  1. Hah. I'll have to show him this. Don't worry, he's just been busy.
  2. No it just makes you awesome because you do it all by hand. XD  Which unlike me, who has a horrible time doing background elements without a little help now and then.
  3. My Little Brushy set Found these on DA. I love looking through all the brush packs. And this is an amazing set for doing backgrounds. It's got trees, rocks, a house, some sky stuff, bushes, flowers, fences, and some shapes for making free formed plants. All made from high quality show vectors. Just wanted to share!
  4. Of course Grim had been excited to hear his cousin sing. Then again he was excited every time he hear his favorite story. And it seemed the rest of the class had enjoyed it too. That made him happy. He never would have asked her to share this back home. He really didn't feel like he fit with the foals his age back home. It was one of the reasons he kept so much to himself. But here, they all though it was interesting. "Oh thanks," Willow Wisp actually blushed a little with the applause from the class. "Well if you all like stories, you can always come by and I'll tell. I know some spookier ones too for you brave little fillies and colts. And I have some travels and personal experiences that are pretty neat too." That said she walked with Grim as he headed out with the rest of the class. She was going to leave but her cousin looked up with her wearing a hopeful smile. So she decided she would sit next to him and watch the rest of the show and tell. "Wow these look great," Grim was looking over the treats Purple Haze had brought. "Did you really make them all? Everything looks good... I don't know what to eat."
  5. Thinking too much about it? Maybe. But Willow Wisp just didn't know how to dance. And the steps the other ponies in the room were doing seemed like they had an order. Of course maybe Braeburn was on to something. Both he and Fizzy were still standing while she was on the floor. She could hear the snickers and blushed, looking down slightly. Even with Fizzy standing up for her, she knew she had just made a fool of herself. It was probably very clear now that she was just some regular pony who happened to get a ticket, nothing like the high society around them. Taking Braeburn's hoof she pulled herself up and then shook herself off. The blush from embarrassment of her fall deepened at his works. 'Graceful as a wisp'... well she had been able to dodge and weave through them, that is, until one got her in the side. Maybe... maybe if she closed her eyes and just imagined avoiding those little spirit fires flying at her in all ways she could seem like she knew what she was doing. "I'm not so sure if I'm graceful... maybe just good at running." She laughed nervously and then closed her eyes. 'Okay Wisp, just listen to the music and dodge those little flames.' The image in her mind was little wisps of spirit fire flying in at her from all sides. And she was side stepping, spinning and twisting so they zipped by her. Which surprisingly out on the dance floor translated to a bit of a dance. She was doing those same steps, moving in time with the music, and this time not ending up in a heap on the floor.
  6. Fluttershy was rather interested in the bird in Big Macintosh's mane. It clearly looked as if it was making a nest. But before she could really suggest anything a voice she never thought she'd hear again picked up. Her eyes darted over to Gilda and she instantly wanted to run, but at the same time that would be rude. If she was there trying to have a second chance with the animals, then she needed to give Gilda a second chance too. Besides the Gilda looked a bit nervous as compared to when they first crossed paths. "Oh hello Gilda... how... how have you been?" She glanced down to the ground and nervously kicked at the ground. "Uh... I'm not sure about Hawks... but there are Buzzards that really buzz... well... when they're not hiding. The animals around here a pretty um... skiddish." Okay, at least she said hello. She didn't want to seem snooty or judgmental. But now she needed to help Big Mac. "And um, I think that Meadowlark is nesting." She moved closer and waved a hoof toward the bird. "Come on now, Big Macintosh is very nice... but you can't nest in his mane. He will have to eventually leave and I don't think the Princess would be happy if you were in his hair. She might miss you."
