  1. Roleplay Type: Equestria Main RP Name: Cinnamon Love Sex: Female Age: Mare Species: Unicorn Eye Color: Cinnamon Brown Coat Color: Rust red darkening to black around her muzzle and hooves Mane/Tail Color: Rust red with streaks of cinnamon brown. Her mane and tail are often braided tightly, though there are always, inevitably, strands loose, often falling into her face Physique: Slim and fit, but by no means an athlete Cutie Mark: An ink pot with a quill pen in it Origin/Residence: Born and currently resides on the Gallopocus Islands Occupation: Writer, primarily of poetry Motivation: To challenge herself with odd or different subjects for her work, and eventually to start her own literary magazine Likes: Writing poetry, warm weather, black sand beaches, pineapple, books Dislikes: The cold and deep water Character Summary: Born to Sunshine Halo and Silver Soldier, Cinnamon spent much of her foal years growing up on her family’s plantation on one of the smaller islands in the Gallopocus chain. She learned the basics of caring for pineapple plants and working with others, and every day was full of new adventures, from playing along the black sand beaches to eating fresh pineapple right from the field. Yet all good things must eventually end, and when she just reached filly-hood her parents sent her off to Canterlot for education. At first she was terrified. The weather was cold, and for her first few weeks rainy as well, she didn’t know any other ponies, and it was the first time she had been separated from her parents. Her life was miserable, or so she thought, and outside of class hours she retreated to her room, and ultimately to her writing, trying to get her emotions down on parchment so that they would hopefully stop raging inside of her. A week, and then two, passed, and staff, as well as her classmates, began to worry about her. She would miss meals, and even when she showed up she didn’t eat much. Finally, a group of fellow classmates decided that they should do something about it, and so the next day they went to her room with a tray of food when she failed to show for dinner meal. Finding the door unlocked, they cautiously entered, only to see her curled up on her bed, quill pen furiously dancing over a piece of parchment. She was so caught up in her writing that she didn’t notice the other ponies enter her room, and they were fine with not interrupting her. When she finished her latest poem, and realized that the door was open, she looked at the other ponies in shock. Several tear-filled hours later, the other ponies left the room, carrying an empty tray with them. The next day saw Cinnamon willingly, though tentatively, set hoof outside of her room outside of class hours. By the end of the day, word had spread throughout the entire boarding school of her poems, and other fillies and colts were asking to look at her work. At first unable to believe that she was actually that good at writing poetry, a week later her classmates were still asking her to show them more of her poems, or even write some as the case may be. Finally realizing that they wanted to see her work not out of pity or politeness, but rather out of actual, genuine interest, she discovered her cutie mark. By the time she graduated from the boarding school, Cinnamon’s poems had been published in the school’s newspaper repeatedly, and even in several of the literary magazines popular in Canterlot. She returned to her family’s home on the Gallopocus Islands, eventually moving to her own home on the other side of the relatively small island to continue her writing, getting her poetry published in literary journals across Equestria. To those who know her, Cinnamon Love is a pony who devotes herself to whatever she’s feeling. She’s passionate, in every emotional sense of the word. With her, there is no emotional middle ground. When she’s happy, she’s ecstatic, and when she’s sad she’s depressed. Unfortunately for those around her, this is something she’s only vaguely aware of, and so she often times has trouble understanding why other ponies aren’t as enthusiastic or committed to things as she is. Due to her extreme emotional nature, Cinnamon is also a pony who, to some, may seem flighty or even fickle. She’ll often start projects that she later drops at a moment’s notice, for seemingly no reason at all. From her point of view this makes perfect sense. After all, if you’re not completely gung-ho about something, then you shouldn’t continue with it, and if you later become interested in it again then you should pick it up again then. This aspect of her personality was tempered a bit by boarding school, however, in that while she believes this way about herself and others, she realizes that when she makes a commitment to others she should follow through with it, even if she’s no longer entirely interested in said commitment.
  2. As the other pony moved to tighten her cloak, and again when she bowed her head, Grey Shade thought she saw something on underneath the cloak. But she didn't think anything of it, given the weather and her unfamiliarity of the area. Nodding back towards the other pony, it never hurt to be polite, she stepped forwards again. "Mein name ist Grey Shade," she replied, gazing once more out into the swirling storm. "I'm frum... vell, eine little town called Eishoof." As the airship rocked she staggered a bit, but managed to keep her balance, her legs spread a bit wider than was necessary for the unpredictable surface. It was obvious that she wasn't terribly used to airships yet. "Ist near Hoofenheim. Eine peaceful village."
