    Hello!

thank you! And yes, it was a fun day discovering the show's true genious.
  4. I copied this from a google doc I made. Thats why it is presented in this particular format. BTW, its called "How Unicorns use magic: MLP:FIM" How Unicorn Magic works; MLP:FIM Though this is completely my opinion, it is a VERY logical explanation. You may hear people saying “Oh, they just use their horns.” The horn is simply for focusing the raw magic and put it to use. The manufacturing point of magic in Unicorns is located in the heart. The heart of a unicorn is larger than that of any other pony type. The extra mass is divided from the rest of the heart, though it uses the muscle to power itself. There’s a whole other set of veins coming from this half of the heart that leads directly to a cavity in the head that’s about 3”X 5”X 2”. It holds a little bit of magic, in case a simple spell, such as picking up an item, is required. The horn is hollow, and just behind where it sits is a small hole that can be opened and closed by the brain at any time a spell is being casted. Inside the hole is what one would think to be a mesh net. Each strand is a vein that carries information to magic that passes through the hole. You may be wondering, “if theres always a muscle pumping magic to the cavity in the head, how come unicorns can ‘run out’ of it, or become weak?” Good question. Though it is always pumping, it is very slow, because it has to allow the heart enough power to pump the pony’s blood while at the same time keeping itself active. This results in what you may think of as a large bulb connected to a battery, and a small bulb connected to that same circuit. The small bulb will be dimmer than if it is connected by itself. The large bulb represents the ability to pump blood around the body. the small represents the magic producing half of the muscle. It saps the excess energy while allowing the other bulb to light. Now, imagine replacing that small bulb with another large one. Both would come to life weakly, if at all. Okay, back to the actual body. You may have wondered before when you saw a spell in a book, “That is not english! How do they read it? Are they Bilingual?” No, that’s not another language. Unicorns have a special ability to access any memory and focus on it as if they were actually viewing it in the past. This uses a lot of energy, thus causing the strain. During a spell, a unicorn will focus on the page of weird symbols they just viewed, and the brain sends them as a signal to the veins in the front of the head between the hole. Only magic can truly read and react to the symbols. This changes the properties, strength etc... of the magic. When the unicorn points their horn, it sends the magic where they want it to go. Without the horn, (only when a spell was in use) the magic would go everywhere. That is why when Twilight’s horn went limp in season one, she couldn’t do anything with it. The magic would have gone into the floor when she tried to use a spell.