  7. Lol that would be my prototype Shuppet plush. He needs a lot of work. XD B)
  8. Just follow the lead. She could do that right? Wisp was quick to glance around the dance floor once they finally made their way on to it. Braeburn took right to dancing with them, and Fizzy seemed to be doing okay, so she had to do her best not to just trip over her hooves. The music was so slow though and she wasn't even sure how ballroom dancing went. 'Let's see those two over there are kind of stepping like that.' She eyed a couple ponies off to the side as she at first just slowly bobbed to the music. 'And Braeburn and Fizzy are kind of doing something like this...' Watching the steps she did her best to imitate them. Dancing though, at least ballroom dancing was not going to be one of the Unicorn's talents. At first things seemed to be going fine. Willow Wisp was able to sway along with the music and at least look as if she may know what she was doing. But as soon as she tried to work in the footwork that went with it, it all fell apart. She stumbled as she tripped on her own feet first. And then she bumped into Braeburn stamping on one of his front hooves. "Oh ! Sorry! Uh..." She managed to get out before getting her feet tangled with themselves and just ending up on the floor, all for legs splayed out. She was sure somepony would see, and in a fancy place like the Gala, surely they would gossip and laugh. Wisp just sighed. "Oops.."
  9. Now she had to admit, it was quite the show of strength watching him smash the apples into juice. After all it had been a pretty big bag he'd dumped into the masher. And he didn't seem to have any trouble with it. Wisp probably would have seemed more impressed though if her head wasn't spinning. "Wow," she blinked slowly. "That looks like it takes a lot of muscle. Then again with all the work you do on the farm here, I'm not surprised that you're strong." There was hardly any enthusiasm in her tone though. In her mind it sounded much more excited and impressed. But what came out was just a flat and tired tone with no emotion in it at all. "Thanks for the juice, it looks really good." And it was. The cool drink seemed to easy the heat she was feeling in her face, even if just a tiny bit. There was just something about homemade products that always tasted ten times as good as something bought from a market that had been shelved for awhile. "Ah, this is nice," she smiled weakly. "Now... apples... well... I do tend to like tart things. Granny Smith apples are pretty good." She looked up for a moment and stared off in a daze for a bit. "Shoot it must be windy... look at those clouds dart around." Of course there were only a couple clouds in the sky and there was barely a breeze. Wisp was merely seeing doubles.
  10. (hope you don't mind me popping in) As she often spent her days, Fluttershy was in the park. She loved being out with all the flowers and plants, not to mention the birds and animals. It was just always so peaceful. Plus she could watch other ponies, such as foals playing. Perhaps it was her shy nature, but she liked to pony-watch. She felt there was a lot to learn just from seeing what others did. She was trotting along, just taking in the scenery when she heard a couple of familiar voices. One was clearly Rainbow Dash, and that meant that the other, younger sounding voice, was probably Scootaloo. The little orange filly was always ready to hang out with her idol. Secretly Fluttershy had to wonder if anypony really looked up to her like that. Then again, she didn't really put herself out there to attract attention either. "Oh, hello," she smiled softly as she followed the voices to find where the two were at. "Are you giving flying lessons Rainbow? That's so very nice of you." As always her quiet demeanor was a complete opposite of her Pegasus companion.
  11. I really think her design is cute. I love the little bat wings. <3
  12. Just a note, you may want to go back through your app because half the time you have one name for him, and the other times, a different one.
