im telling you its a storyline that could work really well, as a matter of fact you can make an argument that scoots is kind coming to terms on the real RD going by her jumping ship in "mare do well". the only problem would be is getting a message across, i don't think kids wanna be told to give up all hope when your idol isnt all thats cracked up to be lol

check and mate , this guy knows where im coming from! and that sounds like an amazing storyline as well! the mane 6 have their obvious character flaws, RD's being her arrogance, rarity's being her vanity, AJ's being her stubbornness, pinkie pie's being her separation anxiety, twilights OCD, and fluttershy's passiveness. each have had and are about to have an episode showcasing these flaws. So I don't see why it would be a bad idea to dig a little bit deeper

i dont think some of you guys understand, im not saying go a complete emo/goth route that goes completely against everything the show is about (because i would hate that as well). im just saying they can be edgy enough so that its appropriate for the shows standards and still keep its charm. it can be done, fosters home for imaginary friends anyone?

lol and no im not talking grimdark pertaining to tragedies such as death and what not, just an episode that slightly deviates from the show's campy formula. like say something happens to fluttershy that was so terrible that she becomes bitter and aggressive. or that rainbow dash does something to make scootaloo realize she's not the hero she thought she was. you know, something a little edgy but still appropriate enough for MLP standards, thoughts??

and thats the way i'd like to keep it, believe you me i was one of thousands of bronies that was in complete awe when not only derpy was called "derpy", but was given a voice. i mean dont get me wrong i love the acknowledgment lauren faust and company has given the brony community with easter eggs mentioned prior among the minor shift in overall tone of the show due to the unexpected new audience (bronies rule!!), but if the show were to keep adding fan created characters then the show will tank. but if i had to make one more addition it would have to be DJ-Pon3, but that would be it.

na, i just can't see such a creative team with such a vast amount of imagination caving into such a gimmick. Fim is all about morality and companionship, the message in the show is clear and can apply and appeal to everyone. no need to go the cartoon allstars route and make a PSA episode

dont mean to sound like a stick in the mud but i honestly hope derpy is the last one. if we have another BG pony lumped into another episode that would mean the creators will be at the mercy of the fandom, they already gave us one shout out with derpy and quite honestly thats all i need. but if the creators are subject to fan driven requests then that means the quality of the show would drop substantially. and before you know it MLP Fim will be one giant fan service to bronies, thats kind of the whole beauty behind things such as dubstep remixes created by the FANS. i mean c'mon guys, would you want the characters to sing the songs in drum and bass fashion? not me.

good points, i agree 100%. ironically enough some of my favorite fanfics are the one's involving the subject matter. i was just curios why RD? i mean take rarity for instance, a fashion driven, gaudy, materialistic and self absorbed pony. You can easily envision here in a "buffalo bill" type scenario if you catch my meaning lol. or heck even twilight, with her vast intelligence and almost unquenchable thirst for knowledge she can be one of the most cunning and diabolical villians since jigsaw :!:

i wouldnt exactly go that far, one of the many joys i get from being a brony is the exposure to all the talented writers, musicians, video editers etc. i actually like some of the grimdark fanfics, portraying such a light-hearted show as a gritty and seedy tale of tragedy is a talent within itslef. i would even go so far as saying rainbow factory is my favorite fanfic at the moment, everything about it was just so on point. the writing, character development in such a short period of time, the plot, the climax, everything. I never thought that portraying RD as a bloodthirsty, conglomerate monster couldve been pulled off (nor did i think such a portrayal in character would ever surface lol).

not a big fan of "dog and pony show". i know alot of people have a particular liking towards this episode considering the infamous whining rarity moment, but i just found this episode kind of dull. it was just another filler episode that the creators couldve completely done without

strange obsession in the brony community that intertwines everything tragic with the likes of rainbow dash? i ask this because ive been reading alot of fanfics lately and a trend ive been picking up is rainbow dash portrayed as A) a suicidal head-case B) a homicidal maniac or C) someone who's at the receiving end of many gruesome tortures, deaths or injuries. kind of a heavy question since this being my first topc and all, but its just been bothering me, what with RD being my favorite pony and all. thoughts??

hey yall! well what to start off with? been a brony for a good couple of months now. im sure you guys no how that story goes by now: watch one episode to see what the fuss is all about, tell yourself you're never gonna watch it again, watch a few more just to satiate any further curiosity that might be lingering, then before you know it you've watched the entire first season and you're an official brony lol. well enough about my descent into brony-ism and more about me, my real name is vinnie. yes, like vinny D from the italian shore (ugh that show punishes me) and no im not italian, im actually black lol. big sports fan, number one favorite sport of all time being boxing, followed by mma then football, then basketball. music is my life, i listen to just about anything you can think of: rap, r/b, death metal, hard rock, alternative, reggae, dubstep (WOB WOB), drum and bass, jazz, etc etc. love to stay and tell you more but i wanna get down to brass taxes and talk ponies
