  1. Cat Napper pricked her ears with interest. A five year artist? Specializing in pen and pencil too. Her friendly gaze held gleaming curiosity. What kind of art did this unicorn work with? Abstract? Portraits? Landscapes? Or was he an 'anything goes' type artist like herself? "I hear ya. Art is something I've loved ever since foalhood." Of course her talent never went noticed back in Cloudsdale, where athletes and flyers were highly regarded over anything else. The most she'd ever get was an ill mannered class mate of hers calling her a nerd or some similar insult. "Pens and pencils eh? Sketching is somethin' that's easy for me but inking gets me. My hold isn't too steady as it is, my lines turn out all wobbly when I try to get em straight. With painting it's one thing. Any slip up can be fixed once it's dried. Just paint over it and voilà!" Cat Napper raised her hoof slightly for emphasis. A little grin spread over her face when the colt introduced himself to her. "Pleasure's all mine Inkwell." The filly gave a cute smile. Inkwell, the name suited her new unicorn acquaintance. He seemed to be a very proper young colt, but not to the point of being a snob in the least. She liked that. Cat had a feeling that she'd get along nicely with Inkwell here. "Well, it's not much of a studio. It's a room I rented over near the Marketplace." She gestured with her head towards the center of town. "I just try and make due with what I've got here. I'm gettin' my work done so it does the job alright." She folded her legs beneath her and sat more comfortably in the grass, giving a little nod inviting Inkwell to sit with her. "So, do you live here? I just blew in from Cloudsdale to get word out of my art and earn a living." He didn't remind her much of the other Ponyville natives she'd bumped into. He had to have some sort of story. Was he a traveler like she was? Traveling with a friend wouldn't be too bad, though she was nowhere ready to leave Ponyville yet.
  2. Best forum ever? So far I see nothing that suggests this is false :'D If she takes my pajamas she'd better not take my airplane footie pajamas :'C
  3. I won't kidnap your kitty unless it's a savannah. I love savannahs <3 It's tough keeping up with em all but it's all worth it when you've got a purry little fuzzball keeping you warm on cold nights. Kitties <3 Welcome to Equestria's Secret Newb Society :'D
  4. Saffron, emerald, cinnabar, magenta.. Cat double checked the surrounding area to be sure she hadn't missed a tube or a jar. The ground seemed clear of all her materials, and pleased, Cat turned to shut her saddlebags, this time making sure the latches held tighter than before. With a little smile she noticed a colt admiring her rock, and she sat up a little bit straighter when he approached her and asked if she had made it. She felt pride wash over her, and reminding herself to keep a bit of modesty she nodded affirmatively. "Yep, that was me." The tiny pegasus grinned, slipping her strap over her nose and down her back. She jerked her wings out from under the strap and adjusted the saddlebags over her sides. "It's nothing spectacular, just my way of cleaning up a spill is all. There's a lot better back at my studio." Cat lifted a forehoof and pushed her goggles up over her eyes to enhance her vision and get a better look at the gentlecolt before her. What caught her eye first was the cutie mark he sported, it looked to be a pen and ink set. Was he perhaps an artist as well? Pen and ink was a difficult medium to tame, it's permanence allowed not even the slightest flaw to escape undetected. Anypony able to use it with ease had her respect. Cat lowered her hoof and allowed her goggles to fall and drape around her neck once more, her gray eyes looking as relaxed and welcoming as ever. "I couldn't help but notice your mark, are you an artist too?" She inquired before extending her hoof in greeting, then pulled it back awkwardly when she realized it was dripping with multicolored paint still. Little did she know that as she'd lifted her goggles before she'd left a silly looking smudge of blue right between her nostrils. "Heh, sorry. I'm Cat Napper, don't let the name fool ya, I work hard." She chuckled again. Sure she slept a lot, but exhaustion doesn't always equal laziness. Anypony else would've felt out of place introducing themselves splotched with acrylics and mane a mess, but Cat wasn't just anypony else. She was never one to judge a book by it's cover, and she more hoped than expected others to treat her the same way. After all, it was impossible to deny how adorable the petite filly looked with her warm smile and messy appearance. It was what she believed gave her a unique charm. She saved dressing up for more formal events than a walk in the park.
