)

Right now we need vector artists, concept artists, and animators other than me(I don't want to be the only one doing ponies).

Also, I could use someone to help with organization, once we get started officially I won't have very much time outside of animating and working.

Those of you who don't think you can help right now, don't worry, we're going to need people with free time (literally the only thing you'll need).

I'll have more info on this later, probably this summer.

  12. I sent you an e-mail for voice acting, Danny.

    This sounds like fun. :D

I sent you an email about writing/voice acting.

sorry guys, I didn't get either of your emails...

check that you're sending it to dannymirage13@gmail.com

If you did send it to that address try my alternate: daniel101393@yahoo.com

I don't know why, I haven't been getting personal emails, I'll look into it.

Nevermind, Google put it under "spam" I'll respond to your emails asap
