  1. Another oldpony collector! :3 Hello to you, and welcome to the forums!
  2. Definitely! I'm sure she'd be happy to offer her services. Hopefully. xD The joys of playing a snarky fart of a character.
  3. Aww, shucks. Thank you! I'm glad so many people like her and think that she'll be versatile. I'm hoping so! ^^ I know how it goes. Inspiration strikes at the most awkward moments. :T
  4. Thank you! ^^ And yes, you basically hit the nail on the head - her glasses, hair and cutie mark are freehand in SAI, and the rest was pony generator.
  5. "As I am positively charmed likewise, Sir Newsworthy." She'd reached for her cider to drain what remained and, as if on a very prompt cue, he offered to get her another. Well, she could get used to those kinds of manners. "I wouldn't want to trouble you - but, if you insist." And while he'd go about doing that, she returned to her writings...although, her ears remained high and vigilant in any conversation that might start up, again. Persnickety was used to the whispers. She was used to the uncertainty and even the insults, and so she tried not to pay much mind to all of the hush-hush that went on between the barista and her new acquaintance. The sound of a slip and an almost comical thud caused her to glance up once more, though. She almost felt bad for cracking a grin. What ho? The newcomer looked like a tough kind of stallion, too. And then to add to it all, another mare found herself quite literally stumbling upon the other two. She almost clapped. Almost. "That was a fine comedy of errors, I must say! - Barista, might we get a wet rag, perhaps?" In turn, she earned herself a look from the waitress, although a rag was wordlessly produced. Persnickety snatched up a corner of it with her mouth and trotted over, gently setting it beside Newsworthy if he was so inclined to accept the offer. "Some of the best improv can come from everyday life, it seems." She stepped back a couple of paces, glancing up at the other two as well, "Are the lot of you alright? Nothing bruised but pride, I hope?"
  6. The mare gave a small nod, "Ponyville? That's quite a long distance away. I assume your traveling takes you to all sorts of places, mm?" Her eyes flickered briefly to the parchment, to which she cleared her throat and flipped it over. Celestia forbid anyone ever even so much as gander at her work. "I do freelance playwrighting. It's not...really what I want to do for the rest of my life, but it gets me by. But, you are right. This is a veritable melting pot of a city." She finally managed to offer a bit of a genuine smile to him, "And where are my manners - I am Persnickety. Might I ask your name, Mister Traveling Reporter?"
  7. "A reporter, then?" Her ears had perked a bit at the mention of the School of the Arts in that cold, snowy city. "It somehow does not surprise me - no doubt the mare had a burst of inspiration, which is a fickle thing in the first place - but, at least she agreed to meet with you at all, yes?" She stared off at the wall behind the stallion, as if contemplating something. "...I wrote a small play for them some time back. Terrible little mishmash of comedy skits. It was absolute trite, really, although they seemed to enjoy it. I don't usually keep much constant contact with any of the cast or crew, however."
  8. It was beginnings that always confounded her. She could handle middles and endings - oh, could she handle endings. Lately they seemed to be of the tragic sort, much to her chagrin. Writing about pirates, though, one was bound to run into a bit of hardship. Heh. Hardship. That had to be a pun, somewhere. The pegasus took another small sip of her cider, flicking her head to the side to dismiss the obtrusion of her lengthy, cyan bangs. She tapped the quill gently against the sheaves of parchment in front of her, intent on concentrating, although it wasn't long before inspiration denied her and she found her eyes wandering over the dimly lit cafe. A couple of regulars, nothing much to observe...although, that new guy seemed to be givin' her a look. She nearly double-took, squinting a calculating, orange-hued gaze through thick spectacles at the other pegasus. "...Can I help you?"
  9. Aaaa, I love how rounded and fluffy your style sort've looks. ;u; It's lovely!
  10. From the album: Twimsy's Album

Just doodles of Persnickety. Oh gosh, my pony style is soooo very rusty...
  11. Thank you kindly, mate! 'u' I'm glad she seems like sort of a "blank slate" in the way of possible conflict and all that. And definitely! Here's hoping she'll be millin' around, bugging other ponies real soon.
  12. Reporter-book-pony awww~ He kind of reminds me of Tintin! A secret desire to be an actor, too? He and my playwright/actress Pegasus should totally hang out sometime. Anywho, I saw you asked for a second opinion in your intro thread, and I figured I'd give it here where it'd be a bit more proper of me to do so. c: I think Winter basically hit the nail on the head with all the stuff I'd be nitpicky about, though. As for name ideas, maybe something that would relate to his reporter/literature affinities?
