  1. Balance was having the most confusing day of his life. He was in court one minute, then the next, it was transformed into a circus tent, and everypony's clothes were suddenly changed. His suit turned a bright pink in front of his eyes, and the judge randomly turned into a clown. It was adjourned for the day, so he decided to find the source of this confusion. He went even more confused when he saw the pink clouds raining chocolate.

I'm all for spontinuity, but this is just...

Balance was trotting around Ponyville when he noticed several pony's with dangerous injuries. He then noticed pony's, one with funny looking clothes, that looked generally fine, and he hoped that they would know the situation.

"Hi." He said, without his normal enthusiasm. "Would you guys happen to have any clue what's happening?" He then looked back and saw the three disfigured pony's, and cringed in anger.

Whoever did this better prepare for what I can do to him.

    Or her.

    Yeah, whichever one.

And you better prepare, if you wish to face this guy. He obviously doesn't care for the law.

Well, I can help in any way I can.

  2. (I thought I might as well join in, so, yay!)

Balance Scales had yet another successful day in court. He was skipping along happily towards his office, to finish off a few papers that he needed. He decided to take a new route, maybe see more of Hoofington that he hadn't seen that often. As he was skipping along his new path, he saw an interesting looking book store.

Oh! I haven't read anything for a while, other than those law books. We should get something!

Sure. Just don't take too long, there's suppose to be a storm later.

He opened the door to the bookstore as a bell rang. He looked around the store, seeing the different sections, wondering where to go first, as he saw a gray earth pony behind a counter. He assumed it was the store owner.

"Hi!" Balance said, giving her a cheery smile.

  3. Pawn was distracted by the falling turret, then realized that Applezoom spoke to him.

"Oh right, the beam." Pawn's horn glowed a bright orange, along with the beam, as it moved out of it's position. After that, he returned to the ball.

"Umm.... Hello?" Pawn said, hoping for a response.

  4. "That sounds like a good idea. I'm...." I looked down at my coat and cutie mark. My coat was a dark brown, with a black tail, with almost unnoticable red highlights, and supposedly my mane was the same. My cutie mark was two chess pieces of different colors. I felt my mane, and found a horn.

"I'm... Pawn. That's it." Pawn began looking around the room for any obvious exits. "Any idea where to leave?"

  5. Lights flashed inside the room as I woke up. I had a big headache, and had trouble thinking. I couldn't remember where I was, or what happened. All I knew was I was here. I saw another pony in the room, looking at me.

"Ugh...." I moaned. "Who... Who are you? What's happening?" I inquired on the other pony.

  6. Instead of saying he is slightly"multi-personalized", it be better to say he has a mild case of dissociative identity disorder. Also instead of "prosecutorial skills", perhaps it be best to go with "deductive reasoning" or "prosecutorial techniques" (prosecutorial is a real word). Other than these two things, I feel the application is pretty set.

Alright, edited them in so.... Yay! Ready to be assessed whenever is best! Or was that the assessment? I dunno, either way, added in!

  7. Hey, I'm no moderator, but I think your leaving out a [Final] at the the end of your topic.

    Woops, sorry, edited in XD

Hiya, I'm a little concerned about his cutie mark.

My character, Silver Wish has a similar set of scales as her cutie mark too. Is there something you could maybe add? I don't think you'll have to change the whole thing, though. :)

Changed it, though it's not too different. Any suggestions would be nice, if you don't mind :)

  8. Sorry if this is a bit long.

Motivation: Balance does not like injustice, and will do his best to give a fair punishments to those who committed injustice.

Likes: Laughter, almost all jokes, the presence of others, his slightly multi-personalitied behavior, almost every pony, animals (especially cats), rain, and working independently.

Dislikes: Hypocrites, pony's who hurt other pony's, his slightly multi-personalitied behavior, stubbornness, when he has to work with others, selfishness, dishonesty, expectations, and pony's who use no logic.

    Character Summary:

History: Balance was a unicorn born in Canterlot to two unicorn parents. He was the younger to his older sibling, who was a pegasus (great, great, great, grandfather was a pegasus), that spent most of his time and flight camp. He was always top of his class in basically everything, only failing in artistic classes and sports. He also didn't do well in magic, having trouble holding his telekinesis. After he earned his cutie mark though, he passed magic classes like the rest.

When Balance grew up and became a prosecutor, he realized that despite the amount of cases in Canterlot, there was almost no work for a new prosecutor. He decided to move to a smaller town, and decided that Hoofington would work nicely. He was one of the only prosecutor's in Hoofington, so there was a lot of small cases for him. He was happy to see that there were almost no large cases. He also would take cases in other towns, mostly Ponyville, sometimes from Fillydalphia, and very rarely from Canterlot. He dreams of a day where people across Equestria know his name for something big that he did.