  13. Grim's eyes lit up when he was give the go ahead and quickly bounded to the front of the class. It wasn't like him to show so much energy but this was something special he wanted to share. "Um, okay, well first this is my cousin, Willow Wisp. I'm living with her right now." He nodded to the black Unicorn as she moved up to the front and stood by him. "She's always been the one to look out for me when mom and dad were busy. And she's the best story-teller I've ever heard! Especially for ghost stories." Wisp gave a sheepish smile and cut in, "Ah but I know when to reign it in so as not to scare a younger group." Grim nodded and started up again. "And this," he reached into his bag and pulled out a book. "This is my favorite story she tells me. She made it up and I use to have her tell it every time she was watching me before I went to bed. But one summer she was going to be with her dad on a trip to Canterlot while he gave some lectures at the Academy there. Which is a big honor since he's an Earth Pony, but he's really smart! I was sad though because Wisp was going to be gone all summer long. So the day she left she surprised me with this book. She asked the local book shop owner to help her make it and that way I could read it whenever I felt lonely. I keep this book under my pillow when I'm feelings down." He glanced up to Wisp with a big smile. "And that's why I brought her with me too! I want you to hear my favorite story the way she tells it... because it's not just story, but a song!" And without any warning he set the book back in his bag then hurried around the classroom to close the blinds. "And to make it all the more fitting, it needs to be dark." Sure enough when the light in the classroom was out, Willow Wisp began to glow with her ghostly blue hue and her red eyes. But she smiled, a bit embarrassingly, trying to not scare the foals. "Yes, this is what happens when I'm in the dark. It's a part of my magic I think, but I've never been able to make it turn off." Grim hurried back over to her and sat down next to her. "So, you'll sing us the song right?" "Of course," she nodded. Wisp never considered herself much of a singer, she wasn't bad at it, but it was just a hobby when telling her cousin his favorite tales. She started out by humming a swing style tune. "When the moon is full on darkest nights the shadows give you and awful fright your heart starts beating like a drum and that's how you know he's come it keeps a rhythm, it's in the swing so don't try to fight it, it'll be alright He's the boogie woogie man, who goes bump in the night. Your hooves start tappin' you wanna start clappin' The music chills you to you soul He strolls the streets with his monstery beat While the creepy and the crawly follow The moon is like his disco ball The stars his party lights Cause he's the boogie woogie man who goes bump in the night. You can try to hide you can try to run but the beat will always find you So jump in line You'll be just fine you got the ghosts and witches keeping time! So if you hear a spooky tune ring out in the night there's no need to cower or take flight Just throw out your dancin' shoes head out into the street soak up that rhythm and feel the beat. When the morning sun begins to rise the party will be done. The ghosts and ghouls take their leave after a night of chilling fun. You may look around to see him but he'll alright be out of sight just remember when he comes a swinging He's the boogie woogie... the crazy and cooky Boogie...Woogie... Man! That goes bump in the night!" As she finished the song she smiled and looked back down to her cousin. He had a big smile on his face. It was something she knew he hardly showed in public. "And that's my show and tell!" Grim looked out to the rest of the class. "My favorite story and my favorite pony, my awesome cousin!"
  14. I think you should take out the drink from Discworld. It's not cannon to MLP which makes it seem like you're attempting to crossover the two. Also as of now the app reads a lot like a list. It's still rather vague when it comes to details. Example, you say he managed to stop a burglary. How? And at what age is this? Because you currently have him listed at a colt which is like a teenager, and a doubt he was able to stop a robbery as a child. As for names, try using some descriptive words to make a pony like name. In the show the characters' names relate to their talents and who they are. Something like Silver Blade would be more fitting that what you have right now which appears to just be a made up word.
  15. Willow Wisp was glad Fizzy didn't want a further description of her "in the dark" talent. It was just kind of hard to explain and she'd done it many times through out her life and probably would be until she died. So anytime she could avoid the story and the questions that usually followed she did. However her mind went reeling as Braeburn talked about how he ended up with a ticket. So a couple tickets were sent to Appleloosa... and he got one because the Sheriff couldn't go. But... she hadn't seen any other ponies that seemed like they had come from the settlement out in the desert. So, who got the other tickets sent? Did they just not use them? No, not many ponies would pass up a ticket to gala. Her thoughts traveled back to the comment of secret admirers. Was it really possible? Could her ticket have come from Braeburn? Surely that was just too far fetched but now she had to wonder. But he did seemed surprised she was even there. Unless it was all an act. Right? Wisp snapped out of her thoughts when the stallion mentioned dancing. "Oh well, I'm not surprised nopony has asked me to dance. I mean I've just been keeping this corner here company and all." she gave a sheepish smile, sure she probably had been a little dazed looking while she was thinking. "But I guess we could all head out there together. Nopony ever said dancing had to be done in only pairs." Of course mentally she was little worried. She didn't really know how to dance. But at least with the three of them, it wouldn't be a slow dance like a couple would do. That meant she was less likely to trample someponies' hooves. "Lead the way, Sir," she added that mostly in jest since the event was formal.