  13. Just tell them you are playing a fearsome equestrian in a magic-powered multiverse. :B
  14. Hey there! Welcome to the forums! 'u' Another DnDer. YESSSSS.
  15. I personally loved Arrietty - I think this is the second time Ghibli's done a movie based on a book (Howl's Moving Castle being the first...? I could be wrong on that. Don't quote me. :B) Even so, I thought the animation in this one was absolutely gorgeous as usual - it's one of those movies that you can watch several times over and catch little details each time that you hadn't before. That being said, I got to watch the Japanese version, and with any Ghibli film my bias is always going to be that the Japanese versions trump the English ones. That's just my preference. Even with Ponyo, which I liked in Japanese but haaaated the English dub. My one nitpick with Arrietty is that...it felt sort've rushed. They had so much stuff they could've built on and made an even more epic movie.
  16. Very first anime without knowing it was from Japan? Maya the Bee, when they had it on Nick Jr. waaaaaaay back in the early 90's. Then of course Sailor Moon and Pokemon, and then I delved into the wondrous world of anime fully when I started watching Cowboy Bebop.
  17. Hello and welcome to you! Feel free to help yourself to a complimentary sandvich.
  18. !!! Oh gosh, okay, I'll have a good time, I promise--!! But I ain't gonna like it...! *Shot.*
  19. Oh, boy. My new home favorite thread. *Youtube video junkie.* I'll just leave these here. Mostly music videos, but cool ones! At least I think so. c: Click here to learn how to add YouTube Videos to your phpBB forum Click here to learn how to add YouTube Videos to your phpBB forum Click here to learn how to add YouTube Videos to your phpBB forum Now, time to go back and watch all these vids. :3 *Nerrrd.*
  20. Thank you kindly! And yes, I'll definitely try my best. Last time I got into a staring contest with a cockatrice I couldn't feel my legs for a week.
  21. Thank you! ^u^ I am hoping that this avatar lives up to the expectations of all who witness it. Dear Gods, what have I done.
  22. Roleplay Type: FIM Equestria/Show "Mane" Roleplay Name: Persnickety Sex: Female Age: Mare Species: Pegasus Eye Color: Orange Coat Color: Muted brown Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Celeste - or rather, a very bright variation of sky blue. Somewhat choppy with long bangs, but otherwise unremarkable. Physique: Thin, but healthy. Cutie Mark: A pony head-shaped mask, halved into both happy and melancholy expressions. Origin/Residence: Stalliongrad Occupation: Freelance playwright and amateur actress/singer. Motivation: Persy dreams of the day she might be able to become a true actress, instead of reciting lines over and over in her bedroom mirror. Likes: Plays, music, exotic lands and varying cultures, traveling, rain, snow and rainbows. Dislikes: Brash individuals, writer's block, rejection, feeling isolated. Character Summary: Persnickety may first come off as somepony who's stuck up, cold-shouldered and blunt. On the contrary, thereis a warm heart behind icy exterior. Those who do get along with her will find the trustworthy mare within, somepony who remains honest and loyal to those she makes strong bonds with. They might even find her bouts of eccentricity and dry humor entertaining. It's just the events that have frozen that warmth over that seem to make it difficult to get along with the young mare. Ever since she was very young, Persnickety lived up to her name - a fussy pegasus, always striving for perfection in all that she did. Perhaps it was because of the high expectations that her parents had set for her, but whether it be in flying, academics or what she loved to do - acting and writing - she always strove to better herself, no matter how much she improved. The night she'd acquired her cutie mark was the night she nailed the lead role in a play at school. Teachers, parents and students alike praised her for her wonderful acting. Grateful though she was and wonderful though it felt, she still felt as if it was not nearly as good as they'd said it was. She needed to do more. She needed to perfect her talents. When her schooling was complete, it wasn't long before Persnickety was out and about, looking for acting troupes to join. She auditioned for several, before the constant failures disheartened her enough to give up. Her acting was far "too stiff and too practiced," they'd said. In her constant fussing, she'd inevitably become what she was trying to avoid. Fast-forward some time to the present. The mare found herself moving to the cold city of Stalliongrad, living as a shut-in in a small apartment, writing freelance plays every rare now and then and, effectively, singing for her supper. The life of a starving artist, until she can find a way to carve her own path in the world...and break that horrible habit of nitpicking herself to death. _____________________
  23. Pinkie is always relevant and bestpony. But yes, everyone seems friendly as ever! It's a refreshing and welcome change from the other uncharted depths of the interwebs.