  5. I've had plenty of other cats, I just reduced it to my current bunch. If I'd talked about ALL of my cat's I'd be typing all night x3
  6. Hmm, let's see.. Itchy and Scratchy were two black kitten brothers who we got from the pound because my mom couldn't stand the thought of someone separating them. Baby showed up and beat the living hell out of all of my cats so we got him fixed. Now he's really skittish and extremely fat, but also cuddly. We found Sir Fluffybutt (yes, that's his name) walking around main street meowing at everyone so we just picked him up and took him in. We thought he was female until I caught him spraying on the wall. His fur was so thick that I couldn't check his gender xD Evil Eve was chased up a tree by some *****y under aged momlady and her 5 kids (I hope to god they weren't all her's, she looked like 19.) When we got her out she was so scared she pee'd as soon as we picked her off of the branches and it almost landed on me. Also, your icon. +1 internets.
  7. Hello fellow newbie. I rescue strays too, it's how I got all seven of my kitties <3 Thanks for the warm welcome all of you C:
  8. Ahh the temptation to draw Dash again was too much. I caved x3 The finished image is pretty big so you can see it here Also, this; A sketch of Kitty Cat, this is a scene from the RP in Ponyville I started. Rock painting <3 youshouldtotallyjoinitjustsayin :'D EDIT; I might make a few more sketches so feel free to drop ideas~
  9. [profile's located here. My first pony related RP, lets make it a fun one c:] Business was decent here in Ponyville, not too overwhelming but good enough to keep her income steady. Working on her own hours as her own boss taking as much pay as she wished, some would say Cat had it made. She was content with what she had set up here in her new residence, and boy was it a break to be away from the hustle and bustle in her sky home. But with her lack of socializing and deep involvement in her work, the young pony had yet to meet anyone she could call a friend. Even with her good fortune in her work, Cat Napper had become dreadfully lonely in that tiny studio. Cat Napper reached her head behind her outstretched wings and tightened the strap holding a heavy saddlebag to each flank, both packed tightly with a new stock of acrylic paints. Once she was sure her load was secure, she set off at a slightly faster gait than normal across the green fields of one of Ponyville's lovely and well tended to parks. Today was the day that the pegasus had decided she'd had enough time working alone in her studio. It was time to get out there, get some sunshine soaked into her pale coat, find some inspirational spark for a truely remarkable piece! She couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day, the air was warm and still with beams of intense white light radiating from the brilliant sun. The landscape's lighting was set perfectly in midday with green and blue hues everywhere. Olive green the oak leaves glowed translucent green light from the sun filtering between them onto the dusky brown trunks comparable even to a faint purple tinted over the shadows on the rough exterior. Cat's eye for color was brilliant, and the hues of the natural world never failed to astound her. Sometimes they'd become so captivating that she'd just- "Whoa-aah!!" Cat's hoof was tripped up on a protruding rock, the pegasus flailed her wings in an attempt to regain her balance without avail. She landed with a loud thud in the soft grass unharmed, but her saddle bags became unlatched upon impact. Crimson, aquamarine, goldenrod, burnt umber and a good number more colors spilled over the large flat surface of the slab that had tripped her. Cat lay on her belly for a moment with legs sprawled on either side of her, letting the buzzing in her head settle before she was back up on all fours with a groan. "Awh, fu-udge," She sighed, ears drooping. "Those were brand new.." She trailed off after looking down at the full chromatic scale of splatters covering the rock. A large blob of cyan set in the middle of the slab.. was it just her mind or did it look like..? A thoughtful look washed over the filly's face. After moments of envisioning, the light bulb went off. Cat's well trained hooves began to spread the colors almost subconsciously, the rock becoming a canvas for her newest creation. A dash of ruby red, a spray of vermilion followed by lots of blending with intricate and delicate forehoof movements that came to her as naturally as breathing. She'd stop and rub a fallen