  16. I've done a few things in the past...here are a couple I have pictures of.
  17. That's right, Twilight isn't the only plush for G4 anymore. I just found this today at Toys'R'Us while looking for some of the new toys that supposedly came out in May. But instead I found this little gem... and to my knowledge Twilight was the only plush for G4 out there. Even if Pinkie isn't one of my top ponies, Flank bought her for me, and she now sits proudly on my bed. I'm gonna analyze her to try and make a pattern for custom plushes. Oh yes, some proof:
  18. 'Thank you Bluebelle.' First things first, Wisp was quick to drink the water the mule got for her. It felt so refreshing and sure enough as she drank, her withered limb began to return to normal. She could even feel it again as it had started to go numb. However that had a draw back as Braeburn treated the area with the ointment. But at least the pain was a sign she was going to be okay. 'Eep...' she let out one little squeal as the last of the ointment was applied before he moved to bandaging her flank. Of course the blush was still on her cheeks. It was just an all around awkward spot for him to be touching, even if it was for her own health. But she found some comfort in knowing that he was probably just as embarrassed by it as well. Surely it would be part of a story they could all laugh about sometime down the road. With her leg bandaged and no longer withered, she sat up and drew a long sigh. The strange pony who owned the cart and brought it to a stop and was now asking questions. One specifically aimed at her. 'It... it just happens. When I'm in the dark, this glow appears. Ever since I was just a newborn foal. It's how I got my name.' Wisp really felt uncomfortable with it. She was pretty good at hiding that fact but she did often worry about scaring others with it because she had no way to stop it. 'I can't make it... turn off... unless I go into a well lit area.' Since Braeburn had offered her name she didn't repeat it. Instead she just looked out over the edge of the cart toward the direction they had come from. 'And we were out here because I wanted to investigate a local story from Braburn's town. About a missing train and it's engineers... I asked him to be my guide into the pass here at night. That's just what I do. I study these types of things and collect the facts so I can someday make a book about what is real and what isn't.' Her attention snapped back to Braeburn when he asked the Doctor to take everypony else back to town so he could find a way to protect Appleloosa from the threat. 'You can't go after those things alone!' She turned to face him with a stern look. 'What they did to me... and just those little wads of gauze.. that's not normal for Spirit Fire. And the way they swarmed, they must be protecting something. I have a feeling I know what it is too.' She wasn't about to let the stallion run off without any knowledge of these supernatural things. 'I will be going with you. I know more about this kind of thing than you do. And if you were to go alone, you could end up missing just like that train.' Willow Wisp wasn't going to take 'no' for an answer. And just to confirm her determination she added a cryptic message. 'If my thinking is right... what we're dealing with is one power Spirit Lantern.'
  19. "Yes, I did learn... it was just so upsetting at the time... it's not like me to act like that at all." Fluttershy first addressed Inkwell about her story. She was happy to hear he had patched things up with Rarity is as well. But her attention was drawn to Big Macintosh for a moment when Inkwell asked if she knew the larger stallion. "Huh?" She didn't say anything to Applejack's brother though because Bramble seemed to recognize her from her short stint as a model. She didn't really think many ponies still remembered that. Fashion always seemed to be changing, as she had heard from Rarity. Surely there was a new face taking over the fashion scene and she was fading from it. "Oh yes, I was. But I'm happy to be done with that. I never really wanted to do it from the start." She looked down shyly. "It is nice to meet you Bramble, and um... just a moment," finally she looked past her current company to call out to the red stallion. "Oh, Big Macintosh... are you lost? Applejack said you were going to be here... and um... you have a Meadowlark in your mane..."
  20. You need to understand that when you first applied Ashi was in charge of the forums. We waited for her to let us know if monster characters were okay and in the end never heard. Now that the board is being run by someone else, the staff has decided that monster characters are non-playable. It's nothing to take personal, the same would have applied to anyone else.