  3. After a little while, Grey Shade noticed another pony on the deck of the airship, one who's jacket didn't mark her as a member of the crew. Taking care not to slip on any snow or ice, she trotted over, silently sliding up next to the new pony. "Beautiful, ja?" she asked, staring out into the storm. "It reminds me uv home, der sturm. Howling und shrieking, ein glorius serenade on diesen vinter nights." Taking a step back from the edge, she turned her gaze to the jacketed pony. "But ich vould not stand zo cloze to der edge. Eine slip vould be most... unfortunate."
  4. With a faint grey aura, Shade slipped into one of the special storm coats after a moments hesitation, and then followed Dusk Sky out onto the deck. Up here the wind was loud, storm howling all around the ship, and snow and sleet pelted against her coat. But it was far less crowded than below deck, and that made it a far more enjoyable situation than it would otherwise be. As the crew scrambled about to keep the airship safe and flyable, Shade walked around, taking care to stay near the middle of the deck. Once, she saw a crew-member slip and and lose hold of a rope, and used her magic to keep it in place until the stallion could get to his hooves and take ahold once more. But other than that, she tried to keep to herself and out of the way of the crew, simply admiring the relatively uncrowded space and the storm that raged about them.
  5. "Ich bin Grey Shade," she answered, frowning slightly. "Ist unfortunate. Ich haff herd dat Stalliongrad ist ein zight to zee." Looking around at the now-quiet hold, a small smile curled up the corners of her mouth. The cramped conditions and loud ponies had been getting to her, but this... this was bearable. Not preferable, but bearable. "Vould dere be anyding elze ich could help vith?" Shade had brought several books for the journey, but the hold was still too cramped for her preferences. She couldn't get properly comfortable in order to read in such conditions. "Perhaps on ze deck?" And it would be so easy to slip onto the deck unnoticed, but then she would only be able to hide. She was certain that if the crew saw her up there, and hadn't been told by the captain that she was allowed, that they'd send her right back down the steps.
  6. Grey Shade had dressed warm for the trip, covered horn to hoof in a large, fluffy jacket. She was used to the winters in Hoofenheim, which had prepared her for the climate in Stalliongrad. At least, it had better than many of the other passengers on the airship. Truth be told, Shade found the blizzard to be almost brisk, a glorious reminder of what it meant to be alive. Gazing around the interior of the airship, she spotted a shivering mare, and lightly stepped over to her. "Dere dere," she said reassuringly, a dusky glow lifting her jacket off of herself and onto the mare, revealing a thick sweater on underneath. And if I get cold, well I do know a simple warmth spell... she thought. Stepping back into the press of ponies, Shade faded out of view, and seemed to coalesce from the shadows a short distance in front of Captain Dusk Sky, looking up at the other mare. "Der Sturm, how much longer 'til ist over?" she asked, voice raised hopefully enough to be heard over the storm, and the cries of the other ponies. "Ich vas hoping to see Stalliongrad as ve arrive, und not be getting ein muzzle-full uv schnow."

  8. Roleplay Type: FiM/Mane Name: Grey Shade Sex: Female Age: Mare Species: Unicorn Coat Color: Very light grey Mane/Tail/Markings Color: Pure white, her mane hanging over her left eye Eye Color: Black Cutie Mark: A silhouette of a cloaked pony Physique: Slender, clearly not used to lifting heavy loads Origin: Originally born in Manehattan, she moved to a small town outside of Hoofenheim as a foal, her most recent place of residence Occupation: Baker, working in the bakery of her adoptive parents Motivation: Discover a good use for her special talent, find a place where she fits in Likes: A cozy place to rest, grey/rainy afternoons, the smell of freshly baked bread, a good book Dislikes: Loud ponies, crowded rooms Character Summary: Born in the bustling city of Manehattan, Grey Shade and her family moved to the small village of Eishoof, nestled against the mountains outside of Hoofenheim when she was just a young foal. Not long after moving in, and even before settling down, her parents were lost in a hiking accident while exploring the mountains, and Grey was taken in by the Baker family. Growing up in the village was difficult, as she was the only unicorn in residence, alone in a sea of earth pony villagers. The other young foals would often tease her, though she was able to make a few fast friends, one of them being her adoptive brother (name to be determined at a later date), whom she came to be very close to over the years. Then came her fateful day, the day she discovered her cutie mark. Grey and a few of her friends were out playing in the mountains, and had wandered away from the stallion who was supposed to be watching over them, when they stumbled upon the lair of a dragon. Before they could react, the dragon lunged for them, and they only barely managed to escape its initial strike. In a surge of terror-fueled magic, Grey's horn glowed brightly for a moment, then the world went grey for her and the other ponies, and they watched as the dragon looked around, confused, before shuffling back into its lair. By the time the ponies had reached the village, running all the way, Grey's cutie mark had appeared. As time passed, Grey grew stronger with her magic, learning how to fade into the background and make herself unseen, a talent that only seemed useful when the village bullies were around. She grew into a fine young filly, and eventually a slender mare. Though her magic let her do more at once than her adoptive family, she still never was quite as good at baking as they were. Grey Shade is a quiet, though not shy, pony, often choosing to remain in the background where she can watch without being bothered, and as such is used to being passed over and treated as part of the background. This does frustrate her occasionally, but she realizes that it is in part due to her own magic, and so can rein in her temper. While generally friendly and accepting, she doesn't forgive easily, and will often hold a grudge far longer than is reasonable. First impressions are important to her, in both how she views others and how she believes others view her, and once they're set they are very hard to change. However, she is unaware of just how stubborn she can be with her opinions, and if she is confronted on anything she will automatically shift to being defensive.