leaf over the painting now and again to add an interesting texture and blend the hues together, even a spot or two of rich earth mixed into the shadows of her depiction were used to create depth. After less than fifteen minutes of this the now paint covered filly leaned back and admired her spur of the moment work with a satisfied grin. The previously shapeless splatters of paint had suddenly changed form to a regal blue pegasus with dappled markings and detailed smooth shading, it's wide wings spread to their full span and showing thick flight feathers of every color in the rainbow. The creature's white gaze was mysterious and elegant, a feeling that if felt by the artist herself it had to be strong. Such an odd very messy look to the picture seemed attractive and intriguing to Cat, seeing as she used no brush for tiny details and the edges of her sharp hooves were all she had as tools. She smiled to herself with a small giggle. She simply found so much joy in the fact that nothing could make her upset, not even spilling newly purchased art materials. After a moment of consideration, Cat decided to prop her finished piece up against the nearest oak tree to be displayed to the world right there in the park. She smiled, the multicolored pegasus rock was quite noticeable under the shady green umbrella formed by the leaves. "You're welcome, Ponyville." She said quietly to herself before beginning the slow process of gathering up and loading her remaining paints back into her saddlebags.
  10. Well thank you so much C: I'm ready RPing right now but I think my character needs further approval?
  11. Break the wall of text, gotcha! They bug me too, I don't know why I didn't separate this one since I normally do x3 Oh laziness.
  12. Hey there Equestria, would you be willing to do a newbie a favor? My RPing is pretty rusty and since I'm used to playing wolves back at the BBA forum I might have an issue changing to the innocence and overall cuteness of the ponies here. Would you critique a possible thread starter with my Cat Napper? I want to improve as much as I can, being a writer is one of my dreams you know! "♪ So then show, You wanna look kind..♪ " In perfect synch with the soundtrack to her life blaring in her mind, Cat Napper's hooves carried her along in a very rhythmic beat. The weather honestly couldn't have been any more perfect than right there, and great timing as this was the day she decided to take a break from her work and see the world for once. She'd been careless in preparing to leave her tiny rented room and visit the public, fur still splattered with the acrylics she'd been using moments ago. Ah well, she wasn't expecting to see anyone hiking anyhow. Even so she wouldn't have cared. "Pretty-fying" is for parties, not inspirational art walks. Her ruffled mane was carelessly tossed over her right shoulder, forelocks as always spread on either side of her face and revealing her normally tired but expressive eyes. "♪ 24/7 on my mind..♪ " She sang along to the song that had been her motive for her last piece, still ringing in her mind and setting her in a fantastic mood. A lovely voice that was never heard by many as Cat had a terrible stage fright, she continued humming along as her silver eyes took in the sights of these small woody patches along the outskirts of Ponyville. " ♪ All I ever wanted is to be with you.. ♪ " Her trotting picked up speed slightly as she noticed a slight rise in the ground, too perfect for a running lift off to pass up. Merely feet from it, she broke into a canter at the last minute and pushed off with a strong leap, taking her well above the tree line before she unfurled her wings and began gaining alitiude with quick beats. "♪ Making me feel is so brand newww~! ♪ " Unfaltering and strongly she held out the last note before giving a quick somersault in the air then proceeding to propel forward at a decent speed. Pumping her wings, she continued with the next lines of her song. " ♪ I thought I can love no more.. Warned too many times before.. Now everytime I look up to the sky.. I've got you on my mind~! ♪ " Overlooking a stunning sunset, Cat didn't fly for long before settling in a widely stretched puff of cirrus clouds stained a brilliant red by the setting sun. She folded her wings comfortably over her shoulder blades and rested her head on her folded forelegs, hooves dangling over the cloud's edge. Such brilliant colors here, not even a painter of her skill could've chosen such precise and naturally flowing hues. The cloud she'd