  21. "Afraid of the dark?" Wisp had to laugh at that. "No I'm more afraid of scaring others. I have this... thing... that happens when I'm out in the dark. And I don't want to cause a scene." It wasn't the most descriptive explanation of her "talent" but it was something Willow Wisp was a bit insecure about it. However her mind was drawn away from that when she heard the familiar voice. Of all the places she never thought she'd see Braeburn at the Gala. It was nice to see a pony she knew since so far she'd been looking at nothing but strangers. However it brought up what Fizzy joked about just before he walked up. Secret admirers. What if... could it have been him that sent her the ticket? Hoping she would be there? No... she shook off that thought. It must have just been a coincidence that he somehow got invited as well. She didn't really notice that her wandering thoughts made her blush though. And that blush only deepened with his compliments. "Oh Braeburn, I didn't think I'd see you here. And... thank you," she really didn't know what to say. Like a spring night? She could just feel her cheeks burning now and she instantly looked to floor to try and hide it. "You look rather nice yourself. Like a cowpony ready for a night on the town." She glanced to Fizzy as she spoke up and introduced herself. "Ah yeah, I just met Fizzy. We've just been talking about the gala in general. And how much there is to see."
  22. WillowWisp

    More!

I want to see some more Big Mac and some more Braeburn. XD
  23. We've talked about the sub-species and this is what we came up with. Rather than making them a whole different type of character, we're going to still have him fall under Hippocamp. However you can classify him as Omnivore Hippocamp, where as others may be Herbivore Hippocamps. Kind of in the sense that "ponies" is a term that encompasses Unicorn, Pegasus and Earth Pony. We'd also like you to change that the rest of his kind are omnivores that prefer eating meat. This is so that your OC can handle eating some vegetation, as if you were a carnivore, you really couldn't. Plus, carnivores in the Equestria world come off as monsters. Even in the case of griffins, they aren't just straight meat eaters. However your character can still be different by trying to eat more vegetation than average. An example was having him eat sushi rolls. This way he may be able to "blend in" and seem more friendly if he's eating something prepared rather than just munching on a trout. Keep in mind since he is pony looking he will probably be ostracized for eating meat when around other pony folk. Since he is more pony like than a griffin for example, seeing him eat meat will be more off putting. Once you incorporate these changes you will be approved. :3
  24. Outside? But but... Grimmy frowned. That would ruin part of his show and tell. How was he suppose to set the scene when they were going to be outside in the bright sun?! He looked as all the other ponies started to head out and he had to do something. Maybe they could be the last to go? But it sounded like the teacher had the whole lesson planned for outside now. So maybe he'd just have to go first. "Wait!" He hopped up and waved his right front hoof. "Ms. Cheerilee? Can I do my show and tell in here? I need a place that is dark." Willow Wisp shook her head. "Grimmy, we can still share you item without being in the dark. It's okay." Honestly she wanted to avoid that. Being outside gave her a good out. She knew he cousin wanted everypony to see her strange appearance in the dark, but it was something she was rather uncomfortable with. It might scare the foals and she didn't want that. "But it won't be the same, Wisp." He frowned, sticking his bottom lip out in pout. "I want everypony to experience the whole thing like I do. That's what makes it special." Sighing she reached out and ruffled his mane. "I know, I know... if Ms. Cheerilee doesn't mind, but it'll be okay if we have to go outside."
  25. Secret admirers? Willow Wisp blinked at that thought. Who would admire her? It wasn't that she had low self esteem or thought she was ugly, but she just didn't think anypony was looking at her from afar. She had a feeling the ticket came from her foalhood friend. He was the type to send her something to make her go out and meet ponies. "So you've been to a gala before then? Even if you were busy then, at least you know the layout a bit." She glanced around again. The palace was really big, finding the ballroom was a straight shot. But she was sure that if she tried to find other places she would end up going in circles. "I don't even know what to do at these kinds of events. I'm... I'm just trying to stay in the lighted area's though. Even if the garden seems like it would be nice to see." Wisp blushed lightly at the compliment. She wasn't use to hearing those, then again she never dressed up. "Ah this dress? Yeah I was lucky to get it made. The designer is a real artist. She wanted to capture my... spooky nature and make it glamorous."