  9. Role playing is when you take on the person of a character (often an original creation of your own) and, as that character, interact with other characters. In this case, it is via a board on this grand forum.
  10. H'lo! I'm also new here. And I envy your snow... I only got like... maybe a foot. All winter. And I'm currently in New York... upstate New York at that. It has been an odd winter.
  11. Discord giggling? Every pony for their selves, we're doomed!
  12. *Chuckles* I'd say "Good luck, I'm a sly fox", but your avatar appears to be a fox, so clearly I am out-done. Now, to start writing back-story for a character... simply because I can and I am bored. Edit so I don't post too much in this thread, 'cause I'd feel bad that way: Yeah, there was an official Maximum Ride web-site, that had an official Rp section. It was a lot of fun, but looking back on it I was a Terrible roleplayer.
  13. Why do I want to run a horrible MLP-Based RPG at my college? Why?

  14. About Myself: I'm an avid roleplayer, and have been for quite some time. I started way back on the James Patterson "Maximum Ride" forums, the Rp section (man does that make me feel old), and shifted to a private Rp board when that one started to heavily deteriorate. I have long since stopped posting on that private board, and about three years ago I got into table-top RPGs, as well as theatrical LARP-ing. Recently, I've had an urge to 'get back to my roots', so to speak, and find a good forum-based Rp site to join in on, and this one looks like it can easily fulfill that desire. As for hobbies, I enjoy many things. Reading, RPGs, LARP-ing, drawing, music, and poetry. If you have any silly/strange/unusual ideas for a poem, let me know! I love writing about the strange, like Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle and insanity. The stranger the better, it lets me be creative. Location location location... well, I currently reside in the grand state of New York, though I don't live there. Isn't college strange? At college I study Applied Physics, and some day I hope to be locked in my own lab somewhere, creating nano-technology to improve and repair the human body. How I found Canterlot.com: Google search is a wonderful thing. How I became a fan of MLP:FiM: I have to admit, for the longest time I was hesitant on the subject of MLP:FIM. I could understand why people would enjoy it, and I respected the fandom simply because it is one of the most polite and well-intentioned fandoms I've seen, but I wasn't really interested in it myself. Not to mention the guys in my dorm were rather... rabid... about it when it first came out, which was a little off-putting. Then one day I got bored, and saw the My Little Brony section of Memebase, and started to scroll through it. Some of it was terrible, some of it was hilarious (and I had only seen the first two episodes before my friends became over-zealous about the show), and some of it was just 'meh'. But, all in all, it came out to be more amusing and intriguing that anything else, so I went to one of my friends, a huge fan of the series, and asked 'em to 'indoctrinate me'. We spent the entire weekend marathoning the first season, and after we were done I sat back and thought about it for a while. The show had been far more entertaining, and well made, than I had thought it would be, and so I decided to watch more. As it stands now, I'm slowly working my way through season 2. My favourite main cast pony/s: Fluttershy,Rainbow Dash Sorry for the rambling wall o' text above, I'm not the best at organizing my thoughts when I have to give an 'introduction' or like-such. I can always go back and re-work it if it's too difficult to read. Anyways, I look forwards to joining the community!