chosen, as well as overlooking the breathtaking sunset also provided a view of the small town she currently resided in. Ah, Ponyville. Cat let out a sigh of contentment, the sun's final brilliant rays warming her paint stained pelt. Tiny stars from above and beyond began glinting in the darkening purple sky around the sleeping sun, in her mind she bid Celestia goodnight. This town sure did grow on her quickly. Was it the architecture? It definitely was something new and worth seeing in her lifetime, especially that wacky bakery she'd passed a few times. It was a bakery, right? It looked a bit flashier than the bakeries she was used to back home in Cloudsdale. But that wasn't it. Surely it wasn't the pony residents as she had yet to socialize having arrived so recently. It could be the friendliness, she had yet to encounter a stranger who'd come across to her as rude. Good humble folk dwelled here, they knew no harm, only intending good for their neighbor. Yes, that was it! "Such beautiful peace." Cat mumbled to herself. Nowhere else she'd ever been seemed to match the true bonds and love that simply radiated in the air here, certainly not in Cloudsdale, the home Cat was ridiculed in for her late cutie mark development. This was a home of experience, adventure, fun in it's purest form and good memories. The petite pegasus could only hope that she'd have a few good stories from this town to share with her mum and dad when she visits them again. But, there was also the stupid attatchment that proved as a predicament. "Ponyville," She started to herself, dosing off slightly. "How will I leave when the time comes..?" She barely finished that last word, drifting off into a whisper as Cat Napper began to fall into one of her lengthy cat naps she was named for. She'd earned this relaxing moment, the air so still not even a breeze rippled her mane. Although art isn't back breaking work it sure takes a lot out of a pony's mental energy. Concentration, inspiration, beautification, relaxation. The four 'tions' of art didn't come easily that was for sure. She loved her quaint little studio set up, but it sure got lonely. As she fell into a relaxing dream state, she imagined finding some friendly Ponyville folks to keep her company. Maybe another pegasus for stormy races or mud-sledding! Or a unicorn, she'd heard a few lived around here. How would magic work as an art medium? She'd never know of course, her forehead remained bare. As she finally gave a deep breath, expelling all hints of a stressed soul from her body, Cat's imaginary friends became more and more bizarre. Hippogriff, griffon, hippocamp... dragon..... dinosaur........ zZZzzZzzzz... It's one of my most decently written pieces yet, but I want you to tear it apart and nitpick any issue, I'm always aiming to improve. Thanks so much to anyone who does this for me, you are awesome 8'D Also, disclaimer; I don't own those lyrics, they're from this song here I'd sing it if I were flying in an Equestrian sunset for sure C: EDIT: Smashed up that wall of text so aspirin isn't necessery lol EDIT2: speech is bolded to prevent further migraines 8D
  13. Hehe yeah, I figured that too. I just wanna double check and keep this forum happy and drama llama free. I think personal issues like struggling with the idea of one's sexuality are too much stress in real life, who'd want to go through it a second time through a RP as a pony? It'd be more as a fun thing ICly for me, more so Cat developing tiny cute crushes on her gal pals rather than a big long dramatic ded srs bizz role play. EDIT: I just needed to add this. LOL pony pr0nz. You don't need to worry about my profanity, if my pony can't use human cuss words then pretty much all of my RPs are gonna be PG. Now there's an idea. As a raging fangirl I've been drawing Dash nonstop and I want to branch out with my pony skills a little x3
  14. I'm doing some traditional sketches of Cat Napper and I have one snuggly picture of her with another pony though I'm not sure who it should be. Not first come, first serve. I'll pick the ref I like. No relationships are gonna be formed through this, it's just a fun thing I want to draw. The pony should be female though because, trufax, did you know that Cat Napper is gay? I'm keeping that in her character when I RP her but it's not gonna be at all obvious. She isn't the romantic type, plus the trans-pony thing kept me wondering if I'd get in trouble at all. She doesn't care about it or how others feel so it wouldn't cause any controversy I don't think.