Parents: Balance's parents where not very well known pony's. His mother was a nurse who inspired him to be a prosecutor, after he saw her defending a patient who wanted to leave. His father taught philosophy at universities, and gave Balance a reason to wake up every day (To make others happy, so we may live happily as well).

Cutie Mark story: When he was a colt, he knew he was meant to be a prosecutor. His teachers saw his logical skills, and decided to let him help find whether a students where bullying others or not. For his first “case”, he ignored almost all of the evidence (mostly testimonies), and he convinced the teachers that the student was bullying other students.

Balance was sad to see that he didn't get his cutie mark. He was thinking over whether he was meant to be a prosecutor or not. The next day, he was working with his teachers again. However, the student was smarter, and forced the new evidence (Once again, mostly testimonies) into light. The teachers then let the student go, saying he was only defending the other ponies from the real bully.

At this loss, Balance was certain he wasn't suppose to be a prosecutor. While he was on his way home, he had an epiphany. He realized that being a prosecutor isn't about only finding a person guilty, but working with others to find the truth of a scenario. He knew from then on, he would use his deductive reasoning to end conflicts and give fair punishments, rather than only finding people guilty. At this moment, his cutie mark appeared; a set of scales with a bright glow behind it, representing how he balances out all evidence to bring the truth to light. From then on, he was able to discover the truth behind every case he was presented with.

Flaws: Balance is very impatient. He doesn't like it when other pony's don't understand him, and he absolutely HATES being interrupted. He usually only shows his impatience through grunts and raising his voice, though on one occasion, a pony tested his patience too far, and he returned it with a hoof to the face.

Also, some pony's don't agree with his sense of humor. He often teases other pony's for their flaws, such as any scars, or a bad mane, all in good fun, and usually just something sarcastic. However, this has offended many pony's, as they didn't realize he was joking.

He also can have a big ego at times. Never big enough to refuse defeat, but he can get caught up in how smart he is and not realize how he's overshadowing other pony's. He enjoys showing off his intelligence, usually showing off his job, and talking about his accomplishments. He try’s his best to keep the showing off at a minimum, but still has trouble.

He is physically weak. He rarely uses his own hooves for work, making him very weak, and forcing him to rely on magic. This also stopped him from being competitive with other pony's, which got on their nerves when he wasn't taking games seriously.

His final flaw is his disorganization and laziness. He can be socially awkward at times, forgetting to comb his mane, and putting his suit on backwards, though he usually just laughs after discovering that. His house is a mess. He can't clean at all, so he has to rely on others to help clean anything. When doing things for himself, he usually will be half finished something, then say it's good enough.

    Personality:

Balance is a very independent pony. He doesn't like working with other pony's when he could just as easily work on it himself. He finds that they get in the way. But, there are things that he MUST have other pony's help him with, such as organizing anything.

Balance, despite having a serious job, is only serious when needed. He enjoys laughing at his flaws, and the flaws of other pony's. He believes that if everyone could do that, there would be no need for prosecutor's. He constantly has a smile on his face, and tries his best to pass it on to others. He also never cared much for his appearance. He doesn't spend much time looking good, usually just doing a quick 3 second brush of his mane, and only washing his suit when there were very noticeable stains on it.

Balance isn't the best unicorn in magic. He can use his telekinesis quite well, but has trouble with anything else. He has a basic equal spell, that can disperse things, like water, equally into containers, or split objects in half exactly, though he rarely uses this. He also can create light, and can make his voice very loud. The only magical thing he uses daily is his telekinesis, which he has to rely on because of his weak physique.

Balance loves animals. They are the only thing he can be very patient with. He especially loves cats, and has a small cat at home.

He has a mild case of dissociative identity disorder. He can get in arguments with himself at times, usually about whether to take a case or not. It usually only appears to disagree with his choice, and can make him indecisive, but can also help him in making the best choices.

Although Balance makes many friends, he hasn't had a fillyfriend (or coltfriend) before. Love hasn't impacted his life very much. He only wants a filly/coltfriend if they both feel genuine, true love for each other. He believes this because his parents fought a lot when he was young, and he never liked it when two lovers fought. He doesn't ever think about love that often either.

One problem he has is asking for money. When he has to discuss his bill with clients, he usually starts by tiptoeing around it, with things like “I have bills to pay, and a cat to feed, so....”, and then waits for the client to start the topic. He prefers volunteering, but because of the economy, he always has to get money from people, which he must still learn to do.