  15. eeee more Facebook pony nerds. I am not so alone anymore :'D Let me know who you are alright? I'll add you so long as you're form here C: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001266560552
  16. I can't breathe, do people really 'get off' to this stuff? Pft, I'm gonna have to clean off my laptop screen I keep spitting on it each time I LOL.
  17. Derpy is a Stunfisk x3 Rainbow Dash screams Zebstrika with wings to me. Or a Snivy, they always look so conceited. A lot of the legendaries could work for Luna and Celestia, I think I like Cresselia and Darkrai. Even the new ones, Reshiram and Zekrom could work for em. Jigglypuff does seem good for Pinkie, that or a Slowpoke hyped up on some major caffeine. Rarity is a SHINY lopunny. Because she's too awesome to be a normal lopunny. Spike is an Axew, hands down. I'm blanking on the rest.. :C Blahh, you got me started. I'm such a Pokemon dork x3
  18. I'm patient :'D I shall await the final approval >3
  19. Roleplay Type: WoE Name: Cat Napper Sex: Female Age: Young mare, late teen years Species: Pegasus Eye colour: Very light gray, nearly white. Coat: A very pale desaturated baby blue. Dark navy stockings cover most of her four legs and fade into light dun stripes at her shoulders/thighs. Constantly she has dark markings under her eyes and looks very tired as a result, and has a black blaze along the bridge of her nose. Mane/Tail: Long and not very well kept, a bit scruffy. Mainly a dusty brown with a blue streak through the middle. Her forelock is parted over a pair of copper goggles that she's normally seen wearing either as a headband or over her eyes. She claims they aid her vision but the truth is the goggles do, in fact, do nothing. Sometimes she wears matching knee guards, elbow guards and shin guards, something she took up thanks to her lazy, reckless flight habits. She has copper horse shoes that she annually changes to protect her hooves from her less than stellar landing. Physique: A good few inches shorter than most ponies her age, strong hind legs and good hearing. Average sight and hearing abilities but she's very in tune to colors, and rather picky about good schemes. Also noticeable is a very prominent gap between her two front teeth. Residence: TBD Occupation: Traveling freelance painter, though she also dabbles in several other artistic mediums commonly singing and music related things as well as other forms of drawing and illustrating. Cutie Mark: A black canine pawprint with a pencil tilted over it. History: Cat Napper was born and raised most of her life in Cloudsdale like most pegasi. As an only child, Cat made very close friends with most others her age and felt them as siblings. Practically bouncing off the walls as a foal, her teen years arrived with a sudden decrease in her energy. Her parents were deeply concerned with this as well as the fact that she still hadn't found her motive. Her friends became enemies as they shied away or openly mocked her "blank flank." In early life Cat was enrolled in Cloudsdale's Flight Academy where she was considered a gifted flyer, mostly thanks to her characteristic flight style of riding the updrafts and then using gravity to reach an incredible speed. She was tactful and creative, but dropped out before she could graduate due to her more than destructive tendency to crash land and wreck school property. She spent more time outdoors gazing over the land by herself and sketching the dips, archs, and cliffs of the mountains she saw. Without thumbs, sketching was a difficult feat. The adaptive and inventive Cat Napper held the pencil between her bent fetlocks and figured out a loose sketching and painting style from there. Pretty soon everything she saw around her became a potential art subject. She preferred to draw the less common things, whenever there was a griffon or a hippogriff nearby her pages would be filled with depictions of the odd creatures. She never took her artwork seriously until the day she ventured to the ground and met a family of Earth ponies. She made friends with a daughter around her age, a photographer named Picture Perfect, and took interest in their pet Akita, Sasha. She'd never seen a dog before, such a playful and loyal animal. She spent a lot of time living on both worlds, one hoof in the clouds and another on land, a few years of friendship on Earth and scorn in the skies. Things seemed like they would never change, not until she received word from Picture Perfect about Sasha's old age. Growing arthritis and hip problems became such a struggle to the old dog that she could barely get up. She stayed the night with the grieving family after Sasha passed away, she shared their pain as she had grown very close to the Akita. Upon returning to her home, she stayed far away from anypony who tried to insult her like usual and worked on a painting longer than she had ever before. She didn't leave home and she didn't stop for hours on end until the piece was finally finished. She poured every drop of emotion into it, a portrait of Sasha, and left to bring it to her friends on Earth. That was one of the rare moments you'd see Cat crying, but of joy and not sorrow. Her old friend's memory was preserved, and her Earth pony friends were smiling through their loss. That was the day she earned her cutie mark, and the day she realized that this was her calling. After reasoning with her parents upon her 16th birthday two years later, Cat left to wander Equestria in hopes of sharing her art with others, making others smile in the worst of moments. It's all she's ever wanted, to bring a little bit of sunshine into the hearts of those who need it. Character Summary: Catrina Elizabeth Napper or Cat Napper, more commonly just 'Cat', is a pony who always tries her absolute hardest to put her best hoof forward no matter who or what she is dealing with. Sometimes in a ridiculously overbearing manner. Sometimes she's too much to take in at once being very active and full of thoughts and ideas that never seem to stop. Everything inspires her, from breathtaking natural phenomenon to simple urban settings, and she reads into it all with a ridiculous amount of depth. She is very friendly, almost too much so, and terrible at planning or thinking for herself. On several occasions she's known to throw down her needs to help a complete stranger. She's entirely chaotically minded and unable to keep a schedule of any sort One of the hardest thing to adjust to regarding this pint sized artist is how quickly she can reverse herself. She can go from a ball of nothing but energy and enthusiasm to a sleepy lazy slug of a pony in a matter of seconds. She is also quite easily irritated by the most unexpected of things and situations, which results in some very confusing and pointless arguments. Should someone be able to deal with the emotional rollercoaster that she is, they would find a friend for life. Keeping herself in very little consideration, Cat considers her friends to be more valuable than the air in her lungs. If she really loves someone she feels as though she should take responsibility for them and make them happy no matter what. Bad situations are smoothed out by her generosity, often times to her own expense but if she feels like she failed a friend, the guilt is something she will have a very hard time letting go, if ever. Overall this little pegasus can be blunt and irrational with an innocent disregard for common sense, overflowing with dramatic emotional flair, but definitely someone who pours her honest heart and soul into everything she does and everyone she meets. ((new ref sheet is coming soon because jeez does she need it))
  20. Well, hey. When you put it that way it seems a bit more fun haha. Alrighty then, I'll do that. My favorite thing to say when I'm trying to be discreet is "aw fudge!" so I'm sure I could make that work without a problem. You people here are very nice just sayin' :'D That's some really really adorable pony slang <3 Makes me wish I was still the age I was when I used to yell "fiddlesticks" and "for cryin' out loud!". Innocence, I miss you Dx
  21. I'm working on my application right now so that when I'm able to send it in I'll be ready asap c: The community here seems so sweet, I think it'll be a nice place <3
  22. Hi there fellow new pony! I still need my five posts so I might was well start socializing. You can just call me Cat c: how do you like it here so far?
  23. That's pretty awesome, I'm looking over the rules and they're reasonable, a lot like other forums I've been on. Sure, this'll be a pretty easy place to get along with. So, just to double check, vulgar language IS allowed, yes? Cat Napper, who is basically me in pony form, sometimes screams unnecessarily vulgar phrases when she's scared or surprised. I don't wanna get in trouble for my pony screaming something like "****" after tripping on a rock or whatever x3
